Reviews for Residence Residéal Antibes
Review 1:When I booked expected a bit more but it was disaster. Dirty, old and blocked sink that was what i got for my money, will not return ever to that property, it can not say 4 stars by French tourism bureau, its must by 1+ no more. Please mention that swimming pool is unheated it was +10... Who wants to swim???
Review 2:Staff was helpful
Review 3:Balcony separated only by a plastic wall from the neighbours, so it can be very noisy if your neighbour drinks and talks all night long. The fan in the room never stops, there is a little background noise all night long. Staff helpful, but with limited English knowledge. Internet sucks, only Facebook and email works, you can't open any webpage.
Review 4:Big, nice, bright studio with balcony. Nice bathroom with bathtub. Clean building. Nobody enters your room during your stay. Close to the train station, but far away from the noisy city centre. Comfortable beds. Fully equipped kitchen area.
Review 5:reason for visit to sort property following october storms and floods
Review 6:staff friendly and helpful, studio with a balcony and great view of the town, port sea and alps. bakery, small supermarket and bar a short walk across the road away from the town. old antibes in walking distance, have already recommended to family and friends.
Review 7:Rooms were disgustingly dirty, toilet smelt like urine, bathroom smelt of sulphur. Beds were a foam mattress, one being a roll out bed. Most things were available but everything was at an extra cost.. Parking, wifi even linen. When we voiced out concerns nothing was done, so we found a new hotel to stay at. No idea how the reviews and star rating are so high, certainly doesn't deserve it.
Review 8:The kitchenette was very basic and poorly equipped. None of the extractors (above the kitchen, in the toilet, and in the bathroom) worked. The toilet reeked of cigarette smoke that didn't dissipate at all whilst we were there. The view from the balcony was pretty dire. Not proper beds - rather a sofa bed that turned into two single beds. Ground-floor pool closed (October) and the roof pool very, very cold! The whole place was a bit tired and worn out.
Review 9:We had a (very small) self-catering apartment with a small balcony. It was very basic but it suited us well. The location was handy for the train station and had a mini-market and boulanger nearby
Review 10:Apartment living but nowhere convenient on site or within walking distance to purchase essential grocery items such as milk, tea, coffee etc. No meals available as restaurant was never opened.
Review 11:Good rooftop swimming pool
Review 12:On one warm night we had loud + heavy cigarette smoking neighbours on the balcony right next to our balcony. The hotel is situated below the landing route of airplanes to Nice airport. (we advise earplugs). The cooking gear is a bit old.
Review 13:We liked the beds (excellent mattresses) and the curtains for darkening the room. The bathroom is OK and the overall space is OK. Resideal is located close to the old town centre of Antibes + we had no problem to park our car nearby for free. The surroundings of the hotel are well kept. On the roof of the hotel there is a swimming pool with a magical panorama seaview from Antibes to Nice.
Review 14:Horrible single beds, bunk beds, super uncomfortable. No towels and sheet unless you pay an outrageous sum of 18 euros per set for some old, torn ones. Would never recommend to anyone. Parking secure but scary tight, meant for small car only.
Review 15:Location, view, staff
Review 16:The general value for a 4 star hotel. Paying for towels, WiFi, bedding etc. Should be included for a 4 star hotel. Otherwise, no further complaints.
Review 17:The pool on the roof was particularly nice. Great views, sunshine all day!
Review 18:pool on the roof for children over 14 only, small garage, everything has to be paid extra, bed for kids in the hall and small, self catering poor equipped, average location
Review 19:view from the roof top, clean pool, paid wifi worked well
Review 20:There was zero warmth and friendliness from the staff, made you feel truly unwelcome with one exception. The genersl areas were nice but the actual room by contrast was straight out of depressing formica seventies (down to the woodchip wallpaper). Also long walk back from town and far from nearest beach. No local shop so prepare to carry if you dont have a car.
Review 21:The view, the shower, proximity to train and bus station and the public swimming baths next door.
Review 22:Perfect location. Considering all the negative reviews we thought we would give it a try, Yes the rooms and the furniture in the rooms are old, but if that's what you're looking for then this isn't for you. If it's just a place to rest from days out ect this is the apartment. It's very good and great value for money! You are in Antibes!
Review 23:Just the kids in the rooftop pool.
Review 24:Roof top swimming pool but they need to enforce the no children policy as they have their own pool on the ground floor.
Review 25:Guests hogged the limited loungers using their towels before pool opening time. Too few loungers around both pools.
Review 26:Most amazing views from our apartment and from the roof pool. Fantastic location central to everywhere. Friendly multilingual staff. Well maintained pools and facilities. Well equipped air conditioned gym. Good laundry room.
Review 27:Very poor kitchen with almost no appliances, the flat needs much more equipments, the management charges you money for everything...it seems that soon they will charge customers for the oxygen they breath.
Review 28:Very good location, nice swimming pool with nice view of the marina and Mediterranean Sea. Clean.
Review 29:Room was quite dirty, staff was not so friendly. We didnt enjoy breafast, but we past it by, and I was really glad we didnt pay 10 euros / person for toast and marmelad.
Review 30:Pool for the kids was ok and it was open all day long until 21pm.
Review 31:The beds. A sofa bed that turns into two single beds. This leaves no comfortable alternative to sit on if someone wants to go to bed.
Review 32:Good location - within easy walking distance to the old town. Relaxed atmosphere. Two good pools.
Review 33:Two great pools, one with a fantastic view of the harbor! Really kind and helpful personal (and English speaking). Conveniently located close to the train station.
Review 34:Ridiculous having to pay for sheets and towels. Ive never seen that in any other place I've stayed nor had to clean my room to avoid 55e charge for maid to do it!! The staff were not overly friendly either at reception. No snack bar facilities available during the day only a dismal vending machine in reception with v little on offer and expensive!! While the pool was lovely and location good I felt this place were continually draining money from us at every turn.they need to provide more facilities (a bar that opens!) But I would stay here again..
Review 35:Convenient location.short walk into Antibes town and train/bus station also close by. Rooftop pool has amazing views.
Review 36:Some receptionists were rude or had an unwelcoming attitude. For example, free Wi-Fi did not work on 2 of my devices (Nokia N9, Jolla) and she was blaming it on my phones. She gave the tickets for paid connection, but after a bizarre discussion. The e-key to the room stopped working, so instead of giving the traditional key straightaway she sent us twice upstairs to check the e-key. The receptionists did not know much, and I assume did not care much about places in Antibes, for example that there are shops close to the residence and not 3 km away. Which is important if you stay for less than a week and do not have time to figure it on your own. Transport connection is terrible. If you do not have a car or a bike - forget it.
Review 37:Location was alright, swimming pools, the room was good for the price (compared to other options in Antibes)
Review 38:This studio was quite small for 4 persons and the planning was very bad e g you entered directly into the bunkbed. The double bed was a sofa and uncomfotable.
Review 39:The Residence was situated quite well in antibes. The pool on the ground was clean and warm,
Review 40:The apartment was ok, but it could need some new linen on its beds. It looked like it was something from the 60's. And the beach were far, far away! It's definitely not 800 meters on foot.
Review 41:The sea view from the balcony and the pools in the garden.
Review 42:location is on the wrong side of town for beaches and evening meals; local driving is appalling and intimidating to locals too, drivers going thru red lights and excessive speeding; cars driving thru old town and the "Remparts" spoils the atmosphere
Review 43:excellent hotel overall as ratings show; rooftop pool fab. note we did not use their breakfast
Review 44:The room for two people was very small. The bill was slightly confusing as we had to pay for different things at different times throughout the stay. £200 deposit on arrival, then paid for the room and then we had to pay for towels and bed linen.
Review 45:The location was great. It was a 5 minute walk to and from the station in Antibes which meant we could explore different areas along the Côte d'Azur really easily. Stunning views of the sea and the port from the rooftop pool.
Review 46:Beds are awful, more of a pull out couch. Roof top pool was a disgrace. Linen, towels and toiletries like soap should really be included in the cost of the room. Not an extra 20Eur.
Review 47:I would not recommend this accommodation for disabled guests due to very limited facilities. The address on your website neither exists on an Antibes street map nor on a GPS, so it should be amended to read Avenue Jules Grec.
Review 48:The rooftop swimming pool! With one exception, the friendliness of the staff. Great location
Review 49:The sea side of Antib is 30 min walk The room was not extey clean when we came in and the A/C was leaking If you don't have the car then all the shops are far.
Review 50:It is well located if you plan not only go for swimming but also travel from Anib to Nice or Cannes, since the Bus station and the railway station are only 5 minutes walk.
Review 51:No plug in the kitchen for the kettle! Shower head dodgy, bathtub plug not working, internet in the room is VERY SLOW.
Review 52:Wonderful location, friendly staff, nice A/C in the room kept it nice and cool during the heatwave! Screens on the terrace wondows would be good as lots of mosquitoes if window left open.
Review 53:Had to hire linen & towels, pull out beds, no soap, no hair dryer, no umbrellas in pool area, NO extras fullstop! Photos are very misleading on website. 20 minute walk to Old Town.
Review 54:Rooftop pool overlooking Antibes. Close to the bus and train station which worked out well with the taxi strike.
Review 55:Not enought kitchen equipment and not very nice apartment.
Review 56:I liked the balcony with the view over the harbour and I liked the top floor pool. The location to both Antibes and the train station was good.
Review 57:Didn't find out you had to pay for linen as an extra till after your booking.
Review 58:Location to Bus & train station, city and marina. Two swimming pools. One on roof top with 360 deg views
Review 59:All french hotels seem to charge extra for wifi in your room. I would like to welcome France to 2015. Charging extra for wifi these days is like charging extra for running water or electricity. It should be included in the room price.
Review 60:The rooms were very nice and functional, though of fairly simple standard. Nice new flat-TV, though - as usually in France - only with french speaking channels. Kitchen facilites were good. No microwave - but hot air oven. When we figured out how it works it proved a lot better than a microwave. The roof terrace (with pool) has a wonderful view of Port Vauban and Fort Carré. There is also a larger pool at ground level. Both pools were very clean and in top condition, though most other exteriors and interiors of the hotel show some wear and tear. If you have small children it is easiest to have your own car. There is a large free parking at the tennis courts down the road. There are also buses passing close nearby, which are easy and very low cost. If you don't have small children the old town and Port Vauban are just 2 kilometers away - an easy stroll. All in all - if you expect luxury this is not your choice. If you want a godd stay at a good location with good value for money - I strongly recommend it.
Review 61:Just a suggestion - if the instructions are in English why not ask a native speaker just to check the grammar? The language is delightfully amusing. It would be helpful to add a little more about cleaning and payment on the last day as there was a bit of confusion. Otherwise we're happy with our stay.
Review 62:We liked the light and brightness of our room. It's near both train station and buses, and not too far to walk into the old town.
Review 63:Resideal Antibes is close to the train station and central in terms of visiting other towns and attractions along the coast. It has a very nice swimming pool with a view.
Review 64:Guests cleaning their own rooms to avoid the charge means that your room isn't gaurenteed to be clean. Paid extra for wifi, towel, bed linen, city tax, laundry, parking.... Lots of 4 star hotels provide this for free or include it in the price so that you don't get hit with another bill at the end of your stay.
Review 65:Nice view, paid wifi is good, nice pool.
Review 66:The only supermarket close to the hotel is Casino which is very small and very expensive.
Review 67:the hotel is close to the railway station in Antibes. One can go to Nice, Cannes and Monaco by train. It is also close enough to the old city and not far from Marineland (the bus stop Stade Nautique is just in front of the hotel).
Review 68:The rooftop pool was lovely but unfortunately not open as I was too early in the season but I knew this So really no complaints at all!
Review 69:All you need clean great value beautiful views Walking distance to town Train and bus terminals 2 minute walk I've stayed here 4 times and love it here It's clean spacious and great value Staff are very friendly
Review 70:No wifi in room, also no microwave in kitchen, 1 roll of toilet paper for a flat for four people not enough, also small quantity of toiletries and washing up liquid, bin bag etc would be helpful for short stays eg 3 days or less
Review 71:Very helpful staff
Review 72:-The heater condition was not good, quiet cold especially during the midnights. -The blankets are too thin for winter use. -The Bunk bed is directly opposite to the toilet. -Wifi is too expensive.
Review 73:-The staff are very kind and helpful -The location is perfect, only 2 mins walks to the nearest bus station and about 5 mins to train station (there also have direct bus to the Nice airport)
Review 74:Bed not a proper double and singles only fair Needed an armchair WI FI in room too expensive but public area at 2 euros per day ok
Review 75:Location Price Informal
Review 76:Everything was perfect.
Review 77:This hotel had everything we really needed for our family.I do not understand why people are complaining about extra payments for sheets and final cleaning because you know that before you book the hotel. So bring your own or pay extra. Our room was in really good condition, clean and with big terrasse with sea view.We did not use the pool as it was November but it is on the roof and has probably best view you can have in Antibes.
Review 78:Whilst the hotel was impeccably clean and the staff were lovely, this hotel is definitely not a 4 star as advertised !! It is very basic, you literally only pay for your room when booking, everything else is separate once you get there, we had to pay for bed linen and towels !! A €200 deposit on arrival and providing the room was clean we could have it back !! We also had to ask for another toilet roll on which we were told we can have this one for free but would have to pay if we wanted anymore ! Not a 4 star very basic but very clean
Review 79:Excellent value 10 min walk from centre 2 min walk to bus and train services Clean friendly and spacious I am a regular and would recommend this accommodation
Review 80:Quality of some adjacent developments is poor, notably those between Resideal and views of the Fort. The apartment was mean in so far as brushes were provided but no cloths or cleaning stuffs - it felt as if the management was determined to exact its cleaning charge. One wc roll was the extent of the welcome, not even salt, pepper or any basic groceries - the least ever encountered in years of hiring such apartments
Review 81:Location was fine, the facilities were comfortable, clean and spacious. An excellent place to enjoy Antibes and to use as a base to explore the region
Review 82:We had requested in our booking a room with 2 individual beds & one overlooking the sea. This was never either accepted or refused. As a result we telephoned reception the day before arrival requesting confirmation & this was duly given. On arrival we were given the room we had requested & duly unpacked our cases at 3pm. Around 7pm we decided to eat in as we had travelled some miles & my wife started preparing supper. At 7.30pm reception telephoned to say they had mistakenly given us the wrong room & we would have to move. We declined given that supper was nearly ready. We were told we would have to move a room overlooking the car park with no sea view. After declining this the manager phoned to repeat what reception had already told us adding that if we did not move we might find that staff could be hammering on our door through the night to remind us we were in the wrong room. This did not happen even though we remained in our room for the next 3 nights but we constantly felt that the staff might move our clothing & belongings whilst we were out. Upon departure we met the manager for the first time & he could not have been more apologetic saying that the hotel had had a family in reception who had paid more than us for a room & who were staying for 2 weeks against our 3 nights. He had no other room to offer them for their requirements. We said that was not our fault given our checking of the room we wanted the day before arrival & the confirmation of the room when checking in. He accepted this with some grace & we eventually shook hands with him expressing the hope we would use his hotel at some future date. This explains the headline we have given this review but it was unsettling at the time.
Review 83:(1) Location (2) Facilities in room (3) Value for money (4) Swimming pools
Review 84:Room decor, lighting, having to clean room, toilet a bit smelly, no double bed. Having to pay for towels and linen.
Review 85:Location Pool Staff Price Quiet
Review 86:They wrote down all my credit card information down. Even the 3 digits behind the card (cvv2). I changed my card now. Don't let them do that. They get lot of money for towels and otherthings. There us not even a soap in bathroom.
Review 87:I only recommend ones in last floor with sea view. The other side is parking
Review 88:No free WiFi. Room's WiFi is very expensive. Main bed is a sofa bed. Bunk beds for kids. The need to rent or buy basic stuff like towels, linen, toilet paper, etc. does not seem right considering the cost.
Review 89:Two nice swimming pools. The roof swimming pool is simply excellent and not crowded. Walking distance to the town. The staff are kind.
Review 90:The absolute worst hotel in our history of hotel stays. I don't understand how this hotel has acquired its 4 stars. They have forgotten to mention that they have BED BUGS in all their rooms. It should be shut down by the board of health. When I showed them my little son who had huge bites all over his body, they were not amazed, the receptionist kindly wrote on a paper the name of a gel I should buy from the pharmacy to stop these bites from itching. It's normal for them. We have left 2 days earlier and it's more then a month they don't refund the money. Every time I call, the manager answers " madam I am busy" and drops the phone. It's a shame than in such a place like Antibes there exist such kind of "4star" hotel. For me it should have not a single star. It's a hotel that has spoiled all our vocation and even not a single word about compensation. If you love yourself end your children stay away from this disgusting hotel.
Review 91:-------------BED BUGS----------
Review 92:There is no free WiFi. Even though the room's WiFi is very expansive. Main bed is a sofa bed, it's not my expectation.
Review 93:The roof swimming pool is excellent, The staff are very kind.
Review 94:I wish we could check in before 5pm. I felt like we missed a day, as we had to check out by 10am
Review 95:Swimming pool was great for the boys. Not too crowded. Staff were always friendly, nothing was a problem for them. Even tho there were no problems.
Review 96:Everything cost extra, linen, towels soap etc.
Review 97:Great pool and nice with the balcony, great location - 10 min walk from old town, 20 min walk from juan les pins
Review 98:Noisy road forces to keep windows closed at night WiFi and safe in rooms expensive (but WiFi is affordable in lobby)
Review 99:Location in walking distance from town center Studios are well equipped with A/C, kitchenette incl. dishwasher Fitness has only few but good quality equipment Swimming pool on roof Olympic swimming pool next door Tennis courts next door Friendly personnel, clean and well kept property
Review 100:The entrance of parking was not wide enough to permit easy passage. So I did not use it. Lack of wifi in the chambers was an other problem. I could not find a plug to connect cafe machine, without changing its place.
Review 101:The location was perfect, close to the city center and there were a patisserie-sandwicherie, tabac-press and a little supermarket across the hotel. It was easy to find parking for my car around the hotel.
Review 102:Poor accommodation, bed was shocking. No available wifi, to charge 2 euros for a couple of minutes of use is not acceptable. View from room was very poor - swimming pool roof! No room starter pack for tea/coffee and cleaning. Cost of linen and towels was excessive. Electrical - kettle had to be plugged in sitting on the floor. The room was beneath the plant room water tank, early morning noise woke us up.
Review 103:The pool upstairs
Review 104:Within ten minutes walk of where it is all happening in Antibes. If you don't want to walk, several buses pass the front for one euro into town. Two excellent large swimming pools, one at ground level set in gardens and the other on the roof top with magnificent views of Antibes and very private for sunbathing. Apartments offer every convenience including patio table and chairs. Staff very friendly and helpful. I would definetly stay here again if going back to Antibes.
Review 105:I had a nice balcony which was pleasant to sit out on
Review 106:Great value for money. Plenty of free parking nearby.
Review 107:prefer double bed to twins put together. no English channels tv
Review 108:great view on roof pool ,wifi.
