Reviews for Hotel Baie des Anges by Thalazur
Review 1:Service quite poor. We had several issues: 1) We asked for bed sheets at 8pm given that my child spilled some water on the bed and initial answer was that we would have received it maybe in 2 hours! 2) room service was until 10 am, so one morning I called at 9.30 asking for breakfast in the room given that my wife did not feel well and we were told it was not possible because they were too busy... 3) one night we had dinner in the room and took the waiter 3 trips to bring everything we asked for! People is generally nice and helpful but I guess they are understaffed, so do not expect a 4 star service
Review 2:The pool and the SPA Room (suite) was quite comfortable Hotel recently refurbished
Review 3:A little out in the sticks- best to have a car like we did (and get one with a decent Sat-Nav). The pools were a bit gritty at the bottom-probably fall from the trees but could do with a daily vacuum. Breakfast a bit pricey (€18 each) but you can eat as much as you like.
Review 4:Beautifully presented, clean hotel, spa and rooms. Modern with stunning views across Nice and the Alps in a quiet location. Awesome shower/bathroom. Delicious Ital Pizza place 50m up the road.
Review 5:I'd consider overpriced in some extent so it's recommended to book in advance
Review 6:We were very impressed by the cleanliness and care of cleaning crew to the details. Breakfast is above the average and definitely worth its price. Swimming pool is great and spa facilities convenient.
Review 7:I work in the hospitality Industry & I do feel the prices for food & drink & spa facilities were excessive & thought that the hotel would have a full bar & restaurant if they reduced their food & beverage prices.
Review 8:Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was very comfortable, a joy to be there in a really relaxing environment. We availed of the sauna, steam room, and both pools. we had breakfast on our last morning and enjoyed it thoroughly.
Review 9:The Internet doesn't work in the room (we had the room in the building with reception) and the bad thing is that they don't try to solve the issue. We are in modern world and even in holiday we need Internet!...
Review 10:This hotel is located in a very quiet area. It is far from the nice beaches so you need the car. The room are nice decorated and the balcony is big enough.
Review 11:the food design is great, but the taste is not that great, too complicated to reach your room if you have luggage
Review 12:The staff are helpful. Very nice location overlooking the sea
Review 13:poor air conditioning, dinner was not good (not quality of 4 stars hotel) and wifi almost not available in the second floor and when was available the speed was terrible. Trays from room service (glasses and plates) in the hallways for at least 24 hours.
Review 14:Pool with sea water.
Review 15:The hotel's restaurant Angélus felt quite overpriced, and the service there wasn't very welcoming and friendly. Not a big fan of the 'professional friendliness there, and generally we don't mind paying for great food... but in this case it was expensive for mediocre quality.
Review 16:The Superior Suite was stylish and super comfortable, with a magnificent bathroom, good beds. Front desk and cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 17:difficult access to room, maze-like hallways and miserable most inconvenient building layout poor service, noisy - next to an amusement park and a trailer park. over priced. poor quality room cheap bathroom.
Review 18:free parking.
Review 19:- pools old fashioned, dirty and not deep enough - unfriendly breakfast service - difficult to find by car without GPS - impossible to get easily from building 2 to pool area
Review 20:Views from 3rd floor nice. Reception service friendly
Review 21:The front staff is not geared for business travellers and are somewhat clueless about details such as places to eat outside of the hotel. I had the misfortune of trying to depart in the mist of the taxi strike. There was really no thought process on how to effectively assist. I feel if I had not been in my business mode to get from a to b, I would have been more relaxed. In the future if I am coming for pleasure would stay there but never again when I need to be fed on my timing (could not get a table and no menus in the room) or when I need precise information- the staff attitude save for one gentleman at the front desk was rather shrugging and they did not care! This cause more stress than necessary.
Review 22:The view from the hotel were fantastic if you got a pool side room. The place was secluded enough and the distance to town was not too harsh.
Review 23:A bit far from Antibes city, expensive breakfast, bit noise due big road and amusement park near
Review 24:Nice heated pools thought seawater, good steam sauna and Finnish sauna, very helpful staff in reception, shuttle bus to Antibes, possibility to use pools and shower after check out
Review 25:No bathrobes, only if you paid extra No pool towels, only if you paid extra Breakfast, a lot of things running out, whilst they were replenished sometimes quite a wait, very evident when busy in restuarant, it did feel short of staff? Bathroom was very tired, and in need of a refresh
Review 26:Location, easy to find, and plenty of parking. We were given an upgrade to a room with a pool/sea view which was nice as we had a balcony with a table and chairs. Staff were very friendly and helpful
Review 27:Extra services are too expensive. Breakfast 18 euro, Apple juice 6 euro. It doesn't surprise me that few guest use the F&B. Towels for the pool are not for free.
Review 28:The view
Review 29:I think when people travel they really need to get enough help from the personal/staff of each hotel, but in this case was kind of difficult. The night staff was a very rude-mean guy, also one of the barthenders.
Review 30:Facilities, comfort, parking
Review 31:The hotel and staff where not customer service oriented. Once we checked in the reception staff did not want to provide any assistance regarding orientation to the amenities or hotel services. Rules and restrictions regarding the spa prohibited full access to services. The location is very isolated and the shuttle that was supposed to be available for transportation to and from Antibes was limited and even cancelled during our stay.
Review 32:The view from the hotel.
Review 33:The breakfast/food was quite expensive and there are not many food options nearby. You either need to take a bus or bring a car.
Review 34:Very comfortable, neat, clean. The indoor pool with sea-water it's awesome if you want to avoid going to the pebble-beach.
Review 35:We were allocated a room on the 3rd floor in Building 2 which was smaller than the one reserved and had no shelves or hanging facilities - rooms 2302 and 2300. We changed rooms twice after arrival and eventually accepted one on the ground floor - 2016 -which was the right size and had enough shelves etc but was so in the shade that we never had any sun on the terrace.
Review 36:Good parking facilities, wifi and imaginative meals.
Review 37:we didn't get to enjoy the facilities because for everything service they offer came with a rule that they forget to tell you about before you use...indoor pools (need a cap), towels for pool you have to rent, can't sit on the "restaurant" side (where it is sunny) to have a drink, bartender didn't know how to make a drink. Can't get in "this" door, or go through "that" door, it was a maze to find anything; it was a horrible experience. We biked 7 days, and choose the spa to "reward" ourselves, and didn't even get to enjoy the spa or any of it's services because of the ridiculous stipulations (which are not so ridiculous, just ridic when they don't tell you, until it's too late).
Review 38:Although the grounds were beautiful the hotel "rules" and "stipulations" made it a poor experience.
Review 39:Cold entrance to the 2nd building after you leave the spa, restaurant food was terrible, specially main course (fish was probably old)
Review 40:The room, the view
Review 41:We opted to pay at Hotel and got a bit of a shock as weekend days had a 20% hike in price over weekdays which pushed up the overall cost above Bookings estimate Check-out invoice needed careful checking as automatically included charges for some items (viz breakfast) whether you had them or not
Review 42:Spa was excellent with saltwater heated pool and Jacuzzi together with Steam and Sauna cabins, all free - Spa treatments excellent and reasonable prices We also got a free room upgrade to a suit
Review 43:Sitting on the balcony overlookingthe lovely pool area. Large comfortable room with tea and coffee available in the room. Undercover parking below our room. Friendly helpful staff.
Review 44:As almost everywhere it is loud on the Côte d'Azur and facing the pool and sea we could not sleep with an open window, due to the nearby highway. Breakfast costs 18 €, which in my case was ok, because I traveled with two kids, who ate for free. And that's how much breakfast should be: 6 €. Croissants are great, the quality of the rest is just fair. Attention booking.com travelers! The hotel likes to give you the feeling, if you book a special deal, hence a lower rate, you get what you deserve. I wouldn't want to pay more than the 79 € per night we paid. The view is great other than that nothing special.
Review 45:The view from the terrace and the outdoor pool. The second room we got was also nice.
Review 46:It was difficult to find on the first approach without the mod. cons.
Review 47:the general atmosphere between staff and clientele was just fine. If one did not want to use the spa or eat in the hotel nobody bothered you. The food was excellent quality, probably not enough for a very hungry person. Dessert were divine. Breakfast ample choice but don't wait to the last minute. It will be whisked away. Car park very secure. Only 20 mins. from Nice Airport, View from our room facing swimming pool were wonderful.
Review 48:The floor was dirty and the toilet smelt bad so I had to request those be cleaned properly; the polyester duvets and pillows were very uncomfortable; shower mechanism did not work, further indication that room was not well maintained. For the price and the 4 star rating I expected much better.
Review 49:Lovely reception area; good view from room; comfortable bed; good TV service
Review 50:Hotel not friendly to much to small childrens. Others ok. Extra paidpool towels inside swimming pool 4 euro each. Also what is notconfortable is required to wear świm cup.
Review 51:Nice and confortable hotel with great view. Also food there is parkinginclusive inside hotel arek. Fast free WiFi. Price to quality very good.
Review 52:Customer services was awful, room was ready 2 hours later than their noted check in time. Asked for twin room as travelling on business got given a double so had to wait another half hour for them to sort. Staff were rude and gave no solid reason as to why our room wasnt ready on time.
Review 53:Facilites such as pool clean and very well laid out. Reception gives the impression of a great 4* hotel
Review 54:You need to have a car to drive around, but then again, if you are on Cote d'Azur, you need a car anyway.
Review 55:The hotel was like a resort, it was on higher up inland and the view on the bay was spectacular. It was a quiet and relaxing hotel with all the facilities.
Review 56:If you want to get away from it all and pamper yourself! Then this hotel spa is for you! Spectacular views, tranquil and not to far from Nice or Antibes city.
Review 57:In our particular room the glass shower door had a space at the bottom, which meant the floor got wet each time we used it. The location was 10mins car journey outside of Antibes, the courtesy bus stops at 6pm, so you need to get a taxi back in the evening.
Review 58:The hotel had fabulous facilities, including salt water pools, with relaxing loungers placed around them. The views were beautiful, the beds extremely comfortable and we found all staff helpful. The evening dinners were delicious, with unique combinations of flavours.
Review 59:Far away from town, and House keeping is very bad, as they did not picked up the litter, or clean up the floors. Wifi was very weak, but that's like most hotels. No signs to guide you through the hotel
Review 60:Value for money, with a lot of facilities
Review 61:too strong scent in lobby, it becomes irritating;public areas must be more cleaned up; bad isolation between rooms; badly organized buffet breakfest: short of bowls, hot water, no choice of tea (only black tea), queue for coffee; no cafe nearby. you need your transport to get there.
Review 62:Nice pool, wide room, clean, friendly staff; nice restaurant, big parking and free as there no public transport to get there
Review 63:No facilities for kids aside the pool. No kids toys allowed in the pool, every little noise is not well tolerated as people tend to come for the spa thus aim full relaxation. We felt stressed at times beacuse of this. hotel caters better for couples than for people with small kids. We still enjoyed it a lot but next time we will choose a more family friendly hotel.
Review 64:The room with a very nice decor. The sea view from the balcony. Great food
Review 65:Oh dera, they failed miserably here. I was told it would take 48 hours to iron a shirt for me. Then , beacause I dint book a table for dinner you couldn't eat. Basically what they don't tell you is if you don't book for dinner their is no other food available. and nothing else really nearby. When they asked me the next day if I had booked for breakfast , that was enough for me and I left having another paid night available. Could not stand it a moment longer. Too regimented
Review 66:The pool area is great overlooking Antibes although the beach is a trek.Junior suite was big and well presented
Review 67:Reception staff pretty cold on check in unlike staff in rest of hotel, but didn't bother us unduly!
Review 68:Nicely furnished, good beds, breakfast, pool etc. Great views given on a hill. Good selection for breakfast. Not in Antibes, but only a short drive. Staff generally friendly.
Review 69:Lunch menu was very limited and very expensive. The web site stated that one of the pools had fresh water, but in fact they were all extremely salty and it took a lot of getting used to.
Review 70:Beautifil panaramic location and great place to go to relax and unwind.
Review 71:I had to pay an additional amount just because the reservation did not want that I stay with 3 kid, even though the website indicated the kids under 6 stay free. As this is a Spa, there were a lot of old people going in and out. With younger kids, we had a restriction on the time of use. So, we did not use the Spa or even the swimming pool. There are a lot of other activities around the area.
Review 72:Clean, comfortable. Breakfast was of a good standard. Location is great as it was very close to Marineland and nearby beaches.
Review 73:It's strange for 4star hotel to rent you a towels for sauna for 4eur and a bathrobe for 8eur.... in the SPA hotel? You may take free towels from the room. No free bathrobe however. Automatically adding the breakfast fee while the reservation was made without. Check your bills!
Review 74:Rooms in renewed building are very nice and comfortable. Location is okay but you need a car. Pools and SPA area is new and good. Parking is gated and comfortable.
Review 75:I have travelled and stayed in many hotels across europ and the world but never have I come across staff that were so rude, unhelpful and basically cold! Would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone!
Review 76:Pool facility and room with a view
Review 77:Breakfast very expensive, limited menu option in the restaurant. No snacks in the bar.
Review 78:Location and facilities are very nice. Restaurant food is very good.
Review 79:Bathroom dark. No mirror in room at all. Room very small. Decor finish was terrible, work had been done recently but a bodge job. Communal parts like a decorated prison. Staff were rude talked down to customers. When we returned to Antibes will not return. Also loud funfair outside hotel. Also woken up by noise of sea life from water world.
Review 80:Pool was good. Bed really comfortable. Pillows amazing. Parking was good facility. Nothing else good.
Review 81:I have never left feedback before .This is a revamped hotel trying to bea spa hotel which I think for couples for 2/3 days would be great. If you have young children and want to spend a lot of time by the poolits probably not the best choice for you. There are limited snack optionsduring the day and its a 20 min walk to the main road ,there are noother play facilities for children and the indoor poor has restrictionof 12-2pm and after 5 pm when they can use it . it would be worth spending another 20 minutes searching online ,if you are seeking something to please your kids .
Review 82:They do not seem to enjoy having children as guests. Best suited for mature couples. Pricey breakfast.
Review 83:Excellent parking. Very clean rooms. Seems recently refurbished.
Review 84:One of the staff in the reception was a bit unfriendly.
Review 85:WIFI, Clean, easy parking near Nice airport, nice pool. Good value of money compared to other hotels in the area.
Review 86:Front office staff was surly and disinterested in helping out. Restaurant was out of control, understaffed(?) and meals were mediocre and took a long time to get served. Even room service for sandwiches took an hour to get delivered. No English speaking brochures to speak of. Lots of annoying little things too numerous to mention
Review 87:Hotel was well laid out, nice pool, recently remodeled
Review 88:If you are staying with children you will not get what you see on the photos that are on the hotel site (you will get something far more simpler). There is a second building (where they put all the families) to which you have to walk through a mile-long narrow corridor system and then take a lift or stairs to your room (takes forever and is very odd) and the building has no views (parking lot at most). We booked a room for three, and one bed was placed immediately at the entry door, right next to a toilet and a bathroom, in a small entry space that is typically used for luggage (found this very strange and surely not comfortable or cozy). When we brought the third bad to the main room, it left no space for us to properly walk around. The toiletries are only given on the first day of your stay (as a "welcome gift" as staff told us) - so make sure you take your own soaps etc. We did not know that and when asked for some shampoo, after a long discussion and begging were given one tiny soap bar (hotel size) - for the whole family! - as if this was a gift (but staff was polite during conversation, however very firm on their decision not to give us anything) Breakfast is too simple for the price charged (overpriced in other words). Wifi hardly works in rooms, have to go to the lobby to log in. Hotel is very far from anything, need a car at all times (but there is a shuttle bus available about 4 times a day)
Review 89:Fantastic view from pool/restaurant side of the hotel (or if your room has sea view). Nice and clean facilities, polite staff, modern rooms.
Review 90:The price of the breakfast is too high.
Review 91:The hotel is quite new, decorated in a modern style, a bit impersonal (we were coming from other smaller and more familial hotels in the area), but it complies with anything you ask from a hotel. We visited the spa and had a great time there. Beware you need to buy the swimming cap, and pay for the towels though.
Review 92:Pool didn't work had to use other pool
Review 93:Too far of center, no cook available during breakfast
Review 94:Modern appartments, nice vieuw from room and breakfast
Review 95:Restrictions on children using the pool meant that we could no use it while we were there
Review 96:Good room, very quick service on checkout and check in
Review 97:The staff were rude
Review 98:The hotel was clean and comfortable
Review 99:Helpful staff , location, layout, facilities (pools, gym and Spa) and lunch on the bar terraces
Review 100:The restaurant staff
Review 101:Secure parking Lovely spacious room
Review 102:Really helpful and friendly staff.
Review 103:Staff in reception very uninterested to accomodate requests. Food in restaurant is poor and overpriced. Location is far from town and beach
Review 104:Saltwater swimmingpools
Review 105:Great view over the bay
Review 106:Expensive restaurant, uncomfortable bed, not near town
Review 107:Nice view and beautiful pool
Review 108:Friendly service
Review 109:too expensive breakfast, location from the city, too little shower gel for 3 people
Review 110:the view, new hotel, big rooms
Review 111:I didn't like that free wi-fi has many ports closed not allwoing to use some applications needed for my work.
Review 112:Too far away from centre with very expensive taxi fares
Review 113:Friendly staff and very nice facilitys
Review 114:Pool indoor&outdoor included in price plus sauna
Review 115:There is no A/c , only hot air ( on April). Hotel management switch it on from May it seems.
