Reviews for Villa Escudier

Review 1:We had a large family room opening onto the garden which was fine, the only thing that put us off initially was a strong smell of dogs and a rather dirty ill-fitting carpet. However, the management opened the windows and sprayed the room and the smell had completely dissipated by the time we returned late that evening.

Review 2:The hotel has secure parking and is in a very good location if you are driving and need to depart onwards to the channel ports in Normandy, because you can drive straight from the hotel onto the motorway without getting caught up in the Paris traffic or the peripherique. The hotel is just a couple of minutes walk from the metro (line 10) which takes you directly to the Eiffel Tower and St Germain area without changing.

Review 3:One dodgy meal at a very local café but our host said if I'd asked she wouldn't have said to go there. She was so helpful all holiday - we should have checked with her first.

Review 4:Very close to Roland Garros and an easy tube away from all Metro and RER connections. Nipped in and out of all the sites really easily. Shops, bars, cafes and restaurants all very nearby. Room and gardens were beautiful. Lovely place to stay. Superb staff - really great !! Brilliant.

Review 5:I had a small room with a kitchenette. Sadly there was no lounge chair which the room needed. Considering the location is close to Roland Garros and prices inflated during the French Open fortnight because of, sports channels Eurosport 1 and 2 would have been appreciated.

Review 6:The staff were courteous and informative and helpful. The garden was lovely and available to all guests not only those with rooms having the benefit of garden views.

Review 7:Everything was great.

Review 8:The apartment was ideal and gave onto the lovely rose garden. Quiet, great breakfast, walking distance to French Open. Just great. And parking too!

Review 9:When we booked 4 months in advance the advertisement advised there was a lift which was quite crucial. However, on arrival we were given the attic room which meant 3 floors of very steep, narrow stairs which was very difficult when you have knee and ankle problems. Bed not very comfortable, kitchen and bathroom both very tiny.

Review 10:The property is close to Roland Garros, Metro station and plenty of restaurants and gourmet food shops. I would definitely stay here again but would check that I had a room with lift access. The gardens are gorgeous and the staff very helpful.

Review 11:No English TV - we were 11 males requested all single beds didn't get any after over 2 hours of complaining we agreed to 5 rooms (we should have had 6) some still slept in double beds I await someone to contact me about this we were still charged more than our original price quoted

Review 12:Location was good we wanted to be close to the PSG stadium because we were attending the match vs Chelsea the rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable

Review 13:Our daughter and son-in-law (and their two children) live a 20 minute walk away, so location was paramount. Comfortable room; excellent breakfast served on quality china; friendly!

Review 14:Why some guests have attitude Iam up everyone is up and have no consideration for other people. thankfully they left after first night

Review 15:We stayed in two connecting studios which both had kitchens. Neatly folded behind a false wall. Microwave.two ring electric hobs, kettles, toasters, and fridges.(Pans and all cutlery provided). If you are on a budget you could cook meals no problem here. Then still see Paris itself. We liked to go out and eat with all the locals and enjoy the atmosphere. Bathrooms have all the usual extras and a hair dryer etc. Lovely little garden to sit and have breakfast before you hit Paris. Metro station handy in walking distance just ask for a metro pass for the duration of your stay which is not expensive. There are shops and markets etc really handy next to hotel also where locals shop.. When I return to Paris I will be staying here for sure.

Review 16:Lovely garden setting hidden away but close to a lively and interesting local shopping street. Close to Metro. Room was spacious, bathroom good, and kitchenette well equipt for its size. Staff friendly and welcoming. Interesting to see a part of Paris just outside the main tourist area.

Review 17:Pity that not quite enough chairs for us all to sit at the table.

Review 18:Staff helpful and friendly although small appartment for 6 kitchen was neatly arranged.Great bathroom.

Review 19:Very warm, no airco. A bit out dated hotel. Relatively expensive. Small and unhandy showering in bath.

Review 20:Well located, close to the metro. Nice garden. Free public parking in August & close to the hotel.

Review 21:Quiet place, nice garden to have breakfast/dinner. Good surrounding (cheese shop, bakery, food and other stores, local market). Very clean, comfortable rooms, good wifi. Helpfull staff.

Review 22:Staff was so helpful and it was a short walk to restaurants and market for groceries. Train station was nearby and we enjoying seeing all the sights. I cannot say enough good things about the staff!

Review 23:Family room a little squashy.

Review 24:Garden was magnificent. Gentleman working there was so helpful. We were given ideas about sightseeing and a map. Instructions on getting about. Not too far to the metro. Lots of good shops in a well located suburb. Daily room service. Kitchenette.

Review 25:Avoid room 14. Strange layout.

Review 26:Excellent room 34. Great layout and view from two windows facing two different directions.

Review 27:Friendly staff; great location for both Boulogne and Paris.

Review 28:expensive - because of location - Paris is expensive and breakfast is also expensive

Review 44:emplacement environnement parking prive service

Review 45:The proximity of the hotel to Roland Garros. The quiet location.

Review 46:the room is very clean, the garden is very nice. We enjoyed very much to have breakfast there. The staff is very helpful and even help to bring us cutleries and coffee. The owner is very kind and friendly. I will highly recommend this hotel.

Review 47:We went to Roland Garros for the French Open and the location of Villa Escudier is excellent; only a 5 minute walk away .. The room was very nice; very clean .. The gardens are very charming .. The manager was very nice and extremely helpfu .. Overall, an excellent value!

Review 48:Kitchen (in remote apartment -- 100m away from main building) equipmentwas ok (room for improvement compared to other places we've stayedthroughout France). The remote apartment was not as nice as the mainhotel, but the owner (Vera) wanted to be sure we knew how nice her mainhotel was compared to the space we were staying (we booked late and thiswas all that was left). We will return, but book in the main hotel. Themain hotel is very nice and service is great in all respects.

Review 49:We stayed in an apartment near the main facility (100m away) and were onthe 5th floor with a terrace (which was nice). However, I must clarifythat we didn't stay on the main premises that was very nice (I wasgiven a tour during our stay of the main building and they were reallybeautiful and we will book at another time). Location was great. Lots offamilies and children and schools so community was strong and very calmfor a town that was only 2 miles from the tourist area of Paris. Parkingwas convenient. The proprietor (Vera) was an absolute gem. She will doanything to make sure you are happy (we could ask for anything andwould, likely, be accommodated). There were a couple ofpatisserie/boulangeries no more than a few minutes walk from ourlocation, grocery stores, cheese store (beware that the older owner --Father -- of the cheese store. He is very grumpy and we, literally, putour items back on the shelf and walked out -- although we know hewouldn't care as he has a lot of business). This is also walkingdistance to the French Open tennis facility. There is a beautiful gardenwhere you can have breakfast, bring and drink wine, or just chat. Veryclose to the CdeGaule (30 minute drive max, even with traffic) which iswhy we booked at the end of our trip. Very easy drive to VersaillePalace. If you want a calm place to stay between Versaille Palace andtourist area Paris (straight shot on the bus from the hotel), then thisis a great place to stay.

Review 50:The stair way was a little tired

Review 51:The villa is beautiful, in lovely surroundings. The duplex we rented slept five of us very comfortably We had a very nice breakfast outside in the very pretty garden The staff were extremely helpful It was very peaceful We will definitely return

Review 52:None

Review 53:The staff was very helpful. Vera patiently helped me print my Roland Garros ticket. She is a very gracious host. The hotel is an oasis of comfort and serenity with its beautiful courtyard garden. It provided great respite from a long day of tennis watching. Its proximity to Roland Garros coupled with its safe surroundings make it a tennis traveler's haven.

Review 54:Lovely hotel with rose garden, 700m from Roland Garros. We had a newly refurbished garden apartment which was perfect - very clean and comfortable. All staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 55:1. Very comfortable to have a private parking when travelling to Paris 2. Nice garden gave us the feeling we were in a small village 3. Excellent breakfast delivered to our room Next visit to Paris we will stay here again!

Review 56:Very nice, clean hotel. Wifi has good speed. Has a small mini kitchen in a large cupboard space. In a reasonable area, near to local shops, plus metro only a few minutes away. We used this hotel for a game at PSG which is only 20 minutes walk away. we would stay here again

Review 57:A little gem. The hotel is located in a very peaceful area of Paris and offers easy access to the city centre. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the hotel accommodation excellent. I would strongly recommend this hotel for anybody choosing a city break or attending sports events at either the Parc De Princes or Roland Garros (which are a 5 min walk away).

Review 58:The reception is unoccupied for most of the time and we had to find staff at the time we wanted to check out.

Review 59:Its location, very calm with a garden and close to a Paris Metro station. Also fast Wifi is included.

Review 60:The payment process by credit card took a long time - I surmise becauseof a problem with the connection with the bank. But the receptionisttried her best with the bank and eventually it was sorted out fine.

Review 61:The very friendly and helpful staff, the excellent location (close tothe metro), easy parking in a closed garage nearby.

Review 62:Well out of town which won't suit any late night revelers, and does not have any fancy facilities. Breakfast a bit overpriced but we just made use of the local bakeries after the first day.

Review 63:Very pleasant courtyard setting surrounded by buildings made for a quiet stay. Small room but comfortable and the small self catering (kitchen in a cupboard!) setup was good for breakfasts and trying fine foods from the shops. Staff spoke enough English to communicate with my limited French and were always helpful and pleasant but unobtrusive. Great location for metro. Excellent free wifi.

Review 64:We loved the rose garden, the outdoor space which tends to be rare in a city setting. Breakfast was delicious and the family apartment was light, clean and comfortable.

Review 65:The hotel contacted us prior to our trip, this meant that we has a contact person with whom we could liaise. As it turned out our flight arrived early in the morning and our room was ready for us at 11am. Thank you for a wonderful time.

Review 66:We stayed in this hotel to visit Roland Garros and the location was perfect. It was just a 10min walk from the hotel to the Roland Garros grounds. Breakfast and accomodation were also very nice.

Review 67:the place cells as a villa but these are actually tiny rooms at high cost and the kitchen is in a closet

Review 75:pretty expensive, but what do you expect in paris...

Review 76:pretty yard, quite side road and still feels like right in the middle of town.

Review 77:Lovely welcome, great view from apartment, beautiful garden, peaceful area of Paris - great location.

Review 78:hard to find even though I was right outside

Review 79:breakfast on a tray in the room as standard for breakfast

Review 80:the breakfast is not really convenient.

Review 81:the villa is closer to work place and metro. Very much convenient if on business trip.

Review 82:Very nice décor in the junior suite. Not far from a metro. Nice Sunday market nearby where you can get crepes and galletes for 2-4 euros. Very good.

Review 83:Extremely friendly staff, super atmosphere – calm and green because of the wonderful garden, feeling like at home!
