Reviews for La Manga Club Hotel Príncipe Felipe
Review 1:From the moment we checked in we felt very much at home in this hotel. Those on reception, housekeeping, in the restaurant and in the bar were friendly, amenable and always helpful. The hotel is stunning and the room was outstanding.
Review 2:We visited during Christmas week - were not advised of the arrangements in the Dining Room during this time. We constantly had to ask for tea bags & milk for the room.
Review 3:The Piano Bar is advertised within the hotel as being open from 18.30 until 2.30 with live music. We visited this bar on Sunday 20th December, Monday 21 December and Tuesday 22nd December at 20.00. until 22.30, but no live music. Very disappointing. The lighting in the room, and Piano Bar is very poor, sometimes dangerous, as at the steps in the Piano Bar
Review 4:All staff have been trained to a high standard and dealt with questions very efficiently. The food in the Amapola Restaurant is very good. The courtesy bus is a good feature.
Review 5:Prices in general were maybe justified in 2005 when we had been there the first time. In the meantime seems that money is missing resp. hasn't been reinvested in the overall infrastructure. Old carpets in the hotel hallways and hotel rooms - besides car paths on the golf course, streets and green spaces in the resort could as well need some refurbishing.
Review 6:Basically a great resort with all facility in place like fine golf courses, fitness, spa, various restaurants, super market etc.
Review 7:breakfast was disgusting arrived twice freezing cold in the end refused breakfast because after two tries we had had enough and was still charged after telling staff spoild stay think we will not return
Review 8:good location and good faciles
Review 9:The room was lovely, and the bed was so comfortable, the room was warm, we stayed overnight for early flight from alicante, staff very efficient , no problem at all
Review 10:none
Review 11:Great location, extremely friendly and helpful staff in all respects. Excellent facilities especially the gym and spa. The hotel restuarant serves great food with an impeccable service
Review 12:My niece got hit by a golf ball while sunbathing at the pool side ! Has had to attend hospital and a week later still suffering from swelling to her head ! Think you need to review safety to your guests around the golf course
Review 13:Some of the carpets in the walkway to my room look old and need replacing especially on the ramp! They let down the quality of the rest of the hotel
Review 14:Dining facilities. Reception. Location
Review 15:The tranquillity, lovely room, staff. Our previous accommodation in a quiet resort nearby was not to our liking,so were delighted to get a good deal with you at this lovely place. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed lovely food in two of the several restaurants, also an excellent massage. Efficient taxi service, free, whisked folk around the spacious grounds. Thanks, on a 3 week tour it was a very good stop.
Review 16:Interior badly needs upgrading - carpets are old and 'rucked' in many places, which I see as poor for a 5* hotel and a health and safety issue. Dining room not big enough for the number of guests - had to wait to be seated on 3 mornings.
Review 17:Beautiful location Lovely pool
Review 18:Breakfast was OK but not as good in quality and variety as buffet breakfasts I have had in some other hotels of a similar standard. They also struggled with enough seating for the numbers of people having breakfast at the same time.
Review 19:Great location at the heart of La Manga Club. Very nice swimming pool.
Review 20:We weren't too keen on the first restaurant we booked (can't remember the name) but we ended up in La Cala which was phenomenal!
Review 21:The staff knew it was our birthday and gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne - nice touch! The on-site transport driver pulled out all the stops when we went to the first restaurant choice which we didn't like. He got us into La Cala and took us there! Fab service!
Review 22:The staff in the breakfast restaurant were slow and not particularly friendly. However the food was very good.
Review 23:Good size rooms great facilities good size swimming pool
Review 24:The staff in all of the dining facilities were particularly unfriendly, particularly at breakfast. Trying to get anyone's attention to place an order, pay or even get cutlery for our meal was comical to say the least.
Review 25:Stayed in this hotel with a group for a tennis holiday. The hotel had great facilities, was close to the courts and my room was large and comfortable and cleaned to perfection everyday.
Review 26:The free wi-fi in our room was virtually non-existent, and when we paid 60 Euros to upgrade for 7 days to the better wi-fi it was still either extremely slow or non-existent. This was a problem for my partner, who needed to work whilst we were there. However, when I raised this deficiency with the staff at check-out they acknowledged the difficulties and agreed to remove the 60 Euros from our bill. I was very satisfied with the way that they dealt with the issue. The wi-fi service is in the hands of an external provider and so the hotel did not seem to be able to rectify the wi-fi problems themselves.
Review 27:The staff were friendly and highly professional. The location is stunning, and the facilities are very good.
Review 28:The Hotel is tired, in need of renovation in the public and private areas, not 5 star Staff working hard and trying to cover the deficiencies in Capital Expediture.
Review 29:Central Position for our purpose. Know the hotel well over serveral years.
Review 30:Didn't love the cooked preference, but that is more my personal choice I can be quite fussy and it was a good quality I am just used to English sausages etc!
Review 31:The hotel was beautiful, very luxurious. Good was fantastic and beds so comfy!
Review 32:Tea making facilities but no milk called down for some. They said shouldbe a carton in the fridge . Which there wasn'T. I only needed thetiny pots ..they sent room service to my room with a carton of milkwhich I had to pay for !! Surely if they provide tea and coffee theyshould also provide some milk !! Also my room safe wasn't working.was ready to go out for the evening but had to wait for a tecnition tofix it as I couldn't leave valuables in the room !!
Review 33:I got stuck in the lift . Soon got over it
Review 34:We had a great time every one friendly ,&helpful even the pool attendant .&the free bus was excellent .
Review 35:Staff are polite but don't really offer 5 star service. Slow service in hotel restaurant and pool restaurant.
Review 36:Spacious lovely rooms, very good breakfast selection, great views.
Review 37:Carpets through out are well worn Paint work is looking dull and lots of cracks appearing in hallways etc. In bad need of some TLC! Seats in Piano bar are thread bear in places!
Review 38:Golf food facilities pool Staff very friendly
Review 39:No Bad Experience but would like to point out that at Breakfast there was only 1 Toaster so think it would be worth investing in a couple more!
Review 40:My Hotel Room
Review 41:The state of the carpets left a lot to be desired! (Definitely in need of updating!) My door key didn't work a couple of times, which was frustrating. Piano Bar was sadly lacking in customers. (Might need a re-think of how to attract more people into it). The pool bar is missing out on evening trade, as it is a very popular venue.
Review 42:Beautiful entrance, and very friendly staff. Lovely bedroom. (Very comfortable bed!) Delicious breakfasts! Well serviced pool, friendly attendants, and plenty of sun loungers.
Review 43:Due to dining room being very busy we experienced a great deal of delay being served are dinner. We noticed people being served before us although they had arrived later, but the meal was good when it eventually arrived..
Review 44:Carpet in hallway to room was a bit uneven in places and could pose a hazard! Bathrooms a little bit dated!
Review 45:Booked for my special birthday, staff were very attentive and added little extras to the experience. Lovely meal in the restaurant. Would recommend and stay again.
Review 46:Main gripe was poor quality of breakfast after 10am - no sausages, mushrooms, 1 toaster for the restaurant, 1 chef who had too many jobs at breakfast. No-one responsible to refill plates, glasses. Not a good start to the day - not 5 star !!!
Review 47:Beautiful surroundings , comfy bed , great location, stunning golf courses
Review 48:Chaotic in breakfast although food was nice. Very disorganised long queues. No glasses. Warm glasses. Empty buffet sections. Decoration in rooms and lobby wonderful but corridors very run down, a stark contrast. No ice creams available at pool area for two days.
Review 49:Room and pool area. Reception staff. The lady chef that made eggs was very good. Weather and viewz
Review 50:Breakfast was a real disappointment we had to queue for a long time and then on one day we were told that there was no room for us to have breakfast and we would need to go to a second room which had limited breakfast items and no glasses or plates even our teapot had no lid suggesting they cannot cope when the hotel is heavily occupied it wa such a let down.
Review 51:Facilities
Review 52:Price too high for a family Too long waiting for breakfast. Not acceptable for such a high standard. Hotel team unable to manage politely this uncomfortable situation for clients.
Review 53:Comfort Quality Service in general was perfect! Pool Restaurants Kids club very nice
Review 54:Having experienced a "situation" I would like to express how impressed we were with Mercedes, the assistant reception manageress and how she handled the issue and how professional she was. She immediately sorted us a room change and an upgrade, excellently handled!
Review 55:Full of English people, waiting for resort bus (very poor service)
Review 56:Excellent breakfast, large room, close enough to Cartaghena for day trip, variety of restaurants in walking distance
Review 57:You really need to do something about the abundant flies! Especially round the pool bar and restaurant. Housekeeping staff need to replace things like face flannels, glasses etc when they are removed from the room. Bus service round the resort is a bit hit and miss.
Review 58:lovely location, scenery, building, staff round pool.
Review 59:Queues for breakfast. Breakfast table allocation staff attitude if you were late for breakfast.
Review 60:Excellent Facilities. Choice of restaurants. Staff In general.
Review 61:When we first arrived there was no concierge to carry our bags to reception, we had to carry ourselves. Not five star. For a five star hotel we were appalled at the lack of priority for sunbeds around the pool for hotel guests. We were paying a premium to stay at the hotel, yet anyone could come down and use the pool. Other hotel owned properties can come and use the pool and this meant the facilities were overstretched. Paying money like this to have a battle to get a sunbed is frankly shocking. The shuttle service also caused us an issue as it advertises to take you 'anywhere' in the resort. However, when raising with guest relations this only applies to hotel owned locations in the resort. We also were unable to secure a late checkout room, so had to use the pool room showers which were boiling hot, not the end to a five star experience in my opinion.
Review 62:Wifi was next to useless in the room Every morning before 0900 the maid would try to clean the room Pool side bar closed to early so there was nowhere outside to get a drink Unless you wanted dinner Trying to get coffee in the lobby, because that was the only place wifi worked properly was difficult at best
Review 63:Good hotel with friendly, helpful and polite staff.
Review 64:A (too) great tolerance with the large number of parents and their far too loud children not being educated in basics of good manners and etiquette. Being in the breakfast room and at the pool it was impossible to enjoy or relax like in a 5-star-hotel due to uneducated behaviour of children neglected by their parents. Breakfast for families with children should be served in a separate room. Proposal: Offer in the hotel etiquette-trainings for children executed by a real English butler.
Review 65:One sink in bathroom could not use, water wouldn't drain away.hotel informed nothing resolved. Asked for ice buckets to be filled for friends visit to our room, not done in time.
Review 66:Alex the waiter was charming and helpful.
Review 67:our room was not ready by 2pm their explanation was previous clients did not leave until 1pm.not my problem get more staff to ensure all rooms available for 2pm.totally unacceptable.hotel was also overbooked and they were off loading clients to another location
Review 68:Expensive WiFi, hassel from cleaners to leave room on last day from 8.30am, decor getting tired now, Brits abroad-great if you want to be in Spain but in an English community. We travel a lot in more traditional spain and much prefer other locations so not for us. 5 Star?
Review 69:Good air con, pool and bedding.
Review 70:The WiFi was unstable
Review 71:Beautiful hotel and surrondings. Breakfast was great. We visited restaurant La Cala and was treated top. The Spa was great and the drittlei bus superb.
Review 72:The location and all the aminaties are just fantastic , the staff are more than helpful very polite , The hotel and surrounding area is spotless very well maitained , we had dinner at many of the on site restaurants again food was stunning .
Review 73:Free wifi - Internet connection. Has to be the worst I have encountered in Spain. I never did get connected and ended using bars away from the hotel with free wifi to conduct me business, this was really not what you expect from a 5 star hotel. No milk in room to accompany tea, coffee facility. This was also not what one should expect. Service at breakfast was extremely slow. So called hot breakfast bar, food cold.
Review 74:Wonderful hotel, light airy.
Review 75:A rioting room party by some young that the management failed to quieten down till I went out and had a tantrum at 03.30
Review 76:The hotel staff and service were great
Review 77:Uncle Sam's restaurant billed as a genuine American restaurant was very poor and would not recommend this.
Review 78:Hotel was great and the food in the hotel restaurant was superb. Opted for 7 night evening meal voucher which can be used in most restaurants. Great facility of shuttle bus which meant car not necessary.
Review 79:Haphazard housekeeping, no record of mini bar use in fact we thought it was free to use. More umbrellas required on the terrace at breakfast. Maybe, better seating/umbrella on the terrace of your room. Piano bar is dull and dark very uninviting and the entertainment too late I the evening.
Review 80:Poolside restaurant, breakfast overlooking the golf course. Our room was superb again overlooking the golf course with a beautiful terrace. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Review 81:The complex was fantastic The evening entertainment was fantastic as well a good night in the piano lounge Would definitely visit again in the future
Review 82:Poolside food is very poor and the service is not 5 star. The bedroom corridors have scuffed paint and the carpets are in bits! They need to spend some money on the place. The gym at Las Lomas is good but it's inconvenient to have to get a shuttle bus from the hotel to get there.
Review 83:Lovely location overlooking the golf course. Very nice pool with friendly staff.
Review 84:There is a problem with the hallway carpeting having numerous lumps in it that is distracting and people could trip over it. It shows poor workmanship, we were surprised about its condition., which is a blight on an otherwise nicely appointed hotel.
Review 85:The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
Review 86:Very relaxing break even if you are not sporty, you can walk around the site. The hotel has a mini bus which takes you to all the on site restaurants so you can leave the car behind.
Review 87:The pool was quite cold during our stay. Though it still may be to early in the season for the pool heating to be on
Review 88:Breakfast buffet was amazing ! Cleaners did a thorough job each morning & the staff were very friendly & helpful
Review 89:Event on at hotel and service to guests reduced slightly. No pool available and told to go to Las Lomas pool, but when up there it was closed. Wifi can be a little slow - could be improved on
Review 90:Regular visitor - comfortable, relaxing holiday. Great restaurants, hotel, staff etc.
Review 91:Resort is fairly quiet at this time of year so the bars and restaurants outside the hotel lacked atmosphere.
Review 92:Breakfast, friendliness of staff, tennis facilities, pool.
Review 93:Piano bar is dark and uninspiring. The piano bar many years ago was the heart of the hotel with a pianist called Brian who played songs on request and created a great atmosphere. As there are no other piano bars on the resort it would be a great meeting point after a meal in the restaurant.
Review 94:Pool area is lovely, nice large room with balcony overlooking the golf course (quiet), gardens are wonderful. Reception staff are very helpful.
Review 95:Would like to have spent an evening in the Piano Bar but the entertainment starts at 11.30 which is too late or us.
Review 96:Facilities on resort are excellent, particularly golf, tennis and bowls.
Review 97:Corridor to bedroom (lower floor) "tired" wallpaper peeling on disabled access Fuse box in room made constant buzzing sound on first night; maintenance man wedged paper between switches which reduced the sound but didn't eliminate it. Promised to fix it next day but didn't Reported it on departure again
Review 98:Super bedroom Fantastic food - Lougi's
Review 99:A bit worn, some staff did not communicate well in English, boring restaurants, a lot of checking in the minibar - several times a day - very annoying
Review 100:Breakfast, comfort of bed, balcony, surroundings
Review 101:Did not like to have to book the restaurant in the hotel where we were guests, especially the night of our arrival and being unaware this was necessary.
Review 102:The free golf lesson on the Monday.
Review 103:A meal at La Finca restaurant, not run by the Hotel, was disappointing though it was very busy and this could have been the reason.
Review 104:An excellent hotel which complements a first class sports resort. The region of Murcia has much of interest including the unique Mar Menor, easily reached from LMC.
Review 105:Some of the carpets are threadbare with ridges in the corridors - need replacing. Wifi very slow and at times very difficult to access internet due to overloaded network. Need more eating options around 5pm for little ones
Review 106:Booked a family room which was two full size interconnecting rooms so loads of space. Hotel left an Easter gift for our young son which was a nice touch. Friendly helpful staff and breakfast was fantastic.
Review 107:Had to wait for 20 minutes both morning for a table at breakfast. The free shuttle service only takes you to places owned by the hotel and as the complex is large it meant we were restricted to a tiny part of the resort. Don't be fooled into some of the offers free use of gym and spa is actually just the gym, we hoped to use the jacuzzi and sauna but were told that was not part of the offer. For the money we spent on this hotel it had too many problems for us to ever return
Review 108:Excellent location and good facilities.
Review 109:Dreadfull organization at breakfast far to many people for the dining room capacity as many as twenty people waiting for seating and visually stressed staff, that's bad managment.
Review 110:Professional staff excellent but pricy food, good value cocktails in the piano bar
Review 111:The tennis club closes at 6 p.m. that is not convenient for a guest on business trip. One only Italian TV channel
Review 112:Great facilities, beautiful ambient, very good breakfast, very kind and helpful staff, very clean room, comfortable shower and bed
Review 113:The carpets look like they could do with renewing. Not always enough staff on duty. (Particularly when trying to get food). The Piano Bar/Lounge. Also, times seemed to change as to when they were open.
Review 114:The location is perfect. The hotel is very clean, comfortable, and has a very welcoming feel about it.
Review 115:The carpets looked a bit thread worn. Also, too many interruptions from the cleaning staff, (too early in the morning), and also checking the mini bar.
Review 116:As soon as you enter the hotel, a feeling of calm takes over. It is truly an amazing hotel! Staff friendly, and efficient. The hotel feels very luxurious, and is in a great location.
Review 117:On the negatives Booked room for 2 adults, one child up to 12yrs and a baby cot, offered a twin room with two single beds. Had to pay extra to be upgraded Swimming pool and gym requires bus/car Far from the sea
Review 118:On the positives: Staff friendliness and service Quiet and prestigious location Comfort of beds and pillows
Review 119:Wi fi in hotel is NOT free ! Dinner prices a little high
Review 120:Relaxed atmosphere staff made you feel welcome. A very comfortable nights sleep excellent facilities.
Review 121:The position of the fixed shower head in relation to the shower screen meant it was impossible to take a shower without 'flooding' the bathroom floor. The double bed was actually 2 singles pushed together- not what you expect in a 5 star hotel.
Review 122:The 'in house' restaurant - food excellent, waiting staff very attentive and friendly. The location was good - nice outlook from our room balcony.
Review 123:Twin Room basic and old could do with a revamp.fan in bathroom brokeninformed staff on night we arrived but not repaired. But it was thebreakfast and what went on in the dining room which was most surprisingfor a so called 5 star hotel.the food choices were limited, the staffbehind the breakfast counter appeared as if they did not want to bethere.I Noted this on our 1st morning they kept dissappearing out to aback room even though many were waiting for boiled eggs and omlettes!!onthe 28th of oct.while we were waitn for eggs a frying pan went on firestaff again in the back room I alerted jose lopez and Ana who wereattending tables and the fire was extinguished.from a health and safetyperspective not good.
Review 124:Staff at reception and pool reception very friendly and professional
Review 125:It's not possível to put the address in the GPS and the beaches and the SPA are far from the hotel.
Review 126:The hotel is located in a very beautiful place.
Review 127:The wi fi was inconsistent on connection and the food was quite expensive.
Review 128:The hotel location within La Manga club is excellent, great pool and food. Spacious rooms with nice balconies with overviews of the golf courses.
Review 129:A minor point, but I would have liked an iron and ironing board in the room.
Review 130:The rooms are clean, well equipped and spacious. The buffet breakfast offered a great choice. The pool area is a lovely place to relax.
Review 131:Rooms in need of refurbishment in near future.
Review 132:Comfortable friendly hotel.Piano bar snacks and drinks very good.Plenty of car parking.Pool good but very busy
Review 133:- When we arrived rom wasn't what we booked. Twin instead of double with extra bed for my son. Went back to reception and were placed in a double room near the pool then housekeeping moved in with the extra bed. At 10pm with a tired 8 year old, it was a shame to arrive and this not be ready. - Beds are hard - a plank might be more comfy! An option may be to line it with the pillows! - I think there should be some free water in the room rather than paying 3.30 euros for a small bottle (it's 25 cents for 1.5 litres in the supermarket) - Many have mentioned the piano bar without view, yes it's a shame there's not an outside/terrace bar or leave the pool one open - The beach at La Cala is small and pretty stoney. We lasted an hour. - Other part of resort (Las Lomas) looks tired - Walk to Las Lomas Village would be better taken with a scythe to hack some of the overgrowing plants out of the way! - This is not real Spain. It's seems to be a protected little centre/community so don't go expecting culture.
Review 134:- Relaxed - Staff are helpful and friendly - Breakfast plentiful and varied - Free People Carriers available on request to get you around the resort - The hotel is not oversized/overrun with people - Pool beds at the Hotel are great - wicker and big mattresses - Mojito on tap :o) - Pillows are soft - UndertheSun restaurant was worth checking out - Did I mention Mojito on tap? If you're looking for a short break where it's friendly, safe, warm weather, you'll get what you want here
Review 135:We arrived on an early flight (landed at 9.30am). Despite booking.com listing special request that we were to arrive between 11-12, our room was not ready until 2pm. I just hoped our room would fave been ready then but I suppose it was peak time .
Review 136:The hotel is beautiful. We had a standard room but it still felt luxurious. The location of the hotel is great for golf, and the main bars and restaurants (walking distance) x x
The Fine Print
Please note that drinks are not included in half-board rates and meals are a la carte, not buffet.
