Reviews for Pol Hotel
Review 1:No shower hook or curtain so could only use the bath. This was the same for our daughter's room. Few stains on carpet
Review 2:Location. Cleanliness of the room. Spacious bathroom & large bed.
Review 3:On arrival no parking, dimly lit, not clean, renovation work in progress, TV not working, cold water only in morning - we were the only guests - the room rate was way too high even if all of the above were rectified. This hotel simply should not have been open for business.
Review 4:This was not a 4 star hotel. Television, Internet and heat did not work. Sheets were stained and curtains were broken. Hotel room was worth half the price we paid and did not even include breakfast.
Review 5:Staff was friendly and location was good.
Review 6:No tea or coffee facilities in room and we got charged 10 euros for a small pot of tea while sat in reception basic to bland decor
Review 7:Location near market & main area
Review 8:We lived in Touquet for a number of years and had indeed watched the renovations a few years ago. Today it looks like that it hasnt had any Tlc in many many years.
Review 9:Room was a little tired and needed re-decoration. Having to crouch in the bath to take a shower, there was no curtain or screen!
Review 10:the location, the price. Cheap breakfast available next door
Review 11:Nothing to mention.
Review 12:We were lucky to book this pleasant hotel at short notice. Convenient for the local restaurants, sea and parking get. I would recommend this hotel to my friends, family and anyone wishing to stay there. Great reception and warm welcome. Thank you.
Review 13:The breakfast is not worth the money, the tv is not working properly, the bed is too high for my conform and so on .
Review 14:I liked the location, the staffs are Ok,it's clean also.
Review 15:The room although clean and comfortable was a little tired and I wouldn't be happy if I'd have paid the full rate the hotel advertised for this room. Plus the air conditioning didn't work. The staff on check out didn't ask about our stay and just handed the bill!
Review 16:The location was great, parking is on local streets and costs around 4€ per day.
Review 17:No good views but we were very happy with the silence.
Review 18:Very nice staff, nice room decoration in pleasant colour scheme. We had a budget room but was very nice, rooms in the courtyard are very silent which we found nice. On departure we received a bottle of water for our short bike trip back to the airport, nice touch !
Review 19:Dirty, run down room. Guy on reception thought he didn't have a room for me - despite booking weeks earlier. There was a mistake with the name but he refused to look at the booking numbers which were on the paper I had printed out. Finally figured it out then directed us to a basement room where the WiFi did not work. It was dirty and the ceiling in the bathroom looked like it would fall down at any time as water was leaking through it onto our floor below. Breakfast was ordinary and over priced. This hotel is very over priced for what you got. Not recommended. Avoid!
Review 20:Good bed, good location.
Review 21:Room in need of small repairs. Requested double, but twin beds pushed together. Requested room with shower but only had bath with hand held shower. Hotel bar drinks very expensive without clear indication of prices. Free parking 10 mins walk away.
Review 22:Location central to bars/restaurants and beach
Review 23:They should tell you of the market which is on near the Hotel on a Saturday. This makes parking very difficult.
Review 24:Staff very friendly and the distance to restaurants is excellent
Review 25:The market sets up early on a Thursday morning so dont park outside !!
Review 26:Located really well for beach and for town. Its a short walk to either. Parking nearby and handy for the City Carrefour shop for any essentials. Lift to our floor and very nice welcome. Fridges in rooms and nice soft towels.
Review 27:TV didn't work. We were not aware it was an internal back patio room with no views at all. Although the space in this family room was generous, it felt as if we were in a cave. Ar con did not work easily. Mattress was in need of replacement. Plug in bath came off, needs replacement. Bedroom looked in need of better cleaning, maybe a revamp, or paint.
Review 28:Location. Reception.
Review 29:First sight of Hotel is off putting, paint peeling off balcony above entrance, worn and shabby furniture in reception, rusting steelwork in courtyard. Definitely not a boutique hotel feel.
Review 30:Staff were very helpful and nice
Review 31:Missing a electrical outlet in the bathroom; the shower handle cannot be fixed to the wall, we need to hand during the shower. There is a bar (Tabac) near by the hotel and can be noisy at night (people talking on the street).
Review 32:Very good location, we can park the car really in front of the hotel (public parking), 24 hours reception, room is very illuminated.
Review 33:The hotel is badly in need of refurbishment . To say the rooms are tired would be an understatement . In addition the cleaning of the rooms is unsatisfactory . For the price you have to pay for a room here we would have expected a much higher standard of accommodation .
Review 34:The location was the only thing positive about this hotel.
Review 35:No proper shower. Have to sit in bath with shower head. Wife has bad back and found it uncomfortable. Understand proper showers are being installed next year. Needs a mirror in room. Rooms need a paint touch up. No Wi-Fi
Review 36:Near the centre by the market square. Very good breakfast and helpful staff. Rooms are clean and bed comfortable.
Review 37:Place would have been nice, once. Desparately needs a lick of paint. There are grease marks on the walls from peoples heads where theyhaven't had a headboard (looks gross!) Rooms are much smaller thanappear on the internet, airconiditioning doesn't work so we had tohave the windows open and there is a market on saturdays right in frontof the hotel. Don't bother with breakfast - masses of places to goout and take a wonder to. We made that mistake.
Review 38:Good location, nice and helpful person at the reception.
Review 39:We were arriving late at night and we were still greeted with excellent hospitality. Amazing room and very clean. Staff very friendly and nothing was too much too ask.
Review 40:I was disappointed not to be able to check in on arrival... This was simply because the hotel had permitted the previous occupants of the room a late checkout. We gained access to the room after 4pm. I thought this outrageous .. Otherwise the stay was fine.
Review 41:Excellent location!
Review 42:The bed had clean sheets but that was it. The floor surroundings were filthy I don't believe floors were hoovered or cleaned prior to our arrival. Also side board was dirty too. Glad we hadn't orders breakfast as I would never have eaten there!
Review 43:Location, friendly staff
Review 44:No tea and coffee making facilities but that is the norm in France.
Review 45:Very nice hotel in a great location by the market square. Only a short walk to the beach, promenade, restaurants and shops. I'm glad we didn't have to pay the full rate posted in the hotel, it was nearly 3 times what we actually paid. Free roadside parking or there is a small, free car park about 100 yards from the hotel.
Review 46:Table & Chairs on the balcony are in awful condition. AirCon not working Expensive for a 2* hotel
Review 47:Loved the balcony! Location is great Easy to park (4Euro/day) Helpful staff
Review 48:The basement room we had was very warm and the cooling system wasn't working properly.
Review 49:Nice clean, spacious room and bathroom. The staff were very nice and helpful. Location is very central.
Review 50:Ordered room service but was forgotten, told it was to be 'on the house' only to be charged later. No parking facilities and no tea/coffee making in room
Review 51:Spacious room, clean, friendly staff (only saw one person)
Review 52:Bedrooms were very dark and all painted in a muddy brown colour. Hotel generally looked very tired and not as good as in the photos. Wifi didn't work in our room.
Review 53:The staff were very helpful. Hotel in a good location within the centre of the town so easy to walk to everything
Review 54:The first room they gave us.. in a basement. Breakfast at €12 per person too expensive so didn't have it.
Review 55:They changed our room upon request. No deposit required. The owner was very pleasant in the morning.
Review 56:No tea and coffee facilities in room. Air con didn't work and the room was very stuffy. No view at all from our room which was a shame.
Review 57:Good size room and excellent location. Good value for money.
Review 58:The Hotel was not easy to find because the Name is only etched on the door glass, and no number on the property to identify it.
Review 59:The wet room for my wife.
Review 60:Polite staff, excellent location as advertised
Review 61:Slow internet No standup shower
Review 62:Location Super friendly Mr. Didier
Review 63:No mirror near a plug ..... Air conditioning poor
Review 64:Good location friendly staff excellent coffee
Review 65:Much the same as what I liked
Review 66:Very modest, self-effacing kind of establishment with good location
Review 67:Great location, extremely friendly and helpful staff.
Review 68:The wifi and television didn't work and they knew this!!!
Review 69:They were very friendly and polite.
Review 70:The bedroom was not as good as expected for the price.
Review 71:Great location, nice and helpful staff.
Review 72:Friendly helpful staff
Review 73:Too dark Wifi only in lobby To didn't seem to work
Review 74:Location
Review 75:rooms need updating.
Review 76:Close to town, good size rooms for Le Touquet
Review 77:No air conditioning
Review 78:The location was perfect The people very friendly The rooms well decorated
Review 79:Great location
Review 80:Bordering on shabby, needs refurb
Review 81:Location good
Review 82:Room was dark 4 light bulbs not working hairdryer not working , safe not secured , satellite TV not working .
Review 83:Location in town centre parking near by
Review 84:Position in town
Review 85:Location for market and town
Review 86:Quality and cleanliness of the room
Review 87:The staff
Review 88:Room was too hot, aircon would not work and with the window open the noise outside was intolerable until 6.00am
Review 89:nothing
Review 90:Good tidy, clean ok for one night
Review 91:staff were extremely helpful owner present & assisted with cycle routes around Le Touquet to obtain full appreciation of area
Review 92:bin collections and rowdy drunken behaviour appeared to go on all night
Review 93:convenient town centre location close to all amenities
Review 94:lighting was a bit gloomy in the bathroom - no good for doing make-up!
Review 95:simple modern design, clean, helpful staff, fairly central location.
Review 96:No facilities, not even tea/coffee in room
Review 97:Location, price, clean, polite staff
Review 98:Excellent location great hosts couldn't be more helpful, thank you
Review 99:Air conditioning didn't work, was supposed to be fixed but wasn't. No tea or coffee facilities in room.
Review 100:Parking needs to be considered and it is very expensive for what it is.
Review 101:Handy location in the town centre. We had a room at the front which might be quit noisy at the height of the season but all in all we enjoyed our stay
Review 102:Our Guest was there late, when we arrived at 23:00. Friendly even if tired! Looked at our car to make sure that it was well parked. The next morning, he gave us advice about where to go for running.
Review 103:Rooms a bit sparse. No tea or coffee in room. No reception service. Noisy location. Parking difficult due to market holders etc. bet not comfy. 2 singles shoved together rather than a proper double bed. Avoid
Review 104:Good location. Very central.
Review 105:The whole place could do with refurbishment, otherwise all fine.
Review 106:The location was great, on a main street but quiet at night, good parking (free the week we were there). We had a good rate, so good value. We paid 12 euros for breakfast, which was fair. The owner was pleasant and very helpful, suggesting restaurants etc.
Review 107:No fault of the hotel but booking.com do not make it clear to the hotel if a double bed or twin beds are required even though through the booking process you choose what you want. This does need to be sorted by Booking.com as we had 3 double beds but had requested 1 double and 2 twins.
Review 108:We arrived late in the evening but had already notified the hotel of this. The rooms were clean and modern looking. The mastic around the bath area could do with touching up.
Review 109:Lovely hotel with very nicely appointed room. Really helpful staff and in a great position for the main shopping area and a short walk from the seafront.
Review 110:Not all of the rooms have been redecorated from when they first opened -the picture on the website is of a newer incarnation than the one thatwe had (12) Breakfasts are expensive for the offering
Review 111:Great location very welcomng and helpful staff great reception area(although it soesn't seem to get used much by guests)
Review 112:Bath has a hand held shower which is very French but you can accidentally dowse the room.
Review 113:Good sized room for France, comfortable bed and recently refurbished - very nice atmosphere and good value.
Review 114:Our basement room as small and felt stuffy, with no facilities for making coffee or tea. The TV would not work properly. Spend half an hour trying all the buttons.ie could only get a German channel showing non stop hip hop music. There was no car park, so had to park about 500 metres away. Thought the cost of 160 Euros a bit excessive for 1 night, and breakfast was 16 Euro each extra, so gave it a miss.
Review 115:Convenient for the market square on Saturday morning market day, town centre and the sea nearby.
Review 116:This is the 3rd time we have stayed at The Pol. It is great value for money, in a perfect location and the rooms are clean, comfortable and well decorated. I took my parents this time for their wedding anniversary and they had also would now revisit. The staff are very helpful and friendly. ie; warming my babies milk for me at 11pm. We will definitely be back for another visit.
Review 117:No kettle for making drinks in room. No customer parking. Rooms very bare of accessories.
Review 118:Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location in middle of town. Quiet at night. Modern decor. Family room available
Review 119:Breakfast room was in the basement and the room was airless. Breakfast expensive and poor. Bedroom was dark and in need of refurbishment. Walls were scuffed. Carpets stained and in fact wet outside of the bathroom. Ew!
Review 120:Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Bed was comfortable and linen was good quality.
Review 121:The pictures of the hotel on booking.com did not show the real polhotel. In real life The pol hotel is not a nice small Boutique-hotel. Itis not a very clean/fresh hotel. If you pay almost 200 euro a nightyou would expect airconditioning. They did not even serve eggs forbreakfast. My experience with The pol hotel was terrible. That is why wecancelled the second night and moved to The Westminster hotel. Sameprice and a real 4 star!! Hotel.
Review 122:Brown rooms, wallpaper peeling off, stained carpets, dusty hell hole. 4 star you are having a laugh. Mre like a youth hostel and £149.00 per night No breakfast!
Review 123:This is not a boutique hotel. The room was very basic with few facilities - not even a mirror in the bedroom. The fridge was covered in mould. The 'air con' did not work
Review 124:The people were friendly It was quiet
Review 125:For some reason we were allocated a disabled room, which was fine. The only problem was the bathroom which was a wet room, which got really wet.
Review 126:Location was excellent, next door to a local café/bar which served an excellent petite dejeuner in the garden. (cheaper than the hotel)
Review 127:NO wireless connection available in bedrooms. Wired connections is old school for new age iPads and tablets !
Review 128:Clean, central location, walking distance to shops & restaurants, easy (public) parking, modern facilities, English TV channels !
Review 129:From the outside the hotel is hard to spot on arrival ,and its exterior is unprepossessing compared with its interior.Directions for locating it on its website could be clearer.Once safely inside, however ,we really liked it.
Review 130:The location of Pol hotel was excellent, being right by the Saturday market in Le Touquet, and very convenient for restaurants, shops, and the beach. The staff were particularly friendly and helpful, and took great trouble to find and book us an excellent restaurant on a busy bank holiday weekend, and to advise us over parking.Although very central our well-appointed room was quiet,
Review 131:Scruffy paintwork. Bathroom tiles dirty. Courtyard ironwork rusty. Overpriced. Family room should be two rooms with interconnecting door not one room with two beds.
