Reviews for Club Fiji Resort
Review 1:Absolutely poor service on arrival.manager on duty Navin has no customer skills.no vistor acknowledgment.no porter availability.staff(a big guy with a siglet top stands at reception scratching his private parts).we had no electricity yet when we arrived in the evening no assistance was given to be taken to our bungalows in the dark.no acknowledgment again on departure by the manager who was leaning on the counter. Eating area, very disgusting with mouldy placemats and very dirty chairs
Review 2:I liked leaving the resort
Review 3:The beach in front of the hotel is just horrible. Ok it's not white sand, but it's muddy and dirty. Glass and litter all over the place. The room was ok, but on multiple nights we had to fight with cockroaches. Especially one night there were 4 of them!! Unacceptable! The mattress was super uncomfortable; too, too soft. Should have been replaced years ago. The a/c was going on/off by itself, it wasn't too hot during our stay but the a/c unit felt really unreliable. The breakfast wasn't the best, with very limited choice. Also, the birds were always ready to attack your plate the second you were stepping to get something else. We had to get our stuff doing turns, with one always at the table watching the food. The pool, also considering how the beach looks like, should definitely be improved. We never swam there once. The only road to go out the hotel is not walkable, due to stray dogs that bite. Very disappointing, as the only option left to get out is to call a taxi.
Review 4:Location is not too bad, meaning it is close enough to the airport, the city centre and the marina (port denarau). Staff is very friendly.
Review 5:stood waiting at airport for over a hour with other couples waiting for bus that didn't arrive had to take taxi meals were average and expensive staff moved slower than Fiji time
Review 6:Nothing about it
Review 7:Lovely & quiet location. Is basic, but has everything you need. It is very relaxing. Most of the day all you hear is the birds chirping. Plenty of shade for laying out.
Review 8:Everything. The staff don't have any hospitality training. There was hair in my food and not one staff apologies for it. The air conditioning didn't even cool the room down. Food was over priced and tasted really bad.
Review 9:Nothing
Review 10:The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the pool, it looked green and not very enticing. Lucky the beach on high tide was a good alternative.
Review 11:Overall we had a great stay with Club Fiji Resort! We loved the traditional Fijian style and the staff were all so lovely and helpful. The food was great and the rooms were nice a clean. I loved the fact that there was no television in the rooms it really makes you enjoy the holiday more. Thanks again!
Review 12:Airport pick up did not arrive, beach is littered with plastic and glass, food was terrible, bed was uncomfortable and beware of the stray dogs they will bite.
Review 13:That there was no water or refreshments available in the main building. If you wanted a drink you had to purchase from the bar for water or coffee, out of the time frame of breakfast. The wifi was 4$ for one hour and did not have the best connection. The pads and chairs by the beach needed to be cleaned .....bird droppings.
Review 14:The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. My room was cleaned every day with fresh bedding and towels. The breakfast was good and plentiful. For the price it is an ok place.
Review 15:Room was OK, but A/C sucked. Beach only had water in high tide, and not enough for a good swim.
Review 16:People were great. Food was good. Service excellent.
Review 17:It would be good to advise guest of the activities provided. I totally missed out on that. Somebody get rid of the dogs on the beach!
Review 18:Live band! Location, view, staff and the volleyball set up on the beach.
Review 19:Myna birds taking food from plates in restaurant. Unsealed road into resort and passed a open air crematorium
Review 20:Beachfront resort. Sandy beach. Peaceful and relaxing
Review 21:Pack of local farmers dogs - tad scary!!!
Review 22:Pickup from airport essy. Staff awesome. Location fantastic, atmosphere great as well as food. Bures need a bit of maintenance especially bathrooms
Review 23:They have a big problem with local dogs barking all night and the pool surrounds were very dangerous when wet.
Review 24:We liked the bungalows on the beach front location and the design of the bar and restaurant.
Review 25:The pool beds and beachlounger cushions are stained and soiled. The beach is different from the photograph advertisement.....the beach/lagoon is muddy and not suitable for bathing....the room rate on arrival was 35 percent higher than your quote. It was rectified but other Booking.com users had experienced the same problem...not the best start !
Review 26:Very pleasant staff.....convenient for island pick-ups for day outings...best to do them as the hotel has little to offer if you have travelled from the other side of the world !
Review 27:Keep your plate close in the restaurant as the birds are quick!!
Review 28:Good value for money, quiet. The family room was great for the kids and they had plenty of room to run around.
Review 29:The location seems to be a very poor part of town, the beach was littered with household rubbish and broken glass. Beware of the stray dogs.
Review 30:The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 31:The manager (I assume) walked around grumpy and didn't smile once. Everytime he spoke to a staff member he was rude. Also the dogs at night barked a lot. Not the resorts fault but still a bit annoying.
Review 32:The staff here were so great!!! We loved them all and it started to feel like a little family! We stayed for 6 days and loved it! The food was delicious and well priced. But it was mostly the people we met there that made our time great. Shout out to Rebecca, Phillip, Cookie & Tonga! Our room was comfy and was made up every day by the friendly staff. The FREE snorkling trip was fun. This resort may not be the prettiest but it was relaxing and fun.
Review 33:Free transfers from airport only if arriving on an International flight. There were no transfers back to airport, had to pay for taxi x 2, because we had 5 of us.
Review 34:Very relaxing here, close to beach made it easy to chill for a couple of days before returning home. Fijian bures, simple but clean, a real Fijian feel, which we liked.
Review 35:Nothing, value for money and good rustic resort which is full of love!
Review 36:The staff are amazing and for the price this resort is well worth it. We often stay here for a night or two on our way through and have always received great service, food good and rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious.
Review 37:Breakfast could be better, the portion of breakfast wasn't fulfilling.
Review 38:The location of the resort, it was very peaceful and friendly. The price was very reasonable.
Review 39:Not being collected by shuttle bus at the airport after specifically arranging this
Review 40:Peace and tranquility, the friendliness and helpfullness of the staff.
Review 41:Nobody picked me up from the airport despite it has being confirmed prior my arrival. I had to take a taxi to the resort to discover that my room wasn't even booked. Everything was a great disappointment. The location is not good, food and drinks are extremely expensive and even the beach is dirty and ugly.
Review 42:Some of the food like chicken and t bone steak taste like they have been frozen for a long time. Doesn't taste nice. Also serves evening events as promised never eventuated and lucky draws at restaurant never eventuated ..every time we were given the tickets and waited for lucky prize draw but nothing.
Review 43:It's was quiet and very relaxing. Love the setting.
Review 44:Tonga who served us at the Pizza bar Arvee who was our boatman for the snorkelling trip. Meke our waitress for breakfast & dinner Mati the lovely lady on reception
Review 45:The front reception staff were not as welcoming or friendly as the rest of the staff at the resort.
Review 46:the resort had a real tropical and island feel. The food was really good. Live music was great and just a really nice relaxing place to stay. special mention to cookie and phillip the barmen. Beautiful people who took care of us so well.
Review 47:Value for money. Relaxing in peace and quite without screaming kids. Staff friendly, customer service, again value for money. All as advertised on website. Snorkeling trip to reef free. If you want an uncomplicated relaxing stay would recommend.
Review 48:The accomodation was adequate but much too expensive for what it was. The airport transfer was also a bit of a shambles. An agitated driver with poor communication. There were 7 people in a van that had only 5 seats so a very young child had to sit on his mother's lap in the front seat.
Review 49:Would have been nice to have wifi in room. Wifi was available around reception (paid by the hour) but once activated, the whole hr had to be used...incremental use of the hour would have been far better.
Review 50:The beachfront bure was wonderful. The room was spacious, with a balcony where you can sit and watch the tides change. Aircon and fans available. Resort itself was lovely. Wati and Philip (staff) were lovely. Shuttle to and from Naditown was cheap and very convenient.
Review 51:they had no idea of our booking. Lucky I had printed off the confirmation e-mail and got the room I booked.
Review 52:had a family room which was bigger than we thought. Also had kitchen and cooking facilities, had we known we could have bought food in town to cook ourselves.
Review 53:Dont rely on the so called airport pick up. There doesnt seem to be any communication between the management and the driver,as we twice requested a pick up through Booking .Com prior to arriving. A friendly taxi driver called them up for us as he knew the driver and THEN we got picked up
Review 54:A beautiful setting,Very restful and quiet.Staff were very helpful and friendly.would stay there again.Meals were good .Its a place thats looking its age, but it felt like a real Fiji experience. Not like the flash modern places
Review 55:I was surprised that pickups were not available from the domestic airport for international travellers coming from another Fiji Island.
Review 56:Very quiet relaxing location and all the guest seemed to enjoy being there. Everything was available to the guests, but not 'over the top' and at a reasonable cost.
Review 57:The beach was horrible, with broken glass, there is no way you would let kids go there, or you also wouldn't swim there. when we booked this we didn't realize that there was actually 2 rooms within one bungalow with thin walls.
Review 58:The grounds of the place were beautiful, and well maintained.
Review 59:A little bit isolated but free shuttle and short can from most places. A bit noisy.
Review 60:Relaxed traditional atmosphere. Food was good. Great beer and cocktail choices.
Review 61:1) Poor breakfast buffet selection 2) Poor water presure -- my hear is long and rinsing it required a long time 3) The resort suggested there was a problem wit stray dogs from the village (some guests were bitten) - either that or it was their way of recommending to take a taxi rather than walking ;-)
Review 62:1) Great seaside location, but very close to Nadi. I mean, why would you stay overnight in Nadi if you could stay at the Fiji Club Resort??? 2) Wonderful and easy to watch bird life (we have seen quite rare little kula kula birds).
Review 63:The cabin were divided into two units. The walls were very thin and any noise from the adjoining unit could be heard. Also the plumbing was very noisy whenever the toilet was used. When the shower was used the pressure pump noise was pretty loud.
Review 64:The quiet tropical location with the ocean only a few metres away.
Review 65:We loved the resorts location. A beautiful, peaceful resort, away from the craziness of everything. We got married their and couldn't have asked for a more beautiful wedding. Thank you Club Fiji we will be back
Review 66:The staff were fantastic, extremely friendly, efficient and helpful. The resort was beautiful, accommodation was exactly as advertised. It was a totally relaxed holiday.
Review 67:There are not enough sign posts to find this resort particularly if you are arriving for the first time at night.
Review 68:The free snorkelling trip was great.
Review 69:you should send your tour guide out to experience the tours, that would be very helpful for guests to have her personal feedback on all of the tours. this is common place in other places we have been. would also be nice to have some cheaper food choices and snacks. nice beach but not a great beach
Review 70:loved the rooms and the grounds, and the help
Review 71:Food and drinks were overpriced. The whole experience lacked flare and attention to detail - so much more could be done by staff. The beaches are terrible, activities very limited. Noisy at night and management that lacked personality.
Review 72:The warm weather and the Fijian staff.
Review 73:Very very noisy at night with dogs barking and someone singing loudly (praying maybe). Lack of activities for all - free snorkeling trips were cancelled, band that never turned up, no activities for children, cocktails presented poorly. Some bar staff were appalling. Power went out one day and our night time meal was compromised but there was no apology or compensation. Dirty beaches - we had to avoid constant rubbish and glass.
Review 74:The Fijian staff were lovely.
Review 75:Don't hold your breath waiting for a driver to pick you up from the airport. I stayed there twice and wasn't picked up either time. Somehow on my second stay they also lost my booking but they did put me in an upgraded room.
Review 76:Lovely clean room and helpful staff.
Review 77:No kids option on menus & quite expensive food options compared to nearby resorts. Close to locals beach hangout which can get noisy at night. Beach needs a good cleanup of rubbish.
Review 78:Close to beach. Good breakfast. Free snorkelling at reef which was excellent. Pretty cruisy atmosphere.
Review 79:Wailoaloa Beach was tranquil but not necessarily clean of rubbish on the beach, with plenty of broken glass in the sand! The setting is perfect ruined by the locals flotsam and jetsam everywhere.
Review 80:Poor communication between staff. Lacked service and enthusiasm. Few facilities. Small slightly murky pool. Overall sense of lack of care & pride in the resort. Need taxi/rental car to go anywhere.
Review 81:Location outside Denerau. Bure accommodation on beach, large grounds.
Review 82:The shower did not work properly for several days The dogs on the beach in the morning I had to rescue a jogger as they were attacking him
Review 83:The friendly helpful staff
Review 84:Packs of dogs howling late at night and around 5.30 in the morning, don,t buy beer where the shuttle driver takes you, f $80, only f $60 atthe supermarket
Review 85:Staff, atmosphere
Review 86:- driver was late for airport pick-up (and upon mentioning we're from the Netherlands he instantly asked about drugs, which felt dodgy) - could have a bit more expansive breakfast - noisy airconditioning right on the other side of the wall of the bed
Review 87:+ great place to spend 1 night on way from airport to the islands + very friendly staff + seafront location
Review 88:The manager (nevin) is an absolute disgrace, lacks the ability to smile or even recognise his guests, walks around with a chip on his shoulder. The only resort ive been to where ive never used the pool as the water was so merky (even though staff cleaned it every morning),suggesting the use of too many chemicals. We were lucky that our neighbours were considerate, however I did note that another couple were not so fortunate being awake all night due to their neighbours drinking until the early hours of the morning. A new place has opened up next door called mamasake which looks modern and operates in the 21st century unlike club Fiji (everything paper based). Taxis are over priced for tourist. Lack of info about other modes of transport at checkin
Review 89:Free snorking trip, 20 mins from resort. Cookie the barman was very friendly and a few other members of staff.
Review 90:Internet is expensive! no day rate and if you buy an hour and only use 20 mins you loose the balance. Better to go to coffee shop with free and faster internet
Review 91:staff and location from airport
Review 92:Waited over an hour for our prebooked airport pickup until we jumped in a taxi to reach the accommodation, which I made them pay for. The staff were oblivious to the fact we were arriving and offered no apology. The "resort" is located down a dirt road 15 minutes from the nearest shop where supplies can be purchased. Overall the staff are cold and very poorly trained. The rooms are very old and in dire need of refurbishment. The food was clumsily prepared and presented. Thankfully we only had one night here before heading off to the Islands. Was definately an underwhelming and disappointing introduction to Fiji. Stay elsewhere.
Review 93:We got the beachfront bure #1 which was spacious and had the standard amenities. Our bathroom had a strange smell. Breakfast was hearty & the staff were very helpful. Kuki the bartender makes great cocktails. The beach at the resort isn't suitable for swimming & the location wasn't ideal. Overall, a decent value for money resort.
Review 94:Anticipated a wider selection of fresh fruit. Hiccup with Airport pickup and no knowledge of booking made thru Booking.com. There was a mix up somewhere there, we had our confirmations
Review 95:Friendly staff, esp Emily, Annabelle,Pandora and Cookie.
Review 96:Meals just too expensive, eg $21 (as I recall) for 5 small strips of chicken on a arbitrary mix of finely cut salad vegetables. And $45 mains? If I come back I will eat elsewhere.
Review 97:Staff, location, very pleasant, the come-with breakfast was appreciated, would come back again
Review 98:One member of staff made us feel unwelcome. Seemed to be a lot more bugs in the room compared to other resorts we stayed at in fiji
Review 99:The bar staff were very friendly the evening entertainment was very good
Review 100:Everything! Had very good time there. Was nice, peaceful right on the beach. Staffs are friendly. Not too far from everywhere. And lots of water sports can choose. Will come back for sure!
Review 101:Wifi needs to be free all the time like most properties around the world. More variety for Breakfast.
Review 102:Beachfront and staff. General feel of Resort is relaxed.
Review 103:I had to carry my heavy luggage as the wheels didn't work well on the grass and sand. The roads leading to the resort was very rough and only a small sign high on a tree pointed us towards the resort.
Review 104:The owner let us checkout late and only charged us $40
Review 105:No bad experience.. however breakfast can be better particularly the buffet layout and the food options.
Review 106:Natural & beautiful environment.. free water sports, Great masseuse, free and available watersports, Very Lovely staff... a special thanks to Cookie, Pandora and Lara for making me enjoy my stay :)
Review 107:When we arrived our room wasn't ready. The bathroom was ok.
Review 108:It was a lovely bure on the beachfront. Very nice place to relax and close to town - approximately 10min. Staff were very nice and accommodating.
Review 109:Staff were really lovely, I had a one night stay by myself before heading to meet friends in the islands. They looked after me and organised a last minute taxi in the early morning when my booked taxi didn't show up. Location is lovely, close enough to Port Denarau for an early morning departure and fairly close to the airport.
Review 110:Felt like I was on a tropical island, not in some multistory hotel. Staff was very accommodating. Air did not work in our cabin, it was quickly checked and we were helped to move to another cabin. Beach was very natural and beautiful. Need water shoes as there are many shells.
Review 111:The booking made was for oceanview which is not what we got The room had 2 single beds Full of mosquitos The food was terrible and expensive The staff were unhappy and didnt want to be there We emailed a month ahead for late checkout and transfer to airport all agreed but then didnt follow through Was supposed to be special but turned out to be terrible experience Would never recommend this place at all
Review 112:very basic breakfast, bad wifi, shuttles to and from resort non-existing so have to call taxis, food very basic/average, not a great beach
Review 113:small scale, friendly staff, nice garden, quiet resort, pizza place next door, good shower available for after check-out
Review 114:WIFI not for free and still very poor quality. Location very near to the airport and noise due to flight movements
Review 115:Service very good, very friendly and flexible.
Review 116:Rude staff, charge for everything that is free in other hotels, overpriced food that just gets reheated - including breakfast. Out dated old fashioned and not clean. Resort is nothing like the pictures show. Unattractive beach views and absolutely nothing exciting happening at night or entertainment wise. bumpy dusty road to resort good distance from everywhere only hope is macdonalds is at the end of the road but is still a taxi ride away. Birds and bugs freely roam the restaurant and bures. Do not stay here!!Nothing to see or do in Nadi.
Review 117:Three days passed too fast
Review 118:Delicious cuisine, a lot of free activities like snorkeling boat trip to corral reef and sea kayaking, daily special "Fijian" events and general relaxing and calming atmosphere.
Review 119:property is somewhat worn out and needs maintenance, management seems unwilling though, huge cockroaches - not many but chances are you will find some
Review 120:outside of city, quiet beach, very friendly and helpful staff, free sports activities like snorkeling, wind surfing
Review 121:Dirty Accommodation. Not Safe. Poor Customer Service. Do not be fooled by the photographs. Suitable only for backpackers the place is dower and drab - the beach is grey with murkey water. not their fault but should not be portraying an image that it is not.
Review 122:The receptionist tried to be helpful
Review 123:Wasn't impressed with beach but I think this may have been because we were there while affected by cyclone which made water dirty and it was very windy.
Review 124:Pool and community lounge area. Television and wifi there if you need them.
Review 125:Quite dirty, the pool was discusting - we wouldnt get in, the gardens where overgrown, there where smoke buts and empty bottles strewn about the beach area.
Review 126:Location. Staff was friendly
Review 127:We had a group of 4 and sadly the edge of cyclone Pam beared down on the resort came straight in, the rooms were left unfit for purpose as the rain and wind came in the louver windows and under the doors our beds and luggage got all wet and the wind howling through the gaps was unbearable. We had the most scariest night of all out lives. There was no one at reception to help as we wanted to be moved to a safer area but there was no help available. In the morning the staff laughed when we told them about our night.
Review 128:Beach and cocktails there are good
Review 129:The location was a bit out of the way but cheap ride into Nadi & taxi booked through the hotel was cheap.
Review 130:Great staff & good entertainment, food was average .
Review 131:The pool was not very clean looking but we swam anyway and the noise from the bar kept me awake with the loud music but I was the only one in our room that heard it. We were too tired from travelling to join in. Food average for price but was fresh.
Review 132:Bar is welcoming with great cocktails, beach sun loungers right on the beach under shade and hammocks hanging from the trees, room size is generous we had adjoining rooms right on the water front with views to die for. Friendly staff very happy to help in any way. Very good place to stay after flying in and perfect location to start off a holiday. We are returning on our way home as well.
Review 133:Staff attitude and manners. Petty supplies that are usually available were rudely refused.
Review 134:The massage girl who I understand is being grossly exploited.
