Reviews for Résidence Baie des Anges
Review 1:Everything charged as an (expensive) extra, including items which should be complimentary such as towels, gowns and shower caps when using the spa facilities. Inability of staff to provide a kettle in place of a cafetiere when requested, and indifferent response to our request. Poorly maintained facilities. The phone in our room didn't work, the fridge actually froze anything put in it (regardless of temperature setting). Couldn't help but notice the mould on the ceiling in the spa/swimming pool and dirt in the filters. Overall condition of facility was poor in building two with chipped paintwork and general appearance of having been based on prison architecture! Four stars? Barely worth two! Certainly not a winter bargain and definitely wouldn't pay more to stay here in summer.
Review 2:View from the main restaurant.
Review 3:The hotel didnt advise charges for swimming... towels, flip flops, dressing gowns and bathing caps would have cost upto 60 euros everytime we wanted them changing. The staff were arguementative and despite raising my concerns on the first day and writing a letter to the manager... Nobody came back to us throughout our 7 night stay. Halls of the appartment complex were never cleaned througout the stay. Not a 4 star... More like 2 star and 1 for service. Small print not clear and should detail the excessive additional charges! Very appalled with staffs response when issues raised. In my opinion A nice appartment ruined by lack of management.
Review 4:The room was a good size. The view from the room was good.
Review 5:The room was clean apparently, but under the beds, it was full of dust balls and rubbish; my cat came out filthy after having hidden under the bed. The bike rental (not the same company as the hotel, but delivered by hotel) is as expensive as a car rental.
Review 6:Excellent Spa facilities. Good breakfast. Nice surroundings and sea overview. Peaceful.
Review 7:We couldn't find a direct pedestrian path from hotel to the shore or to the Biot train station. Everything around seems very fenced, you need to walk long way around, on the road, or use car to get there. This is not under hotel's control though, just bad city planning.
Review 8:spa facility is quite good. Outside pools are good.Loved salt water pool. Having kitchen was very convenient. Staff was friendly,
Review 9:We assumed that at this rate there'd be complimentary bathrobes and towels at the spa/hotel room because they weren't mentioned on the "fine print" as did the flip flops and swimming cap. Minor issue, yet very unconfortable and awkward.
Review 10:The staff was super friendly, helpful and informative! Beautiful view, nice spa and other facilities, very pleasent surroundings.
Review 11:The price of the breakfast and food in general was a bit on the expensive side.
Review 12:Pool area was great & the view fantastic. Rooms have plenty of living & storage space.
Review 13:Building works on the go, heavy Trucks moving all day and a lot Of noise.
Review 14:Scenery, central for going west,East, North. Pool areas, gardens, reception, all well kept
Review 15:Iron, ironing board and good kitchen knife would be handy but now missing.
Review 16:Excellent location for car owners, free parking, quiet location without trafic noises and good view towars Nice, mountins and the sea. Residence option good for the ones who want to avoid too hotel like feelings but schedule their doings on their own agenda.
Review 17:If you don't have a car don't stay here, if you like a clean pool don't stay here, if you like free fresh towels or free fresh bed sheets don't stay here, if you like helpful, happy service ..... Don't stay here
Review 18:Further out from Antibes than expected and no good walking route into town, but taxis were available if not cheap!
Review 19:Inclusive Parking Good and comfortable facilities Reasonable food and service
Review 20:We had a self catering apartment with no maid service which was ashocker, no clean towels no clean sheets etc I just can't believe a4* hotel doesn't offer this? I didn't know this when we booked. When we arrived we were given a lecture about how they trust us to keepthe rooms as they are, they supply one bin bag, 1 dishwasher tablet anda broom, we were told to buy our own cleaning products and if wedidn't clean our room with our own to the standard it was at when wegot there we would be charged an extra 65 euros, this was before we hadchecked in which made us feel completely unrelaxed and that we were notto enjoy the apartment as though it was our own. We always keep ourhotel rooms or apartments nice and clean and tidy but the lecture justmade us feel completely unease and as though we were fortunate and luckyto stay there etc, we didn't feel we should be there the way we weretalked to. We decided not to use anything in the self catering apartmentso we kept it all the same and ate out for 4 days/nights.The apartment was dated for a 4* hotel, not done up very well and didn't have that great facilities. The standard of a premier inn is better than this in every way. There is a supermarket 10 minute walk down the road but it is not great. The location is absolutely shocking for this hotel, even GPS on phones or sat nav won't take you there. The best thing to do when you arrive at the station at Antibes is to call the hotel and arrange the shuttle bus or get in touch with them BEFORE you arrive (by email or phone) and get them to pick you up. They run a hotel shuttle bus 3 times a day which can take you either to Antibes train station or Antibes old town, this is good but they could run it more often. I wouldn't rely on busses at the bus stop we waited over an hour and a half and gave up one day.
Review 21:The fresh smell of flowers when walking through the complex is lovely. The shuttle bus that runs 3 times a day by the hotel (this is basically a people carrier and one of the staff members drives you either to the station or into Antibes town for 1 euro per person added to your bill when you check out, without this service you would literally be stranded as the busses are unreliable and the cabs expensive.
Review 22:breakfast food has small variation of choices, there is not enough food in general, coffee in machines finishes very fast, even before the official ending of the breakfast time. The hotel is located a bit remotely, you really need to have a car to be able to reach big supermarkets to buy the food.
Review 23:The place is very clean, comfortable, the kitchen is very practical, the rooms are big enough, there is even a small walking cast room; the staff is very friendly, both at the reception, restaurant, bathing areas.
Review 24:Kitchen needs some basic equipment (like wine opener, at least one normal knife etc.). Otherwise, everything functions well. SPA area (especially the sauna zone) does not feel very clean, there is some mold.
Review 25:The place has good free parking and it is in a quiet location. Pets are welcome. Rooms are big and we had a nice view to the sea. The sea water outside pool is nice. Staff in the SPA area were really nice. For 8 EUR one gets a robe which can be changed everyday.
Review 26:What we didn't like is the location of the single bed in the triple room. It was on the threshold (in fact, you're opening the door and there is the pillow). It's really a problem for this 3rd person in room to sleep in the corridor being surrounded with entrance door, bathroom and toilet. But the room is big and it's rather easy to place beds in a better way.
Review 27:It's really a wonderful place for the rest: nice location (between Nice and Cannes), nice SPA zone that lets you have a great relax, beautiful territory, private parking, big rooms with good equipped kitchen corner and a balcony.
Review 28:An apartment is without cleaning, however they could at least change towels and provide toiletpaper etc.
Review 29:Facilities and staff. Room was also quite nice and comfortable.
Review 30:On our first night fire alarm started running in the middle of the night. They said that it was because of the storm but for sure was not pleasant. It is true that it is not easy to access with public transportation. You defitinitely need a car or etc. We had one so was convenient for us.
Review 31:We had a very comfortable and large room; actually a 2-bedroom apartment with a very large balcony, equipped kitchen, comfortable beds... Bedroom was quite spacious and so the living room. There was a spare room that we could put all our luggage. Kitchen equipment was enough for us to have breakfasts and dinners. So cannot complain. Pools were good enough.
Review 32:When people upstairs moved their chairs on the hard floor it was very noisy. Plus could hear people walking around upstairs.
Review 33:Free parking. Wifi. Aircon.
Review 34:Nice apartment, with sea view and everything you may need, dishwasher included!
Review 35:We were expected to clean our room and we had not been informed of this.
Review 36:I didn't like anything
Review 37:Nothing to dislike
Review 38:Clean spacious studio with all you need for your stay.great in & outdoor pools.friendly staff- absolutely everything was fab.
Review 39:children are only allowed in the pool from 12pm to 3pm
Review 40:The decor and condition was great but the hotel was not child friendly
Review 41:This has just been taken over by Thalazur and developed into a 4 star hotel, which was still extremely good value given the loca. Would def go back
Review 42:Location and lack of info.
Review 43:Very clean and modern
Review 44:Arriving
Review 45:Leaving
Review 46:Staff were hopeless and very unfriendly
Review 47:Nice swimming pool
Review 48:Food prices, and difficult to find the place without a GPS.
Review 49:The facility, esp. the pools, (salt water and warm.
Review 50:If the fitness centre would remain open for longer times.
Review 51:The opening hours of the swimming pool, sauna and spa - made it impossible to use any facitily while I was staying there (and it was 3 day). A/C did not work on demand (and it was over 30C during my stay). Lack of things like fork and knife in a studio with kitchen. Cleaningness leaves a bit to desire. Wi-fi signal was weak in the room (and almost not avaiable in the balcony). Hotel is poorly located - nothing of interest in walking distance, far from the see (and the nearby beach is very low quality with a busy road just next to it). It might be good if you intend to spend the whole time of your stay in Antibes in the hotel but if you want to see the city and local atraction - I would think of another one.
Review 52:comfortable bed free parking
Review 53:Your hotel unit had a good bed and was reasonably roomy but we do take issue with your description of the unit (in advertisements) of 'a fully equipped kitchen'. There were no wine glasses, no wine opener/cork screw, no electric jug to boil water (water does not boil in the coffee maker and tastes of coffee and water boiled in the Microwave is awful), no sharp knife (every kitchen requires this if you are preparing food), did not have cereal bowls (we did get those when we asked). Just recommend you add these minor facilities to your 'fully equipped kitchen', noting that in total they would cost less the E20/25.
Review 54:Your staff at reception were courteous and helpful except they were unable to provide any of the requested items (except cereal bowls). We enjoyed Monaco, the Antibes old town, Grasse and a little of Cap d'Antibes.
Review 55:The Hotel is at least a 30min walk to the nearest train station and a 45min walk to Marineland, no restaurants or supermarkets within reasonable walking distance, would only recommend it if you have a hire car for the duration of your stay. The restaurant on site is Al a carte only and make sure you know that before you walk in there because the staff are something to be desired and won't help you! We travelled 8 countries in 4 weeks and this place was by far the worst place we stayed!
Review 56:WiFi had a very weak signal in our room; no kitchen soap or sponge provided in the kitchenette area; would have loved to have a mop to freshen up the floor ( after walking around in shoes, it gets dirty and there is nothing to clean it with).
Review 57:Beautiful hotel, excellent service; the room was very comfortable and accomodating.
Review 58:Restaurant staff was not very friendly and had poor English.
Review 59:No shop or restaurant nearby.
Review 60:Clean and comfort, parking spaces.
Review 61:Fantastic hotel with lovely spa and excellent view. Travelled in April and was happy to have outside heated swimming pool!
