Reviews for Club Alpina - Champagny-en-Vanoise
Review 1:We were 10 and got the 6rooms/12 people apartment, which in my opinion can fit max 10 people, so you can actually use the dining table. There were 2 very small toilets without a sink, and 2 bathrooms with just shower and sink; the shower cabins are very small! One of the bedrooms had a shower cabin inside. Walls were very thin and provide no sound insulation at all. We had no place to dry the gloves and the ski equippment. The dish washer was leaking. Ski pass information is not always accurate, so double check before you pay. Also as a ski area Champagny and La Plagne in general was not good. The ski lift opening time was delayed to 9:30 and 10:00 in 2 of the days (the days with good weather!!!) and its the only way to get up. Slopes were not prepared after heavy snow and ski chair lifts did not have a wind screen which made them very uncofortable during bad weather. Les Arcs looked much better but it took very long to get there from Champagny so we could only spend 2 hours there. Food on the mountain can be good or bad depending where you go, quite few restaurants and quite small. Apre-ski was almost non existing in this place when we were there in January.
Review 2:Great location just next to the ski lift and the center of Chanmapy, clean and decently equipped, free parking. Great sauna and hamman for free and jacuzzi for just 7 euro for the whole thing (6 people could fit in it confortably). Staff very friendly. Overall great value for money. There was also a lot og untouched snow and off-piste area to explore on the mountain.
Review 3:Wifi connection was lousy at more distant rooms, close to reception OK.
Review 4:Nice hotel, practical appartments, in the very center of village, friendly staff spoke good English. Good sauna!
Review 5:for the price paid, we had nothing to complain about
Review 6:Great budget apart hotel we enjoyed our three night stay, in the centre of village very close to everything
Review 7:Good location and high performance/ price ratio. Staffs friendly and helpful.
Review 8:Cozy rooms, good facilities (sauna, jacuzzi), good restaurant, very friendly owners
Review 9:Excellent location, great apartments and a very comfortable stay. Staff were very friendly and on hand for lift passes and local knowledge.
Review 10:the location near the skilift and the large ski area and ofcourse the appartment and owners of it.
Review 11:You could do your own catering but still have all the facilities of the Hotel.
Review 12:Everything was fine, great relaxing place. Nice decoration.!
Review 13:Good facilities, very friendly personnel.
Review 14:Many stairs to climb to our apartment although most apartments are accessible from the lift.
Review 15:Location, friendly owners and hotel facilities combined with self catering apartments.
Review 16:Fantastic position overlooking the lovely village of Champagny, and across the road from the chairlift. Rene and Genevieve are kind and helpful, and upgraded us to a larger unit when we arrived. The units have everything you need and the heated pool is a treat.
Review 17:Our stay was too short ;-)
Review 18:The people working there were really nice and welcoming, the aparment we got was clean, well equipped, with a great view over the mountains. We didn't have time to check the facilities but the swimming pool looked nice. I would definitely recommand the place.
Review 19:The hosts were fantastic, very friendly. It's 50 meters from skislope, the view is great. Everything was clean, we would definitely goagain or recommend our friends.
Review 20:A lot of stairs because we traveled with baby, sometimes it was a problem. Especially for my wife.
Review 21:\It's better to say not hotel, but residence. I like the location and the rooms. It's best place for skiers in Champagny - very comfortable access to ski lift.
Review 22:Club Alpina is a pretty building full of apartments of varying sizes. It is family run and operates more like an hotel with facilities to match. All staff are helpfull and friendly. It is the closest accomodation to the village's telecabine lift to the ski area and the 2 return pistes. All apartements are well equipped for self catering although the in house restaurant and bar are very good. Other bars and restaurants are very close.
Review 23:Like all french ski accommadation bit cramped I had 2 person room butstruggled for room last year had 3 person room just right would I bookagain yes you get what you pay for
Review 24:Value for money
Review 25:Club Alpina is always very welcoming. The owners are always veryhelpful nothing is too much trouble for them. The lift station is only a few hundred metres from the hotel which is great. The swimming pool, hamman and jacuzzi are wonderful as well.
Review 26:We have been going to the Alpina for about 10 years. We like having the option of self catering but have all the bar restaurant facilities as well. It is also the closest to the tele cabin and Rene the owner is a super host
Review 27:Not so much about Club Alpina but we didn't have any cleaning products and the local shops were not open in the afternoon (probably because it was the end of the season). An welcome pack would be useful for these little bits of local information. The kitchen was small even with six of us so it would be a squeeze with 12 if more than 1 person was doing the cooking so we cooked in shifts.
Review 28:Fantastic value for money for the end of season. We were upgraded to a 12-bed room. There was a pool and an sauna all included. The manager was very helpful when he was available.
Review 29:As ski accommodation, I doubt that this place can be beaten. Theapartment we stayed in was spacious and very well kitted out. It is alsovery close to the ski lift up to La Plagne. We stayed in the summer whenthe view over the piste and ski lift centre is not so appealing and youneed a car to access the more attractive walking areas. However, thatwas perhaps reflected in the price we paid, which seemed to us very goodvalue for money. We will definitely stay here again if we go skiing inthe area, although I suspect it gets booked up very quickly.
Review 30:Drink prices in bar a bit on the expensive side.Swimming pool a littlesmall but would be ok in summer.
Review 31:Opposite the Ski Lifts and only a stones throw away from ski school andkindergarden, Staff very freindly and free car parking outside. Hotelitself was very Good, Location perfect,
Review 32:Not a quality food, out bathroom smells
Review 33:Great place, , location on slope
Review 34:Cosy and quiet mountain hotel. Close to National park.
Review 35:typical french appartment booked a 2 person appt for 1 upgraded too 3 person appt ok for 2 struggle with 3
Review 36:location and price
