Reviews for Hostellerie d'Héloïse

Review 1:Our front room was above a noisy busy intersection. With no room ventilation, we had to leave the windows open to get some air on a hot night, and hence got all the traffic noise. Therefore, no sleep!

Review 2:The restaurant was good

Review 3:the room was big and comfortable. There could be hooks on wall for coats. it would be great to see pretty paintings on the walls, and other pretty décorations. The new bathroom was super!

Review 4:It was a hot night, which meant we needed to leave the windows open. Traffic noises disrupted sleep.

Review 5:Pleasant hotel, close to cycling route and easy walk to the Abbey.

Review 6:As the hotel is on a busy crossroad it was impossible to sleep due to the traffic. The room was also uncomfortably hot - there was no air-conditioning or fan, and the windows only half-opened, but that meant the noise from the traffic kept us awake. The room itself was also tired and scruffy - with very old bits of furniture. Staff rather unfriendly and very matter of fact. After 2 nights we left exhausted and very disappointed. We could not recommend this hotel.

Review 7:Breakfast was good and the breakfast lounge was also nice. The bathroom was modern and clean too.

Review 8:We had to change our booking quite close to the stay here, and so I was not able to a much research as usual. It is on a busy road, and the rooms are not air-conditioned. so one has the choice of being kept awake at night either by noise or heat. I did contact this hotel and request a gluten free breakfast, but was told that there was nowhere in Cluny that sold such. But the request was at least 2 weeks in advance.

Review 9:Excellent restaurant.

Review 10:No hotel parking, although there was public parking nearby.

Review 11:Very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 12:En suites refurbished up to the minute quality. Superb food - almost Michelin standard

Review 13:The room was far too hot and couldn't open the window as it is on a very noisy road.

Review 14:Situated by a river, the hotel's owners and staff were very welcoming and the twin room we chose was roomy and comfortable. The dining room was spacious with a picturesque view over the river and offered a number of menus based on local produce. The food was excellent, the dessert with a 'surprise' superb and the wine list extensive. I would highly recommend staying here as i felt the Hostellerie d'Helloise really captured the essence of a good stop over en route through France.

Review 15:The room was a disapointment very basic. It took a long time to get hot water which was a bit of a concern.

Review 16:Excellent service and cuisine. Good location for walking and cycling.

Review 17:This was an authentic hotel, old-fashioned in the best sense of the word. After two flights of stairs up, the room was excellent in every way. The food was good and the service friendly and helpful.

Review 18:We visited in mid-August when it was very hot. The rooms did not have a fan or air-conditioning and we found it difficult to get a good night's rest

Review 19:The Decor in the Public Areas of the Hotel were very authentic, the service was excellent and the hotel was well placed for access to the town of Cluny. The old Cluny railway station (now disused) is nearby, a place to hire bicycles to explore the area.

Review 20:The room was very hot due to the weather 35+, we could have done with a fan. No kettle to make hot drinks,

Review 21:The owners and staff were exceedingly pleasant and helpful.

Review 22:The room was lovely! The food at the restaurant was really fantastic, outstanding service and quality, definitely recommend it!

Review 23:no parking

Review 24:nothing!

Review 25:wide room, kind staff, excellent dinner!
