Reviews for Alojamiento Rural la Caseria de Piedra Restaurante
Review 1:Wonderful situation, extremely kind and helpful owner combined with excellent food made this one of our best stopovers ever. thoroughly recommend this.
Review 2:Difficult to locate, but our Google map came through.
Review 3:Great mountain views, parking on site, large room, and upscale dining menu. Owner made sure we had the best samples of regional food and wine. Gave very good directions for touring Jaen the next day.
Review 4:The owners were really lovely people who could not do enough for us.Jose was very knowledgeable about the area and especially olive oil and served us a very good evening meal.
Review 5:It was about 10 minutes from the centre of Jaen in a rural situation, but this made it very peaceful.
Review 6:An interesting and unique property with very friendly owner.
Review 7:We absolutely loved everything. I would recommend it to everyone who likes quality, tranquility and Andalusian country feel.
Review 8:I loved the location (in the beatiful sierra yet close to the city of Jaen and surrounding villages) the generous room size, the comfort of the bed, the views from the room's own veranda, the tranquillity of the place, the lovely country scents, the strong wifi in the rooms, the air con and last but not least the property owners, Susana and Jose, wonderful hosts that made us feel like at home.
Review 9:Five rooms and a country restaurant, a few km outside Jaen run by a couple who could not have been more helpful. Wonderful, rustic food from local ingredients in a pretty setting, attractively and imaginatively decorated. A beer under the walnut tree on a scorching June afternoon couldn't be beat.
Review 10:A bit enthusiastic cleaning of the room with our luggage and items changing places. But good to keep rooms clean than not at all.
Review 11:The views are really great, owners gave gladly information about the surroundings and gave a good tip about a fiesta that was celebrated in Jaen. Free private parking.
Review 12:Room rate and restaurant are over-priced. Breakfast is very basic, quantity and quality of bread and ham/cheese are not great, you can find better breakfast (price and quality) in Jaen.
Review 13:Helpfull staff, nice view from the room, free parking place, traditional renovated buildings
Review 14:You need a car to get here.
Review 15:Only stayed for one night, but rooms were warm (it was March) and the veranda would have been a great place if it'd been sunnier. The host was wonderful. We stayed for dinner and he provided local produce. The food was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Review 16:the generator broke down, after failing several times and being revived; the poor old dog was very aggressive, due to medical problems, but could frighten a nervous person
Review 17:this tiny private hotel is a little outside Jaen, on a crazy winding road; leave the town on A-6050, about 4km from the last roundabout, the hotel is on the left; the five rooms are decent-sized, spotlessly clean, well looked after, with free wifi; each has a small balcony, with a view as breathtaking as anywhere in the world; the restaurant is very clean, always ask what is today's specialwe were there on one of the worst days of winter, cold and extremely windy; they put an extra heater in our room, and we were cozy and warm; sadly, a young local man had died a day earlier in a hang-gliding accident, which had brought down power lines, temporarily repaired; our storm brought them down, so we lost power, at first intermittently, then completely - not just the hotel, but the whole are; we braved the weather for the 30-second walk to Reception, where the owner, Pepe, sat us by his log fire, gave us wine, olives, and almonds, while he argued with the power company; by 9.00pm he had light, and he rapidly rustled up a superb meal: his garlic soup is delicious, his smoked trout with potatoes in olive oil is gorgeous, but his walnuts poached in honey was stunning (and the local wine was excellent)you must talk to Pepe - he has worked around the world, done so much, and knows everything about Jaen; full of stories, and a genuinely nice man; a dark and quiet hotel could have been a disaster for us, but he made it righthis generator worked at first, but eventually gave up under pressure - he will replace itour room was warm when we returned, power (and therefore heating) was lost at midnight, returning at 8.00am; we were comfortable, and very happy therewe found the bill shocking; our stay - room, meal, wine, was little over €100 - far too little for the quality of the hotel and of the food (I don't know summer prices), certainly a fraction of what a soulless chain hotel would costthis was a fun place to stay, with a very civilised man at the helm - enjoy it
Review 18:Not so comfortable in winter and shower going hot and cold. Dinner definitely over-priced.
Review 19:The view was superb and I'm sure it would be a great place to stay in the summer.
Review 20:Nothing really but the place could do with an bit of external painting.
Review 21:A few minutes by car out of Jaen, the property is in the hills just off the main road, and enjoys spectacular and far reaching views over the countryside and to the town. Tables outside take advantage. Owners extremely pleasant and obliging, serving a good dinner from an interesting and varied menu.
Review 22:Cleanliness. Friendlyness - the owner, Jose, was extemely welcoming and helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble. He was full of interesting facts and information about the area in particular and Spain in general Some reviews said that it was difficult to find - it is easy with a Sat-Nav!!
