Reviews for Pierre & Vacances Les Jardins de la Côte d'Opale

Review 1:Everything else. The room was dusty, Throughout the entire hotel, tbe hallway corridor carpets were filthy! Patchy with various types of stain. You can hear all sounds r romantic rooms above and below. Weird. I will not be returning.

Review 2:The staff

Review 3:The stairwell was in dire need of renovation!

Review 4:The pool was great. Warm and open til 8pm I think. Really comfy beds and good showers. Great location and a short drive from Le Touquet (walkable in about 20 mins probably)

Review 5:Taxis were expensive which were needed for evenings (about 20-25 minute walk to town). But this was our choice as we wanted to drink and not walk!

Review 6:The price-can't go wrong. Clean, spacious, everything we needed. Staff were friendly and the pool was great

Review 7:We arrived late and the check in needed a 'phone call to access the keys.

Review 8:We loved the flat. It was spacious, clean and well equipped. The staff were lovely and the pool was good.

Review 9:Asked for room on 2nd floor, given room on Ground floor with a disabled toilet. The room we asked for was given to some French people who did not like the ground floor room that we ended up with. Very poor treatment.

Review 10:Really small apartment, supposed to be for 6 to 7 persons. The floor was not cleaned before our arrival. The building needs to be refurbished.

Review 11:The location is super. The beach and city center is on a walk distance.

Review 12:Shabby building inside and out. Limited checking in/out times. Not friendly welcome - demanding tax de sojour immediately. Unable to use bath, but no staff available. Facilities closed early during peak holiday season. DIY holiday accommodation, one step up from a caravan.

Review 13:It was close to Calais for our crossing back to England

Review 14:Well designed pad. Nice extra touches like dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid. All you needed in well designed compact space. Very quiet at night. Pool an added bonus. Heated towel rail, coffee maker and dishwasher added a bit of luxury. Walking distance to fab beach.

Review 15:Great location and friendly with good facilities but felt expensive for what it was. Cramped for 5 for one night (supposed to be for up to 7) so good for stopover but not too sure about longer stays. No facilities locally to get food basics so be prepared in case arrive late! Check in at 5 a little late. All sounds grumbly but was still an ok stay.

Review 16:The accommodation was comfortable, a short walk into the town. The heating, pool, bikes and table tennis were all very good and staff friendly and helpful.

Review 17:Arriving late with an 8 month old, no staff, doors locked (number to call though) and having to make 5 beds was a bit stressful.

Review 18:Location is nice, but quite a walk into town. Room was pristine clean and if you know you are expected to make the beds then it is fine!

Review 19:the staff not really friendly at the arrival and departure seems to be not very professional , (they didn't wrote our breakfast order)

Review 20:the situation and very easy with a dog appartment perfect for 2 or 3 persons rather cleen but the 2 terrasses were very dirty

Review 21:Smell,Stained carpets Make own bed and strip beds and put in hall withrubbish, no drink machine working. Wrong key in envelope. Welcome packwas cleaning materials, thought should be tea/coffee etc, staff notunderstand English. No bar coffee shop or restaurant. What did I pay for

Review 22:Balcony but needed little table

Review 23:We didn't like that it didn't have a bar when it was advertised all so that we asked for 2 bed rooms and got a pull out bed it stated that the bed was made and we had to make them

Review 24:It was a good location

Review 25:Very over priced - make your own bed!!! Room tiny if you have children - pool filthy - staff at best can give you a key - no bar or refreshment facility as broken - stay somewhere slightly more expensive and get so much more

Review 26:Once made the bed was comfortable but to make you put on your own sheets!!! Are you kidding??!!

Review 27:- unpleasant smell in the bathroom, - furniture worn out - one toilet paper roll - no oven - limited snacks available onsite - for a small child a walk to the beach or town center is rather long

Review 28:- nice swimming pool, - a small outside playground for kids and an inside area with some toys, - decently equipped kitchenette including "bio" cleaning stuff, - green part of le touquet, - bike rental available, - cycling, walking and horse riding paths nearby, - nice staff, - free parking, - secure code entrance

Review 29:Reception staff absol no word of English. Swimming Pool full of hair. Poor surrounding deck area.Very tired carpets in hallways. No local shop

Review 30:Size of apartment. Kitchen well equipped.

Review 31:The place was rather shabby. Pool floor was not clean. We thought we'd booked 2 bedrooms, but one was living room. Quite a lot of building noise (drilling) in the early morning

Review 32:Once we'd overcome our late arrival & shortage of suitable bedding, apartment was adequate for our needs & was a good base for our sojourn in Le Touquet. It was also quiet (apart from occasional jet fighter!).

Review 33:Making our own beds on arrival Smell from cesspit(?) Noise of scraping chairs from neighbouring apartment at 0200hrs 1 loo roll for 5 persons

Review 34:Excellent pool Secure parking

Review 35:Nothing to complain about! Kids were a little disappointed with the French TV and no English channels but who goes away to watch TV!

Review 36:The rooms were very clean, comfortable and with plenty of space. The pool was great for the kids. Not a bad stroll to the town, my 6 year old had no problem walking it. Or you can hire their bikes if needed.

Review 37:There was no oven (we had to fry the oven chips!) Also it was quite a distance from the town, with no restaurants or shops nearby.

Review 38:The apartment was big enough for 2 adults and 2 teenagers it was clean and comfortable and the swimming pool was a bonus!

Review 39:All apartments are carpeted and over years they are filthy and smell bad. Dogs are welcomed so heaven knows what some of the Stains are. Management advise refurbishment Due this winter . Some areas need it badly.

Review 40:Pretty location in park. Quiet and easy to sleep. Excellent heated large pool. Clean and spacious grounds. Parking easy and secure. Entry security system. Heating in all rooms if required. Linen and towels clean and provided. Sufficient for stay.

Review 41:Our only comment would be that the whole place could do with a lick of paint! New carpets in the apartment wouldn't go a miss!

Review 42:The apartment was very spacious, beds where extremely comfortable, nice outside space, swimming pool and decking area really nice. Location perfect for walking into centre.

Review 43:To far from town had to drive in. Unable to walk anywhere, certainly not with 2 young children. Had to make all the beds when we arrived.

Review 44:Nice warm indoor pool but no changing facilities so had to run through reception in towel!

Review 45:Mattresses a bit soft for me.

Review 46:Self catering facilities very good. More spacious than some apartments I've been to. Better standard of cleanliness and upkeep that previous reviews led me to believe. Quite, tranquil and peaceful setting (@ most times - apart from wedding at the nearby caravan park one night- but can't blame P&C for that). Cellophane-wrapped towels/ sheets/ pillow/ duvet covers on arrival.

Review 47:Not having a toaster in the apartment or oven also no extractor. The outside sun terrace around the pool needs a little TLC.

Review 48:The Swimming pool The peacefulness of the area The close proximity of a good restaurant and bar at the yatcht club

Review 49:Needs painting and decor.

Review 50:Cheap and cheerful everything you need for a young family. If you want luxury pay more and go to a hotel with 4 stars. It's clean and the pool is good. Need a bit of tlc but if you can look past the paint and carpet.

Review 51:Kitchen facilities a little basic. Had to make our own beds

Review 52:Swimming pool was lovely and warm. Facilities were fine for two nights Lovely area and not too far from Calais

Review 53:outdated building, would need to be completely refreshed not clean at all very tiny space - an appartment for 7 is actually appropriate for 4 persons! not so well located, far from the city center and from the sea - good only if you practice horse riding

Review 54:swimming pool

Review 55:Horaire d'ouverture de l'accueil Service Boulangerie trop tardif Aération insuffisante des appartement (d'où odeur de renfermé)

Review 56:Localisation Calme Piscine Parking aisé Literie OK

Review 57:Not as neat and tidy as in our previous visits. The carpeting could certainly do with replacing. Several of the hand rails and the toilet where loose. We where unable to use the safe deposit facility, as it had been locked!

Review 58:Lovely grounds, plenty of space. The indoor pool also has indoor and outdoor areas for sunbathing. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

Review 59:This place is like a hostel, wouldn't give the rooms a 0 rating. The receptionist was rude and ignorant on first meeting, when we finally had the keys to our room, I was nearly sick on entering, the stench was disgusting, really grotty rooms, paint spots where they just painted the dirt. The carpets we gross, stains all in the hallway and stairs. Got a key to another room and again it was just as bad. This was out first break in ages, really disappointed as the pictures certainly did not match the rooms at all. I have never written on these reviews before, and been away a few times, however, I want people to know not to book this place.

Review 60:No restaurant or bar

Review 61:The pool

Review 62:It was clean Pool was good 2 showers was good as there were 7 of us.

Review 63:Nice and quiet as we went in October. Pool was a great bonus.

Review 64:Nothing major just would be nice if staff can talk english, apart from that great!

Review 65:Absolutely perfect accommodation! Staff excellent. Second visit here and will be returning! Fantastic!

Review 66:Complex old and out of date

Review 67:Swimming pool

Review 68:A bar at the hotel would be a great addition.

Review 69:The pool was excellent and apartment perfect for our family.

Review 70:swimming pool was cold. Nearby shooting centre made constant noise whilst we were there

Review 71:Spacious apartment. Separate bath and shower was nice

Review 72:No English TV and no wifi ,,lift very old and not safe ...

Review 73:Bed is clean and the room are nice

Review 74:Bathroom a bit dirty...no toilet pape but pleasent venue overall...good spot and good spave and decent self catering equipment

Review 75:Check out far too early at 10.00, mid-day would be better. An oven would had been a help.

Review 76:no toaster

Review 77:the swimming pool

Review 78:old and tired make up your own beds dirty

Review 79:Swimming

Review 80:No nearby shops open when we wanted.

Review 81:Good position in the area. Facilities fine for an older couple Good value

Review 82:Is further from town centre than some places we've stayed, but it's a very pleasant twenty minute walk so it didn't bother us. Communal areas a bit shabby; cordoned off children's play area, dog mess in the grounds outside our room, swimming pool floor-covering coming away from the floor. But generally it was well maintained and for the price I wouldn't complain about those little issues.

Review 83:Was worried after reading other reviews, but we found the rooms to be perfectly clean and pleasant. Swimming pool and grounds are nice for children. Free parking outside. Very good value for money, 1 bedroom and 1 living room with sofa bed more than enough for family with small children - might be a bit cramped for 5 adults. This is not luxury accomodation compared to other Le Touquet hotels, but for the price it's perfectly acceptable.

Review 84:No shop. Had to pay extra for toilet Roll. Not enough towels. The Staff.....? Nobody about on receiption at certain times..

Review 85:It was ok for a 2 night stay..

Review 86:Nothing written in English Family room cramped Asked for cot on booking and a gift for my daughter as it was her birthday - nothing acknowledged. You have to make up your own beds on arrival. They are strict you depart in time or else lose your deposit of 200 euros. 2 bathrooms but 1 toilet? Nothing in room to keep it clean but must be cleaned on departure? Would not recommend it

Review 87:Swimming pool shut when we got there due to a broken tile but opened as departing so got 10 mins in there

Review 88:Tired hotel, Smelly rooms, dirty carpets, poor decoration, poor external maintenance with leaking rainwater pipes, mouldy walls, badly patched up concrete. Have to make your own beds up. Uncomfortable beds with thin mattresses

Review 89:Pool, location

Review 90:The TV channels were limited for English speakers but as we were not there to watch TV not really an issue.

Review 91:Very good location, close enough to walk into the town but far enough away to be quite and restful. Apartment we'll equipped and clean and tidy. Plenty of space with two balconies from bedroom and living area.

Review 92:Staff not friendly at all, the room was not very clean. The hotel advertises a playground for children, however there was a playground but locked up as in very poor conditions and unsafe for children. The hotel is in need of a significant revamp.

Review 93:The location of the hotel is good. Swiming pool was ok.

Review 94:Staff not very helpful. Wanted to rent bikes and reception lady was unhelpful and offered no suggestions, yet we saw lots of rental bikes around. Asked for help in understanding a parking ticket, again no help at all from the reception lady. As the first and in this case only point of contact with customers, she let the hotel down.

Review 95:Pool. Convenience to town. Didn't expect towels and they were included.

Review 96:The staff were terrible, so rude and never offered any help or asked if we needed anything. Would never go back here purely based on the staff. Only ever saw 2 ladies working there who were both equally vile. lack of towells and toilet roll. Room never cleaned in 3 days. A good time had by all but really let down by the rude staff.

Review 97:The room was comfortable, the pool was good and an added bonus. The location was good and a short walk in to the town centre.

Review 98:Use to provide more facilities eg towels, washing up stuff . Accommodation getting a bit tired and needs updating.

Review 99:Swimming pool great. Location great. Good parking

Review 100:no towels provided lack of information from reception staff

Review 101:Family able to be all together 2 bathrooms Equiptment in kitchen ground floor room with patio

Review 102:Dirty, old and tired. Towels not even included and had to be rented, was not advised of this earlier. Basin in bathroom leaking and gushing water on floor. Man came to fix it and we we told not to use it or a few hours for the glue to dry! Pool closes at 7pm which is too early.

Review 103:Location and price

Review 104:Everything needs re doing, top to bottom. We were given a very small room, the children's beds were a very hard sofa bed, no soap or towels included. For £90 it was ridiculously expensive for what it was, I would of paid £50 at the most

Review 105:Close to most things

Review 106:Tired decor, charging for towels with no mention of this policy on the website

Review 107:Quiet location, well designed apartment, nice gardens, good outside chairs

Review 108:It was a little bit tired looking, swimming pool lining was on it's last days, but this didn't really detract from the experience

Review 109:It was ideal for a young family. Rooms were adequate and comfortable and had all the required kitchen equipment. Swimming pool was enjoyed. Parking was good

Review 110:The whole interior is long overdue refurbishment. It is shabby and stained and not worth the price paid.

Review 111:The location and site. Well situated within Le Fouquet and in pleasant grounds. The pool was quite good.

Review 112:Not quite enough kitchen equipment. No toaster.

Review 113:Beautiful setting. Reasonably priced and spacious. Was informed before Iarrived that the pool was out of order and given a 50 euros refund

Review 114:The rooms were small and dark. They were also in need of refurbishment, door handles weren't fitted and came off in your hand, shower grout was black places and they paint work was falling off. The apartments were very budget in quality but not in price.

Review 115:The location was good. The children enjoyed the pool.

Review 116:Building was in need of refurbishment and decoration. Pool is poor with the floor liner having lifted significantly across the length and breadth of it.

Review 117:Location was next to the le touquet racecourse and close to the town centre.

Review 118:Accomodation is small and cramped and in need of updating. It was a shock to find out that basic requirements cost extra e.g.Towels

Review 119:Good location with easy access to Le Touquet and beaches.

Review 120:Been there about 6 times but disappointed last trip as facilities not as good as before and we were not informed which incurred extra charges e.g no towels, cleaning liquid n dishwasher tablet.

Review 121:It has a pool and good location.

Review 122:No British channels on the tv when there must be a significant number ofBrits staying at the resort.

Review 123:General location is good and provides a good walk into town. The staffwere very helpful and pleasant. The resort is dog friendly and weliked the pool.

Review 124:The receptionist was so rude. She didnt do anything to help. She shoutedat customers, we were at the lobby and heard it and the staff didnt wantto help at all. Terrible staff. I can not reccoment to anyone. I willnever stay there again.

Review 125:Nothing.

Review 126:Very friendly on reception when we arrived they phoned a local restaurant to book a table on our behalf and arranged a taxi while checking in. Good parking.

Review 127:The communal areas of the hotel look a little tired and it can be quite noisy when busy, as there isn't much sound-proofing between the rooms.

Review 128:The hotel was conveniently located for the beach and town and Le Touquet is a lovely place to visit. The room was very clean and warm - it was very cold during our visit and the kitchen was well equipped and supplied with a handy welcome pack of cleaning cloths, detergents and dishwasher tablets.

Review 129:One night the people next door seemed to be having a party which kept usawake despite us asking them to be quiet. We complained to thereceptionist in the morning who said she would have a word with them, the next night they were clearly partying but much much more quietly.

Review 130:We enjoyed our stay, Les Jardins de la Cote d'Opale provided us with aclean, comfortable, affordable base for our visit. The childrenthoroughly enjoyed the indoor swimming pool, we liked the location andthe area of Le Touquet. The kitchen area was basic but provided all thatwe needed to make simple meals. I also liked the welcome pack of basiccleaning materials in the kitchen.

Review 131:The receptionist was extremely rude patronising and unhelpful. Refusedto call us a taxi one evening when we were going out for dinner. So wedrove into town as we had no way of calling a taxi as we didnt have amobile. The next day it was raining and again point blank said no andwalked off into her office. Her attitude was appalling why is shedoing a job which involves face to face customer service yet refusesto help anyone.

Review 132:The hotel is 10 mins outside of town by car and sits in the woods ariver flows behind the hotel so you can hire a bicycle and rideinto town.

Review 133:carpets in the apartment were dirty and smelled of dog, this attracted flies etc. ohrtwise it was a very nice place. they really need to sort the carpets out, not hygenic for young children plus very unpleasent smells

Review 134:The room we stayed in (25) had a very strong smell of drains. We complained 3 times but the problem was never fixed. The resort finally gave us a can of air freshener which only masked the smell for a short while. What should be done is to dig up the drains and start again.

Review 135:I liked the location quite near the beach and town. Pool sun beds were plentiful.

Review 136:the carpets were very badly stainedd, also strong smell of dogs. we haved stayed at cote dOpale many times since 2001 and remember when animal's were not allowed. We also stayed just after refurbishment 2005 the apartment's were beautifull. We feel that since allowing animal's the apartment's are not so nice. We would still recommend the cote dOpale but standard's have definately fallen.

Review 137:we loved the size of the apartment and facilities included, really surprised to find kettle and teapot these are not usually included in apartments in france. We found the staff very friendly and helpfull.
