Reviews for Luccotel
Review 1:Having pre-dinner drinks proved to be problematic. The Bar didn't have our first choices of orange juice or a particular beer . Nor did they have any ice for our replacement choice of Ricard
Review 2:Good location with convenient parking. Centre of town walkable. Restaurant good average food
Review 3:Breakfast was run of the mill, the restaurant has pretensions but really is pretty mediocre, good wine list though . Very busy when we stayed and the staff were very efficent
Review 4:Easy walk to the town, good view, plenty of parking good wifi, secure bike store.
Review 5:Two of the staff in the restaurant were excellent, however the third was unbelievably arrogant and rude. She was haughty, made no eye contact and seemed to resent having to serve us. She appeared equally rude to everyone. It was laughable.
Review 6:We liked Almost everything. Great setting, good facilities, mostly friendly and helpful staff. Food in the restaurant was very good.
Review 7:restaurant staff unfriendly. waitresses unhelpful in restaurant.
Review 8:good quality food in restaurant. lovely terrace. good pool and garden. breakfast very good.
Review 9:Beautiful views, lovely clean hotel with good facilities - excellent value for money Wish we had tried the restaurant in the evening as the breakfast was great
Review 10:Loches is expensive to dine out.Luccotel Restaurant did not offer a varied menu expensive cuisine, without value for money.
Review 11:External chalets excellent for stopovers and touring clients. Nice pool and garden offering breathtaking views of town.
Review 12:Motel room was small and very tired the rooms in hotel must have been better.
Review 13:The staff were very good the hotel overlooked the town which was lovely, a must to walk around. The food was very good tasty and well presented served on a lovely terrace with great views. Under the terrace there was a nice swimming pool. I would stay there again but next time make sure I was in the hotel not motel.
Review 14:Food in restaurant was a big failure, undercooked and poor quality beef. Desert was bought in frozen form, and sponge and tipping was semi hard... I have used thousands of hotels Worldwide for the past 45 years both for business and pleaure - this one sadly fails the test. No further food taken in the hotel as a result of this. Charged full prices for sub standard fare. Very disappointing.
Review 15:Staff attentive and with the exception of the Restaurant food which was not to acceptable standards.
Review 16:Quite basic room in the motel/ annexe but still ok as it had everything we needed and more importantly it had air-con as the temp during the day hit 37*
Review 17:Perfect for an overnight stop while travelling down through France. Will go back because the town of Loches sounded quite lovely. Air -con was great.
Review 18:This was a good hotel, but the night we stayed there the staff were rather overwhelmed by a large party and had difficulty in coping with bar, reception and meals at the same time. I am sure that on a normal day they would have been much better.
Review 19:We stayed in the annex. It was cheap and okay. There is no internet in the annex which is a bit annoying when you need to plan the next day of travels. Good value for the money though.
Review 20:you get exactly what you pay for. A bit outside the centre and we had difficulties finding an over priced taxi to take us from the train station in pooring rain. We could have used the extra 20 euros on taxi to and from the station on a hotel closer to the centre.
Review 21:Room basic and old-fashioned furnishings. Too hot overnight & unable to adjust heater. Stayed on a Sunday & restaurant closed for dinner
Review 22:Hotel in good convenient location. Public rooms appeared pleasant but unable to experience them because of evening check-in on a Sunday
Review 23:Evening 'welcome' was poor - very unhelpful - all too much trouble. Restaurant booking ....'we can just fit you in at the end'! Menu please - 'its on the front door'! Head waiter - !?! Coffee - didn't arrive. ( Could have been the coach party, but that doesn't excuse! )
Review 24:Food was excellent, both dinner and breakfast. Lovely terrace / views over Loches. Great parking / location / access. Lovely morning staff.
Review 25:The motel room room we were given was very dated and a little smelly. We asked for a better room which was not so much better but cost another 17 euro's. The restaurant is pleasant enough but most UK travellers would find it hard to choose anything from the menu.
Review 26:The room. The staff. the evening meal. Pretentious and poor value for money.. the fact that we were overcharged by 17€ and no apologies when we asked for the Bill to be corrected.. we will not be going back!!
Review 27:The location.the parking.
Review 28:The receptionist was unhelpful to say the least and talking with other Brits we all had trouble with her attitude. Luckily we all had a sense of humour and could compare her with Basil Fawlty! The rooms were basic and could do with an upgrade particularly the bathroom, ok for overnight stay but wouldn't want to stay much longer. Disappointed in dinner menu as no fixed price menu which is common to most restaurants in France and no amuse bouche!
Review 29:The terrace has a fantastic view of the chateau so a lovely place for a drink, prices for drinks were very reasonable. Stayed in the motel and liked being able to park right outside the door so easy access to luggage. Staff in dining room friendly and helpful. Good breakfast buffet with lots of choice. Good indoor pool with access to garden.
Review 30:Forty min wait from time of order until bread and wine arrived coach party served prior to us which was unacceptable, waiting staff overwhelmed
Review 31:View and reception staff excellent
Review 32:It's a good, quiet and efficient hotel. You would have to look hard to find fault.
Review 33:The location, Loches, is a superb town, with plenty to interest the artist, architect or, of course, the historian. Facilities close to the hotel - large supermarket, etc., are very good. The town offers many opportunities for more specialised shopping and a very good choice of cafés and restaurants. Luccotel, Loches, is a good stopover hotel, being within easy reach of the Channel ports in Normandy. Equally, if you like France and the French, this is an ideal place to stay for a few days.
Review 34:The smell in the rooms.
Review 35:Loved the terrace and garden with all the sports facilities and wonderful view. Appreciated the air-conditioning in the rooms.
Review 36:This is our second stay here. The hotel is good value for money. Some of the staff are excellent. The location is perfect, being both handy for arrival by personal transport, and not far to walk to the town centre. There is ample free parking. Also a spacious terrace.
Review 37:We regularly stay at the Luccotel What makes it is the view overlooking Loches. Food is really good and staff very helpful. Décor is looking a little sad and the outside a little tired but we will be back again. Good value for money and location the best in town.
Review 38:Fairly basic room
Review 39:Very friendly staff and best meal we had for 9 days in France
Review 40:A couple of waitresses could have been more professional
Review 41:Facilities. Very good value for money. Excellent views over Lochs.
Review 42:charged for adult meal instead of childs.choices a little limited.
Review 43:children enjoyed swimming pool, rooms next to each other as requested
Review 44:I wouldn't let my dog sleep in those rooms let alone humans
Review 45:Nothing awful couldn't wait to leave
Review 46:Evening meal was not good value for money I expect better from Logis hotels.
Review 47:It was OK
Review 48:very good food and value for money
Review 49:Serving very Staff could be. A little friendly
Review 50:Price , tennis, pool and easy going place
Review 51:Pleasant hotel, convenient location for overnight stay when travelling up/down France.
Review 52:Ran out of croissants at breakfast - not good at 10 euros a head!
Review 53:Easy parking, lovely grounds and could walk into town centre
Review 54:The dinner and views
Review 55:Service in the restaurant very slow and poor.
Review 56:Bed was very comfy, very clean, swimming pool very nice. Very relaxing stay
Review 57:THE RESTAURANT FOOD EXCELLENT
Review 58:Ideally situated, with ample parking and good facilities. Very helpful staff.
Review 59:The breakfast - no-one greeted us or spoke to us. The choice of food was very basic.
Review 60:The staff on reception were very helpful and efficient.
Review 61:we used the sauna - not realising you had to pay for it..
Review 62:Good value
Review 63:very little
Review 64:comfortable, very clean, plenty of parking
Review 65:The pool
Review 66:. easy booking convenient good value comfortable room
Review 67:Excellent food and service
Review 68:Nothing
Review 69:Swimming pool Terrace and great views Food and service
Review 70:nothing.
Review 71:great location nice pool, good food and excellent service.
Review 72:room is small; shower is small and difficult to step into; restaurant food was average and overpriced
Review 73:easy parking; room was clean, quiet, and the beds were comfortable; nice little bar area and outside patio
Review 74:Room basic
Review 75:We use this hotel as a stover on our way to Caen from Carcassonne so the car is always full . We choose this hotel because we can park our car directly outside our room when booking the motel type rooms . Food is excellent .
Review 76:Only one towel and one cup in the room. Motel rooms are a bit dingy, only window in one corner, pretty basic but somewhat expected given the lower tariff. Wifi not available in motel rooms, had to go to main building to access it.. Inconvenient.
Review 77:Clean and tidy, simple check in/out, friendly bar/reception staff.
Review 78:Nothing.
Review 79:Friendly and very helpful staff. Good facilities and comfortable at the price. Position very good for us in this area and also for times when we are travelling from ferry ports in N W France to the S of the country. Easy access off the Loches bypass.
Review 80:Very good location - a short walk to the town centre, but also easy access by car. Good facilities, and excellent value for money, including free onsite parking.
Review 81:Change to evening menu meant they no longer offer a fixed price 2 or 3 course menu. This is unusual in France and it always offers good value for money. Found the choice limited and quite expensive also no amusee de Bouche another loss. Will probably eat elsewhere if we stay again.
Review 82:Good pool and garden to sunbathe. Motel rooms give good access to car and good value for money. Fantastic views from terrace over chateau and town. Good breakfast.
Review 83:Room a bit faded. Tiles on bathroom floor had black edges. Bed ok but pillows small and lumpy.
Review 84:Beautiful views from terraces behind hotel. Large grounds and swimming pool behind glass sliding doors. Convenience of motel style, car just outside room. Surprisingly quiet. Ten minute walk into centre of Loches which is vey picturesque.
Review 85:Restaurant this time fully booked for dinner had to drive into Loches for meal. Expensive for moderate room not worth the detour. Will not stop there again.
Review 86:I have stayed at hotel over 10 times before good food & swimming pool
Review 87:Reception poor got type of room booked wrong Forgot I had reserved atable for dinner Food was very poor. New chef Had to send main courseback Complained about food but this did not get any response We hadstayed here 6 times before and it had been good, but no longer it seems. So our last visit to this hotel
Review 88:Location Good for stopping on trip south
Review 89:The room was extremely basic. No comfortable chairs especially important if you are an older traveller. Comfortable doesn't have to mean expensive. We have stayed in some super budget accommodation all over the world and the furnishings although basic have been well thought out for traveller's comfort.
Review 90:Clean cheap accommodation for an overnight stop
Review 91:Chalet rooms are clean and functional, reasonably priced and ideal for a stopover. For a longer stay I would think the rooms in the main building would be preferable.
Review 92:Very helpful staff. Restaurant and terrace have good views over the town. Parking no problem. Although not very close to the town centre it was an easily walkable distance down a couple of pleasant streets.
Review 93:We thought that 10 euro each was rather expensive for breakfast and it would have been better if there was wifi access in the 'independent' rooms .
Review 94:The hotel has great views over Loches. The food was superb and the staff friendly. We liked the fact that we could park our car outside our room . The bar area was pleasant and the free wifi access a bonus . The location was good for us as an overnight stop on our way to Le Havre . Will definitely be using this hotel again and would recommend it .
Review 95:Walk up hill from the town may not suit anyone arriving on foot. Bedsidelights bit too dim for easy reading in bed. [As is usual in hotels].Twin beds a bit too close together - really just a double in two halves!Same menus every night- ideal for one night stopovers but bit'samey' by the fourth night. I suppose we could have gone intotown if we wanted to! Wifi signal was a bit weak at our end of thecorridor! These are all very minor quibbles!
Review 96:This was a return visit after a [approx] 20 year gap. We were notdisappointed, Lovely friendly staff who tolerated our bad French butmany speak good English themselves. Good edge of town location suitedus - large hotel car park, lovely views over the town andchateau/castle. Clean room and bathroom, adequate storage forclothing and suitcases, good spare pillows provided. A minor plumbingproblem was fixed within ten minutes of being reported. Very good foodwith different priced menus and choice of starter and main, main anddesert, or all three. Or more! Free wifi in public areas and mostbedrooms. Computer available for free use in one public room.Excellent breakfast - typical continental buffet with lots of choices.[But did cost €10]. Would happily go back! [Nb Ask for a roomoverlooking the castle]
Review 97:The hotel is conveniently located for visiting the chateaux of the region. Parking is provided. Loche is low-key, but there are some reasonable restaurants.
Review 98:The restaurant remains excellent: choices are good, including 'specials' for the Easter break and we like the pricing system (with meals priced according to the number of courses you have).
Review 99:All you needed in pleasant green site
Review 100:No tea/coffee making facilities in the bedrooms
Review 101:Good location, friendly atmosphere. Excellent food
Review 102:Beautiful views of the town from the garden and patio. Conveniently close to the town. Would happilly stay again.

Review 104:the food
Review 105:Breakfast is too expensive
Review 106:Price, location, view, restaurant, swimming pool, simple but clean room, bath, car park
Review 107:Was told on arrival restaurant full. Long walk to town to seek food.
Review 108:Clean rooms & convenient location.
Review 109:Rooms need to be refresh! Dirty painting, old and dirt brochures, bad smell in the room,... No wifi in the outside rooms!
Review 110:Nice welcoming Location
Review 111:Whilst the restaurant was excellent there was a limited menu and the breakfast was served in the bar
