Reviews for Hôtel Le Provence

Review 1:The bed sagged a little but I could have paid more for a better room. Overall it was value for money.

Review 2:Agen is looking a bit tired these days and the same could be said for the Hotel Le Provence on the outside but inside the place is wonderfully 70s Chic. The owners were welcoming, parking provided at a reasonable price and the breakfast filling. I left my hat in the room and the owners sent it on by post, excellent service. It is two minutes from Agen centre.

Review 3:Behind a slightly unpromising exterior on a busy road was a peaceful, small hotel with some stylish features. Our room was spacious with a very large and comfortable bed and pillows, some stylish furniture and fittings and excellent soundproofing so there was no traffic noise. The breakfast bar had recently been refurbished in an attractive 1920s/30s style. The staff were extremely very helpful and friendly. Top marks.

Review 4:Old but well kept hotel. In walking distance to shops and restaurants. We were travelling by bike and were able to lock them in a garage over night. Very kind hosts!

Review 5:AC needed a little help, that being said Agen was experiencing record high temps during our stay.

Review 6:The staff and owner were very helpful. Prepared an excellent continental breakfast for our party of 8 guests. The owner and his staff which were mostly family all spoke English. Owner helped with a location for our rental car.

Review 7:Tea making facilities in room advertised but were not provided

Review 8:Location, secure parking, hosts very keen to give advice and information. Utterly spotless, oh so clean.

Review 9:Followed the google directions which went nowhere near the hotel. Only 2 parking spaces and public parking directly outside but was very busy when we arrived (Sat afternoon). No shower curtain on bath. Breakfast disappointing.

Review 10:Friendly welcome, old hotel but in good order, clean, has a lift, good location, good restaurants nearby. Nice buzzy city.

Review 11:The couple that ran the hotel were very helpful with all our enquires. The owner even drove us down to Locaboat with all our luggage at no cost. We did ask to get a taxi but he insisted on taking us. Although it was not far we really appreciated the trip.

Review 12:As ever - it would be nice if french hotels had tea/coffee making facilities in rooms. This is not a criticism of this hotel but french hotels in general

Review 13:Good location, on busy road but we were able to park easily. Short walk to reataurants, shops in centre of town. Some nice pedestrian streets with interesting shops. We were there during prune festival. Hotel was good, a bit dated but fine for stop over.

Review 14:The city was very busy and we had to concentrate whilst looking for the hotel. We could not park outside as spaces had all gone (public parking) but owner found a space just around the corner for overnight parking.

Review 15:The hotel was in the middle of a very busy town but inside it was quiet and very well run. The owners were very helpful, spoke good English, and gave us directions of places to see of interest. Breakfast was very good, with a variety of items and plenty of them. We walked around the edge of the city along the canal which was quite good.

Review 16:Without doubt the owners of this hotel were the most helpful that I have ever met. They took an interest in every aspect of our stay and did their best to ensure we enjoyed our visit to Agen. I would certainly recommend it. The accommodation and breakfast were also very good.

Review 17:It is getting a bit tired, need to get rid of the carpet and upgrade it but for 75E close to town it was good enough

Review 18:it was in a good location close to town as long as you had a room not on the road. The hosts were very helpful and nice.

Review 19:Precarious access to bath/shower -frankly dangerous. No kettle as offered on confirmation. No wake up call available.

Review 20:Mine host, who was really pleasant and thoughtful. Cleanliness. 10 minute walk to station. Comfortable bed.

Review 21:Nothing

Review 22:Very friendly and helpful proprietor, and a very comfortable hotel. Breakfast was very good, and the WiFi reliable. They provided free secure parking for our bicycles in their garage. Our room overlooked the back and was quiet. Only a short walk into the centre of Agen, a surprisingly attractive city. Recommended!

Review 23:We were disappointed in the town of Agen. It's dingy and had a lot of homeless people. We had the worst meal of our trip at a little restaurant, one of a couple open, that claimed to be Corsica. Glad we only stayed one night on our way to Carcassonne.

Review 24:The staff were very nice and we felt safe and comfortable in the hotel. Street parking, good coffee at breakfast at a good price.

Review 25:The booking.com information said there was a kettle and there wasn't.

Review 26:The couple who ran operations! Apparently effortless service. Positioned well for train station and car rental Great coffee at breakfast

Review 30:the owners are very much a hands on couple,in fact the only visible staff on site. ..we can only be very complimentary, they were great, engaging, interested in what we were doing ,and offered very good recommendations about town,in fact went above and beyond expectation,in delivering us and bags to the canal boat, and the supermarket..we wish them well and all who stay with them

Review 50:Breakfast

Review 52:Staff were particularly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was better than the average French continental breakfast with more to choose from. The decor was very appropriate to the French Provincial Town of Agen.
