Reviews for Hotel Bahía
Review 1:I was in room 1008 and there was a constant hum of electricity eventually at 4am after being awake from 2 because of the noise I went down to complain and was given the key to a room on another room. Unfortunately I spent the next morning moving room rather than having breakfast before my days work
Review 2:Helpfulness of staff and location
Review 3:Finding the car park was a nightmare.
Review 4:The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were efficient and very helpful, Breakfast offered a good choice of foods.
Review 5:Lack of tea making facilities in the room.
Review 6:In terms of value for money this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The rooms are spacious and well furnished, the breakfasts are excellent and the hotel location being on the waterfront but in the business district is first class.
Review 7:Nothing to dislike.
Review 8:Polite, friendly and professional reception staff. Excellent location across the road from ferry terminal. Clean comfortable large bedroom with sea views. Lovely public and bar areas. Would definitely recommend this hotel
Review 9:Restricted seating in cafe/ bar due to being open to public. Times of hot food limited in bar . Route and road access to hotel a nightmare. Had to drive through pedestrian area.
Review 10:Position of hotel and parking facilities but car park should have been free of charge for hotel guests.
Review 11:The hotel is very noisy. You can hear the neighbours and in our case a family was staying next door. Hearing their children at 8 am while on holidays was a big downside on our stay. Also we could hear the pipelines of the hotel when people in other rooms were taking a shower.
Review 12:The location is great. Close to the town amenities and the beach. Amazing view
Review 13:Staff didn't know English. Was not able to communicate. There was no complimentary water and no microwave in the room.Didn't get vegetarian food in cafeteria.
Review 14:Cleanliness, Staff was helpful.
Review 15:Everything about the hotel and its staff exuded comfort and delight. Exquisite food and sumptuous accommodation and very secure underground parking made the whole experience a very memorable and enjoyable one.
Review 16:When I checked out on Monday 14th,a gentleman was on reception. He was very eager to present my bill and take my money BUT he did no say thank you. Did not ask if I had enjoyed my stay. Did not say goodbye or hope to see you again. I thought he was quite rude.
Review 17:Room very comfortable. Very good bathroom. Very nice meal in the restaurant,waiter/maitre D very nice.
Review 18:None, but the approach to the hotel is through a pedestrianised area, that might confuse a first-timer.
Review 19:This hotel, refurbished since we last saw it, is ideal in all respects. Location when leaving the ferry in late afternoon, close to the bars and restaurants of the town, safe parking, very helpful, English-speaking staff. What more can I say!
Review 20:Staff friendliness and knowledge as well as their willingness to answer any questions. The hotel was immaculate and in an ideal location. The safe car parking underneath was an added bonus.
Review 21:Cafeteria meals were average and the coffee was cold. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. (Important feature to UK guests)
Review 22:Location in Santander, we used the ferryport. Staff were helpful.
Review 23:Consistently good..pleasant staff. Especially Eva at breakfast and all the front desk staff. No complaints. We stay frequently with you and love it. Thanks a lot.
Review 24:Nothing
Review 25:The staff were pleasant and attentive. The room was very comfortable. The food, both the evening meal and breakfast, was excellent. At the price we paid this was good value.
Review 26:No hot food available until 20:30. Difficult to find the entrance for car drivers.
Review 27:The sea view especially. Otherwise everything else was excellent with easy access to the shops.
Review 28:The noise.it is really noisy if you want to sleep. From the cleaner to the next or above rooms.I old hear people taking shower. Water running. Toilet seat hitin. Doors smash. I had to leave the hotel. As compensation they did not charge me for the breakfast which is a plus
Review 29:Location. Good manner people. Views.
Review 30:There wasn't anything I disliked but breakfast here and at many similar hotels are much too expensive. We had our breakfast elsewhere but they could improve here by giving a better value for money breakfast - then we would have eaten here.
Review 31:Big room very clean & comfortable. Central position. Car parking space.
Review 32:Englander had little to offer in a short stay. Couldn't get near Sardinero beach due to every parking space (and some!) was taken.
Review 33:Location of the hotel. Staff were helpful & friendly.
Review 34:Parking wasn't able to take our car due to the height, the staff did help us find parking within 20 minutes walk.
Review 35:Hotel is in a great location if you want a city stay. Room was spacious and clean.
Review 36:Beautiful preserved hotel, rooms spacious, comfortable and immaculately clean, location is great right in the city centre, very safe own car park as well, excellent food in the restaurant, bar and a delicious typical Spanish buffet breakfast with so much choice to spoil guests
Review 37:Lovely spacious room with view over the water. Spotlessly clean. Very quiet even though loads of bars and cafes right on the doorstep and only moments from great shopping. Staff spoke very limited English but very friendly and helpful to the extent of identifying the only bar in town that was showing the Rugby World Cup final live.
Review 38:We looked everything about this hotel
Review 39:The quality, position and excellent staff made for a brilliant stay. We would not hesitate to return to this hotel.
Review 40:Breakfast was a buffet which unfortunately was cold and not very enjoyable. Check out time was miss communicated when we checked the evening before which meant we were late checking out the following day.
Review 41:The hotel was clean and comfortable with good facilities. It is in a central location and close to all amenities in Santander. Ideally located for shopping, bars and restaurants. We had a good night sleep after an extremely long journey.
Review 42:Unable to get a drink in the bar after midnight even though there were people still sitting there drinking and bars in the area open!
Review 43:Location is perfect for bus station and hotel excellent value for money
Review 44:The view from the room was not as good as advertised and the window was very dirty. It can be a bit noisy because the doors slam and the walls are thin.
Review 45:The location and price are excellent. The staff speak English. Rooms have good blackout curtains.
Review 46:Adjacent building scaffolding, as next door was in the process of renovating.
Review 47:The hotel is modern, our room was spacious, close to the bus stop making the Bono card a perfect way to visit Magdalena.
Review 48:We left our luggage with the concierge, and a piece of pottery in our bag was broken. The bag must have been handled very roughly for this ti have happened.
Review 49:Parking, position.
Review 50:Can be a little noisy in the morning with traffic keep the window closed, there is air condition in the room.
Review 51:Great location,4 minutes walk from bus station, easy to get to all the restaurant's and bars,I would recommend a room with a seaview,I have stayed at this hotel 3 times before and will again.
Review 52:Pillows were awful .. But that was about it.
Review 53:Hotel is perfectly situated for exploring this beautiful city. Staff were very good and spoke good English.. A warning for future travellers though, very few people who work in bars and shops speak English so brush up on your Spanish before you go, it will be well worth it
Review 54:Paid extra for a queen room with sea view, was given room with partial sea view, partial city view and looking out onto construction site. Complained to reception and Room changed to one on tenth floor with a restricted seavview which had the rooms on either side looking into my room from their side windows, so had to keep curtains partially closed for all 7 days of holiday. We were also immediately under the hotels air conditioning machines so we had a constant humming noise from roof. There was only one channel cnnnews which was in english, very poor for a cosmopolitan area. Bed was uncomfortable and not queen size as I'd expect in a queen room, don't believe the bedsheets were changed during my seven day stay. Toiletries were not fully replaced most days. No newspapers in hotel foyer. No access to 2nd floor terrace bar, seems it's only for private functions. This was one of the reasons we booked hotel so we could sit out at night. Bad planning.
Review 55:Great location and friendly staff. Bar , cafe and foyer very clean and modern.
Review 56:Rather difficult to locate reserved parking garage.
Review 57:A good start to our Spanish road trip convenient location very near ferry port. Staff helpful. Comfortable room with good view over the city.
Review 58:Stunning hotel in a superb location with easy access to the shopping areas and the long sandy beaches. Beautiful walk from the hotel around the Magdalena peninsula with its rock pools and seals plus the Palace de Magdalena.
Review 59:We stayed here in May this year and when we were looking at returning went straight back to this hotel ideally situated, excellent value, superb rooms and friendly staff would stay no where else
Review 60:Stayed here many times but this time a bit disappointed - reception and bar staff not as welcoming and attentive.
Review 61:Location can't be bettered both for the town centre and ferry port. Clean and comfortable rooms and public areas.
Review 62:Experience of this hotel spoilt by the really bad attitude of theparticular receptionist that checked us out and who first met us andstored our luggage for later check in.
Review 63:Great location
Review 64:Would have maybe liked tea/ coffee making facility in the room. Couldn't fault anything else.
Review 65:Check in and check out very smooth. Fabulous room. Sumptuous Breakfast Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Only regret was that we only had one night here as we were travelling south. Decor and standard of interior finish is top class.
Review 66:Although on the top floor we experienced some noise and sleep disruption from nearby air conditioning / heating unit outside of the room / window
Review 67:Location near to ferry terminal and town centre Secure underground car park
Review 68:Nothing.
Review 69:Wonderful large room with very good sized en suite and excellent complimentary shower toiletries. Very close to harbour but also close to town so great location. Has bar and restaurant. Only thing that would have improved it would be tea/ coffee making facilities.
Review 70:No hospitality tray Booked room with a sea view, but this was spoilt by the building of a carbuncle in the form of a new cultural centre
Review 71:Good sized room 10 minutes walk from bus and train stations Near the centre of the city and the shops Good toiletries Very good breakfast No waiting at the lifts
Review 72:The breakfast was very poor as at 9.30 in the morning a lot of things had run out and didnot get replaced quickly enough. Staff seemed to running around trying to help but as one guest said it was like "Faulty Tower". This let the stay down and we felt the price for breakfastwas over priced. Not sure if we would rebook again.
Review 73:The rooms are great with comfortable beds and a good shower and nice bathroom gifts. Car parking was safe and clean but only the lift was avalible to get in and out.
Review 74:everything was good
Review 75:Great View!!! We paid an extra supplement for an ocean view . It was worth it!! Beautiful furniture. Fantastic bed. Nice reception area. Close to shops and restaurants.
Review 76:Finding the hotel by car. A clear map to show route from ferry terminal to hotel car park would have avoided a lot of anguish in the Santander rush hour!
Review 77:View, space, comfort
Review 78:Very noisy neighbours. Very poor sound-proofing in the room.
Review 79:Lovely comfortable room and bathroom with great view of the cathedral. Good breakfast and with plenty of choice nearby for eating. Near to buses, station and bus station.
Review 80:Bar staff very unfriendly , even grumpy, and were not helpful or customer focussed. (In contrast, restaurant staff were very good and front of house staff were reasonably good). Some issues with noise in morning from building works in adjacent building.
Review 81:Super location and good value. Restaurant provided very good value for dinner (€20 per person for Menu del dia) and excellent service. Will stay here again when we are in Santander.
Review 82:late opening of restaurants!
Review 83:Central location and easy access. The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to assist us! The food was superb.
Review 84:The hotel is situated within a pedestrian area and the route to follow, with the one way system is not easy. We were yards from it but miles away! PS. Don't have the scallops!
Review 85:Close to the port and convenient for a late arrival or early departure.
Review 86:There was no kettle in the room and the WiFi was temperamental.
Review 87:Couldn't have asked for better location, great view out of the window, nice and clean room.
Review 88:Very hot in room, could not have window open due to road noise & very strong lights from building opposite.
Review 89:Excellent junior suite with lovely port views
Review 90:There was no irons and iron boards available, only ironing service which is expensive and takes 24 hours. Room didn't have a kettle for tea or coffee.
Review 91:Just a very small item of note,no bbc or sky news and as wi fi was very poor could not keep up with current news on my tablet.
Review 92:Hotel in a good location, and very clean throughout, cafe was good although some seating outside would be nice.
Review 93:Beautiful room in a good location. We were only in Santander for one day and night and we were well located to see the city. Our room had a very nice view of the harbor and it was very well appointed. The parking was fine, especially with a small car but if driving do get directions as our GPS took us close to the hotel but not to the actual entrance. If coming to Santander I'd stay here again.
Review 94:Modern, comfortable hotel . Ideal for stopover at port. Very friendly , helpful staff. Secure parking in basement . Pleasant , lively bar/restaurant .
Review 95:Dirty glass in fridge. Hair in bathroom sink. Requested upper floor room, but were given 5th floor. Inconsistency of cost to park motorcycle - it should be free at all times as the area used was not big enough for a car.
Review 96:Fantastic hotel in central Santander. Excellent free parking underneath for our motorcycle (we were charged last time!) Loads of cafes & bars within 5 minutes walk - never used the expensive on-site bar.
Review 97:Excellent location. Ferry terminal, rail and bus stations, town centre and promenade all within a few minutes walk. Superb rooms and friendly, helpful staff
Review 98:Modern hotel situated near the bus station and opposite the ferry terminal. Sea view room spacious, clean and very comfortable. Reception personnel all extremely pleasant and helpful.
Review 99:Bit confusing on how to enter the garage especially when the key didn't work and staff said nothing wrong with the key, but there was.
Review 100:The hotel was in a good location easy to find. The breakfast had such a good choice. Very quiet and comfortable room.secure parking.
Review 101:Staff is a bit snobbish, and not client oriented (as an example, you can't choose your table at breakfast.)
Review 102:Location was great, breakfast itself was great. beds are great, view was great, I loved the car elevator for parking.
Review 103:Spacious room, views onto park n sea, location excellent between city business/ shopping area and tourist areas. Foyer and reception area, and cafe were also impressive- worthy of 4 stat rating.
Review 104:Wifi poor inconsistent service. TV channels could have been wider. Staff very pleasant but could have been briefed better.
Review 105:Lovely big room and bathroom.
Review 106:Not their fault, but because of the construction of a new culture centre and underpass nearby, the exit from the port has been changed. That has made access more difficult, but it is well signposted.
Review 107:Convenience - right by the Brittany Ferries arrival/departure area. Has been recently and extensively refurbished. This hotel was always good, but now is exceptional. Secure underground garage. Very good breakfast. Right by the Bay with good views.
Review 108:Only Spanish TV. Some international TV stations would be good especially as it is a hotel that is much used by foreign travellers.
Review 109:Luxurious, Close to Port and Restaurant and Parks
Review 110:I entered the hotel and asked in the reception if there was a room available for that day, they said no without looking at the computer. Then I looked in booking.com and there was availability so I reserved through them. I simply think they did not tell me the truth when I asked at the reception. They treated me a little bit like in the movie "Pretty Woman" when she goes to buy clothes. This is not tolerable. I have stayed there before and in much betters hotels than this as a matter of fact. The staff needs to enter the 21st century: customers with a loaded credit card do not necessarily wear gold or furs.
Review 111:It's a very comfortable, well-kept hotel in a great location and the rooms have great views. Also, there is a cafeteria that is open all day and they serve great coffee and food.
Review 112:We were woken by the sound of rushing water. We feared we were about to be flooded but eventually realised it was caused by the plumbing in an adjacent room.
Review 113:We had a lovely room (724) on the 7th floor overlooking the Cathedral, the rooms opposite us had views over the Port.It was a little tricky getting to the hotel even though we could see it but once we had walked & checked in, we were given directions & it was easy. We recommend contacting the hotel by email for directions before setting off (as suggested!!) Excellent location for catching the car ferry even though the entrance the port has changed & it takes 10 minutes to get inside the port..... Staff were all very helpful our motorcycle was parked without charge in a secure underground car park which was accessed by a car lift, this made life simple! Lots to see & do, beaches are lovely.Lots of nice restaurants nearby.
Review 114:Excellent and helpful staff. When I needed to see a doctor they phoned and had someone come to my hotel room within 15 minutes . The hotel also paid the doctor's fee !!
Review 115:Stayed in Junior suite. Extremely good value and comfortable. Lots of room. Exceptional Menu Degustacion in the restaurant in evening. €32 each for 5 courses, wine, water and coffee. best meal on the trip. Location, right next to cathedral
Review 116:The noise from the toilet being flushed and then the waste rushing down the pipe from the room above was very loud and annoying.
Review 117:The location opposite the ferry terminal was great. The secure parking was good. The staff were really helpful and the food excellent.
Review 118:I had a waterfront view room, which must be very far from the WiFi router because I needed to step out of the room at times to be able to reconnect.
Review 119:Really great value for money
Review 120:The wifi didn't work very well. the coffee machine coffee was horrid.
Review 121:the location in the heart of Santander, with fabulous views over the bay, near the Ferry terminal and bus station. also easy to get to Somo beach by ferry from there.
Review 122:Location ideal for sightseeing and the ferry port. Friendly andcourteous staff. Rooms were very clean and excellent facilities.Breakfast buffet extensive range and all fresh.
Review 123:The hotel is well located for the cathedral and town centre. Our spacious and clean room overlooked the bay (hence the name of the hotel) In terms of transport the hotel couldn't be more convenient. It is opposite the ferry terminal, the bus station is about 300m away and a taxi will get you to the airport in 10 minutes. There is a great choice of restaurants and bars around the area and a decent bistro in the hotel. This isn't a hotel for the beach which is a good walk away, but great for a stop off on arrival or on the way home.
Review 124:Soundproofing is not the best and I could hear the loud TV of my neighbors.
Review 125:Location was perfect, close to main sights and on the waterfront . Rooms modern and well appointed.
Review 126:The car park lift was fine to go in but the spiral to get out was very tight for a large car.
Review 127:Room was spacious and clean with lovely a view. The lunch time set menu was excellent value and the breakfast had a very good choice of food including gluten free products.
Review 128:We made a good choice, as it is exactly as described and there was nothing not to like about it, other than that we were not there for longer.
Review 129:Stayed for one night during a touring holiday. Excellent hotel with friendly staff. Excellent car parking facilities (one of the best hotel car parks during our four week trip) Probably the best location of all the hotels in Santander, with an easy walk to the town in one direction or to the beach in the other.
Review 130:The car lift to the car park was an unusual experience and quite tight for parking.
Review 131:Beautiful suite with amazing views. Location is great with underground parking. Great price too
