Review 1：The performance of hotel management and the personnell overall (except cleaning) was poor: Overbooking, rooms not ready on time, birthday cake orded was total catastrof, restaurant staff was rude, you can´t get a glass of wine with food without buying the whole bottle and so on...

Review 5：On arrival staff at reception didn't understand my Scottish accent even though I pronounced my words carefully, I only asked if there was parking facility's available I could have been in a hotel in Germany. Also room not ready but when it came available we were given complimentary glass of cava.

Review 10：Just came back from an amazing stay in the Universal Hotel Marques. Dream location on the peak of Colonia Di Jordi, stunning view on the sea from the hotel dining terrace and swimming pool. Beach just down the hotel with crystal clear waters. Very various buffet for all tastes and beautiful white and turquoise rooms. I recommand a room with sea view it is an unbeatable experience with sunset or sunrise. Gentle staff as well. We will definitely come back there .

Review 11：Is there still places you have to pay for Wifi? I thought not, but this hotel seems to be an exception. Our room was on 5th floor and signal was very weak. What should i pay for??? Also did not like that you have to pay for drinks at dinner. Even for water 2,10eur???

Review 13：The staff don't speak English. There was no disturb sign in the room, the housekeepers came into our room at 8.50am. There was no hanger for wet clothes.

Review 17：The hotel doesn't have enough staffs who can really communicate in English. I believe most of their patrons are from France and Germany. We need to pay €5 for Wifi per day which is a bit of a bummer.

Review 18：The location I think is among the best on the island. It is very close to Es Trenc beach, which is gorgeous. The beach behind the hotel is already good enough for us to go sunbathing on our arrival. We had the half-board package and the food was generous for a 3-star hotel. We got the budget double room and it was clean for both bedroom and the bathroom.

Review 22：Wonderful refurbished hotel in a great location. Very helpful, pleasant, friendly staff. Excellent buffet at breakfast and dinner. Some problems with WiFi but staff tried to get this rectified - you have to pay for WiFi. It's not a hotel for those who like to be in a very lively resort. Ideal location for Es Trenc nature reserve and the salt flats. We travelled to the Hotel Marques in May and look forward to a return visit!

Review 23：It would have been nice to have tea brewing facilities in the room.

Review 24：We chose the Marques for its location right next to some beautiful sandy beaches and excellent sea swimming with minimal nightlife bustle and noise. We had a corner balcony room with sea views on two sides which was a real bonus. The tremendous full breakfast and 4 course evening buffets needed to be exercised away with plenty of walks along the sea front (paved and boardwalks), pool and sea swimming as well as in the well found gym. The delightful centre of Colonia Sant Jordi is an easy few kilometres away with marina, supermarket, bars/cafes and some shops. The accomodation was first class, well maintained and clean with a daily room service. The staff were extremely friendly, polite and helpful at all times. If you are looking for a restful good value beach holiday this is the place to stay. Against our usual judgements I would return to the Marques. Enjoy!

Review 25：We didn't like that there were some extra charges, in particular for WiFi. There was noise from buses during a couple of nights for changeover. The constant line-dancing by some guests was a bit of a challenge but we survived.

Review 26：The location (the proximity of the beach and the views) is unbeatable and the dining terrace and pool area make the most of it. The hotel lobby and bar are well appointed and kept remarkably sand-free. The staff managed to be helpful, efficient, friendly and relaxed all at the same time. We appreciated the loan of a beach umbrella, kettle and thermos flask.

Review 27：Odd booking and payment system. We originally booked 2 night stay and wanted to arrange for a late checkout but the hotel could not accomodate. Instead we booked an additional night to enable us to use the room til 5pm. The hotel required pre-payment for the stay upon check-in but was not able to process payment for the additional night until the day of our checkout. They also held out drivers license at reception until we had completed payment but forgot to return it to us after we have paid. We had to remind them to give it back to us. Also, they do not allow 'charging to the room' for payment at checkout. Instead we had to use cash to buy drinks from the hotel bar during our stay. Lots of extra charges such as for use of wifi, beach/pool towel hire.

Review 28：The price is cheap, room 322 was clean and a had a very nice pool and sea view.

Review 29：mainly the hotel room. Although stayed in the new wing and with suberb views of the beach at night we could hear lots of noise coming from rooms above and next door...

The location was also superb! no need to rent a car or walk to the beach! finally the food was also really good and varied. Only miss more sea food variation (no schrimps, skids or navajas... )

Review 31：The behavior of the staff was terrible. Immediately after our arrival at the hotel the receptionist informed us that in the middle of stay, we will have to move to another room because our room is booked by someone else. As an apology they gave us a small bottle of cheap sparkling wine. Staff could not understand even basic English, so when we wanted in a restaurant, for example, help with selection of wine, nobody's been able to help. I dont understand how it is possible that the hotel, which houses a lot of tourists from different countries, no staff speak English. Top of all was the day of our departure, when we went to pay the bill at the front desk and the receptionist Francisco started to lie to us that we have to leave the room at 10, which is 2 hours earlier than stated in all the papers. So when we've speak out that in the papers mentioned something else, receptionist Francisco began to tell that if leave the room at 12, so we will not be able to take a shower later when we go from the beach. Finally we left the room at 12, as mentioned in the papers, and we wanted to get back our passports, that we left at the front desk on the day of our arrival. And there was another problem. No one knew where our passports are, and they began to convince us that we certainly picked them up. I do not know how this could happen because we were left our passports there against signature. So what about all those signatures when they in the final do not know if the passports we picked up or not. Immediately at the beginning of search passports, I pointed receptionist Francisco, I remember how his colleague impose our passports in the safe. He lied that he was looking into the safe and passports are not there. Finally a few hours later his colleague really found our passports in the safe. Fortunate that our flight was in the evening, because if we were to departure a few hours earlier, so we would not be able to depart home and would fail our air tickets.

The hotel is situated with a stunning stretch of beach to one side and to the other side a lovely walk around the coast to the port. The food was excellent with a wide choice and the room was very comfortable having 2 balconies and fully air conditioned.
