Reviews for Les Mouettes

Review 1:the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, it's a good 40 minute walk/EUR20 return taxi to restaurants (no restaurant in the hotel and the bistro next door isn't open much).

Review 2:comfortable, modern, very well equipped rooms super friendly and professional staff, great welcome far reaching views over the sea and mountains

Review 3:Not a criticism but more an observation, not having a restaurant for lunch & dinner at this time of year meant that eating options needed to be planned. This wasn't a deal breaker but may be worth considering.

Review 4:Lovely hotel with great staff & excellent pool. Beautiful views and easy to find. Great location to base yourself for enjoying the local sights (by car).

Review 5:Beautiful setting and seemed more like a 4 than 3 star. Maybe the lack of evening restaurant made the difference to the rating. However, shuttle to Collioure every evening very easy and helpful, where there is access to huge range of restaurants.

Review 6:Restaurants not within walking distance. Noisy air con. Noise from main road kept us awake. Carpets worn and generally In need of a refurb

Review 7:Good view of sea from balcony

Review 8:Dogs allowed. Did not realise we would not have a balcony. Breakfast expensive. Would have preferred gates and main doors tp be open until 11pm rather than 10. Although we did have the code.

Review 9:Lovely hotel within nice setting and well kept gardens. Staff lovely. Pool heated.

Review 10:we ait breakfast towards the end of the opening time, and found the range of food had not been kept available and attractive, Second morning was earlier and so much better.

Review 11:Reception, room, breakfast

Review 12:The beach is enough far at 15-20 minute walking distance with crossing of road and railways...

Review 13:Very good hotel with nice sea view and comfortable rooms with terraces. Hotel has good swimming pool and good breakfast

Review 14:Great location convenient to Collieure and other historic towns in So France and Costa Brava, great staff - very helpful and excellent English speakers, nice breakfast, very clean and well kept, nice view from patio

Review 15:I cannot think of a single negative comment to make about this hotel.

Review 16:The location on the hill overlooking the Mediterranean and close to Argeles and Collioure was excellent. The staff at the hotel were exceptional, offering helpful informed advice even when not prompted to.

Review 17:The hot tub wasn't truly hot. The staff was not easily forthcoming with information but that may have been in part due to the fact that we speak little French and they spoke only a little English

Review 18:The view is stunning and acommodations make you not want to leave. Had a fabulous massage and loves visiting the nearby towns with the convenience of the shuttle

Review 19:Nothing bad experienced - we hope to return next year.

Review 20:The room and air conditioning as it was very hot outside. The bed was very comfortable giving a good nights sleep. The taxi facility to and from Collioure in the evenings was a huge bonus for us and good value.

Review 21:Continental breakfast 15 Euro per person (room service) for cold coffee processed juice and croissants with no jam Staff helpful but young and inexperienced No manager or owner in sight No restaurant

Review 22:View from sea view room amazing

Review 23:The view from the hotel was excellent overlooking the sea. The pool area was not that big, but suprisingly there were always sunbeds available and our kids loved splashing in the pool.

Review 24:Hotel is a bit out of the way which can be a problem without a car. However Collioure is a 2 kilometre walk along a pleasant though very hilly country lane. Pity the bus that goes speeding past the hotel could not have a request stop nearby.

Review 25:Good size swimming pool Excellent breakfast Friendly and very helpful staff Beautiful views and quiet location Clean and comfortable rooms

Review 26:The breakfast was priced at 13,50€ per person which we thought was too expensive, we didn't have breakfast at the hotel, we drove 5 minutes to Collioure and had a lovely 'petit dejeuner complet' for 5€ each.

Review 27:Location, staff were very welcoming and explained everything, the pool, the views! We would return.

Review 28:The location was superb, ease of parking, friendly staff, lovely rooms with sea view, great breakfast and wonderful outside area with pool made our three day break very special.

Review 29:We had a very hard time finding it - it is actually closer to Colliourre than Argeles. It would help if there were clear directions on the website. There was no close place to eat dinner.

Review 30:The breakfast was fabulous! Most of the staff was great. One woman clearly did not understand English.

Review 31:There's no lift and 2 floors but the staff kindly carried our bags to our room - and lack of lift is noted on the hotel web site

Review 32:The staff are very friendly and helpful and the whole team worked hard to make our stay enjoyable. The facilities are excellent including a great pool area, hot tub and dining room. The breakfast is worthy of a 4*star hotel. We liked the position of the hotel just outside Collioure with great views over the Med.

Review 33:It is a good long walking distance to Argeles and you need to get taxi to coulliure if you don't have car. Public transport also a bit of a distance away.

Review 34:Staff couldn't do enough, friendly and multilingual. We were from Ireland and had pigeon French but it wasn't an issue at all.

Review 35:nothing within walking distance

Review 36:excellent service - everyone was extremely nice and helpful guidebooks available to read so quiet delicious brunch pool terrace is gorgeous

Review 37:Nothing really a couple of suggestions. No dressing mirror in bedroom, but there was one in the hallway, which I used. Hotel is located between two towns and if you want to enjoy a glass or two of the local superb wines, then get a taxi. We did. Our first night was disturbed with internal noise, seemed like someone walking about, at 5am. The room next to us you could hear the shower being used. Woken by dogs barking in the morning.

Review 38:Finding the hotel was a bit difficult. The directions need only need to be hotel is between Argeles sur Mer and Collioure on the D114. Also follow the signs for Les Cirques. We had a balcony room overlooking the bay and pool worth the extra. Hotel is very clean and gardens very well kept with lots of places to sit by the pool quietly is you wanted. Parking is no problem, and is secure. We did not take breakfast, however the tables were layer with good China and staff available to help you. Our room was adequate enough with a good shower and separate wc, also in the room. Hotel is near the road and a railway track, but even on the balcony this was not an issue for us. Just take in the view -wonderful recommendable hotel.

Review 39:entrance is awkward to get into our first room smelled of cigarette smoke. They agreed to move us. breakfast is expensive

Review 40:ocean view parking lot was located up high away from the road proximity to Collioure availability of a computer to check email

Review 41:Nothing really.

Review 42:Great breakfast, nice room & balcony, some road noise but not really noticeable. Really helpful staff, good location as long as you have your own transport.

Review 43:No restaurant (although we knew that when we booked). Road and rail tracks close by detracted from otherwise peaceful scene.

Review 44:Great view. Nice setting. Easy to find. Friendly staff. Not too big. Short drive to beach and coastal towns.

Review 45:Absolutely excellent views, if you pay the small additional amount for a room with a terrace view of the sea - and staff is exceptional. We drove from Carcassonne to Barcelona, and this was a not-to-miss stop! Sat on our porch facing the blue Mediterranean and the Pyrenées at sunset, watching the sailboats, enjoying some local rosé from our minibar - heavenly! Afterwards, drove to Collioure (about 5 minutes away) for dinner at Neptune restaurant with views of the sea and the medieval port - Best. Night. Ever!

Review 46:The breakfast buffet was a little bit uninspiring and I wouldn't recommend it. At 13 Euro's per person per day, it wasn't good value for money either.

Review 47:The staff are very professional, friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is fantastic and the rooms are contemporary, comfortable and well appointed. Absolutely spot on!

Review 48:The hotel has no elevator. The room looked like it hadn't been remodeled since the nineteen sixties. All the furnishings were Ikea quality. The toilet is in a very small room, separate from the rest of the bathroom.

Review 49:The staff was terrific and recommended several sightseeing tips. The view from the room balcony and the pool area was lovely. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. The buffet breakfast was good.

Review 50:This hotel was fantastic - from the moment we arrived, we felt like we were on a luxury holiday. I cant believe it is only 3 star. We loved it. Beautiful views over the sea, the pool was amazing, the rooms were large, very clean and had modern touch. We had problem with an airline strike and the staff helped us so much to change our travel and translate for us to the car rental companies etc. We are so happy with Les Mouettes, we will definitely return. Thank you to all the staff you made us feel very special.

Review 51:If you have a car OK for there are no restaurant's or stores within walking distance. No elevator to second floor rooms. For lunch or dinner no restaurant

Review 52:Quiet, air conditioning worked well, coffee/tea kettle in room, comfortable bed, very friendly and helpful staff, no parking fee, attractive pool area

Review 53:Nothing to possibly complain about !

Review 54:They thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable at Les Mouettes despite being a small hotel I would say they had facilities fit for a large complex, from the heated pool, the immaculate gardens, hot tub, indoor a TV lounge, and a computer area, all with that spectacular view, staff always on hand, pool area spotless, spa treatments available, a good choice at breakfast, our room had a garden patio, made comfortable by having a outdoor seating and table along with deck chairs, with planting all round, which meant we could sit out and enjoy our little space in the evenings with some wine, perfect for a family too if you were travelling with children, Tea and Coffee also in rooms which is rare to find at other hotels, and a fridge/minibar and a docking station for iphone and radio, the room was clean and bright and very comfortable and although we stayed in September, no end of season feel from the staff or by the way the hotel was kept so tidy, there was a snack menu during the day and room service, although no restaurant in the evening which was not a problem as so near to Collioure 2 km away, and the terrace was perfect to sit out of an evening, can't wait to go back and stay again. Well done to the Manager/owner and their staff ! finally someone who knows how to run a hotel !! They can't do enough for their guests.

Review 55:The noise from the road when we went out on the balcony, so impossible to sit out there. Waiter over filled the kettle so water coming out of the spout - very dangerous I was lucky not to get burned. Washing came back with a member of staff's clothing in it (strange they can get their personal clothes laundered at work), and also stinking of cigarette smoke! When I complained immediately the receptionist knew about this as it appears staff doing the laundry smoke when doing it. This I felt totally unacceptable. The hotel waivered the laundry charge and also gave my husband and myself a present of wine, water and local cakes to redeem themselves. This was nice but staff should not be smoking ironing guests clean laundry.

Review 56:Room very good and very clean with a super view of the sea. Very nice pool and excellent breakfast and parking on site.

Review 57:Only objective would be the bar area is open slightly longer, however mini bar provides beverages in your room, so you can still enjoy a drink

Review 58:Excellent facilities and staff. Fantastic views from the hotel Extremely clean common areas and room. Staff accommodating and nothing seemed to much trouble. Really good that we didn't have to drive far to local towns and villages. All in all a great place to stay and would highly recommend it.

Review 59:I can fault nothing.

Review 60:The location made access to everywhere easy, the views were stunnining and the staff, from the ladies who cleaned constantly, through the resteraunt staff and the receptionists to the directors were absolutely delightfull.

Review 61:there was a big road and railway between the hotel and beach. you may be lucky to survive a trip by walking to the beach. the whole hotel was pretty much small, all stuff quite narrow (swimming pool, bar etc). the swimming pool looked great on the pictures, but was just nothing special. price/quality on the higher end

Review 62:For 3-star hotel, not much to fault, much better than expected (we usually stay in 5-star).

Review 63:Decent size family room with foldable room partition Lovely playground Good size pool area, particularly for a 3-star hotel Good supply of pool towels so don't need to constantly dry them Well-kept, lovely planting in surroundings Nice view of Argeles sur mer Plenty of free parking Decent breakfast (but payable extra)

Review 64:walls in the bedrooms very thin some rooms need to be refurbished food is ok - very simple menu I would not suggest eating in the hotel better to eat in collioure breakfast expensive

Review 65:location views from the terrace staff good cleaning staff v good

Review 66:Room rather dark - only bedside lights No tea/coffee facilities in room Hvg to pay extra for access into spa even just to use jacuzzi Breakfast not included in rather hefty room rate Breakfast an extra €13.50 per person - not worth it! Could hear every movement from room above esp at night!

Review 67:The location The stunning views Friendly and helpful staff Comfortable beds The pool and pool area Small private garden terrace Free wifi

Review 68:Our family room had a nice view but was a bit dated and tired looking. Breakfast was too expensive and no other options unless you have a room with kitchen facilities. Wifi was slow.

Review 69:Lovely sea view from our room. On site free parking. Nice pool area.

Review 70:The only drawback is that you are between two towns and so need to drive in for dinner in the evening, but as the hotel was so lovely this didn't matter.

Review 71:This was a wonderful place. The hotel has thought of many details to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We had a triple garden room and for once it was really was a triple room, with adequate room for a third person, rather than a third bed in a double room. Lots of space for clothes, a mini bar, tv, sound system and a lovely little patio with table, chairs and deck chairs, looking on to the pretty grounds. The staff were so lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Even when our credit card wouldn't go through, the proprietor was not worried and just said 'don't worry we will find a solution'. The pool area was well arranged with comfortable loungers, a jacuzzi and lovely sea views. There was also a great play area for families with younger children with family rooms close by to it. Can't recommend it enough.

Review 72:Poor wi-fi Breakfast not included

Review 73:Large apartment with plenty of space for family of 4. Great pool area Super destination with lots of activities. Super nice beaces Friendly staff Clean Comfortable beds

Review 74:The breakfast was 13.50 Euros/pp and didn't consist of anything special. A very limited selection of meat, cheese, and fruit. No lifts to our room on the 2nd floor.

Review 75:This hotel is up the road before you enter the town of Collioure (heading south), a very busy and crowded tourist town. We had a dinner reservation in town, but enjoyed getting out of there after to escape to the quiet of our ocean view room. The next morning, the hotel granted us a late check-out so that we could both enjoy one-hour massages. The breakfast was adequate, but somewhat overpriced. The staff was friendly and the room was quiet with a nice view of the ocean. There was also a pool and hot tub, but we did not get a chance to use them.

Review 76:Unfortunatley our bed was particularly hard and uncomfortable. You have to drive or use taxis if you dont want to walk for dinner. Taxi costs are not cheap.

Review 77:Relaxing friendly, perfect for couples. 30 minute walk to resteraunts and beach or stay in the pool area clean and relaxing. We had mountain view but will go for sea view next time. Breakfast was good plenty of choice and we chilled sat around the pool.

Review 78:Noisy road

Review 79:We had a sea facing room but the overall impression was that it was a bit dated but we were still comfortable. The balcony was great to sit out on with a drink. We found the Le Racou walk across the road into Collioure which is a bit steep in places and walked back by road. Collioure is lovely but busy at times. Parking is best on the edge of town near the stadium and after a few minutes walk you are in amongst the restaurants, shops etc

Review 80:No dinner restaurant in the hotel and no easy access to even nearby restaurants by foot. You'd need to use your own car as there didn't seem to be taxi services available either.

Review 81:We had a room on the sea side, so the view was great. The room was of a good size, as was the balcony. Some members of staff were friendly and welcoming, too. The continental breakfast was also decent with cold cuts, boiled eggs, fruits and berries etc.

Review 82:Breakfast was a bit chaotic. There were not enough staff to re-lay tables and stock the buffet. Waiting times for food to emerge from the kitchen were too long, given the charge of 13.50 euros.

Review 83:Reception rang to offer an alternative room a couple of days after we booked. We had ticked "quiet room" and the one booked faced the road. We were grateful for that.

Review 84:Breakfast could have had more variety.

Review 85:Friendly and relaxed atmosphere

Review 86:No lift to upper floors.

Review 87:The view over the sea from the outside breakfast area.

Review 88:Loved the location, view of the sea and the facilities. Great hot tub. Little chilly for the pool but it looked lovely.

Review 89:Nothing negative about this place.

Review 90:Staff, facilities, location and spa all excellent. Would not hesitate to stay again.

Review 91:Garden room very dark, staff not particularly friendly

Review 92:Views, pool

Review 93:Gentleman who greeted us was exceptionally friendly and professional and gave us his undivided attention as he showed us the hotel and our room.

Review 94:had to leave

Review 95:the pool, the walk to the sea

Review 96:No restaurant but lots of choices in nearby Collioure

Review 97:Fabulous location, stunning sea view

Review 98:Nothing was bad

Review 99:The location, the view, the breakfast, the attitude of the staff

Review 100:No restaurant. Sporadic attention to guest service.

Review 101:Lovely location and sea views.

Review 102:Position and views. Price

Review 103:on a main road. Little noisey.

Review 104:Great location very helpful staff

Review 105:Charm and helpfulness of the staff nothing was too much trouble

Review 106:No internet. Very hard mattress

Review 107:Nice staff

Review 108:The noisy road and railway line in front of the hotel. Not walkable to a beach

Review 109:The swimming pool area and being close to Collioure

Review 110:Poor wifi despite every effort by the hotel to resolve the problem

Review 111:Everything was perfect except for wifi

Review 112:Unreliable wifi (but applies to other French hotels too).

Review 113:Great location. Absolutely fantastic staff.

Review 114:Wifi in room 4 was weak.

Review 115:Relaxed, quiet attitude to the hotel business

Review 116:Magnificent views. Great hotel. Friendly staff.

Review 117:Not possible to make walks by foot from the hotel

Review 118:Dog friendly

Review 119:The staff are just amazing as they are so friendly and accommodating.

Review 120:Pool was very busy and it was tough to get a long chair sometimes.

Review 121:Good location.

Review 122:The room wasn't ready yet when we were shown in. Not enough seats for outside breakfast.

Review 123:Location and views are excellent

Review 124:We enjoyed our 1 night stay and will return one day. Everything was excellent.

Review 125:Superb friendly hotel. We hope to return next year.

Review 126:Everything was perfect

Review 127:Comfortable clean hotel in a good location - short walk to Racou Beach

Review 128:the view, the room, the staff

Review 129:A lovely heated pool that actually feels heated, in relaxing quiet surroundings.

Review 130:Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Views were great. This is out of the hubbub of the town, but it makes it peaceful and serene.

The Fine Print

Please note that the hotel has a snack service from mid-June until mid-September.The property is not accessible by an elevator.
