Reviews for Logis Hôtel De France
Review 1:A classic French hotel. Old and hence a little tired in places but, for us, a much more enjoyable experience than an out of town chain. Situated in the heart of a beautiful town.
Review 2:Bathroom was stuck in the corner with 3/4 height partition walls. Old & dingy fittings with the wallpaper peeling from the wall! It needs a modern bathroom to do the place justice.
Review 3:Old fashioned & historic style hotel in the centre of town with bags of charm & character. Very clean & comfortable sized room with a balcony overlooking the road in front. Old fashioned décor & furnishings with wallpaper, wooden floorboards & rugs.
Review 4:Not a bad experience at all, but if you don't like town centres with secure parking and direct access to the Saturday market with fantastic local cheeses, don't go!
Review 5:We stayed here 27 years ago. It was delightful to return. Friendly welcome, lovely restaurant, beautifully clean room. Ideally situated in the centre of one of the most beautiful towns of the Loire.
Review 6:The hotel was located in a traditional picturesque French village. A welcome retreat from the rigours of motorway driving. Friendly, helpful owners and private parking. Very reasonable price. Amazing breakfast. Highly recommend.
Review 7:The hotel was in an excellent position. The staff were helpful and polite. The breakfast was very good and I had a delightful room overlooking the courtyard. I really enjoyed my short stay and the hotels gentle charm
Review 8:Slightly 'frosty' reception when we arrived which did warm a little eventually (we only stayed 1 night). Mattress was uncomfortable but did not mention it as one night stay only. Bathroom very 'tired' with 70s tiles and had one of those showers attached to the bath taps with nowhere to hang it on the wall.
Review 9:Food was great. We ate in the pretty courtyard outside. Breakfast was basic but good.
Review 10:Disappointed that we couldn't eat in their restaurant as it was a Sunday. This was not mentioned on either their own website or on the website of Logis de France. Didn't like the black mould around the bath.
Review 11:Great building. Like stepping back in time.
Review 12:Our room needed updating and brightening up, as did the bathroom, there was a broken tile right near to toilet which was a danger to bare feet and unhygienic, the wall tiles too had black mould in the grouting. We would however stay here again. .
Review 13:Excellent location, right in centre of town lovely old hotel, with a inner courtyard and parking facilities. The person on reception was welcoming, Restaurant was closed night of our stay so can't comment and didn't stay for breakfast.
Review 14:We don't normally have breakfast at the hotel as it comes out of packets! With the market just outside the door on Saturday mornings you can have hot chicken, bacon, paella, croissants, virtually anything.
Review 15:Excellent location and secure parking. Comfy bed and free Wifi.
Review 16:For us, nothing but if you want a sterile modern squeaky clean hotel this isn't for you.
Review 17:The location half way from our house in the south west to the ferries, the charming proprietors, private parking, pet friendliness, location in centre of town, elegant restaurant and quality food. What more do you want?
Review 18:no lift, so you do need to be able to do stairs with luggage. We were refused a booking in the hotel restaurant for dinner that evening, although there were empty tables when we walked past at 8pm.
Review 19:A comfortable room, with a large bathroom, and a big tub.
Review 20:Room was spacious but getting a little faded, still had a lot of charm though. Had trouble climbing two flights of stairs, a lift would have been great, I'm sure had we requested it they would have made sure we were on the 1st floor, so not blaming them because they seemed most friendly and helpful.
Review 21:Liked the old fashioned atmosphere and faded elegance, helpful staff , it was useful to have booked a parking space! Dinner in the restaurant was superb, breakfast ok.
Review 22:A real ol fashioned welcome from the husband and wife owners. A hotel that is NOT of a standard modern international chain but of a french tradition that offers fantastic food and a unique atmosphere.
Review 23:My friend didn't like the steep staircase to the first floor and then another steep staircase within the room to get to the bedroom area. I loved it!
Review 24:Characterful rooms, very, very central
Review 25:As with so many hotels in France, breakfast was limited to bread, croissants, jams and yoghourt..... though served in a pretty dining-room. No in-room tea/coffee making facilities. Bolster/pillow was uncomfortable although I am sure ordinary pillows would have been supplied if we had bothered to ask.
Review 26:Helpful English speaking owner, central location very convenient for sights, bars and restaurants. large comfortable room and bathroom, though odd mixture of periods and styles.Pretty, enclosed courtyard with very good restaurant, and although room service not officially available owner brought tray of tea to our room. I think the hotel is being improved by its present owners, but as it stands we thought it was very good value for money and hope that its essential character does not change too much!
Review 27:The night we were there our room was noisy into the morning hours from revelers in the street.
Review 28:Our family of four (including two teenagers) stayed here for one night in early July 2014. The location of the hotel is excellent, right by a gate to the old town and close to a laundromat and boulangerie. The staff was friendly and welcoming and found us a dry, secure place to store our bicycles overnight. The room had two large beds for the four of us but ended up being somewhat cramped. The wifi was adequate. The breakfast was slightly below what we found at other hotels and B&Bs but was fine in general. We enjoyed our stay, would stay here again, and recommend it to others.
Review 29:Too many stairs, cold room.
Review 30:Beautiful old building, great location, good breakfast. Secure parking and for us, bike storage.

Review 51:Hotel very quiet, pleasant staff and room, perfect location.
Review 52:Secure car parking. Very helpful staff - carried our suitcases for us up the stairs and he gave us a lot of his time recommending a route to drive and places of interest. We enjoyed the old world ambience of the hotel.
Review 53:We were located in rooms in the courtyard right next to where the cleaners store their items. It was damp cold and smelt mouldy.. the wall paper was peeling off by the velum window, the bathroom had mould on the wall around the sealant, there was only a chair in the bedroom as furniture. We had to wait until 18:00 for the hotel to open even thought I had pre-booked it and all the literature said it opened at 14:00. when we complained about the room he offered an even worse one on the 3rd floor of the hotel itself ...! He did offer to ring another hotel but as it was 19:00 and we were cycle touring having done 100k that day we did not feel we could cycle another 10k...! Would not recommend it - very disappointed as we had stopped in a Hotel de France in Chartes sur Loire which was also of Logis and the same star rating but that was fantastic and well worth a visit.
Review 54:Nothing at all...
Review 55:the bathrooms are very tired, need updating. we have had n much better facilities e for the money elsewhere.
Review 56:the location to the ancient city. The secure parking is excellent, but limited. good breakfast, paid for as an extra.
Review 57:Front rooms on small street a little noisy in early morning. (Courtyard Rooms very quiet)

Review 59:It was tired with bathrooms and furnishings in need of refurbishment
Review 60:Traditional French Hotel in good location and fine old building and a comfortable bed
Review 61:Our room was small and had a loose-tiled stone floor. The bed was a little too soft for our liking.
Review 62:Logis Hôtel De France is an older style hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast good. The hotel offers a restaurant but we did not eat in. Centrally placed in Loches, the parking is a little tight but it all worked out well.
Review 63:Tired building in need of renovation
