Reviews for Hotel Sparre
Review 1:the rooms and hotel are in a bad condition. the wi-fi was free but the connection speed was similar to dial-up modem connections.
Review 2:the hotel is located in the city center, not far from the old town
Review 3:Location inside an offices building. Necessity to take a lift to access the hotel. No private parking. Staff unable to indicate a large free parking no very far, which did exist actually. So, I had to move my car in the street at 8 a.m.
Review 4:Easy to find in the town.
Review 5:Surroundings and the hotel itself.
Review 6:The family room with the sofa bed wasn't too bad but the adjoining rooms were terrible. The hotel is very old and basic. The staff was nice (however only one person for everything. She was nice and helpful)
Review 7:TV-channels, you should have more channels on english and swedish (I´m swedish). The walls were to thin? I could here sounds and noise from the neighbour room. More info on swedish (Porvoo is a high swedish populated City and we were surprise of ther lack of swedish info).
Review 8:Close to downtown,
Review 9:Cracked walls and sink, curtains did not cover windows, very poor furnishing and cheap bed/mattress. Paper cups in the room, tea bags but no milk. Tv remote didn't work. Very expensive for poor quality.
Review 10:Location.
Review 11:The bathroom tiles were mouldy and it had spread to the shower door too. The hard boiled eggs at the breakfast had been there for a while...
Review 12:The location was very good.
Review 13:The room was not very big and modern-looking. The choice of dishes at breakfast could have been a bit bigger.
Review 14:Great location, near the bus station and the old town. Friendly stuff, great wi-fi, comfortable beds.
Review 15:The hotel room was not cleaned properly, dust could be found all over. The wash basin had a big crack, not hygienic at all. The breakfast was very poor, the smallest selection we had in all Finland. The whole hotel seemed run by young girls, who did both the reception work and cleaned the room and perhaps the breakfast. Cheap labor, but way too expensive rooms
Review 16:Unmodern rooms. And a little dirty bathrooms. The straff was to few. Always somwere else than in the reception. The reception close at 14:00 at sundays. So be sure to have a code to the gate if you check in that day. Bad info about that.
Review 17:Central location. Close to old town and restaurants. Quite spacious rooms.
Review 18:The place has not seen any maintenance in the last 20-years or so, and the 110 eur we paid for one night was definitely way too much for this dump!
Review 19:Location
Review 20:Lousy breakfast - the place was run down.
Review 21:Grim rooms, in need of updating. Characterless
Review 22:Friendly staff and good location
Review 23:This place is filthy and is literally faling apart
Review 24:Non comfort beds, No reading light by the beds
Review 25:Very poor breakfast
Review 26:Staff very friendly
Review 27:Parking Price Poor Internet Not Clean
Review 28:Old-fashioned
Review 29:It is a boarding house, but expensive as much as hotel.
Review 30:Price was quite high for me
Review 31:The staff was friendly and location was good, its just near the bus
Review 32:Dirty, dusty rooms
Review 33:Would not recommend to anyone, for sure to expensive for what it is. The water from the shower took the entire night to drain out, with a lot of noise. In the morning the bathroom was still a swimming pool. TV remote control not working; staff not very helpful. Very disappointing experience.
Review 34:Our bathroom sink was very old and had cracks in it and looked like it had been that way for a long time. There was also no mini fridge, something which was needed in the room as I would have like to have stored some cheese, milk and other snacks. Apart from this, the rest of the room was great.
Review 35:We enjoyed our stay every much. Although the hotel took me back in time to the 70's, I still very much enjoyed the relaxed approach that this hotel offers. We felt very comfortable and was given a lot of space and freedom in the hotel. I would definitely recommend to those who are looking for a quiet and peaceful time. The city of Porvoo is very beautiful and coming back to this hotel each night made it very memorable.
Review 36:breakfast was said to bee intil 1000, when we visited the breakfastroom, it was closed by 0900! we asked for a sandwich, but was denied. we asked for a cup of coffi, and was denied. poor service for payiing Euro 300.- (2 rooms, 2 nights)
Review 37:The staff appear for only a few hours a day. We had a problem with WiFi connection and there was no one to help us. The sauna was out of order.
Review 38:Located in downtown, good price, nice room.
Review 39:It was chilly in the room. The facilities are quite shabby. WiFi was temporary unavailable in the room. Too expensive!
Review 40:The location is excellent. All rooms have a kettle. Very nice breakfast.
Review 41:Downstairs there is a Parking, shared with a supermarket, but the hotel has no Parking places. I wanted to pay for Parking, but reception money does not accept and where to pay't know.
Review 42:unprofessional staff, non-existent service, crazy propotions from staff (like having only one key to 2 person room with no 24hour reception service and no idea how another one of the guests might get in during late night hours), very worn place.
Review 43:location
Review 44:I didn't like only 1 thing: It's a very bad smell in the parking area ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((- ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((
Review 45:No air conditioning. No mini bar. Dust everywhere. Smelt moldy. Had to put own dishes away for breakdast. Minimal staff that was worried about uou leaving by 8 to get your car away from the parking spot.
Review 46:We stayed here only for one night but it was a real quest. As it was Sunday evening the hotel personal does not work. So I informed them about your late arrival and they sent me different keys from the doors and instruction how to get to the hotel. It was funny but easy! Sauna works from 18 till 20 for women and from 20 till 22 for men. I was a littel bit upset as we arrive after 20... Good Wi-fi connection, good, normal breakfast, clean rooms
Review 47:no receptionist at 4pm run down duty breakfeast very bad window broken ....and so very noisy... It is a NO GO
