Reviews for Be Cottage Hotel
Review 1:The shower cubicle in room 18 desperately needs regrouting.
Review 2:Location was great, bars and shops just round the corner. Although the Room was compact, it was stylish and great for one night.
Review 3:Booked 2 double rooms ,both were on the ground floor one with windows and door into reception the other with windows and doors onto the street so shutters had to be closed at all times as you were on public view. You could not open windows had no daylight and no view of any kind of the outside world.
Review 4:Easy access to the town and sea front
Review 5:There was nothing we as a group did not like.
Review 6:It's near all the shops bars and restaurants the beach is only 15 mins walk. there is enough car parking out side the hotel 10 euros for 12 hours on a weekend which we felt is a good price. The Hotel is Great value for money the rooms are small but had everything you need including a mini bar, the staff are lovely and there's a small bar in the lounge downstairs which was nice.
Review 7:Perfect location in the centre but very noisy early morning with market traders setting up their stalls. Comfy bed. Good breakfast in a very nice dining area.
Review 8:Very noisy at night. Police removing cars and market stall holders setting up meant we could not sleep.
Review 9:Good location and could walk to and from the hotel easily. Friendly and efficient staff. Good value.
Review 10:Both rooms were cramped and very hot. One room had no natural light except door Nowhere to really put the luggage of hang clothes for multiple people
Review 11:Good location, staff friendly and helpful
Review 12:Lack of sound proofing ..... Could hear every flush from a room above!! Pub closed very early Strong smell of cigarette smoke when we entered the room
Review 13:Good location close to beach, bars and shops. Lovely big comfortable bed
Review 14:Loved how comfortable the beds were, the room was beautifully decorated, size perfect for the extra bed we needed for our little boy and the location was great!
Review 15:Not impressed with initial room allocation. Has opted for a premier room and was given a room outside the main building at street level. Staff were very helpful though and, thanks to a cancellation, we were moved
Review 16:Great location. Clean room. Comfy bed. Good continental breakfast.
Review 17:Excellent location next to Covered Market. Staff very friendly. Room clean and comfortable. Car park conveniently located at the side of hotel (10 euros from 14h30 until 14h30 the next day).
Review 18:No tea or coffee in room, breakfast was shocking for 12 euros, probably worst continental breakfast I have had.
Review 19:Good location,clean room and bathroom,friendly staff
Review 20:I thought the hotel was a little over priced and on top we had to pay an extra €20 for a cot in the room which we were unaware of and also €10 to park our car.
Review 21:The hotel is located in an ideal situation for both the beach and the main shopping street for both shops and restaurants.
Review 22:The town itself seems quite small, so everything felt in walking distance, but this hotel was right next to the street market that appears 3 times a week and is very close to Rue de Metz, where we found plenty of bakeries and rotisseries.
Review 23:Couple in the next room came in at 3am banging doors and rowing loudly. Not the fault of the hotel however.
Review 24:Our second stay. Location Staff very friendly and helpful Stylish rooms Near beach, shops, marvellous market and restaurants.
Review 25:Room was small as was en suite was ok for a rew nights but wouldnt like to have been for a week.
Review 26:Location was great right in the heart of town within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, breakfast was lovely the hotel was very clean
Review 27:Second bed very small. Shower not properly stuck to wall and had to run it for over five minutes just to get to lukewarm. Went in the lift once and wouldn't risk a second as very slow and jolty
Review 28:Great hotel in excellent location with a great breakfast, near the market but heard nothing in the room I had great atmosphere and a real French feel. Hotel parking was free after 18:00 till 09:00.
Review 29:Parking is in a public car park at the side which was partly flooded due to heavy rain. Our accommodation was in a separate chalet, which was pleasant but showing signs of wear and tear.
Review 30:A convenient location for the town.
Review 31:We stayed on Friday night and Saturday morning is market day so from 6.30 am we were woken up with all the preparation by market stall holders, it was a shame as it disrupted our sleep.
Review 32:lovely boutique hotel the room we had was great. location was fantastic with the beach a step away and restaurants around the corner.
Review 33:Being on the top floor meant the water pressure was a bit low and we had to wait many minutes to get any hot water through. It wasn't really a proper shower either. So if I had any complaint at all it would be that.
Review 34:Nice little hotel. Comfy bed and good value at around £85 for a triple room for the night. There's a lift installed which might be good for some people. Very close to the main town centre which was ideal.
Review 35:Not great value for money, overpriced in my opinion, especially as last minute bargains were still being advertised for the same hotel upto one day before travelling.
Review 36:Location, cleanliness, comfort.
Review 37:Lovely clean hotel with very friendly staff. Great welcome. A bit pricey but worth it. the continental breakfast was fantastic especially the cheese board.
Review 38:When we arrived we were shown to a separate room, not part of the hotel, which had a door that opened straight onto the street outside. It had a shutter so we weren't particularly worried about security but it was more like an apartment than being in a hotel. We had to walk outside (in the rain!) to get to reception (no phone in the room) and to breakfast.
Review 39:Closed bar.
Review 40:I have never slept in such a comfortable bed and I'm an insomniac! The location was perfect, the deco modern, light and tasteful. My only grumble was when we returned for an evening drink, it was closed!!
Review 41:Expensive hotel as a family of 5 we needed 2 rooms for a 1 night stopover on the way to Calais. The comfort room is absolutely tiny although the triple room was much better. However it was noisy as there is a restaurant nearby with guests talking/laughing outside until late and there is a market 3 days a week directly outside the hotel so we were woken at 7am by the stall holders setting up their stalls. I had asked for quiet rooms but without success. At checkout the receptionist did not even ask how our stay had been - I guess she may have known the answer without asking.
Review 42:Touquet is a lovely town.
Review 43:If we had a gripe and it is just a little one, then the noise from the upstairs apartment was quite apparent but only for a short time when guests were arriving/departing. We stayed in an annexe to the hotel where the roof space had been converted to another room but this really didn't spoil our whole experience.
Review 44:The location was great with just a short stroll to the main restaurants and shops. The room was spacious, clean and ooh the bed ever so comfy. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Review 45:Old saggy uncomfortable bed Paper thin walls Racket from people walking above Not at all relaxing Parking is only free over night but costs 10 Euros a day Wanted to cancel the booking after 1st night but no refund available
Review 46:Location was the only positive
Review 47:Room for 3 however third bed was not comfortable. Upstairs room must have had a wooden floor as there was a lot of noise
Review 48:Room for 3 however third bed was not comfortable. Upstairs room must have had a wooden floor as there was a lot of noise.Great location and large well appointed , nicely decorated room. Great parking.
Review 49:The disadvantage of the central location is the noise when market sets up in the morning (we had a front room overlooking the market), however it was ok if the window was kept closed
Review 50:Central location Value for money Friendly
Review 51:Bed had sagged substantially in the middle. Needed to put cushions and pillows down centre to stop rolling into each other. Had 'cosy' rooms as that was all available. Ok but at top of building so not great for a very warm weekend. Hot air rises and all that!
Review 52:Good location, near Saturday market. Friendly staff. Breakfast reasonable and breakfast room pleasant .
Review 53:Room 40 needs refurbish and a fan or air conditioning
Review 54:Located next to market, just at the edge of all the bars and restaurants, but you can't hear them under 5 minutes walk to the beach, hard to find any other accommodation located in the town is good value as this and yes I will stay again
Review 55:Small room ( room 4) with inadequate storage ( no draw space ). Shower inadequate.
Review 56:Nice staff, good breakfast, good location for the town. Very clean and well run
Review 57:they decided to install a motorized shutter like you find on the front of shops inside the hotel to block access to the reception Poor decision, when they open the reception in the morning the motor kicks off and you hear the shutter stretching to the top.... Very Noisey for any room located around or above the reception area
Review 58:recently decorated and large bed
Review 59:Shower head loose and would not stay in place. I was able to fix it in 5 seconds (with a borrowed screwdriver). Toilet seat loose. Sink almost blocked. Blind broken. These should all have been sorted. WiFi dreadful.
Review 60:Staff pleasant and helpful.
Review 61:Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The triple room was a good size, as was the superior double. Location was fabulous - right next to the covered market - a couple of mins walk to the centre and beach, with reasonably priced parking in the car park behind. Will definitely stay again.
Review 62:The onlything was if you had a room at the front on a Saturday its a bit noisy because of the market setting up and car parking is not free not to dear easy to get a ticket
Review 63:It is very central to everything
Review 64:Only negative is the road and early market noise if you are on the front of the hotel. Oh and no coffee facilities in the room.
Review 65:Friendly staff and good location. Premier rooms are a good size.
Review 66:Room was really small! And it's really expensive for what it is!
Review 67:The female staff at the reception was really welcoming and friendly and the pet friendly environment.
Review 68:Our only issue was that the room decor seemed dull and needed brightening up.
Review 69:The hotel is next to the market place and very central. Bars and restaurants are aplenty nearby. Hotel staff were very pleasant, the room was clean and above all it was quiet. Overall it was good value for money
Review 70:No bad experience, the only thing I would say is the bed was a little firm for me.
Review 71:We received a warm welcome from the young man on reception and were pleased to be told parking was free outside the hotel. Our room was small but modern, clean and well fitted. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and very good and the hotel is close to lots of bars and restaurants and 5 minutes walk from the sea.
Review 72:One of the outside rooms at the back across the car park has a bad drain smell!
Review 73:I like it when I have the roadside room on ground level as I have a small dog.
Review 74:The room size was rather `neat` and had we been staying longer than a couple of days might have felt more claustrophobic. There was free parking behind the hotel which we could have used on non-market days but we opted for the under-cover garage as we were staying when there could have been cold/wet/freezing weather. Getting a larger SUV into the underground garage was a test of nerve and driving skill as it was very tight - beware!
Review 75:The Hotel was well-priced and good value for what was on offer, especially as it included breakfast. The breakfast buffet was better than most we have experienced in Northern France outside of the main holiday season and the bed was comfortable. The whole Hotel was spotlessly clean - well done! Situated right next to the Market the location was good and the main street with the bigger shops and restaurants was only a short walk away
Review 76:We arrived after 21.00 hrs to find the hotel was not staffed - keys were left in our rooms but they had not been activated therefore we got locked out. Not a good start
Review 77:Location was perfect as everything was close by and the market on Saturday was a bonus. The Christmas lights in Le Touquet are fantastic
Review 78:Very cramped rooms. Could do with more hooks on the wall for coats etc. no need for dressing table as mirror other side of the room.
Review 79:Location - very central and does what it says on the tin. Comfy bed and shower, although needed main trance to the door seal was hot and powerful.
Review 80:We were allocated a twin room. I had said a twin or double would be fine. I received no details of what the cost for the twin (extra?) bed would be. My invoice was for €60. I was charged €83. When I queried this I was told it was the charge for the extra bed. If I had been told of this cost I would never have accepted a twin room. A totally unfair extra cost which ruined our stay. The two single beds were very narrow and squashed together giving a very crowded room. Not acceptable.
Review 81:Bathroom. Location
Review 82:Having breakfast included in my booking confirmation I was then charged again for breakfast. A total of 24 Euro for one breakfast which consisted of 2 boiled eggs, 2 slices of toast and a cup of coffee I was not pleased when the proprietor told me it was for tax.
Review 83:The boiled eggs and toast
Review 84:Personally the bed was a bit too soft for us we both had painful backs the next day, but this is just us.
Review 85:This was a good one night break I wonder what it would be like to park near the hotel in season and it is then all pay parking. Nice and quiet, breakfast good.
Review 86:Room size was barely bigger than the bed. Oh and the feature of the hotel that stood out the most was the lounge bar, was shut every evening.
Review 87:Great location, clean rooms modern feel. Good vfm.
Review 88:There was no English news channel but I didn't mind improving my French.
Review 89:We loved the welcoming staff and cleanliness of the hotel! Out favourite part was the bed, The size was huge and it was so comfy! Didn't want to leave! And the price made it even more of a bonus! Only £40 for our room and it was superb!
Review 90:The bed had a plastic mattress protector which I found a little annoying to sleep on but I guess it is for hygiene reasons.
Review 91:The hotel was in a good position five minutes walk to the beach and town. The staff were very nice and the breakfast was good.
Review 92:Room was very cozy and disappointing as we had upgraded to a club room therefore expected a larger room. We were told that upgrading meant that breakfast was included.
Review 93:Location was very good and secure parking useful. Continental breakfast was well presented and fresh.
Review 94:The parking situation. The cost is ridiculous, although this is down to the council and not the hotel.
Review 95:Lovely hotel. The room had a lovely decor. It had a great shower. Mini bar, wifi, tv. Everything one needed. The lounge area downstairs was great. The staff were very friendly. It's so close to the centre.
Review 96:it would be good to know the cost of a larger room at similar dates next year. The larger rooms looked excellent
Review 97:the location was excellent, and the staff were very helpful and patient, particularly when we found ourselves locked out of the hotel on a night when staff were not available and the code was on our room card!
Review 98:No full length mirror, and no hooks in bathroom to hang things on.
Review 99:Ease of check in, nice stylish room and bathroom, also location very convenient for shops and beach.
Review 100:Shower is over bath in our rooms, but shower head requires to be hand held as it rests in holder next to taps low down!
Review 101:Very friendly staff and happy to speak English if reqd. A great location near shopping/restaurants & bars and the beach. Saturday market right outside hotel, not to be missed. Smaller version held Mon & Thurs. Car park is next door but check meter for payable days. Max cost is €10 for whole day - mostly on w/e, market days and school hols. Bedrooms are small but functional but bring hangers! Would definitely use this hotel again @ approx £70 per night double room.
Review 102:Nothing really. there were no tea making facilities in the room but it was value for money.
Review 103:We were a group of 3 staying over for 1 night and I picked the hotel from the internet, checked the map and reviews and it seemed OK. We were really happy to arrive to see a very nice hotel with friendly staff. As far as we were concerned this couldnt have been in a better position for restaurants, beach etc. The bed was good and comfortable and bathroom clean and modern. A good breakfast was provided before we had a lovely walk along the sea front.
Review 104:Paying for parking but only at weekends. Rooms were smaller than expected from photos. No drawers in room.
Review 105:Breakfast & service. Cleanliness to a very high standard. Very French ambience.
Review 106:I think the cost of breakfast at the Be Cottageis on the high side for a continental breakfast. As we stayed in the garden annexe and didn't have any meals or drinks in the hotel we felt a bit detached but this is more a problem for the management, not for us.
Review 107:We are two female friends revisiting Le Touquet after a great stay at the Be Cottage in November 2013. This time we has a room each in the garden annexe. Absolutely wonderful. Big rooms, comfortable, stylish and we could have brought 3 more friends for the same money. We had our evening meal again at Le Paris - wonderful 3 course menu for under £20 each -breakfast al fresco opposite the market and all the delights of a high end market experience
Review 108:Top floor room in an annex. Despite it being a large room with a spare bed in it, the eaves and supporting beams meant a lot of space was unusable. To get out of the far side of the bed, one had to hold onto a beam with both hands and swing under it. I hit my head sitting in the armchair and also in the bathroom. Be careful which room you book, or are allocated.
Review 109:We had a very comfortable king size bed. The room was quiet and, unusual for most other hotels in the area, had coffee making facilities and a fridge.
Review 110:Your website said there would be tea & coffee making facilities. But there weren't any. The hotel doesn't do them.
Review 111:We had a ground floor room (hidden behind double doors in reception) with a huge comfortable bed, a huge shower room and a mini bar. Right by the market (Mon, Thurs and Sat) and a few minutes walk to the beach.
Review 112:Very noisy Friday night with revellers and early hours of Sat and Thurs as stall-holders set up market. No kettle in room as advertised, provided when asked but no cups/tea etc. Small fridge full of over-priced minibar but we emptied this and put to one side- useful for our own drinks and snacks. Balcony had one chair only.
Review 113:Position of hotel is immediately next to market and 200m walk to beach. Parking was free in market square except Weds and Fri overnights as market day Thurs and Sat- when we parked behind hotel for no charge. Powerful shower over bath, hot after few mins. Cute little hotel pub and next door bar/restaurant reasonable and friendly. Hotel staff variable- gentleman on for most of our stay was excellent, consistently pleasant and helpful, lady seemed to be in wrong industry, seemed too much trouble to even book us in. Large comfy bed. We requested and got a balcony over the street (only available with 2 rooms), large French doors. Cleaning available at flexible times of day, replenishing free toiletries etc.
Review 114:Would have liked to be able to get a drink in the bar in the evening but plenty of bars nearby.
Review 115:This is a small hotel, with some smaller rooms. We got what we expected for the price we paid. A clean comfortable bed, and bathroom. Breakfast was a cold buffet but toast was available. The location was very good, market right outside the door on Saturday morning and all restaurants and beach 5 minutes walk away.
Review 116:In the hotel descriptiob jt is said, that parking at the hotel isavailable without prior booking, but when we arrived there waa not asingle plave to park our car and Receptionist wasn't very helpfulfor us finding a new place to park our car, she said- I don't know,I don't know.eventually we found a place on the street severalblocks away. On the check out day we had a terribly uncomfortable andembarrassing morning as we were asked to pay for the stay and we werefully prepared to do so. But during the transaction it showedinsufficient funds on the account. We checked online that almost all themoney was missing and it wasn't showed where has it gone. We had topanic and find other funds to pay for he stay and we were not preparedto do so. We had to call friends to send as money as soon as possible,we gathered all the other cards we had and all the cash till the lasteuro to pay for the hotel. We had limited time as well cause we hadEurotunnel booked and we had planned everything to the minute to fit ourjourney. So we payed for the hotel and when returned back home, werealized that money was taken manually by hotel receptionist not lettingus know. Even hotel knew that they had taken payment from us, they stillasked us to pay double on the check out day.
Review 117:It was clean, cozy, great location and nice breakfast.
Review 118:Having booked by Internet well in advance we were put in the only room left which had no window. The only ventilation was to leave the door to the public courtyard open with the shutter half cosed!
Review 119:Location near the weekly market was good. Breakfast was also good.
Review 120:Thought it was expensive, even though the resort is quite expensive. Parking could be a problem.
Review 121:Location was good, right next to market, around corner from bars and restaurant and 5 mins walk to beach. Reception staff were very helpful.
Review 122:Our room was described as "cosy" in a "stylish" hotel. This stretches the meaning of "cosy" beyond reason. A bedroom of approximately 8 sq metres with no carpet and no curtains might be described as "small", "compact" or "basic", but not "cosy". Your site also mentions "secure private parking". This is not true. Parking is available in a public area by the hotel for which parking fees must be paid via public parking meters. This might not be covered by the Trade Descriptions Act but I wish it was - certainly when a price of €170 for one night is charged.
Review 123:Location, staff.
Review 124:Room 42, Our room was in a converted loft so the roof sloped a lot. I am 5'8 and had to stoop most of the time. My daughter who is over 6' Struggled. The stairway to the room is quite steep and elderly guests would have trouble going up and down it.
Review 125:It has a good location and the staff were very nice. Room was comfy if not a little quirky. I would consider staying there again.
Review 126:The loft room we had had limited headroom and two of the party were 6 foot+. Not a major problem as only booked one night.
Review 127:Clean, modern free parking when we were there. ideal for a long week end
Review 128:The room was hot through the night even with the window wide open which then let in the street noise. Not too bad but made for interrupted sleep. Not sure if it was because it was a Sunday night but when we visited the bar for a night cap we had to locate the staff member who although very nice did not seem to have the time for us. Served in a rush then disappeared again. Breakfast I believe was overpriced at €12.00 with an option of omellette or help yourself to toast but no other warm option.
Review 129:The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast room was clean and well presented. The day time staff member was polite and helpful
Review 130:No tea and coffee-making facilities. There was a lot of noise outside from the market traders setting up quite early on the Saturday, less so on the Monday -but we did have our window open because it was quite warm at nights.
Review 131:The location was good for getting around and had good parking next door- though avoid arriving on Monday, Thursday or Saturday which is market day! you can buy a parking ticket from the machine which lasts for your entire stay. It's also close to the beach.
Review 132:The cosy double was exactly that. Not a lot of room to move or layout case. Shower and bath were tight to access but not too much of an issue if you are not spending time in the room.
Review 133:Excellent location in centre of town. Very clean and staff helpful. Good for short stay stop over.
Review 134:Being woken very early on Thursday morning by the weekly market being set up outside; car parking is charged throughout the town (we therefore parked on the outskirts and cycled in!)
Review 135:Very clean, good variety for breakfast, location by market and close to town centre, very comfortable mattress, car parks on each side. Le Touquet has a great variety of restaurants & shops, lovely beach, leisure pool complex, thallassotherapy centre (though quite expensive), amazing equitation centre, fantastic cycle paths and footpaths in the area; museums and art galleries etc as well as all sorts of events held in the Summer months.
Review 136:Poor Internet . I thought 30 euros for the dog was excessive. Other hotels in Le Touquet charge between 10 and 20 and some for free. I wouldn't pay that again for my little dog!!!!!
Review 137:Room close to the road where my car was and great for the dog.
Review 138:Parking was difficult but that is not just this hotel. The booking said there was hotel parking but we were on street. It didn't particularly bother us but there was a street market setting up very early in the morning and our room was above that street. There is an extra market on Mondays during July & August.
Review 139:Spacious room. Comfortable bed. Quiet (apart from early morning market). Close to beach & shops & restaurants. Lovely breakfast room and felt very relaxed helping ourselves to the extensive cold buffet breakfast. Very friendly & helpful staff.
Review 140:The junior suite is not with the main hotel but at the back , you ll access your room via the car park . Our room ( 42 ) was under another room and it was too noisy .
Review 141:The location is great and central
