Reviews for Hotel Jávea

Review 1:Great location. Very clean room and bathroom. Staff really friendly. Had a celebratory meal in the hotel restaurant with friends one evening and the food was outstanding. I shall certainly recommend to friends.

Review 2:Every bodily function in neighbouring rooms can be heard, no soundproofing whatsoever. Woken by noise every hour of day and night. Overpowering perfumed candles in lobby used to try and mask sewage smells. No tea/coffee making in room

Review 3:Good location, close to port

Review 4:We stayed 3 nights so nothing bad to report. However, there is no outside space to relax in if staying for longer...the beach is really close but not ideal in the winter.....

Review 5:We know Javea well and the location of the Javea Hotel. Our impression of the interior exceeded expectations - great! Everything near - beach, port, parking, shopping restaurants. The "old town" and the famous Arenal beach are within walking distance.

Review 6:Bedroom was a little small and we did not have an exterior view.

Review 7:Bedroom and Bathroom were very clean. Staff very polite and helpful. Restaurant food was very good and reasonably priced. Good location situated in the Port area of Javea.

Review 8:Wi fi very poor and rooms slightly dark.

Review 9:Excellent location, staff helpful and friendly. Fantastic views from the restaurant. Good competitively priced breakfast and attico restaurant for evening meal very good also. Exceptionally clean everywhere in hotel, always smelling fresh. Towels changed daily.

Review 10:We had to drive around awhile to find it. The sign is high, so difficult to see from the car. Street parking only, but not too bad finding a spot.

Review 11:While difficult to find, the actual location was great. Our room had a small balcony with an exquisite view of the sea. The room was small, but clean and had everything necessary. Umbrellas and beach chairs were available. Staff was pleasant and helpful.

Review 12:The décor, location, cleanliness and friendly staff! The hotel is right in the heart of the port with the pebbly beach and clear Mediterranean water a few steps away.

Review 13:The single, inner bedroom was clean & tidy but felt a little small for me. It was noisy because it was under the restaurant over a weekend. The bathroom needed a towel rail, not just a hook. For safety reasons, a non-slip rubber mat should be available for the shower floor. I slipped when I got into it and could have easily injured myself.

Review 14:I liked the position of the hotel, the helpful staff, the boutique decor in the seating area near reception and the views from the restaurant on the top floor. The better rooms would be the outer double or twin-bedded rooms, preferably not below the restaurant when its busy. I prefer a smaller hotel to large, modern hotels when I travel on my own, so this is ideal for singles or couples. The restaurant on the top floor had lovely views of the coastline and breakfasts were reasonably priced. Judging from its popularity with the Spanish, the dinners must be of a high standard. The tourist information office was located diagonally opposite the hotel and there were plenty of shops & restaurants close by. The fridge in the bedroom meant you could keep a few drinks in the bedroom. A kettle can be requested at reception if you are desperate every morning to make your own tea.

Review 15:The location of room we had is not the best (facing the inner courtyard) and the air is rather stale

Review 16:The location is great, staff is very friendly and helpful, the prices are excellent

Review 17:- you hear all the noise of your neighbour from the rooms next door what gave us a bad sleep at night and was often even very disturbing! The isolation between the rooms is very poor! - In the bathroom we had problems to flush the toilet because a defect of the handle. - the rooms in the back of the hotel are indeed not expensive but really very small ( 4 x 4 meters) with only a little window with view to an open corridor where all the windows of the other rooms and bathrooms also are positioned, which gives also disturbing noise, because most of the windows are always open!

Review 18:- the location at "Javea puerto" was perfect! - the modern interior design of the hotel was nicely done.

Review 19:Rooms without a sea view lacked ambience, especially Room 101 that was very small (hardly enough room for two single beds) and had a depressing outlook.

Review 20:Rooms at the front and overlooking the sea were delightful. Restaurant on the top floor was relaxing, great value and had the best view in town. Superb central location.

Review 21:Lovely boutique hotel, very friendly helpful staff, immaculately clean. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Great location - near the beach and port. Exceeded my expectations.

Review 22:Nothing negative.

Review 23:Hotel was in a great location. We had a courtyard room which was small but adequate for our weekend visit. The hotel and room was spotless. the staff were very accommodating and helpful. Could not fault the service. We would recommend and return. Thoroughly enjoyed Javea great town, lots to do and see in surrounding area, lovely restaurants. Breakfast in the 5th floor restaurant was good value with amazing views.

Review 24:Noisey guests above us at 2-3 am we had to complain 3 times, the floors on the landings are laminate therefore you hear everything. Wifi is hit and miss which is very frustrating, they could do with tea making facilities in the rooms.

Review 25:Location good, cleanliness was excellent, towels changed every day , staff very helpful when we had to complain.

Review 26:would be nice to have tea/ coffee and a kettle supplied in the room.

Review 27:absolutely lovely boutique hotel - will be staying there again in our hunt for that elusive Spanish property. View from the roof restaurant was fabulous, we had breakfast each day there, lovely food, well presented and very competitively priced.

Review 28:TV (BBC News Channel, the only English channel available) was unwatchable because the signal constantly broken up. Tea/coffee facility in room would be nice.

Review 29:Ideal location for the old port area. Cheap road-train passed door to the Arenal area for 'bright lights'.

Review 30:Early breakfast not available. However I was offered free tea or coffee

Review 31:This hotel is a real gem. Beautifully decorated, comfortable beds, friendly staff and excellent value for money. The Attico restaurant is well worth a visit to enjoy good food and stunning views over the Port and Bay

Review 32:Would have preferred an external room but not at the extra cost. If in the standard room for more than a week, it would become very claustrophobic if the weather kept you inside (wet weather)for long periods. Not a problem with good weather.

Review 33:Staff in reception and breakfast area, high standard of facilities in general.

Review 34:Size of double interior room door only able to open half way due to it hitting bed. Room between twin beds was about 150mm! Escape plan showed this room (101 very apt number ) as a single room.

Review 35:Location next to beach and sea front restaurants

Review 36:-The view on the left side, blocked by the building in front. -Couldn't easily read by the lighting in the room at night, could have done with a lamp by each of the twin beds. -It was not bright enough lighting to sit and read downstairs near reception. -Our iphones had adjusted the time (unknown to us), so we adjusted the time, not knowing that had already been done. The outcome was we arrived an hour earlier than we should have, and it felt a bit awkward as we were sent away. I hoped they didn't think we were pulling a fast one!

Review 37:-The beds were so comfortable. -Loved the en suite -It was so beautifully clean. -The situation of being sited in the port itself. -Friendly receptionists, charming and helpful. -Cleaning staff friendly and helpful -When we had a light problem someone came immediately to put it right, it was great. -The restaurant food was lovely -We weren't disturbed by any noisy guests, it was lovely to get uninterrupted sleep! -We liked the fiesta going on, it was fun.

Review 38:The only thing we didn't like was the lack of having a view from the window, we felt we had to keep the curtains closed all the time, however we knew this before we booked as read all previous reviews.

Review 39:We liked the location of the hotel, so close to all the amenities. The staff in the hotel were so helpful and friendly, especially in the resteruant and the food was first class.

Review 40:our room was very small but good value for money next time I book I will upgrade to a larger room for more comfort.

Review 41:The hotel was very clean, and modern, it also had a very nice restaurant which was very reasonable, excellent location too.

Review 42:beautiful hotel in javea within a short walk to playa arenal. i got more than i expected, very helpful staff members. nice singe room with everything i needed and very clean.

Review 43:The room lacked privacy because it backed onto to others around a small courtyard. Not a major matter.

Review 44:Particularly the location. The attic restaurant was superlative un every way from the view, staff to the background music. Staff all very nice.

Review 45:I didnt realise that my single room would be an interior room. hated having to keep the curtains drawn all day as people in room opposite i think. I didnt like the fact that there is no Night Porter on duty.

Review 46:The location is perfect..ideal for the little cafes and restaurants and so close to the beautiful beach. The rooftop restaurant is excellent and great value for money. 4 courses for dinner costing 14.95 euros and lots of choice there. Good choice for breakfast and all x reasonable.

Review 47:The room was very clean and comfortable with updated decor and all the mod cons. We had a lovely sea view from the 3rd floor. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. The beach is a short walk away. We won't bother packing beach towels on our next stay here as they are provided in the room!

Review 48:The noise from the restaurant. Our room was underneath and they were banging about and scraping chairs until after 1am on our first night.

Review 49:Liked the location, very close to the beach, stunning views from the restaurant. Staff were lovely.

Gracias

Review 51:The location of the hotel in the Old Port is convenient for the Marina and the many restaurants on the sea shore. The hotel decor is very contemporary and stylish as are the bedrooms The sea view rooms on the top floor are well worth paying the extra for with fantastic views of the bay.

Review 52:Wi fi reception could be better in the rooms but excellent in bar area.

Review 53:Excellent location close to the port, restaurant has wonderful view of the bay.

Review 54:No balcony or bath, we did find out later they did have rooms with the aforementioned but had been told they didn't have rooms with baths You needed ear plugs to block out people's toilet habits as you could hear everything

Review 55:Location was good, staff pleasant and helpful

Review 56:Ideal location in the Port, close to bars and restaurants. Friendly, helpful staff. Superb top floor (Atico) restaurant with wonderful views of the port and beaches.

Review 57:Staff very helpful & friendly. Very clean and bright hotel. Walking distance to Port / Beach with a good selection of restaurants and bars on the sea front. We wished we had booked to stay longer

Review 58:Took half hour to get a cup of hot water on our first morning with tea bag on side then had to wait longer for milk etc. Fresh fruit was poor and tiny portion and yoghurt is not in the menu! Shame as restaurant had breathtaking views....

Review 59:Friendly staff very clean, very central to port etc pretty decor , highly rec

Review 60:No tea or coffee making facilities in room

Review 61:Just about everything. Only quibble is with breakfast, would be nicer to have a buffet breakfast rather than having to order from menu.

Review 62:The situation of the hotel was just right for us. It was spotlessly clean, and the food in the restaurant was delicious and good value, add the beautiful views from the restaurant and it would be hard to beat.

Review 63:My wife and I found absolutely nothing to dislike.

Review 64:The fourth floor sea view room was light, bright and comfortable. Breakfast on the fifth floor again with sea view was the perfect way to start the day. All staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.

Review 65:most room windows open onto a central light well and not an exterior view.

Review 66:Rooms were clean and well decorated with modern (recently renovated) en-suite shower room. Rooms fitted with air conditioning.

Review 67:That you can't check in until 4pm but I'm scratching to find something now as the reception took our suitcases and we just went out for lunch. No complaints

Review 68:Loved the location which in a reasonably quiet part of Javea. The Spanish restaurants are incredibly good and great value for money. Nothing compares with the hotel restaurant which was the best place we dined throughout our entire trip.

Review 69:A bit stingy with the toileteries No tea/coffee making facilities in room

Review 70:Well designed, boutique style. Friendly and helpful reception Fantastic view from restaurant - very reasonably priced breakfast (did not have dinner)

Review 71:Did not have an outside area for sitting and chilling after a hard day on the beach! There was quite a lot of noise to be heard from the kitchens if the bathroom window was left open.

Review 72:very well positioned hotel for visiting the port areas abundance of bars and restaurants.

Review 73:bedroom overlooked tiny courtyard and too easily into other bedrooms. Extremely claustrophic. Would never choose again whatever the price. On Saturday night bedroom nearby had major work carried out from 11pm to 1am - noisy hammering, heaving of furniture. Totally unacceptable. Receptionist denied all knowledge of it! First visit to breakfast produced a damp flabby croissant so did not eat there again.

Review 74:positioned in centre of the port area was very convenient. Restaurant on top floor had wonderful view

Review 75:Hotel location could not be better. The views were excellent and the food and service in the restaurant was very good. All staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 76:If you have one of the front rooms, the bar can be a bit noisy into the early morning.

Review 77:Very clean and modern up to date hotel. Staff and owners could not do enough to make our stay great. Would definitely use this hotel again.

Review 78:The down side if you had your windows open you could here echoes of guest conversations

Review 79:Comfortable,clean ,friendly staff , great location excellent value for money

Review 80:We had stayed in this hotel previously, and albeit the room was small, it was adequate. This visit found us in a broom cupboard size room with a bed that was so unstable it was unreal. Further if you tried to push the bed closer to the headboard to try and steady it, the central light would go out. So this hotel is in a great location, but check which room they give you before you book. The first room we had on our previous visit faced out of the front of the hotel, whereas this room looked into a central light well.

Review 81:Getting bags to and from was a bit of a hike. No drop off close to the front door. Front door closes at night 11pm and perhaps have to ring security to allow you back in. This is hard when no mobile for international travellers.

Review 82:It was very clean and comfortable.

Review 83:Wifi was a bit slow

Review 84:Hotel has been refurbished this winter and now is a great chic hotel located in the centre of the port. We've stayed twice in the last month and will stay again.

Review 85:breakfast only served from 9am and then very slowly. Coffee available in foyer from 7am.

Review 86:location, cleanliness and helpful staff. B Shops and restaurants nearby.

Review 87:Only comment would be that the bedroom was quite small and no view, but not a grumble just observation it was lovely and clean.

Review 88:Very friendly, clean, good English speaking staff, good views from restaurant. Nice modern bathroom.

Review 89:It would have been nice to be able to have a cup of tea or coffee during the day.

Review 90:The location of this hotel was superb, close to the beach and port and well situated for cafes and restaurants. The staff were very helpful, able to answer any question.

Review 91:Only problem was the wifi that kept going off. No one told us there was coffee available at reception till I was checking out.

Review 92:Location was good . The room was a bit small but it had everything we needed

Review 93:The rooms are very noisy if you stay in the rooms without a balcony- I would NOT recommend having an inside room as we were woken up early every morning by the noise from the other rooms.

Review 94:Location, clean room

Review 95:Noisy hotel could hear everything from next room, taps turning, people talking maybe a different room would of been better

Review 96:Lovely clean, beautiful decore, great location

Review 97:No private parking (but we knew that when we booked). Breakfast didn't start until 9 am, but loads of cafes nearby open earlier.

Review 98:Everything, including the top floor restaurant which was excellent

Review 99:If someone flushes the toilet you can hear the water running to refill the cistern, which is not good in the early hours of the morning.

Review 100:This is a very nice hotel right at the port in Javia. The room was first class with all of the facilities anyone would want.

Review 101:Everything. Hotel Jàvea and Jãvea in general was our favourite place to stay in all of Spain. We went there originally for a few days to get away from the awful place I booked us into in Valencia. Ended up staying for 5 days, whilst still paying for Valencia, it was so glorious.

Review 102:Nothing.

Review 103:Hotel javea is a lovely little hotel. The rooms are small but comfortable and clean. Lovely, very helpful staff. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Javea for a few nights.

Review 104:Bathroom smelled a bit musty but otherwise the room was good. Staff had a strange policy of refusing to provide any information about local restaurants. We were directed off to a beach area five minutes drive away. This after indicating we wanted to eat near by. We also asked where a specific restaurant was located and got a strong impression it was closed and a refusal to call and check (no phone!). It turns out the restaurant was close by, open and excellent. We just happened to stumble upon it as we looked for one of the two restaurants the receptionist indicated might be open!!

Review 105:Excellent location near the center of town and right off the beach. Continental Breakfast was very good with cheese and ham and expresso drinks in a beautiful room overlooking the beach.

Review 106:Just two very tiny niggles: There was only one bedside table and one on each side of the bed would be useful for bedtime reading, glasses, etc. We moved a chair next to the bed to solve this. No hotel parking but we found it very easy to find on street free parking within a couple of minutes walk. As I say, very tiny niggles so don't let that put you off staying in this lovely hotel.

Review 107:The location is excellent, very close to the port. A few moments walk to shops and restaurants. Room 405 has a lovely balcony with views to the port and right across the bay of Javea. Very clean and well maintained. Lovely bathroom with plenty of towels. Lots of hot water. Highly recommended hotel. Only a two star but I think this must be because there is no pool, no room service and no 24 hour reception.

Review 108:Friendly staff and location. Good value for money. This is our second stay. Great sea view first time. Not such a good position this time but room very comfortable.

Review 109:Wifi wasn't available in the room but was fine in reception and restaurant.

Review 110:Cleanliness Food/restaurant Staff Locality Modern Value for money

Review 111:Breakfast could be available earlier. If you have a meeting at 9am or 9:30am you don't have time for breakfast in the hotel.

Review 112:Helpful and friendly staff.

Review 113:A bit noisy Had a problem with a drunken couple next door and the staff didn't seek us out to apologies

Review 114:Location room size and amenities staff friendliness

Review 115:Nothing - there are 4 cafés right by the hotel so there is noise from these but we liked the atmosphere they brought (and windows are double glazed so cut the noise right down)

Review 116:Very friendly, well decorated hotel with a fantastic location just back from the sea. Great views and terrific atmosphere.

Review 117:No natural light from our windows (room 106). We could not open our windows/curtains at night as the neighbouring rooms looked directly into ours and vice versa. Tv was poor quality and could have at least had sky news. For travellers Spanish only tv is restrictive.

Review 118:The only reservation I would have is the lack of toiletries provided with the room. No shower gel and the soap was stingy. Not the usual array of freebies you'd expect in a hotel of this quality. An easy thing to put right - or bring your own!

Review 119:Location, right opposite the harbour. Very comfortable room, with balcony and table and chairs. Friendly staff and wacky decor! The largest bed ever. We loved this hotel and would recommend it without hesitation to any couple visiting Javea. Don't think it would suit families though.

Review 120:No view from my bedroom- a single.Try and book a room at the front. No shelf or basket in shower for shampoo, shower gel etc. One night a lot of loud talking at 4.0am.- which woke me up.

Review 121:very tasteful decor, newly refurbished to an extremely high standard. I am tempted to get similar wood flooring for my home! delicious dinner in the Attico restaurant with fantastic far reaching views.

Review 122:"the room was small but we didn't travel all the way from Canada to hang out in the room" - Paul McGrath the first

Review 123:Had a great time in this hotel, the location was unreal. The room was small but we didn't travel all the way from Canada to hang out in the room, and i believe bigger rooms with better views are available. Had breakfast on our first morning and the view from upstairs in phenomenal. Nicest coffee i had the whole time i was there. The lift works and the beers were cold. Great value for money and would certainly return.

Review 124:From day one we found that the room was not cleaned properly. Our room was situated at the back of the hotel, the only view that we had was, looking straight into other rooms. We were constantly woken and kept awake by noise from the kitchens and other guests.

Review 125:The staff on reception were very helpful and friendly. The restaurant was very nice and food was good value.

Review 126:Some minor issues with the shower, took quite some time for warm water to come through. It would also be useful to have a shelf in the shower for toiletries etc. Hairdryer also a bit of a pain as you had to hold the button in, issue when you have long hair.

Review 127:Nice, stylish hotel in convenient location right across from the beach. Staff were very efficient, check in was hassle free and we received service with a smile. Our room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. Bathroom was spotless and toiletries provided. A good selection of reasonably priced restaurants nearby. Did not get chance to try roof top restaurant, but did take a look, lovely views of the bay. Maybe next time! We loved this hotel and will definitely visit again.

Review 128:The Vehicle & access to the hotel for unloading /reloading & parking is a major problem .As is access for anyone with any walking disabilities

Review 129:The location fantastic, with easy access to all local amenities, and the overall decor very tasteful .But the crowning Jewel was the hotels own Roof top Restaurant ,the splendid views over the Bay being surpassed by the quality of the Food, prepared and presented by an Excellent Talented Chef

Review 130:Noise from Kitchen down central well can be annoying and I would suggest that guests try to obtain rooms at the front of the hotel on floors three or four

Review 131:Situation of hotel. Food in the restaurant was very good and the view across the bay is outstanding

Review 132:There is nothing not too dislike, a few criticisms or pointers - the breakfast , superb location, could be a bit more varied for the money, you don't have to go far for choice. Not that you go on holiday to watch television, but access to one English news channel would be nice. The shower could have been a little bit hotter, but it was not cold. No complaints.

Review 133:The hotels location in the port area, there is a car part 2 minutes away. The reception area is nice and modern, staff were friendly. The restaurant on the 5th floor gives you an awesome view of Javea . Value for money the hotel Javea wins hands down.

Review 134:Drains were a bit smelly in the bathroom.

Review 135:Cleanliness of the room was good, looks like its had a recent refurbish. Very comfortable and in a good location, handy for restuarants and right on the coast. Had a beautiful sea view. Was at the front of the hotel and could hear restuarant chatter at night which didn't bother me, but with window shut and air con on I didn't hear the noise outside. Staff were very helpful and professional. Will definately stay again.
