Reviews for Hotel & Spa Terraza

Review 1:Poor pillows - but that seems to be the experience in Spain generally, not just the Terraza.

Review 2:The location and the staff were excellent. The views from the rooms overlooking the beach are superb.

Review 3:Sometimes the spa facilities weren't open or could not be accessed via the lift. Only a minor gripe though.

Review 4:Superb location facing beach. Lovely, spacious rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Great restaurant and bar. Very good breakfast with lots to choose from.

Review 5:The overall stay was amazing. The staff were very helpful and friendly.I would definitely stay again and have already recommend it to family and friends.

Review 6:As a vegetarian I found eating lunch or dinner at the hotel pretty much impossible. In fairness, the reception staff advised me to check with the restaurant to see whether they could facilitate me, but I found the strong fishy smells at meal times off putting. Sorry!

Review 7:Best Located Hotel in Rosas

Review 8:The bed was hard and relatively uncomfortable

Review 9:The hotel was located right next to the beach and close enough to the center of town (we walked once and drove twice). The staff were very pleasant and he spa/pool on the top floor were welcome at the end of the day.

Review 10:The only downside was a noisy neighbour one night. After telling reception in the morning they were very sympathetic and told us to call them immediately should it reoccur. Fortunately it didn't.

Review 11:Wonderful position right on the beach, very helpful and friendly staff, everywhere was spotless plus an excellent breakfast!

Review 12:Did not want to leave!

Review 13:Every member of staff is welcoming and professional. Nothing is too much trouble. Food delicious, rooms comfortable, great facilities with own private garden at the edge of the beach, tremendous value. Its been owned and run by the same family since 1935 with many staff there for 10+ years. Loads of "return guests". Tells you all you need to know! We will be back.

Review 14:That I had to leave!!! <3

Review 15:There are may Hotels Im Roses. ( Rosas) most are crowded..Lots of Party people..Many show a beach view, yet Roses is Right on the Beach.. The rooms are very quiet. The clientele there respectful as well. The beach is right outside. Rooms are very comfortalbe. The staff very professional and warm. I reserved 5 days, stayed 6. Its my 5th time there... Many choices in Roses. This is the Best. Always feels like home and hard to leave.

Review 16:No coffee/tea/kettle in rooms Ask for an ocean facing room

Review 17:Great coffee in dining room Great towels in bathroom Free water in fridge Good views Good location

Review 18:Having to leave after 7 days and the dreaded sunbed "baggers".

Review 19:Quiet location near beach, gourmet meals, friendly staff, lovely room with a sea view. Staff help with discounts on booking trips. Stunning coastline when seen from a boat.

Review 20:Went with friends for a rather special wife's birthday. Everything ran to plan and we especially liked the location. The staff at all levels were professionally friendly and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.

Review 21:cant think of a thing!

Review 22:Many hotels here in Roses however this one is not on the street but right on the beach and boardwalk.. Most of the other hotels show a beach view yet are right on the street and very noisy.. lots of partys. .etc. This hotel is very quiet.. secure.. excellent staff. friendly to me and my labrador size pooch...breakast is great and an excellent fine dining experience.

Review 23:Didn't think that either the hotel or booking.com did a very good job of explaining charges. Didn't know about dog fee until the end. Also, as a 4 star hotel, ALL beds should be double and/or queen, not twin!!!

Review 24:Thought the the breakfast was awesome and the location and beds on the beach perfect. And the bar made the best drinks.

Review 25:Our bed option wasnt available on arrival. Staff said they had emailed us 2 hours earlier while we were in transit. They offered us an upgrade to a room with a double...if we paid for it. They hand you an access card for the spa on arrival but dont tell you it costs you 15 euros a head if you enter. Beds are hard as a rock and zero pressure in the shower in our room. Forget waahing your hair.

Review 26:Location and the beach are awesome.

Review 27:There are many hotels to choose from in Roses, Spain. HOWEVER most show nice beach views yet are over nosey streets or the rooms themselves poorly insulated and many rooms in hotel.. plain nosey and party hotels. Terraza is quiet.. on the beach classy. Great spa and great city view from roof pool ..also a pool on the lower level. Staff friendly .. pet friendly ..clean and oh so cozy!!

Review 28:Loved this hotel. No charge for parking, breakfast included in the nightly rate. We had a room with lovely balcony and heard the sea lapping as we went to sleep. Only 20 metres from the sea and just a boardwalk in between. The restaurant is first class and staff very friendly.

Review 29:BEDSIDE LAMP NOT WORKING ON READING MODE ONLY SHOWER AREA VERY NEW BUT NEEDS A FACILITY FOR PERSONAL SOAP ETC WITHOUT HAVING TO BEND TO THE FLOOR; SMOKE ALARM FLASHED FOR 2 tOTOPNIGHTS ;;REPORTED AND TOLD NORMAL!!!! NOT IN OUR SYSTEMS

Review 30:QUIET HOTEL WITH STAFF READY TO HELP BUT NOT INTRUSIVE. Bistro an added attraction WITH GOOD QUALITY BUT LIGHTER FOOD AND CHOICE;

Review 31:Nothing

Review 32:This is a really well run and professional set up with a great location. Highlights are hygiene, facilities and excellent breakfast. Do yourself a favour and pay the extra and stop here.

Review 33:Our son is egg alergic and the breakfast staff did not give us any option to give to our son as breakfast. The hotel staff and the management/owners did not make us feel like home, they are not friendly. Hair dryer of the room is not a regular hair dryer, no power no hot air enought to dry any hair. We asked for another one and they said they did not have any. For sure we will not repeat.

Review 34:The restaurant is excelent and the staff of it too! The best of the hotel.

Review 35:First experience of using a spa for a massage..;a bit disappointed, certainly did not feel relaxed especially with the irritating background music.

Review 36:Beautiful location, staff friendly and always courteous.Sevice excellent. All meals eaten within the hotel either main restautant or bistro. Choice adequate and quality very good. More than enough sitting/lounging areas if one wanted to be quiet.

Review 37:Fairly impersonal staff in reception. Our room was not sea facing & one would need to pay extra for that

Review 38:Ease of access to the beach, promenade & town centre

Review 39:Restaurant was expensive, not amazing food. No lotion or conditioner in the bathroom. Limited number of lawn chairs. Hotel guests put a towel on them in the am and they sit there "reserved" with a towel but unused and there's no remaining chairs for you to use.

Review 40:Great location. On beach with a private pool and two private grassy areas. Great breakfast with lots of options. Easy walking to many possible options in town. Bikes you can use to go around (note they are basic with no gears).

Review 41:Breakfast staff serving the breakfast Position

Review 42:spa situation pres du centre

Review 43:Food very very good, location right on the beach.

Review 44:Beds a bit hard. Lots of room noise from other guests.

Review 45:Staff very friendly especially at breakfast.

Review 46:some cleanness issues tiles & floor

Review 47:location & services

Review 48:Issues with the WiFi that continually disconnected.

Review 49:Superb location overlooking beach

Review 50:The location, the breakfast, the pool, ..

Review 51:dinner at the hotel restaurant; overpriced and poor quality for any price, however the staff was very nice

Review 52:the room balcony

Review 53:Garden close to the see too small to accomodate all the interested guests

Review 54:Hotel which is not too big

Review 55:Bed not very comfortable

Review 56:Spa facilities were excellent and free bikes to explore the area!

Review 57:Great location in Roses and the property is immaculate in every way!

Review 58:Bed could have been softer.

Review 59:Location and ocean view.

Review 60:Price, air Condition

Review 61:Perfect Location. Really good breakfeast, nice Restaurant. Free bikes. I Love it,

Review 62:Amazing staff, clean, best location in town.

Review 63:Would have preferred an a la carte menu.

Review 64:Room with a sea view and breakfast

Review 65:Not a bad experience but the hairdryer was poor - only 1 heat setting and control

Review 66:Fab location

Review 67:The position of the hotel, the friendly staff and the evening meals which were superb. The Spa facilities were also excellent.

Review 68:Everything. The rooms were very quie. It was just a wonderful evening with excellent food, wine and entertainment.

Review 69:Everythimg

Review 70:The Internet hardly ever worked.

Review 71:Grumpy old mama at reception.air conditioner was faulty.

Review 72:Breakfast, beach, walk to town. Most staff.

Review 73:poor

Review 74:Sometimes a little noisy early in the morning.

Review 75:Staff, service, amenities, Spa, pool, Would stay here again anytime.

Review 76:The shower in the bathroom a little awkward to use and could possibly need updating in certain areas this said I'm being picky and you could smell cigaret smoke in certain areas not in my room I may add.(this is Spain after all)

Review 77:I had a ocean view room that was very nice the staff were very polite And helpful I ate in the restaurant and the staff and food were wonderful traveling on my own I didn't feel alone, I had a very enjoyable stay and would recomend staying here again but for me having a sea view and having the sound of the ocean helped lull me off to a great nights sleep, I would recomend this hotel highly as a excellent welcoming haven and will certainly be booking in again in the not to distant future with my wife as we drive from the UK to our holiday home in Andalucia a genuine family owned and run hotel with that personal touch you just don't get in the larger chain hotels, Thank you

Review 78:The Jacuzzi needs to be hotter...They could improve on the ammenities in the bathrooms..Robes need to be softer...too rough...breakfast..Eggs are ony sunny up..no ther choice..Too runny for me..Need to offer scramble or omlelets as well. otherwize..great.!

Review 79:This is or second time staying at Terraza!!! I am from Hawaii. I missed the ocean. Both of our stays here, our rooms 100 meters from the Med Sea.. the sound of the waves wonderful. This trip we treated ourselves to a Suite. Wonderfully designed...Light canceling drapes made sleeping in easy. The hotel located walking distance to many restaurants...great to sit and watch the sunset on your balcony. Staff very friendly. WE will stay here whenever in Roses!!

Review 80:cant think of anything

Review 81:Our room was located right on the oceanfront. The bed was extremely comfortable..the bathroom well designed .All very modern and very clean Breakfast was included and very abundant. The Terrazza is very quiet. Located within walking distance to many restaurants or perfect for a drink on the beach or on your lovely pation.

Review 82:Lack of shampoo, conditioner. body cream in bathroom. Room with very poor views. No trays at breakfasts. awful coffee at breakfast.

Review 83:very clean, quiet. elegant relaxing beautiful gardens, well positioned.

Review 84:Very minor points - Toilet was a small frosted glass door away from main bedroom. A bit strange at first, but you get used to it. No iron available, but only 25EUR in town and you have a decent one!

Review 85:Excellent hotel, hard to fault anything. No hidden extras like with some other places - use of safe, spa facilities, parking, mineral water in mini bar, daily sun lounger towels, wifi - all included. Excellent restaurant. Hotel 10 seconds walk from the beach! Very friendly staff - not all with great English, but reception spoke English well. But then the town of Roses is more geared for Spanish and French holidaymakers anyway. Overall, one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. Highly recommend.

Review 86:Small hard beds. Although Airconditi control in the room it is over ridden by hotel and all rooms had heat . Unbearably hot. Slept with doors wide open but still too hot. Needs sorted. Cramped bathrooms

Review 87:Only one night so a convenient stop right on the beach

Review 88:Staff all very helpful. reception staff and serving. The lady from Uruguay (don't know her name) who serves breakfast, is very special. Trainees should be made to watch her working she is so good.

Review 89:Would prefer to be able to have my little dog with me for breakfast butthis is not normally allowed in Spain (unlike in France).

Review 90:Always welcoming, well positioned clean and comfy. Our fifth visit onthe way to/from south of spain.

Review 91:Not enough spa facilities for the number of guests. Also no toiletries in the room and the only option for dinner was a 50 euro buffet. Think the rooms could do with updating. We weren't given the option for a twin or double.

Review 92:Friendly spa staff. Good location.

Review 93:As we stayed only three days (2 nights) in winter season, we chose Terraza Hotel for the Spa, but they did not mention that the Spa was closed on Sundays and Mondays (we stayed there from Sunday to Tuesday). But they made an effort for opening their pool and their jacuzzi for my sister and myself at Monday evening, for private use. Thank them a lot.

Review 94:The friendliness of the staff at the Desk, the great seaview from the room very close to the sea, and the delicious meal of very good meat and salad. Breakfast was good with enough choice for everyone (pastry, fresh fruit, brewed eggs, bacon, different bread and flakes, cheese etc.). They have a very good kitchen.

Review 95:200 kms to Roses. Again another very hot days driving but lovely scenery. We arrived at Hotel Terraza in Roses about 1530. Friendly reception and our open-top car was quickly put away in an underground car park. Our room was facing the sea and had a good balcony. The room was just adequate in size and it had AirCon. There was a smell of stale tobacco smoke. The TV had two BBC channels which was a plus. The weather was hot but there was a gale force wind blowing which did not seem to put off the many beach goers. The hotel has its own sunbed area on the beach and we were lucky to find a sheltered spot under a tree for a couple of hours relaxing which we needed.Roses is a very busy, noisy and brash seaside resort. Quite a contrast from the quiet reserve of the Pyrenees. There is a promenade along the seafront, both ways, for as long as the eye can see, which is a great asset to any seaside resort. The promenade is full of walkers, runners, cyclists, hawkers, rollerbladers, pushchairs and kids on scooters.Free WiFi was promised but I could not get it working. After twenty minutes or so assuming it was my fault I asked at reception and was told that their " connection failed". How long for, I wondered. It came on again about four hours later. We thought we would try the hotel dinner this evening, and we decided on the bar menu instead of the full restaurant menu. We both had an excellent Dublin Bay prawn salad starter with a nicely cooked and tender T-bone steak.Day 5We stayed two nights at the Terraza. The buffet Breakfast was excellent. Eating outside on the terrace means you are out with the smokers. Not pleasant.A chill-out day on the sunbeds near the beach. One criticism is that there is insufficient shade for people like me who don't like to sit out in the full glare of the sun. That's also the case on the fifth floor pool and jacuzzi.Sangria and paella for dinner just down the promenade about a hundred metres or so.

Review 96:The food available for dinner was in my view over-priced for the quality of food which was mediocre. There was a very limited a la carte menu and the set menu did not live up to expectation. The service in the restaurant in the evening was poor, the next course appeared before the previous course was finished.

Review 97:The sea-view from the bedroom was lovely and the bedroom was clean and comfortable. There were no problems finding a sunned to use in the garden and a plentiful supply of fresh towels. The breakfast buffet had a good range of food which was regularly topped up.

Review 98:I loved everything except my bed was too hard.

Review 99:I loved the design & layout of the Terraza the beautiful materials used also the anceint ornaments all very well chosen. The tapas is excellent & staff very good. Infact I couldn't fault it.

Review 100:Most of the staff is friendly and professional with the exception of onereceptionist who should really find a job in a different business. Theglass pane protecting the shower water from splashing onto the floor isreally short, so it's hard not to make a mess when showering. Room doorsare far from being sound proof, so if you're a light sleeper get someearplugs if you don't want to be awoken in the morning by peoplechatting on the corridor.

Review 101:Rich breakfast, free WiFi (even though it's a pain to log in), nice roomfor a Spanish hotel, good location.

Review 102:Roses is a delightful beach town and Terraza is in a perfect locationright on the boardwalk with its own protected grass area for sun-bathingand beach access. Easy parking, nice pool, good restaurants and all theamenities anyone would want. A great find.

Review 103:Continental style breakfast with the addition of cooked eggs andsausage, probably not enough hot food choice for my taste. The hotelhave promotions on their rates and these were not made available throughbooking.com You may want to check before booking.

Review 104:Excellent service and food, a little expensive but the quality was thereto be seen and enjoyed. Brilliant location right on the beach withsunbeds in its own private garden.

Review 105:The hotel has every kind of facilities, including free wireless network, fitness center, spa, etc. The mattress of the bed was of the healthy type: predominantly hard. The hotel is right at the beach; hence, there is a nice view of the sea. The staff of the hotel was very kind at every moment.

Review 106:Breakfast could have been better

Review 107:It was to us the best placed hotel in Rosas

Review 108:The only thing that ruined the stay was air con not turned on yet room very hot to sleep in.

Review 109:Location. Also they allow pets.

Review 110:A bit impersonal, not very romantic. The rooms are on the small side.

Review 111:Magnificent view from the rooms oriented towards the ocean.

Review 112:Very noisy at night due to closeness of other hotels.

Review 113:Close to the beach and town center, easy to get to

Review 114:Excellent and friendly service

Review 115:Nothing, all good

Review 116:Very friendly & helpful staff, great breakfasts, top location & free parking

Review 117:Pricey. No air-con at the time we were there.

Review 118:Friendly staff. Beautiful location. Excellent facilities.

Review 119:Very basic room, airco was not working yet, at the back no view, breakfast very poor especially the space.

Review 120:At the beach and fo staff very friendly

Review 121:Chamber should be upgraded to four stars level .

Review 122:Very nice staff ; the location; the scenic view; the spa and its people ..

Review 123:friendly atmosphere

Review 124:The breakfast could have been better.

Review 125:The location & the bicycles was a nice touch
