Reviews for Pierre & Vacances Le Moulin des Cordeliers

Review 1:The room itself and everything in the room is rather tiny

Review 2:Location is in the centre of a beautiful town of Loches. We have visited some chateaus and Tours. We stayed there for 2 nights and it was comfortable. Swimming pool was also nice.

Review 3:The parking lot was a challenge for a longer car...but that seems to be typical for France. While we liked being in the town square, the location wasn't as central for visiting the other Chateaus in the Loire.

Review 4:It was nice to be in a hotel with a kitchen. We really enjoyed the deck and the view of the river, town square and tower. The kids liked the pool

Review 5:The micro wave/grill, I could not get it to work properly, this was most likley due to 'operator error', but I could not check this as the instructions were only in French!

Review 6:A great base to stay in Loches. The appartment in which my wife and I stayed in was both very clean and bright with the crowning jewel being the view from the excelent balcony. We are already planning our next visit which we know will be more that worth the 450 mile drive.

Review 7:The kitchen facilities in the apartment were great. Unfortunately, all the shop were closed so we weren't able to buy food to cook in the apartment. We ate out at a lovely establishment instead. Great bike storage and the apartment next to the bike area.

Review 8:2 items of caution that applyto our room in the Moulin block 1) kettle is adjacent to the sink with a plug that cannot be turned off (the kettle has a switch). So the cable is always live. (Health and Safety Legislation ??). So be careful filling the kettle and using it. 2) shower is in the bath which is slippery; no shower mat is provided, so suggest you bring one. Apart from these notes of caution, no real negatives.

Review 9:Good facilities for cooking Good location, right by the centre of Loches But: a) we were 2 in an apartment for four which was fine; but had there been 4 people it would have meant making up and unmaking up the two sofas each day! b) only sheets and smallish towels provided, so suggest bringing bigger towels c) you have to remember to bring all the condiments for cooking/food preparation, things, items for washing up, toilet paper - no problem as long as you prepare before arrival

Review 10:We had to make up our beds upon atrival, and we arrived at 2:00 am. It would be nice if the beds were already done.

Review 11:The apartment with garden. Nice to have breckfast in garden. Living room separated from sleeping room, so not both parents need to wake up early and children have a space to stay. Confortable to be able to make breackfast in the room. We arrived to hotel late in the evening (2:00) and staff let our keys safely in a way we could find them. Very easy. You have parking included. The swimming pool is fantastic! Water quite warm. Ideal for children.

Review 12:Bedroom was too cramped and bed was uncomfortable. No space to put suit cases. Charged €16 for key for the safe and lights went out, including on the stairs, at about 9.30pm, making it unsafe to move around without a torch. No lift. Very mean linen and towels.

Review 13:Lovely view of the Royal Apartments and nice pool. Good balcony and quiet location.

Review 14:Nothing

Review 15:The location was a nice change from the heavy tourist scene. Convenient to local shops with idyllic surroundings. Friendly and happy staff. A great place for families. Would definitely visit again.

Review 16:Clearer directions for late booking in

Review 17:Convienience to centre of town, nice view, easy access, good car parking

Review 18:Great location in the middle of Loches, secure and comfortable and good access to plenty of interesting places in the Loire Valley.

Review 19:Shortage of things to cook with. Getting into & out of bed difficult.

Review 20:Close to all places we wanted to visit.

Review 21:We loved everything great location

Review 22:Totally excellent facilities, location, staff, cleanliness, price etc.

Review 23:Some road noise and a little noisy if you have a room near the pool

Review 24:Great location and friendly staff

Review 25:everything. a perfect place.

Review 27:This was excellent value for money, we were very impressed with the facilities.

Review 28:Did not like having to make up the bed on arrival

Review 29:Access to a laundry.

Review 30:No lifts

Review 31:Comfortable, clean, great location, parking. Great stopover in an interesting historic town.

Review 32:Amazing view of the Loches - best location in town!

Review 34:Location, quiet, modern, spacious.

Review 35:pool

Review 36:We arrived after hours and had difficulty contacting anyone to let us in. I didn't like having to make the bed and arrange the linen on departure

Review 37:The appearance of the complex, the slab of rusty iron which served as a gate was very foreboding. The security was rather extreme, and it felt rather as if you were entering a prison. It was expensive and impersonal. Didn't appreciate having to make our own beds when it states they will be made up.

Review 38:Location, literally on top of the river. The apartment was spacious and well equipped. It was very quiet at night.

Review 39:Short bath, not easy to relax. Had to make our own beds which was a first but not a huge problem. Our appt was on the ground floor and directly opposite reception so we felt watched/ overlooked.

Review 40:Ease of check in and check out, friendly and helpful staff, cleanliness in general and everything worked.

Review 41:Charges for washing up liquid etc Take your own dishwash/cleaning kits. The pool, although heated, was quite small and the indoor part is tiny. The shared balconies, although seperated by wooden trellis' are not very private.

Review 42:Spacious apartment for four adults. Nice and clean, nice views over the courtyard and ancient architecture. The parking was free and enclosed for the residence. Glass enclosed balconies.

Review 43:Excellent location. Spacious accommodation with advantage of outside patio. Well organsed and secure, surrounded by flowers and the river. Ease of parking.

Review 44:The trade off for a good price is all the "extras" and theskimping on essentials - like towels, soap, and 3/4 of a roll ofvery flimsy toilet paper.

Review 45:Location and facilities

Review 46:Fantastic location, great views, usual PV formula. Loches is a charming town, great for a few days, nice pool, perfect place to stay with a family in Loches and chateaux region.

Review 47:Very hot weather and no air con (although staff did lend a fan) Noisy at night due to local cafe bar till 1pm fri night

Review 48:Apartment (fridge cooer etc provides freedom) Located right near town Pool is good asset Option to buy cheap breakfast Ping pong Launy facilities

Review 49:There is nothing about this residence we did not like but Booking.comwould help its users if it provided more and more accurate informationabout the various options regarding housekeeping, etc.

Review 50:Great location in a very charming small town. Nice facilities, comfortable.

Review 51:The shower in one of our two family rooms had very little water pressure.

Review 52:Beautiful views of the castle, very reasonable rooms to fit a family of five.

Review 53:We booked a two room apartment through booking.com and we got a one roomapartment with a sofa bed.

Review 54:The staff were friendly, helpful and spoke very good English.

Review 55:As it was very warm while we were there, it was a real shame that there was no air conditioning!

Review 56:Lovely location in centre of Loches, great views of the river and town square. The pool was lovely and there was a relaxed atmosphere around it. A great selection of cafes and restaurants in Loches within walking distance.

Review 57:We stayed for 2 nights to break our journey back to the UK from the Charente. Excellent location, good size, well equipped apartment for us and our 2 girls (7&5).

Review 58:Beds were extremely hard... maybe not unusual for France.

Review 59:Excellent central location, with free parking. Modern and clean.

Review 60:Some unclean cups and pillow covers

Review 61:A beautiful place with great view of the castle at Loches. A nice village. quite comfortable apartment

Review 62:It took several attempts to get answers from the reception prior toour arrival.Very hard beds. Excessive additional charges.

Review 63:Location.

Review 64:Bedroom was very small as were the beds. Storage was plentiful but awkward to access. Kitchen equipment was basic and a bit grubby

Review 65:Close to the town better value tan Hotel in Loches your one space

Review 66:Good location

Review 67:Room was starting to show signs of wear in particular the carpets

Review 68:ideal location for visiting the area.
