Reviews for Hotel Le Churchill
Review 1:Staff: so friendly. Room: so wonderful. Location: so perfect. You can hire a bike and ride to town, along the promenade, around the streets. The shower is just wonderful.
Review 2:Expensive breakfast And no restaurant ore nice lounge where you can have a drink or snack Early closiure of the main door in the evening (nine o clock)
Review 3:The place, balcon with beuatiful view and general armosphere Good functional nice bathroom Good beds and large and comfortabel room.
Review 4:Shower panel leaked onto bathroom floor. Shame the swimming pool was closed the day before our stay as the weather was so good it would have been lovely to swim
Review 5:Staff really friendly and helpful. Breakfast really good selections
Review 6:Lack of sound proofing between the rooms. Breakfast overpriced. No shower cap although a manicure set! Room layout wasted space ~ kettle in closet.
Review 7:Pleasant staff. Reasonable walk to restaurants.
Review 8:Dogs in the restaurant. One couple always brought their doc into breakfast and othe people did not want to sit near them. Unhygienic
Review 9:Clean friendly good pool
Review 10:No coat hooks in the rooms; cupboard space limited due to refrigerator and water heater(!) being also in the cupboard... didn't use either of them.
Review 11:Quiet hotel nicely positioned beside a boules play area on the southern tip of Carnac beach. Helpful pleasant staff.
Review 12:Not enough storage in the room when staying for a week and a range of clothing was needed for variable weather. The silly design of the washbasin where there was no way of running a bowl of water.
Review 13:The fact that each room faced the sea and had a balcony with table and chairs; the sheltered heated pool; the quiet location. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Ann on reception.
Review 14:Design & Quality of Hotel, particularly Rooms Excellent Breakfast Friendly staff Ease of Parking Good choice of restaurants only a short walk away
Review 15:Initially, we were given two rooms on 4th floor (traveled with friends) and the second room was unsuitable because bed was up in the eaves (very hot) and bathroom was down a tricky flight of stairs. This room changed to a pool-side room, but still charged for a superior room. Otherwise all very good.
Review 16:Very clean, very quiet, and easy parking though not private. Pool excellent and south facing. 4th floor room had excellent view.
Review 17:No plug in basin, shower leaked onto floor, not a good shower, chairs were far too small and uncomfortable in the room and to make tea in the wardrobe was very difficult with no light in there.
Review 18:Size of bed. Super lights for reading in bed.
Review 19:No restaurant and the nearest one and bar was over a kilometre away.
Review 20:Easy to find, quick, efficient reception for checking in and out and great facilities. Overlooking the beach.
Review 21:30+ French TV channels but only 1 in English! The web site says 'flat screen TV with satellite channels' It would be better if they stated that BBC World News was the only UK channel. In the Autumn an hour or so of UK TV in the evening would be nice. Breakfast rather expensive
Review 22:The staff...they were all fantastic.
Review 23:Secure parking is upon availability only. If you tick the 'parking box' ion the booking.com site, you won't be sure of a secure parking space. Should be requested separately.
Review 24:Hospitality; friendliness: comfort.
Review 25:Some young people played very loud music up to 5 in the morning one night from car stereos on the nearby beach. Pity they were not stopped.
Review 26:Very quiet location and a nice walk to restaurants. The staff were welcoming and pleasant. The balcony was excellent with a great view.
Review 27:We booked a family room which was described as being suitable for 4 adults. it was but only if you used a sofa bed which would have blocked access to the balcony. The room was really small and was really only set up for 2 people (2 glasses, 2 dressing gowns etc) - the room was tight for us with 2 small children so for adults it would be ridiculous. Maybe this is standard for Carnac at this time of year but it was the most expensive hotel we stayed at in France and it certainly wasn't the best by a long way. I brought these issues up to reception who sorted out the glasses etc but didn't seem to accept that it wasn't a good set up and were frankly disinterested. I must say this was only one member of staff, the breakfast staff and our check out receptionist were excellent. It may have been an anomaly as this hotel gets rave reviews on Booking but I would spend my money elsewhere.
Review 28:Good location, breakfast staff very friendly
Review 29:Not bad, but the hotel only does breakfast and restaurants are quite a long way away.
Review 30:Very helpful staff with good English. Just across the road from the fabulous beach.
Review 31:Pity there is no longer a bar for guests.
Review 32:Some of the friendliest hotel staff we've ever encountered; we even got an impromptu French lesson. Great Location on the beach and super facilities for a relatively inexpensive hotel. Utterly brilliant!
Review 33:During our stay (2 nights) we never succeeded to get an internet connection more than 2 minutes long. There were amenities in the bathroom the first day. The second day none were added as well as toilet paper.
Review 34:The location is excellent. The staff is very helpful. The room is clean and comfortable. The breakfast is excellent. All rooms have view on the sea (covered by trees :) )
Review 35:on the edge of where its happening but the hotel is good if your happy to drive or long walk to the restaurants.
Review 36:the room , bed excellent, wifi , tv good staff.
Review 37:Wi Fi very poor to non existent in our room. Breakfast somewhat overpriced.
Review 38:A good location for days out to see the best of coastal Morbihan. Friendly and helpful staff. Good outdoor heated pool.
Review 39:Wifi didn't work, and I was told that there is some issue, but it's working. The staff left it at that even though wifi really didn't work for me, and no help was provided.
Review 40:Location
Review 41:A previous reviewer from last November found the staff non-cooperative. Our experience was diametrically the opposite -- they went above and beyond to be helpful.
Review 42:I really can't find, maybe far away from downtown, but in good weather that is an advantage :)
Review 43:Close to beach, helpful staff, a heated pool and saunas. Free parking. Quiet surroundings, beautiful views of the sea.
Review 44:Parking was extremely poor, all along the area, and especially hard to get in the Village if you wanted to eat. it was 3 K each direction to a coffee shop or restaurant. I obviously just saw the dining room photos on the Web, and wrongly assumed this Hotel had a restaurant.
Review 45:20 - minute walk to restaurants. Reception closed at 9pm. Thereafter entry to hotel and rooms by electronic card. I am nervous of electronic entry, having been denied access on many a previous occasion.
Review 46:Very friendly staff. Very helpful. Easy parking.
Review 47:Great Welcome with very friendly staff throughout Lovely spacious prestige room Lovely location spotlessly Clean Exceptionally quick free wifi Great value full buffet breakfast with excellent omelettes freshly prepared for us We will return Had we not already reserved our remaining 5 nights, we would have stayed.
Review 48:Not much storage space in room but fine if just for day or two.
Review 49:Very clean compact room with everything you would need and decent view. Pool and spa area fully working even in October. Very nice breakfast.
Review 50:There is no restaurant at the hotel, nor within a kilometre. Unless you are able to walk this distance comfortably you have to use a car.
Review 51:The hotel is very clean and all the facilities worked well. The staff are very accommodating and polite. Our room, a Privilege, was very well appointed and comfortable.
Review 52:Well equipped, modern, comfortable rooms with own outdoor sitting area. Swimming pool, sauna and steam room available if needed. Very friendly and obliging staff. The hotel is located across the road from the beach at the end of the bay. The 10-15 minute walk along the seafront to the restaurants is flat and interesting and means the hotel is peaceful at night.
Review 53:Nothing
Review 54:The very helpful and friendly staff. A very good room with a high quality finish. An excellent breakfast with, in addition to the more usual offerings in a French hotel, excellent, light scrambled egg and bacon. served and prepared by a delightful lady and on her days off by an equally pleasant and capable young man who may have been the Assistant Manager at the Hotel. The lady on reception for much of our stay was also extremely helpful and very welcoming. The cleanliness of the hotel and the pool was of a very high standard.
Review 55:Excellent hotel, practically a five star, renovated 4 years ago, still looking completely new, great rooms, nice view, nice outside pool, very friendly staff.
Review 56:Strange glass walled bathroom arrangement. Plumbing in shower needed some attention. Tiles/grout in shower needed a bit of anti-mould treatment. Breakfast at 16 euros was more expensive than a good lunch locally. Surely it makes better business sense to charge less than 10 and fill the breakfast room each morning?
Review 57:Good location - away from riff-raff of Carnac. Easy parking. Direct access to shoreline. Air conditioned room.
Review 58:Poor tv channel choice and no pay to view film service. Poor bath toiletries replenishment. Lack of storage space in room. Small rooms. No normal covered bike storage, although management allowed my expensive bike to be kept in locked garage. No night porter.
Review 59:Great beachfront location. Good breakfast. Fast wifi. Free parking. Very helpful staff.
Review 60:None
Review 61:Last minute 1 night stay at the hotel. Excellent from start to finish, friendly and helpful staff. good facilities, our 2 young boys loved the outdoor pool. Beautiful accommodation, making our brief stay in the resort an enjoyable one.
Review 62:The bathroom including toilet has this weird glass wall. There's a curtain but in the end not enough privacy. I might be old fashioned but I totally miss the charms of it....
Review 63:Very good location in Carnac, in walking distance but not too close to the very crowded city centre. Convenient to reach Trinité sur Mer
Review 64:Too expensive for what they offered!.. For istance reception closes at 900pm, no bar ,swiming pool under the street level..surroundet by a high wall, breakfast very expensive ,not included!! Etc,etc
Review 65:Position and cleanliness where very good
Review 66:please, we are traveling around the world and this is the first and only please where stuff is not treating guests as guests. we have booked privilige room and we get a smaller standard room. it was much more smaller then is written on booking.com and the pictures were also different that on hotel web site. we have double checked it in many places, but when it was the last room in hotel they were just telling us that we have a better room then others. regular LIE. smal, stinky, without any fac. bad. with the same price we had in Saint-Malo great superb hotel named LE NOUVEAU MONDE. but le churchill...naah! no comments!
Review 67:Everything! But in our case we must mention reception - we forgotsomething in the hotel safe. Reception contacted us right away and sentit to our next hotel by dhl immediately. Our holiday could have beenruined but they saved the day. That is what a really good hotel is allabout - service!!! . The hotel itself was perfect. Parking was easy -they have a small underground car park but we parked on the very quietstreet directly outside the hotel.
Review 68:Really lovely, friendly Hotel in a super setting down the quieter end of Carnac Plage. Very well equipped, comfortable room. Close to beaches and within walking distance of the busy little town and a variety of restaurants. We really enjoyed several of the coastal walks in the area which enabled us to discover the amazing number of beautiful bays in the area. Auray - especially the old port area - is a 'must' visit. We would also recommend a trip to Vannes.
Review 69:breakfast was until 11 am, but on arrival at 10 am they were almost out of all important breakfast items-no refill and charged for breakfast anyways Wifi was not working at all in room 21, only access in Lobby
Review 70:wonderful location, great view and helpful staff
Review 71:We were impressed by the warm friendly atmosphere created by the very helpful staff. Great breakfast, good facilities. All in all a first class hotel.
Review 72:I was extremely disappointed that neither myself or my partner were able to connect to the wifi. Between us we had 4 devices, and not one would connect. When my partner asked at the reception about the wifi connection, the receptionist said that it was to do with the devices we were using and that there was nothing wrong with their wifi. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. I was very disappointed and wont be recommending this hotel or be staying here again.
Review 73:I paid a lot of money for a relaxing evening in what I was expecting to be a very comfortable hotel. I found the bathroom very nice, although the plug on the bath did not work therefore we had to leave dirty bath water in it all night. The balcony was enjoyable apart from the fact the door didn't lock.
Review 74:Can't think of one thing not to like.
Review 75:Clean, pleasant, lovely decor, good location (short walk to main restaurants), very accommodating staff, good breakfast, nice clean pool, totally pleasant stay.
Review 76:Stayed in a privilege room which was not the basic double. To be honest I would not like to be in a smaller room as I felt it was already compact enough. Couldn't really see how it could be made any smaller unless we weren't in the right room.
Review 77:Location might not suit everyone but personally I prefer to have a walk before and after my evening meal and 15 mins wasn't an ordeal. There were no issues with street noise because of the quieter area the hotel was situated in. The proximity of the hotel to the beaches is excellent especially when you go towards the Men-du beach. The rooms were spotlessly clean and could not be faulted. The amount of storage space in what appears to be a compact room is ingenious and a credit to it's designer. Pool area again was spotlessly clean and the jacuzzi in the pool was v.nice. Sauna and steam room were also a bonus and we wished we were staying longer to avail of them. Didn't have breakfast in the hotel so can't comment on that. Just felt that €16 per person was a little steep. Walked to a salon du thè for a delicious breakfast at €6.95 each.
Review 78:Lack of evening meal facility - there would be an opening for this I would have thought.
Review 79:Excellent location, staff and overall standards. Our second stay and will return.
Review 80:Location. No restaurant. No Bar. Twenty minute walk to any cafe or restaurant. No being allowed to change booking. Place closes at 9 pm. Glass panel any no bathroom privacy. Breakfast price.

Review 82:La situation, la gentillesse de Samuel.
Review 83:NO COMPLAINTS

Review 85:Breakfast expensive compared to other places we stayed so we didn't eat here.
Review 86:Nice room and bathroom. Nice view. Would stay here again.
