Reviews for Posada Casona de la Ventilla
Review 1:Thought perhaps after 4 years the breakfast might be a bit more inventive. It really is lacking. Long life sliced bread, bland cheese slices, low quality ham, corn flakes, coco pops. Flavoured, not fruit, yoghurt. Fresh fruit is available it must be said. Whatever you fancy that isn't there bring in to liven it up. We got muesli from Aldi in town and I got some eggs which I scambled in the available microwave just for some variety. So breakfast the only real let down, but if like most you are only there for a night or two it possibly won't matter. We were there for two weeks.
Review 2:Second stay here and the friendly family run, very clean, comfortable place is just as pleasant as first time (2011). Lovely setting about 1.5 miles just up above town. Great rooms though sound-proofing not brilliant.
Review 3:Was very difficult to find according to directions on website, but if you use Tarrueza instead if the address or co-ordinates, you will get there quicker. I used sat nav and twice took me way out of area but on third attempt using location on imaps found it no problem.
Review 4:The town was just a short drive or couple of Kms if you are walking. Lots of little bars and cafés. Accommodation as expected after reviews on various sites.
Review 5:Needed a taxi to get in and out of town during the evening, but the hotel staff sourced an equally helpful and friendly taxi driver.
Review 6:Clean. Modern. Secure courtyard for bikes. Friendly helpful staff.
Review 7:The only negative is the lack of carpets and therefore the clatter of footsteps on stairs and hallways.
Review 8:In the middle of nowhere just off the motorway between Santander and Bilbao, the Casona de la Ventilla is a bit of a find, a modern B&B with stunning views of the surrounding hills, compact rooms with comfortable bed and duvet (a rarity in Spain), large welcoming lounge with couches, desk and TV, free WIFI, large pool and patio area.
Review 9:We would have liked to be able to have breakfast before 8am as we had an early start.
Review 10:All aspects of the stay were good. The hotel was clean, secure and pleasant, the staff helpful and efficient. The rooms were nicely decorated and comfortable.
Review 11:I was hopeing the parking was a little more secure as we had a lot of equipement in the car, the staff on duty said we could park inside the secure gates, but then had to go out to eat and found we could not regain access.
Review 12:The hotel is in a quiet location but not far from Laredo which has a variety of facilities, and only a few moments off the main A7 route. As we only stayed one night we didn't get to use the pool, which looked good. Very clean an comfortable room.
Review 13:Restaurant in hotel would be a bonus.
Review 14:Quiet location within easy reach of Laredo. Nice restaurant with good daily changing menu in nearby village of Llendo. Nice pool and good sized rooms.
Review 15:The grouting in the shower needed to be redone. The rooms were not sound proofed at all,
Review 16:The location and the size of the rooms the pool was very clean and the garden beautiful.

Review 31:After 20:30 in the evening no more service in the hotel. No food, no drinks available.
Review 32:Very modern, nice and clean hotel with a wonderful landscape around. Friendly owner and welcome. Good price and wonderful to relax. Nice pool outside.
Review 33:Our room was on the top floor with a Velux type window. The ceiling height was insufficient in parts of the room (& bathroom!). If you're more than 5'10", ask for another room. No bar service in the evening.
Review 34:The hotel is well designed with quality furnishings, the self-service breakfast is adequate. The surroundings are beautiful and it is easy to reach Laredo or Castro.
Review 35:Our edition of TomTom could not find the road and the Google maps entry is inaccurate by a couple of KM. Not the hotel's fault, but beware! Sound really travels in this hotel, so you'll find yourself tip-toeing a lot.
Review 36:Very convenient location, just off the main motorway. Very helpful staff when we got lost (see negatives). Very pleasant building, with comfortable communal spaces. We stayed in mid May so the pool was not open yet, but it looked very nice. Breakfast was excellent.
Review 37:No restauant service the night I arrived, but close to the town of Laredo.
Review 38:Quiet location and helpful staff, the staff spoke good English.
