Reviews for Chateau Les Farcies du Pech

Review 1:Location quiet. Having a vineyard with wine products. Friendly staff. Tea, coffee and snack use of kitchen by guests. Very large quest rooms and facilities. Historic house.

Review 2:Glorious property set in a vineyard and owned by gracious hosts who provide warm hospitality in a beautiful setting. Would gladly spend a week there.

Review 3:A peaceful setting in the countryside and a good base for exploring the locality. We travelled by car and had the additional benefit of being able to buy a few cases of the wine produced by the Chateau which is excellent stuff at a very good price.

Review 4:Must have car, difficult to find,no restaurant, breakfast not served until 8.30,useless wi-fi. This is not a hotel but an up market B& B set in a working vineyard. Next time in Bergerac would stay at La Flambé hotel, which was recommended by hostess for dinner, serves great food & no need to drive,so able to have wine with dinner.

Review 5:Large room, use of kitchen with free snacks, hot drinks & wine.

Review 6:We only stayed one night - the breakfast was lovely with loads of choice and we liked the way that all the guests were sat around the one large table. Gave a feeling of friendliness. We would certainly recommend to other people.

Review 7:On arrival we were shown to our room, shown where we could make tea andcoffee and then we were left to our own devises. We had to ask anotherquest for help with the wifi code. We weren't given the opportunityto buy a bottle of the Chateaux wine for the evening or any informationof a vineyard walk that fellow guests had reviwed. We had no idea incase of an emergency of how to contact the owners.

Review 8:Liked the location. Breakfast was good.

Review 9:address not accepted by my sat nav and no directions given- so I got lost on the way. On arrival I was shown to my room, but not given any information about the facilities, whether I could make coffee in the kitchen etc, and couldn't find anyone to ask In contrast, the lady who looked after us at breakfast was exceptionally helpful and full of information- I wish she had been there on my arrival

Review 10:fabulous comfy bed. generous breakfast beautiful room, excellent shower.Very peaceful This was just a 1 night stop before my flight home, but i wish I coul have stayed longer to enjoy the surroundings.

Review 11:A most warm reception from our hosts, a lovely, tranquil setting among woods and vineyards. Elegance all around--the furnishings, the rooms and bath, the linens, the table setting. Delicious breakfast of freshest fruits, preserves, and pastries. Just perfect!

Review 12:Beautiful 16th & 17th Century Chateau - perfect location! Huge spotlessly clean bedroom with beautiful antique furniture. We had a special request of 2 cots for our babies which were all set up for when we arrive with lots of bed linen. Lovely staff who will organise somewhere local to eat should you need it as there is no restaurant on site. The shared facilities are brilliant - dining table, kettle, fridge microwave etc (essential when travelling with baby twins!) Unfortunately didn't have time for breakfast as early flight to catch! Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends

Review 13:Warm welcome, delightful staff, very good bedroom and bathroom facilities, superb breakfast. There are limitless walks through the vines. Nearby, Bergerac is a lovely tourist destination.

Review 14:The whole experience, the personal approach of the hosts and the wonderful breakfast feast was fantastic, would recommend to all and a beautiful base to see the great area.

Review 15:No bad experiences at all

Review 16:The room was large, it and the bathroom were very clean. The room was traditionally decorated with good quality furnishings. It was very quiet at night with no noise transference between rooms at all. The breakfast was the normal croissants, cheese etc but with freshly made OJ and jams and the other guests were friendly so it was nice to talk to everyone around the table and find out their interesting stories. The proprietor was extremely friendly and welcoming. It was lovely staying there and it was only a 5 min drive into the town centre.

Review 17:Sadly Madam did not rise until 8 a.m. and as we had to check in to Bergerac Airport at 7.45 or so and did not know our way too well we could not wait for breakfast.

Review 18:Very tasteful restored small chateau. Our room with bathroom and sitting room was delightful. Peaceful night.

Review 19:There was nothing not to like, excellent

Review 20:Excellent, true taste of a real French Chateau. Serge and Betty were the perfect hosts. Rooms were large with excellent facilities, breakfast was perfect, wine tasting, all set in a lovely vineyard. Couldn't have been any better.

Review 21:Nothing at all!

Review 22:The chateau was beautiful, the owners were really friendly and welcoming and just perfect. Lovely quiet location, but still close to the town of Bergerac.

Review 23:Old building so a little noisy, creaky but can't be helped!!

Review 24:We stayed for one night only. Extremely kind and helpful owners. On Betty's recommendation we went to a restaurant nearby which was fab. Husband bought six bottles of wine!

Review 25:We loved everything right from the very start when we approached the beautiful entrance to the property. The evening sun was just starting to go down and we were greeted warmly by the owner Marie who looked after us during our stay. The location is lovely very quitet and surrounded by vineyards which are owned by the family. Our room was beauffully decorated with lovely wooden shutters that opened on to the patio and garden area where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine ! During our stay we sampled the wine that is produced on site which I must say was wonderful! In the mornings breakfast was seved in traditional continental style by Marie and Betty , they also took great care with my dietary requirements for a wheat and gluten free optian. We had a wonderful time in a beautiful chateau with the most lovely of hosts which made our holiday a time that will be remembered forever !

Review 26:A very warm welcome from our hostess who was also very helpful. Beautiful surroundings - we enjoyed our walk round the estate and into the vineyards. Great b'fast and spacious and comfortable rooms

Review 27:There was anything that we didn't like about the chateau

Review 28:Hospitality was amazing no request too difficult. Friendly staff and we were made to feel very comfortable in all aspects of our stay.

Review 29:A proper and traditional French stay, not especially typical in the Dordogne, because of strong Brit interest in the area. Lovely and hospitable hosts

Review 30:Serge, Betty and Marie were perfect hosts, attentive but unobtrusive. The Chateau is a perfect pace to stay, peaceful but convenient, though having a car helps. The wine was very, very good as were the breakfasts. Got to meet the other guests and had a good time eating, drinking and talking the evening away. The vineyard is a great place to stroll, with a glass of wine in hand of course and then buy a lot to take home! We will definitely be back for longer.

Review 31:This place is quite simply superb. An attractive old chateau elegantly furnished with antiques and fine furniture in a beautiful location. A good welcome, attentive hosts and excellent breakfast, ability to walk in the vineyards around and the centre of Bergerac close by car.

Review 32:The property was immaculate, it was like stepping back in time. The unexpected surprise of an impromptu wine tasting of the Pecharmant wine grown on the estate just made our short stay unforgettable.

Review 33:Nothing

Review 34:Beautiful old chateau on a working vineyard Owners v friendly Clean and comfortable Amazing breakfast and recommended a restaurant within walking distance for dinner

Review 35:Everywhere was spotlessly clean and well looked after. The wine tour of the property was perfect, and the wine excellent. Marie made us very welcome and comfortable.

Review 36:Would have been lovely if tea/ coffee facilities provided in room, instead of communal area downstairs. Wi fi very poor in rooms, had to sit in communal area to use.

Review 37:Good location for base for Dordogne area. Size of room. History of buildings. Staff were helpful with advise for surrounding attractions.

Review 38:Comfort at an affordable price. Sophisticated touches that were appreciated(lovely china, bedding, shower). Large rooms with super views. Close to the airport and Bergerac, yet so peaceful. Serge was very welcoming and helpful.

Review 39:Our hosts were very welcoming, it was a pleasure to stay in this old chateau, beautifully decorated in traditional French style. The rooms were massive, the beds were so comfortable, the bathroom was modern, the shower was fantastic. Breakfast is served around the large dining table, where it was nice to talk with the other guests about their experiences. Would recommend very highly.

Review 40:Finding the property was a bit difficult, but not impossible.

Review 41:Peaceful surroundings, a charming building, and pleasant hosts. The hosts were in the middle of a family meal with their guests but they were able to make us feel welcome and almost part of their festivities. We also enjoyed meeting the winemaker and learning about the family wines.

Review 42:A very friendly welcome despite our coming late at the end of an extremely busy weekend for our hosts. We were even served an impromptu dinner which we enjoyed in the company of our hosts and afterwards were charged almost nothing for it! An unusually large corner room looking out to a well-kept park with some very old trees (a giant sequoia!).Large, comfortable beds. A rich breakfast with many homemade jams but also a wide choice of cheeses.

Review 43:The room did not have drapes that cover the whole window. The drapes covered 1/2 of the two large windows (and this was on the ground floor)

Review 44:Very large room with 10ft. ceilings. Believed the property had been a former chateau. Very relaxed atmosphere

Review 45:Nothing to dislike

Review 46:We stayed for two nights and really enjoyed ourselves. The Chateau is down a quiet lane on the northern edge of Bergerac, not far from the main road to Perigueux. It's a lovely peaceful old house and we were made very welcome by Serge, Betty and Marie. It's a working winery and the wines were superb. Looking forward to having a couple of bottles of the Pecharmant at Christmas!

Review 47:old rooms which were cold,, and stone floors, not for us ceilings were high and made it colder prefer newer hotels

Review 48:owners were fantastic hosts nothing was too much trouble food was typically french and breakfast with the family was a delight lovely people

Review 49:Hard to find without some pre visit prearation.

Review 50:Lovely Chateau building growing and bottling their own wine which we sampled at an excellent nearby restaurant recommended by the staff. Very roomy and quiet, a great experience.

Review 51:We wish we had had time for wine tasting on site and the walk.

Review 52:We stayed one night before an early departure for the airport. This is an excellent location for the airport and the Bergerac area. Considering how close this chateau is to the city it is extremely peaceful with nice views over the land. There is a wine trail walk which unfortunately we did not have time to do.

Review 53:A lovely Chateau 40 minute walk from centre of Bergerac. We arrived early, and Madame prepared our room straight away. The chateau produces its own wine - always a bonus. We had a lovely room, quiet and perfect for a good nights sleep.

Review 54:If i *have* to nit-pick, then I would say I don't like the square pillows for the bed, as it leaves less room at the bottom for a tall person such as myself.

Review 55:Gorgeous chateau, grounds, and furnishings. Friendly staff and an impromptu wine tasting...

Review 56:Room was superb, clean well dressed and exceedingly comfortable. With every facility well organised and done so to the convenience of the. Guest. Marie in particular was helpful and gave advice on where to go and possible sites to see. She made the days there seem very relaxed and effortless. Everything was Excellent down to the grapes on the table.

Review 57:It was a little difficult to find. The map and directions were not clear.

Review 58:Our hosts were charming. Their home was welcoming and exquisitely appointed. We had a beautiful room with an excellent ensuite bathroom and enjoyed a good sleep in quiet surroundings. The next day serge recommended a lovely walk through the local vineyards and we were fortunate to see him tending to the vines as we finished our walk. He kindly shared his knowledge with us and showed us more of their family wine production process on the property. We truly enjoyed our visit and would recommend this place to anyone visiting the Bergerac region.

Review 59:We simply couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay to start our visit to the Dordogne. We only stayed for three nights, but ended up wishing it was for longer. The Chateau is simply beautiful, set in a wonderful peaceful location, but the real gems were the owners Betty and Serge who gave us a wonderful welcome and simply couldn't do enough for us. Our room was stunning, spacious and stylish. They make their own wine at the Chateau and I would strongly urge you to try their red Elixir, it's simply wonderful. Our personal thanks to Betty and Serge for a perfect start to our holiday. If we return to the area we will most definitely stay with them again. Places like this are not easy to find.

Review 60:Everything from the furnishings of the rooms to those of the breakfast table are beautifully chosen and unfussily good--no false notes and no pretense. The result is a rare charm and enchanting atmosphere that the wine tasting enhances wonderfully.

Review 61:The chateau location is excellent. The owners and staff all very friendly.Le Madam gave us all glass of their own wine on arrival and was able to book a table at a local restaurant. In the morning we were presented with the best breakfast we have ever had in france ! and the owners were on hand to chat about the estate.

Review 62:Not a hotel, so don't expect lots of complimentary toiletries/goodies etc. Not a great problem for us though. A car is useful as it is a 30 mins walk into town although taxis can be arranged. Again not a great problem for us.

Review 63:This is a B & B but one of very high quality. Excellent breakfast with homemade jams, good cheeses & fresh figs, strawberries & apples from the estate. Large rooms, simply but tastefully furnished. Plenty of hot water and good showers. And own vineyard! Highly recommended.

Review 64:The lovely country side chateau, cozy atmosphere. Warm welcome of the hosts, the owners of family run vineyards. Delightful vines tasting from family caves. Nice breakfast with some special treats, e.g., freshly picked up figs from the chateau's garden. We got very good suggestion for evening meal in nearby restaurant La Flambee, where we enjoyed local food and vine highlights.

Review 65:Owners and staff very helpful (even took my husband to the airport to pick up our rental car because taxis were on holiday). and provided a wonderful breakfast of freshly squeezed juice, fruit, croissants, yogurt, etc. chateau is beautifully appointed, clean, with wonderful beds in a park like setting just outside Bergerac. Definitely recommend to others.
