Reviews for Hôtel Celtique et Spa

Review 1:The hotel was warm and comfortable,my husband got ill and we had to extend our stay. The staff were just wonderful and nothing was a problem. They even cooked us a light meal when we got back from the hospital at 12.30am.

Review 2:Although a lift in hotel the bed in 304 was upstairs from rest of room! Had to change as can't do stairs. 117 was very, very small and bathroom unacceptably small. Breakfast items were not replenished quickly and we had to keep asking for juice, coffee, eggs and bacon to be brought from kitchen and that was not quick! And not just us were unhappy!

Review 3:Staff very pleasant and a very comfortable bed with good linens. Good big balcony but very exposed.

Review 4:No air con or fan in room so had to sleep with windows open which proved very noisy due to the central location

Review 5:Great location for ease of access to the beach and shops and restaurants. Great pool

Review 6:The toilet is so small , it's just enough for your small butt to come in. If it's bigger, no change, you have to find somewhere. The weather are not playing with. A wide beaches with a very cold weather, it's useless for me. The heated swimming pool is not really inviting, too small for the whole population of that hotel. The billard table is a cheaper version.

Review 7:The location is top. The beach is at the back of the hotel. On the other side is the main road. Near to all shops and restaurant.

Review 8:No air conditioning in our "junior" suite. We were provided with a fan on request so the management is obviously aware of the issue. However, it could have been uncomfortable in very hot weather. We were disappointed at the high level of noise transmitted downwards from the rooms above ours. Footsteps, chairs scraping across uncarpeted floors, doors slamming. Pot luck really, but not totally satisfactory for a Best Western.

Review 9:The food was first-class, as were the staff. Great position also, close to the centre of Carnac Plage.

Review 10:No english channels on the television

Review 11:Very central location with a short walk to the beach, parking was good (free in the street behind the hotel), very friendly staff, good bathroom facilities and most of all, a fantastic swimming pool! Unfortunately I didn't get to use the gym.

Review 12:Nothing

Review 13:Our suite was brilliant . Perfect for me and my son as we could have our own space without the expense of 2 rooms. Facilities in room and hotel were really good although it would have been nice to be able to access satellite TV .

Review 14:No frig'. Not good in a heatwave. No way of getting a cold drink, not even your own bottle of water. No soap, only those squeezee dispensers, delivery one tiny drop of Gel after a lot of effort. A settee , probably convertible bed settee, covered pvc which washstand sticky if you tried to sit too long.

Review 15:Nothing stands out. If I stay in a 4 star hotel and pay 4 star prices, don't expect me to enthuse just because the towels wer changed ... etc...

Review 16:We loved our room and really appreciated being unexpectedly upgraded to a suite with 2 Bathrooms, Sitting Room and a Balcony. Very nice quality decor and furnishings - everything we needed was there. Also excellent Dinner and Breakfasts and friendly helpful staff. We will definitely return

Review 17:Room was spotless, airy, great beds, nice balcony, breakfast buffet & off street parking! Location near beach, fab shops, tourist information, cafes, pedestrian areas, pastisseries & glace shops. Loved it & pool!

Review 18:We were very kindly upgraded to a superb room with a beautiful sea view, staff were friendly and very helpful, we liked everything about it except the fact that wifi was unobtainable most of the time.

Review 19:The pool closed at 8pm and was not opened early.... Too bad I had chosen this hotel to enjoy an early dip... Did not happen!

Review 20:Loved not to have to park on the street and being walking distance from the beach and lovely shops and restaurants and only a few km from the alignments.

Review 21:Small car park, but lots more parking in vicinity.

Review 22:Friendly staff, room compact, and great seating area and access to outside, indoor swimming pool, what a plus in early April. Great location, access to all amenities within walking distance. Restaurant staff accommodating and good seafood.

Review 23:Outside/entrance to the bedroom was on an open balcony. Very cold whilst walking about in our Spa dressing gowns. Bar expensive.

Review 24:The Spa The Swimming Pool Friendly Staff Lovely Breakfast/big choice Location Access to Spa/parking etc

Review 25:restaurant closed to residents - presumably because of a function. Local restaurants very average.

Review 26:hotel location good bar service on the terrace v. good.

Review 27:We had half board, and although the breakfasts were superb , the main courses at the evening meals were completely unpalatable, and we could barely eat any of it. Lamb, duck, salmon etc served practically raw!( and I mean raw!)We barely saw any vegetables, i.e no peas, no green beans, no potatoes .no salad. The accompaniments were either cous cous(Greek), risotto,(Italian)(nothing else just that) and one night i had slices of raw lamb served with a small dish of hard tasteless butter beans(just butter beans!) it was disgusting. My husband had dry tuna with mashed aubergines and again! cous cous!.We asked if we could have some potatoes, and all they could offer was chips! We were looking forward to enjoying good French food, but this food was anything but, and spoilt our holiday!.The best meal we had all week was on Brittany Ferries on the way home. Cassoulet of lamb,(French dish!)beautifully cooked, with dauphinoise potatoes, or mash, with peas and carrots. We thought we'd died and gone to heaven.

Review 28:Acommodation was excellent, as we asked for a double room with single beds, and were given adjoining rooms, with a double bed in each. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. However the hanging space in the wardrobes was far from adequate, as half the space was taken up by a row of shelves, which weren't needed as there was a large chest of drawers in the room.If we hadn't had 2 rooms we wouldn't have been able to hang all our clothes up in one wardrobe, and we didn't have that many , as we were only staying for1 week. Motels tend to have very little hanging space, but you would not expect this in a 4 star hotel!

Review 29:nothing

Review 30:I would recommend this hotel to anyone, the pool was excellent the staff were excellent and the quality of relaxation was second to none, ie bed was very comfortable, great nights sleep. all in all a very nice two days would definatley stay here again. brilliant hotel.

Review 31:All staff were extremely helpful and the hotel was perfect for a short stay, small but very clean rooms, neutral decor and excellent facilities like a small heated pool

Review 32:Major issue was the wi if was extremely hit & miss....that's it really!

Review 33:Had a lovely split level room-ended up staying an extra night which was no problem.very close to the beach & restaurants.secure parking.didnt eat there at all so can't comment.really enjoyed our stay, lovely to use the pool in the evenings too

Review 34:Breakfast was good catered, but a little more prepackaging can be done. This more hygiene instead of guests and children using bare hands to cut bread, using hands to cut cheese ercetera would be an absolute imptovement.

Review 35:Good, clean and very friendly hotel. Fantastic location at two minutes walk to the beautiful beach of carnac- plage and two minutes to the shops and restaurants. With two teenagers the suite with two connected rooms with their own bathrooms is very good.

Review 36:No Air Conditioning Sofa Bed for two Breakfast not included in room rate Room small for family of four Expensive for 3 star hotel

Review 37:Location Pleasant staff Parking

Review 38:Parking was tight, and street noise an occasional inconvenience

Review 39:Location, convenience in relation to shops, restaurants etc. Swimming pool was great, and the set-out of our rooms (one double bed, one folding double sofa bed) was excellent.

Review 40:Having our room cleaned at 4.45pm after being out all day one would have expected them done by 3. Staff offering a little more assistance in the breakfast room.

Review 41:I enjoyed the room that the junior suite offered. A super swimming pool.

Review 42:Good restaurants within a short walk

Review 43:Great food, excellent location, quiet town, comfortable room.

Review 44:WiFi doesn't work in the room. Entrance card for room had to be actived 6 times during the week!

Review 45:Nice hotel good breakfast

Review 46:Room very clean staff very pleasant

Review 47:The dinner was a bit ordinary.

Review 48:We had a great stay - a really comfortable hotel in a great location.

Review 49:Location and pool.

Review 50:Evening meal was good food but service was slow

Review 51:Friendly staff, comfortable bedroom. Breakfast.

Review 52:Room was a bit compact and quite hot. Why do all hotels have such heavy weight duvets?

Review 53:Location is really good. Friendly helpful staff.

Review 54:Location friendly staff.

Review 55:Bar prices high-not really a welcoming place-but plenty of adjacent watering holes.

Review 56:Excellent swimming pool

Review 57:breakfast items not replenished very quickly

Review 58:Friendly staff, nice swimming pool, good location

Review 59:Great room with a view of the sea. Good quality breakfast. Spa used as weather was not so food.

Review 60:relaxed atmosphere out of big city

Review 61:Shame breakfast wasn't included in price.

Review 62:Swimming pool was a god send with young kids.

Review 63:The view from the room not so special.

Review 64:The location, facilities and service are really good. I recommande this hotel.

Review 65:Pool was too cold

Review 66:There was nothing to dislike it was a superb 4 day stay. Thank you all.

Review 67:The excellent cuisine especially the chef's suggested special menu, which was changed each night and the fact we could have breakfast in our room. The Spa facilities - luxury. Reception, restaurant and cleaning staff all went out of their way to make you feel welcome. My husband is disabled and we appreciated the service we received. The lock up garage option was excellent for us - able to charge mobility scooter each night. If you are visiting Carnac this is the hotel for you.

Review 68:Prices in the Bar and restaurant were very high.

Review 69:Personel was very friendly and helpful. Room was excellent with enough room. All the facilities were very good

Review 70:We decided that €15 was too expensive for breakfast, especially as we are vegetarians. We had plates with us so did fine with stuff from the supermarket down the road. Often had to remind staff to take the cover off the pool but that's a minor niggle.

Review 71:We were given a kind of family room, it was too room with a connecting sliding door, meaning we had a lounge area. This was useful as we were staying 4 nights and had lots of guidebooks as we were there to see the megalithic sights. Very nice stay. Nice to have a morning swim, usually had pool to myself :-) they also provided a kettle which we haven't had in other continental hotels.

Review 72:there is no refrigerator at the room. For diabetic patients is that a problem.you have to take your own.all other hotels have that standard.

Review 73:location. swimming pole, nice familyroom, staff

Review 74:The breakfast is a bit too expensive and no discount for children. Bar and restaurant also a bit pricey.

Review 75:The locations is great; very close to the beach and restaurants. The rooms are nice. Good A/C and comfortable beds. Great pool and a nice little gym. Close to free parking. Staff was very nice. Internet connection was very stable.

Review 76:The room was rather crammed - big furniture in small space. You could barely turn around in the bathroom. Would have been good to be provided with slippers for the pool (which were required to be allowed in).

Review 77:Our reservation got lost so we got a flat with a terrace instead, and that was worth it. The spa center is good, nice pool.

Review 78:- None

Review 79:- Family room is excellent with 2 bath rooms

Review 80:nothing everything was good
