Reviews for Hôtel L'ideal le Mountbatten
Review 1:Small things, not enough tea bags and no milk pots and one more pillow would have been perfect.
Review 2:Extremely clean, very comfortable bed, crisp white linen and lovely clean soft towels.
Review 3:Very clean with new modern bathroom and very comfortable beds. Great location and parking and the couple who Ron the hotel are lovely and helpful. Great value.
Review 4:Could not find any fault with this hotel or location,
Review 5:The hotel was perfectly located for our visit to the DDay beaches and sites. Room was cleaned on a daily basis and hotel had all that we could want, including private parking. Staff we're very friendly, breakfast was very good and place very quiet at night.
Review 6:There is nothing to not like with this hotel.
Review 7:Very welcoming proprietors and staff, very clean and comfortable - good value for money - free parking and wifi. Walk into town to a choice of very good restaurants.
Review 8:No bad experience but there does not seem to be anyone on duty in the evening or at night. What does one do if there is a problem or emergency? . Also some rooms please reserved where no animals have been in - as traces are always left of pets - and this is difficult to manage when you have allergies and sensitivities to pet hairs etc.
Review 9:location and cleanliness of the room, Friendlieness of the person on duty during the day.
Review 10:No bad experience, breakfast expensive for what was included.
Review 11:The cleanliness of the bedroom and bathroom. Nice towels, toiletries, large wardrobe space and tea/coffee making facilities.
Review 12:Nothing, it was all really good.
Review 13:We had the Garden Suite and it was absolutely beautiful. The rooms are separate and really spacious and everything was absolutely spotless and the en-suite was a lovely size with a super shower. You could also sit outside on the table and loungers provided and look out at the pretty garden whilst having a cup of tea or coffee.
Review 14:Some communication difficulties due to my poor french and L'Ideals limited english
Review 15:Comfy clean and nice feel to the room. Good parking and easy to find. Arromanches is a lovely small town easy to get a meal. Easy distance to Bayeux.
Review 16:A small family run Motel In the Town centre close to all AD Day attractions and also restaurants. Room was larger than expected and clean with helpful staff.
Review 17:Loved the location, so close to the beach... Room was so stylish and well fitted. We loved the decor so much. We had the 2 bedroom family room, it was stunning, so much so we will be copying the bathroom design. Nice people, nice location, nice place..nothing else needed
Review 18:They were constantly have Internet connection issues so we had to pay with cash rather than our card.
Review 19:Great location and a large unit- we stayed in the family unit which had two twins and a queen in two separate rooms.
Review 20:Very clean and comfortable 2-bedroom suite with fridge and kettle and nice patio area with table/chairs and loungers. A few minutes walk to the sea and restaurants/shops. Onsite free parking. Perfect for a few days exploring the Normandy coast. Highly recommended.
Review 21:Breakfast was ok, hosts do not speak much English but are very helpful
Review 22:Room was fantastic, large, clean and with good facilities. Off road parking for motorcycles a big plus. Very short walk into town.
Review 23:Nothing really. The only thing is that the rooms at the ground level face the parking lot and it feels a bit awkward to sit outside in front of the cars.
Review 24:Really nice and clean room, modern furnishings, coffe/tea pot in the room, little fidge. Also, the location is very good - max 3 minutes to the beach.
Review 25:Location, sea view, clean, spacious family room...staff pleasant, good value and very comfortable. Recently refurbished. Close to the center but away from the noise.
Review 26:Staff was great and the room was large for the 4 of us! Great location for all of the D-Day sites and local restaurants were open late with good service. Free Parkin on site with large public parking lot across street you can use. Would definitely stay again!!
Review 27:The rooms were not very well sound proofed and you could hear the TV in the adjoining room.
Review 28:After camping for two nights the room was a lovely sight to see and was very clean and welcoming. The staff were extremely helpful and breakfast in the morning was a good way to start the day with cereals, cheeses, hams, breads croissants jams and hot drinks and juice etc Great location to visit the site close by.
Review 29:The location was perfect, close to shops, restaurants and the beach all within walking distance. Friendly staff, very helpful (we speak French so that helped). Great family room for family of 4 and a really good size. All clean and modern. I couldn't fault a thing.
Review 30:WiFi intermittent in the room farthest away from the lobby. Not a big deal.
Review 31:The room was beautiful and well stocked with all necessities. The quality tea was a nice touch. Staff were nice and spoke English. Great place to stay for the price.
Review 32:The hotel is fantastically located close to all the military sites which was great, and meant that we did not have to travel so far each day. The rooms at the hotel were just what we needed, nice hot showers, comfy bed and quiet. The breakfast was also superb, lots of options as-well as fresh. The beach front is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
Review 33:Nothing bad!
Review 34:Perfect location to base yourself when travelling around the region. Easy to find and get too. Room was a very good size and provided everything needed for the stay. Would Definatley recommend
Review 35:The only negative I could see was the small check in hours available. From 4 -7.30 pm only.
Review 36:Very clean and tidy. Plenty of space available in each room and every car had parking space available. It was everything I wanted. Its a bit like a block of drive in motels on 2 floors. The managers were very helpful. The male manager doesnt speak English but his wife does and she was very helpful and had a lovely smile too !! A great location 2 mins walk into Arromanches for the tourist locations and the restaurants.
Review 37:Breakfast, taken a little late, involved food that was not as good a quality as the rest of the experience.
Review 38:Location, quality of the rooms ( we opted for the suite) and what was pretty good value for the scale of the accommodation. There had been great difficulty in getting a booking for that night throughout the region without spending silly money. Fine dinner on the seafront in the Marine Hotel restaurant.
Review 39:I travelled with my grown up sons to experience Normandy. We took a family room with double bed and two singles, perfect for our needs. Excellent proximity to Arromanches centre and restaurants. Breakfast was also good + v good parking outside our room.
Review 40:The location in town was perfect, especially w/ free parking so we could easily walk to the WWII museum, beach, and restaurants. The room appeared to have been recently renovated w/ an excellent use of space and modern plumbing. We also enjoyed the view from our second floor room.
Review 41:great location geographically and historically to access the Normandy beaches. Excellent Normandy cuisine at reasonable price 100 yards away for a real french dining experience
Review 42:No electrical outlet in the bathroom, beds were quite firm.
Review 43:Great restaurants, short walk to the beach. Perfect location to stay while visiting the museums, memorials, cemeteries, and beaches.
Review 44:The owners are very involved with the comfort and welcome of their clients. The place was very comfortable, clean and spacious. Will love to go back !
Review 45:Breakfast wasn't great value but suited two guys who were on a tight schedule to visit the WW2 beaches
Review 46:Great location, room was spotless and a decent size.
Review 47:This hotel was perfect for us. There was free parking, a very clean room in a great ocation(about 3 blocks to the sea) a grocery store accross the street and a very comfortable room. We loved Arromanche and would stay at this hotel again.
Review 48:no hand wash basin in the toilet, you had to go through the bedroom to the shower room to wash your hands.
Review 49:Staff were very friendly and helpful,The room we had was the quadruple with 2 bedrooms all very comfortable and clean.
Review 50:Window opened directly onto balcony which accessed other rooms so you couldn't leave it opened any time without other guests being able to look directly into your room. Lovely breezes at night couldn't be taken advantage of and the small air-con ? vent was in the bathroom.
Review 51:Lovely place to stay and close to what we wanted to see.
Review 52:The location of the hotel is good as it is close to the centre of things and very well laid out with direct access from the rooms to the private car park. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.
Review 53:Nothing.
Review 54:Convenient location and parking. Friendly owners. Spacious room, we had a queen and a single. Beds are firm and comfortable. Slept like a baby for three nights. Highly recommend.
Review 55:This is really a motel, not a hotel. Room 8 is right by the outdoor stairs so everyone goes by your window to get to rooms 4-7. WIFI this far from the router was intermittent at best.
Review 56:Size of the room and quality of the bathroom. Though not on the water, it is not too far away. Nice location to access the Normandy beaches. Loved the size of the town.
Review 57:From parking our car outside the room, friendliness of the staff, and then to see the room. Well decorated, modern and very clean. Glasses and proper cups and saucers for the morning coffee topped it. The location was good for walking into town for evening meal. Breakfast very good.
Review 58:Our family was split into 2 rooms - and 4 beds- but we all slept badly because we were too hot and the sheets were clinging to us. This was in cool weather for August. The problem was that the mattresses were covered with a rubberised fabric.
Review 59:The owner and his wife were really friendly and helpful. The room was quiet and well appointed. The location was perfect- in a quiet street but 5 minutes walk from the beach and centre. And possibly most important for high season (when there is a great shortage of parking places in Arromanches) safe private parking right next to the rooms.
Review 60:Nothing really
Review 61:Accessibility of WW2 sites. 23 miles frrom Caen, 10 from Bayeux about 10 to the American Cemetery, 23 from Pegasus Bridge and 40 odd from St. Mere Eglise. Clean and quiet rooms, decent breakfast, off street parking
Review 62:I did not like that the toilet was in a separate room from the sink. You had to walk through the bedroom to the other bathroom to wash your hands.
Review 63:The suite had large bedrooms and a nice sized bathroom. The rooms were clean. Parking was easy. There were plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. The European style breakfast was decent.
Review 64:Breakfast represents very poor value for money at 10 euros/pp, thisis drawing a direct comparison to other superior hotels and guest houseswhere breakfast is included in a similar and cheaper room rate.Single bed was not comfortable and gave a poor night's sleep. Can't really comment on the staff as we didn't see that much of them. It isn't that bad a hotel/motel but is expensive for what is pretty basic accommodation.
Review 65:The location of the hotel is excellent, just a short walk from the towncentre. The car park is located directly in front of the rooms and easyto access. Our room was spotless during our stay.
Review 66:Looks and feels like a (good) motel
Review 67:Central location, a few minutes from the beach. Newly decorated and spotlessly clean. Very good Wifi & TV Parking
Review 68:Very clean, comfortable and with plenty of room. Very good value for money. A bit of a surprise package - does not look much from the outside but lovely inside the rooms.
Review 69:There wasn't anything we did not like about the hotel, although we were doubtful when we pulled up as the outside looks a bit run down.
Review 70:The location, just short walk from the beach and restaurants. Room very clean, comfortable and contemporary. Very good breakfast.
Review 71:I liked everything about the hotel however, I would have liked a mini fridge in the room and maybe even a microwave.
Review 72:I loved everything about this hotel. It's location was perfect, the family room we stayed in was spacious, comfortable and spotless! Sylvie was at the front desk when we arrived and was friendly, spoke English and was very welcoming. We were within walking distance to the beach and town for great shopping, site seeing and eating.
Review 73:We felt almost like at home, thanks to very friendly Silvya, who did your best to understand our poor French. Rooms and terrace are spacy. Breakfast is good with wide choice of pastry, sauseges and fruits. The location is perfect for who is interesting in Normandy landing in 06/06/1944.
Review 74:Breakfast felt quite expensive for what it was.
Review 75:Excellent location with all of Arromanches within easy reach. Great boulangerie (Clair du Lune) just down the road and a small super market across the square from the hotel. Rooms modern and with some having a great view over the town into the harbour.
Review 76:The shower ran hot and cold. The walls were a bit thin and there was no one on reception when we tried to checkout.
Review 77:Great location for exploring Arromanches and the D Day Beaches. The room was spacious and clean. An excellent hotel for a reasonable rate.
Review 78:I couldn't get the wifi to work. As we were only there one night it didn't matter. There was tea and coffee but only green tea and ordinary coffee. Maybe a bigger selection would have been good. Also if we were staying any longer a small fridge would have been useful.
Review 79:An excellent location. Parking was right outside. We were in the family suite which had a small garden and outside seating. There were two separate bedrooms which was a benefit. Everything was clean, tidy and well decorated.
Review 80:Room a bit basic up a flight of stairs and no lift.Dont expect luxury.
Review 81:location was excellent also plenty of parking. The couple who were the owners ran a very efficient hotel. The breakfast was good.Good value.

Review 92:A lovely room to walk into after travelling. In heart of the town.Very welcoming. On sight car parking very useful and secure
Review 93:It was very warm weather but the hotel had winter duvets on the beds. It made it difficult to sleep.
Review 94:Couldn't take our dog into breakfast, and small car park
