Reviews for Hotel Cavanna
Review 1:A little manic in restaurant at meal times, everything buffet but for us not a problem, good food, a wide selection, we went half board and a bit disappointed to pay for water at meal times. Friendly staff but little English spoken, again for us not a problem as we live in Spain but for English tourists !!
Review 2:The pool and grounds of hotel were lovely good location right on mar menor beach and on the other side of the road the med beach. Good facilities and shops within the hotel. Entertainment was good , ideal for families, but do not expect anything English. The view from balcony..spectacular. We loved it.
Review 3:Hotel seems to not being renovated since a long time. The building is big (14 floors, houndreds of rooms) and has only 3 small elevators so it happens that you must wait even 10 minutes or more for the lift (but views from upper floors are nice btw)
Review 4:Hotel very well located just at the beach with nice garden and big swimming pool.
Review 5:Although I've put a note during the reservation and requested a room with Mar Menor view they gave us a room from fourteenth floor and back side. Such this highness you cannot use your balcony because of wind. Then they changed it with a room at 8th floor however it was on the back side again instead of Mar Menor. All staffs at reception were rude and don't give sufficient information regarding wifi, sunbeds or parking. Because of this reason I've visited the reception for four times. Wifi was weak, breakfast was poor and the sea was dirty, shallow and warm. Only children can enjoy.
Review 6:When booking, you had a box for requests, in which I said 'floor 3 to 6 facing Mar Menor'; I got floor 11 facing the vents! My view was virtually non-existent
Review 7:Convenience, facilities and service were fine
Review 8:The breakfest is the same every morning, 3 lifts was busy in busy hours, but it is another 2 secret lifts, Can be free wifi in the reception area, and then they can charge for it elsewhere
Review 9:Location is perfect, hotel is on the inner sea, and 150m away from meridian sea, the view was excelent from 14th floor , sunsets... Free bottle wine at lunch and dinner time, helpfull staff, free parking on public car parks
Review 12:Decor in room was dated and could do with a makeover but it was very clean.
Review 13:Ani in the restaurant could not have been more helpful and really made our stay very enjoyable.
Review 14:The average age of our fellow patrons was about 65/70 so we were among the youngest there, however the entertainment was clearly aimed at the majority with social dancing and dominoes. mmmm.... Breakfast was a rugby scrum and utter chaos - we ended up choosing to go elsewhere, despite having paid for bed and breakfast.
Review 15:Staff were very friendly and helpful. They arranged Prosecco and birthday cake for our arrival as the break was a birthday treat! Location was good and view from the balcony was lovely over the Mar Menor.
Review 16:Breakfast was a chaotic nightmare as the restaurant was very poorly organised. It offered mainly unhealthy choices; eg cakes, sausages and processed cheese. The queues at the coffee machine were very long throughout the breakfast period. There were three lifts for 14 floors and many people resulting in very lengthy waits and journeys, stopping at each floor.
Review 17:The hotel is located next to one beach on the Mar Menor side and a very short walk from the sea side. The sea was beautifully clear and the beach nice and clean.
Review 18:Everything!!!! Enough said.
Review 19:I can find nothing positive to say about the hotel. We had originally booked for four nights but stayed only for one. Listed as a four star!!! In our opinion it would have been lucky to make a two star. Dreadful.
Review 20:shortage of staff.restaurant more like a canteen, poor selection of food.no drinks service in the evening entertainments lounge everyone sat in rows on plastic chairs. We stayed at this hotel 5years ago and it was much better then.
Review 21:good pool.access to beach and general cleanliness.
Review 22:No one and I mean no one spoke a word of English so was very hard to communicate with anyone at the hotel, limited selection of food and couldn't ask what things were as wouldne be under stood. Rooms need updating more like 2-3 star very basic for a 4 star hotel
Review 23:Location was amazing! Swiming pool was lovely nice and clean, rooms were cleaned daily
Review 24:The food was simply appalling and this alone would stop me recommending it even given all the plus points mentioned previously. It's a real pity as if they just proved the quality in this area it would be a super place to stay.
Review 25:The stay at hotel cabana was very pleasant for my husband and two kids, the hotel was so clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. We do not speak Spanish but my eldest daughter (6 yo) still had great fun in the kids club and was always made feel a part of the activities.
Review 26:Hotel is dated. Think 1970s. The food was very poor though the Spanish seemed to love it. Don't bother with full board unless you're happy to eat chips and bread every day. The local restaurants are no great shakes either though. Wifi only available in reception.
Review 27:Hotel Cavanna is dated looking but extremely clean. Rooms are cleaned daily and fresh towels provided. Staff were friendly and helpful and though this is mostly a getaway hotel for Spanish people, there was always an english speaking member of staff at reception. Location is good and there is a private beach.
Review 28:The Wi-Fi didn't reach my room .. 714
Review 29:Old fashioned. Needs an upgrade
Review 30:Location; very good double bed
Review 31:Location
Review 32:Old, not 4 star.
Review 33:Near the beach
Review 34:Location perfect. Ideal for family with young child.
Review 35:Great location if you like the beach. Lovely pool. Predominantly spanish. Rooms very tired and food ok. Certainly not 4 star in my opinion.
Review 36:Excellent value for money. Food quality and variety very good.
Review 37:Bad beds, bad food, no English tv except news,no water in pool
Review 38:Nothing to shout about
Review 39:food. even for morning coffee has to go outside
Review 40:location,
Review 41:staff are great, welcoming and friendly....staying more than once says it all.
Review 42:Never ate breakfast, to much like a cattle market, sorry.
Review 43:room service excellent. view beautifull
Review 44:Food not very good, entertainment abysmal
Review 45:Excellent pool area
Review 46:No parking, rooms not quiet, old and worn bed and bathroom
Review 47:Room decor outdated, room facilities not up to standard compared to other 4 star hotels
Review 48:Bathroom was very very small. Food was not the best. Only bar open was like a snack bar, no comfortable seats and everything finished at 10.30pm! Only entertainment was line dancing, no cabaret.
Review 49:the location was good.
Review 50:The hotel was full of retired people during our stay in May. All the hotel programs were made for them. La Manga was quite empty, many bars were closed as there were few people.
Review 51:There are two options to swim: the inner sea (Mar Menor) and the Balearic Sea. You can visit nice landscapes near Cabo de Palos (Cala Reona, Calblanque) and Murcia and Cartagena are relatively close.
Review 52:I know it was pensionista week but the food choice was very limited and even though we got in every evening at 8pm, it was always cold and so had to put it in the microwave. Also, the entertainment was typically Spanish.
Review 53:Hotel was clean, staff friendly and helpful. Having a separate bar area for games and sport on tv was very welcome.
Review 54:Decor was poor, breakfast was very poor, no room service at all don't think we will be going back there again although it wasn't that bad just not good enough in any way for me to ever go back.
Review 55:Location was good
Review 56:The only bad experience was with the free internet. Most of the time we could not get a connection.
Review 57:We loved the position of the hotel even a fantastic view out of the loo window. We enjoyed the meals and the free wine and water. We also enjoyed the dancing at night. We will certainly go back.
Review 58:La Manga is an ideal location between the Mer Menor and the Med but is over developed. We visited in low season and the hotel was full of Spanish pensioners enjoying a bit of sun but the area was very quiet.
Review 59:The full board was excellent with a taste of real spanish food but also international cuisine.
Review 60:The bar is disappointing and charmless. They had closed the BarBritannia which is a much nicer and more stylish place. Other guestsvery rude and pushy at the buffet which was quite cheap ingredients andlow amount of choice for a Spanish hotel buffet.
Review 61:The Mar Menor is a lovely location. You have water on both sides of you.Free white and red wine with dinner was a nice touch. Pool, pool bar andbeach area would be lovely in the summer when open.
Review 62:Cooked evening meal was ordinary/mediocre. Never saw any rice or boiled potatoes. Fries with everything. Overcooked meat and fish.
Review 63:Location. Views. Great Swimming Pool Wine with evening meal. Helpful Staff
Review 64:breakfast.Cholesterol part was ok but cant they buy some tomatoes 90 cent a kilo or other veggies
Review 65:perfect Place few meters from 2 beaches, nice view nice room good personal nice neigbourhood
Review 66:Slightly illogical layout of restaurant. As a stranger, walking through the dining area sometimes left you hunting for cutlery, teaspoons ,salt, butter etc.
Review 67:Stayed 3 Nights at end of September. Hotel fairly busy but not to capacity. Everything worked well and the food was good. Pleasant helpful staff, nice comfortable rooms with air-con, fridge and free Wifi. Will definitely Use this Hotel again and will recommend to anyone.
Review 68:The hotel was overbusy in the end of July. We got parking outside of the hotel. There were not enough tables at breakfast and lunch, too many hungry people in buffet, not enough cups, forks and so on. We never got sunbeds near the pool... Elevators are overbusy and old, we prefered warking by stairs. The hotel is not 4 stars, it's more or less ok for 3 stars.
Review 69:Location. Good value for money. Family friendly. Good lunch and dinner.
Review 70:The food was tepid, with little choice and poor quality. This is NOT what you would expect from a 4 star hotel by any means. The hotel was clean but needed refurbishing as there were broken tiles on the floor and rough edges on window surrounds and ceilings. This is a 3 star hotel trying to be a 4 star one.
Review 71:Location and views were excellent.
Review 72:Food was repeated a lot and what you would expect in buffet style in spain.Entertainment ok if you where on a spanish trip this hotel caters mainly for budget spanish bus trips. But they had a great time.
Review 73:Basic but suited are needs clean tidy staff good position good parking good views to die for.
Review 74:Very busy restaurant Not enough tables at peak times Buffet breakfastand dinner not too good Lunches quite nice
Review 75:Location views free wine and water at lunch and dinner
Review 76:Not upto four star rating. The hotel and rooms definitely need a complete overhaul. Tired, old fashioned looking furniture. Rooms overlooking carpark are very noisy until early hours of the morning due to the fact of the numerous bars.
Review 77:Proximity to beaches, restaurants and shops. Nice garden area around the pool.
Review 78:Lifts often busy
Review 79:Good room and good location
Review 80:Pool was closed but would be great in the summer season
Review 81:Location was great food was great and staff were great would defo go back

Review 91:Good location for the purpose of our trip.
