Reviews for La Closerie Saint Jacques

Review 1:nothing

Review 2:Jerome made us feel very welcome on arrival and was an excellent all round host during our stay. The room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The homemade breakfast was wonderful, especially the yogurts. This was by far the best place (excl. Chateau de Pray which is hugely expensive hotel) we stayed at during our 10 day trip and ironically it was the cheapest. I definitely recommend it!

Review 3:La Closerie is not a hotel. It is one of the best B & Bs we have ever stayed at. Jacques Fortier and the staff will do everything they can to make you comfortable. The simple country breakfast (no steak and eggs here) is both pleasing and satisfying.

Review 4:Everything was perfect!

Review 5:I cannot say enough good things about The Closerie.....One of the loveliest places I have ever stayed at! This place is a real treat! Such charm and comfort! Jerome is a such a lovely host.......I am going back again in January....

Review 6:We were very well received by the owner and were lead to the most luxuriously decorated rooms. I really felt I had gone to heaven. The breakfast served was exquisite. I could've lingered for hours. We were right next to the Royal City Fortress and parking was also next to LaCloserie Saint Jacques. I will recommend it to all my friends and return again soon with other family members. Honestly, the nicest B&B I've ever stayed in.

Review 7:c'est un choix trés personel

Review 8:-the care and attention of Jerome for his guests and his house - the personalized breakfast in front of a chimney - for us, the decoration of our room was so unusual - despite the age of the house with its cracking staircase the equipment was modern and well hidden - acces à une bibliothéque d'art et d'histoire - si vous aimez une demeure exceptionelle avec caractère et style et si vous ne craigniez pas les fantômes, c'est là où il faut aller....

Review 9:All was perfect! Warm welcome and helpful information. Two living rooms for guests and a lovely garden. Fireplace in breakfast room set for chilly mornings. Room are gorgeous - opulent decor as if Napolean will arrive any minute. Excellent plumbing and no expense spared to make it a wonderful experience. Great towels, bathrobes and even slippers, bottled water and wine glasses. Incredible experience and location, especially or the price. Loches is gorgeous and location is perfect for touring chateaux and history. Note that few restaurants are open Sunday night and Jerome had to call 10 before he could get us a booking - but he did it willingly! Fabulous! Excellent! Perfect!!

Review 10:Nothing

Review 11:Beautifully renovated old building in the centre of the Cite Royale of Loches three hours from Caen. Beautifully furnished, too - and very comfortable. A restaurant within easy walking distance arranged for us. Secure parking. Very friendly and accommodating. Will certainly stay here again.

Review 12:The owners were very welcoming, helpful and courteous ...and Goya was our favourite dog !

Review 13:The hosts were wonderful and helpful and the breakfast was superb! The decor is especially nice - very comfortable and glamorous

Review 14:Warm, elegant , hospitality at its best

Review 16:The style and thé warm welcom

Review 17:It's close to the centre of town, the decoration is pleasing, the breakfast is good. An excellent stopover.

Review 18:Friendly & helpful host. Superb breakfasts. Excellent location Charming 17 Century House Free parking next door Comfortable WiFi

Review 19:Very friendly and helpful owner, comfortable room, good breakfast and great location. Highly recommended.

Review 20:Everything was superb - attention to detail excellent, tranquil and elegant. Beautiful building, room was superb, breakfast excellent. Thoroughly relaxing stay and we will definitely be going back.

Review 21:Although very central, it's not well signed and was hard to find. Paying! It came as a shock that they don't take cards. On our final morning we had to scrabble round, and find a cash machine for more cash.

Review 22:The room with antique furniture Breakfast with home-made jams, etc in the garden Welcoming service

Review 23:I found it a bit difficult to locate.

Review 24:The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful yet in a discreet way. Our room was wonderfully furnished and decorated in an antique style that 'themed' with the royal city of Loches. Tired from travelling we lounged in the sunshine in the little garden. It was very peaceful and quiet and great taste everywhere.

Review 25:Absolutely nothing no to like!

Review 26:The architectural and interior design elements of this historic property, plus the attention to detail are evident in every square inch (centimeter?!) of this immaculately cared for B&B. Each morning, the breakfast room greeted us with a different table setting, and a variety of home-made jams, baked goods, and yogurts! The location in the Loire Valley, plus historic town of Loches, make this B&B the ONLY place you should consider for your Loire Valley vacation. We will definitely tell all of our friends, and hope to return soon!

Review 27:The room would have been enhanced with the addition of coffee making facilities and a carafe of drinking water.

Review 28:We had an excellent overnight stay and thoroughly enjoyed the history and antiquity of La Closerie Saint Jacques. The bed was luxurious and extremely comfortable. Our breakfast was beautifully presented and served by a crackling fire. It set us up for the drive to the ferry.

Review 29:Enjoyed the stay very much - would have liked to have had more time there. If I had to nit pick, the water temp in the shower was inadequate.

Review 30:The rooms were lovely and comfortable and our host was extremely helpful and eager to please; breakfast was very generous and the fire provided warmth and a lovely ambience.
