Reviews for Au Jardin des Deux Ponts
Review 1:Short flight of stairs: very easy but cumbersome with big luggage!
Review 2:Friendly, accomodating, good space, short walking distance to restaurants and shops and charming overall.
Review 3:Nothing really but the shower floor when soapy is slippery. A mirror in the bedroom would be helpful
Review 4:Lovely landlady, well positioned, very good value, lovely garden, convenient having a supermarket opposite.
Review 5:Florence and Joseph are wonderful and very friendly hosts! Each morning, the fresh baguettes and croissants are always accompanied by little notes wishing you an enjoyable stay. There is a stunning and surprising beautiful walled 'secret' garden, one of the largest in the town, which is not visible from the road. This is a business that really deserves to thrive. We will be back...
Review 6:Beautiful and tranquil garden behind the big doors. Very quiet, well-appointed studio. Wonderful hosts - friendly and genuinely concerned that I was comfortable and had everything I needed. Would return!
Review 7:It was perfect
Review 8:The hotel is in an old private 'manor' house just 2 minutes fromthe town centre. You enter through big metal gates into Paradise. Thegarden is breathtaking and calming and lush! The flat was modern and hadall we needed and wanted -.Breakfast- Fresh eggs, butter, milk, juice, coffee, tea, etc etc fresh baguettes and cakes from the boulangerie eachmorning- Florence got what we wanted! So sweet! It's very relaxingand feels very secure. We had come over for a wedding nearby and thelocation was perfect. My husband is going to work some few days permonth in Paris and northern France - doing French/ Englishconsulting - and we are definitely coming back! It's a greatlocation to where ever you are heading to in France!
Review 9:Nothing to dislike about accommodation. Town itself very quiet in evenings and closed very early at night....restaurants closed at 9pm!
Review 10:Loved accommodation. Owner lovely, very friendly and welcoming.
Review 11:Despite being a frecuent booking user It will be first time I place an opinion in booking.. I have only good and nice words for the charming and personal attention service of this hotel owners...thanks
Review 12:A magical place where you step through the grey gates into another, more gracious age. The apartment was small but beautifully appointed and the kitchen was well equipped. Our hosts were charming and very helpful. The gardens are huge and very pretty. Well placed for exploring the region. We ended our stay feeling relaxed and recharged.
Review 13:There is nothing not to dislike.
Review 14:Florence and Joseph made you feel more than welcome and were more than willing to assist in any way possible. On entering the property through the front double door from the road is very deceiving. The villa and grounds are amazing. Would recommend this place to anyone.
Review 15:Very little to comment on here!
Review 16:Location is 5 mins walk from centre ville and opposite a Carrefour. Parking was easy and free. Apartment was better than we expected with beautiful gardens and courtyard. Close to Poppy Route memorials and the coast.
Review 17:The outside can be very off putting but it makes it all the more magical when you see the gardens within.
Review 18:The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. The accomodation was pleasant especially as it overlooked the garden. The garden as a pleasant surprise and great to walk round with the dog. I especially liked the duck pond.
Review 19:Not a fault of the apartment, but Abbeville restaurants closed Sundays and Monday evenings, a struggle to find somewhere to eat.
Review 20:Very well furnished apartment, convenient to town, parking outside, very friendly and helpful host, garden view, wonderful 'rain' shower, traditional refurbished wooden floors (take your slippers) everything for self catering, but breakfast freshly delivered each morning.
Review 21:Leaving for home :((
Review 22:We found this little paradise by chance on our return trip to Calais and was amazed at what was behind the tall grey doors. The apartment was bright, fresh and very roomy with everything you could wish for and even tea and cake for two waiting. It's five minutes walk from the town and half an hour from the coast. Florence and Joseph were perfect hosts and welcomed us into they're beautiful garden where we spent the afternoon relaxing with a bottle of wine or two over looking their pond. Will definitely be returning again.
Review 23:This situation is in the town centre of Abbevile and ideal for touring the surrounding are. The owners of this Gite (apartment) were very welcoming and friendly. The garden is magnificent.
Review 24:That we hadn't booked for longer.
Review 25:Wonderful host family. Nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful accommodation on what is essentially a main road but walk through the grey door and nobody could be disappointed. All of the apartments are individually set out, decorated to a high standard and fitted out superbly. Excellent cleanliness and the most superb gardens. Florence could not be a more generous and hospitable hostess. We had an excellent time.
Review 26:Parking outside was free of charge but could be inconvenient if no space at busy times. We were fine in late August. I would find it hard to think of anything not to like! Maybe the ducks could be a bit quieter early in the day?Only one apartment has the full garden view but the outside space is huge.
Review 27:The garden is the star. The rooms are also well furnished and very quiet as they face inwards from the road. The welcome from the owners was very warm; home made jam, cake all there to greet you. Good kitchen facilities and garden space to walk and relax. The house is around 200 years old and a great find. The owners are so proud of their home, are there to help but respectful of privacy.
Review 28:From warm welcome through to "nothing is too much trouble" attitude, onto delightful 'apartment', amazing gardens, fresh bread delivered each morning, and genuine desire to make our short stay a pleasure. We WILL return, but next time stay longer. Geoff & Jane. Northampton
Review 29:Nothing to dislike
Review 30:beautiful apartment beautiful garden all very tastefully done and nothing was too much trouble for us from Florence and family the owners. Was wonderful to open the big iron gate and enter the cobbles into the secret garden!
Review 31:- Easy to find, free street parking in front, close to a lovely town centre. Big Carrefour supermarket across the road also has plenty parking.- Compact but well equiped apartment, nicely decorated with a comfortable bathroom and bedroom. - Having a little kitchen with seating was a plus as I like to do my own thing. Very tasty baguette and croissant left at the door in the morning - eggs, butter, milk, juice, jam, cheese, yoghurt, coffee, tea and muesli provided in the kitchen. - Florence is a very friendly and helpful host and provides you with plenty of useful information on what to see. - Beautiful big garden which is lovely for ending your day in, watching the ducks in the pond. - Very good price for an original place to stay and close to an amazing coastline.
Review 32:Wifi problems. In fairness this seems to be commonplace in France, only one of the four Hotels/B&B we visited actually had wifi that worked.
Review 33:Lovely apartments and a beautiful, tranquil garden in the most surprising of locations. Very friendly and helpful owners, nothing too much trouble. Excellent base for exploring the area in particular the Bay de Somme.
Review 34:Nothing to find fault with.
Review 35:We were warmly welcomed by Florence and shown around a wonderful oasis of calm and beauty. The bedroom overlooked the garden which was a pleasure to walk around or just sit in. The rest of the apartment was well equipped and very comfortable. We hired bicycles and so were able to explore the town and beyond. The town was a few minutes walk away and a supermarket is close by - so all very accessible, especially if travelling without a car. A special place and Florence and her family are delightful and very helpful.
Review 36:One of the best self-catering experiences ever. Florence and Joseph were fantastic hosts and did so much to make our stay so enjoyable. We felt that we arrived as guests and left as friends. We certainly plan to stay again. The garden is fantastic, so many places to sit and relax in either sunshine or shade. The location was perfect for exploring Abbeville on foot. Free parking outside is also a big bonus.

Review 57:Nothing.
Review 58:We had a wonderful stay at Au Jardin des Deux Ponts. Great apartment, tastefully decorated, comfortable beds and super clean. Florence was very welcoming and couldn't be more helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Review 59:Our room overlooked the front of the property, with busy road. This wasn't a problem at the weekend, but weekday traffic started quite early. The other two apartments (both equally well-appointed) would be quieter.
Review 60:Very centrally located, easy for shops and restaurants. Room/apartment was clean, bright and comfortable, and the kitchen was well-equipped. The owners couldn't have been more helpful; nothing was too much trouble. And the garden was a hidden gem!
Review 61:Could not get wi fi to work, but might be my fault
Review 62:Very close to town centre, supermarket across road, free parking, well equipped apartment, some breakfast items already in room and further choice left in basket on step, very helpful and friendly owners. Well attended gardens, eat out in Summer !
Review 63:The details said there was a patio which led me to believe I would be able to sit outside the apartment which was important to me. The garden was lovely but just hoped for a private outside space.
Review 64:Beautiful apartment and extremely helpful owner. I would certainly recommend it.
Review 65:No complaints.
Review 66:This is a very comfortable self catering apartment with everything you will need. The kitchen is small but well equipped. The shower room is modern and very clean as is the whole apartment. The garden is large and very pleasant.Having a supermarket across the road is a bonus. The Church of Saint Vulfran is very close by.The location is excellent for exploring the beautiful Baie de Somme estuary and villages .The owner was friendly and welcoming and we were able to park our car right outside the property.
Review 67:Would have liked better instructions on how to find it, but once found well worth the visit.
Review 68:Very friendly, comfortable with everything you would need for a short stay, plenty of toiletries, hot water even a dish washer. Ideal base for exploring the region and only a short walk from the town. Supermarket and bakers very close by if self catering.
Review 69:No payment by credit cards so had to arrange a bank transfer. Small point , for the price, better quality of towels and toiliteries should be provided. Bathroom door could be better fitted!
Review 70:Beautiful house & Garden and very welcoming hostess. Centrally located.
Review 71:A little hard to find. Spaces are small so might be difficult for large people.
Review 72:The studio apartment was fully equipped for cooking and even had a dishwasher and washing machine. Nice to have the option of fixing some meals in the room and preparing picnics. Convenient to grocery. Good location for visiting Valley of the Somme.
Review 73:As a short break it was perfect. From the outside it looks strange, but step inside and it's like wonderland. Cleverly designed modern apartment in an old setting with a garden to die for !
Review 74:This is quite a small B& B however we found it to be perfectly adequate for our 3 night stay
Review 75:The owner Florence was most helpful & very pleasant. Good location in the middle of town. Lovely surprise behind the huge gates with a beautiful garden, ducks & ponds. Fresh croissants & baguette delivered each morning, other breakfast provisions supplied in fridge.
Review 76:M & Madame Farjallah particularly emphasise their wish that guests have all that they need for their visit. They and their family really do make you feel at home. The accommodation has been completely renovated. The bathroom has a modern suite with a large and very modern shower. The kitchen is very well equipped including dishwasher and washing machine. The bedroom is comfortable and has adequate storage except for long dresses. The garden is large with a magnificent display of plants and a large duck pond with a central island. In the garden there is garden furniture (table and chairs) and also a table and 2 chairs in the courtyard for the use of guests. The Farjallahs have nearly completed the renovation of 2 further apartments on the first floor. The parking adjacent to the gate off the roadway is very convenient for loading and unloading. The Carrefour Market supermarket across the road is very convenient. There are 6 or more very good restaurants within easy walking distance.
Review 77:No off street parking but readily available in front of the accommodation or a nearby shopping centre. No security problems for vehicles parked in the streets - a common practise.
Review 78:Proprietors keen to ensure an enjoyable stay. Accommodation well appointed and comfortable. Facility located in central Abbeville has a large garden for customer use. Breakfast was well catered with homemade produce. Professionally run business.
Review 79:No off street parking but there is plenty in the Carrefour carpark opposite.
Review 80:Central location, old French farm house character with beautiful garden.Owner was very friendly and helpful.
Review 81:Not their fault but the weather was freezing with lying snow so at times we struggled to get warm.
Review 82:It was self-contained with a small kitchen area and fridge so we could make our own breakfasts with the croissants supplied fresh each morning. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners and they were very helpful with advice on where to go and what to see & do. It was very close to the shops, bars and restaurants.
