Reviews for Hotel Condestable Iranzo

Review 1:It is a main street With a lot of noise in the rooms during daytime

Review 2:Perfect for a short stay in Jaen. Very centric. Nice breakfast, hotel clean and personal nice

Review 3:Dim lighting in the hallways and rather gloomy colour scheme made it even darker.

Review 4:Secure underground parking with direct access. Lovely bar/restaurant. Location, considering the size of Jaen, was very good

Review 5:Sign for car park hidden by trees hindered finding it and it was very tight and difficult for large car. TV in room had no programmes available in English

Review 6:Super Room and very helpful staff

Review 7:The hotel was excellent - high level at economy price. Central location - close to all amenities in Jaen. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The cafe/restaurant was also excellent for taps, snacks etc.

Review 8:For Jaen's extreme hot summers the AC was not working good enough. We changed rooms after the first day, but the other room was not much better... They need to invest in a better Air Conditioning system.

Review 9:Very nice hotel with friendly staff. The downstairs restaurant/cafe was great and convenient.

Review 10:The air conditioning in the bedrooms was not great. In reception howeverit was very cool and working well! This hotel was not easy to find andbecause of the one way system, we must have done three circuits of themain street to find it. The sign is not that visible when you aredriving. In the end we abandoned the car on the tram lines (not used) inthe middle of the road to go in and get the garage door open. The drivedown to the garage was so tight I was having kittens thinking I wouldscrape the lhs as I couldn't see how close the wall was. [We have aFord CMax, just so you can judge the width.] The drivers side I openedthe window and stuck my head out to see the side of the car and thewall. Once down it was ok and reasonably easy to park, a lift goes up toreception. So getting out the next day, the exit is the same as the entrance. The doors at the top go up and you cross the path to get onto the main road. Narrow steep exit, the path the wheels travel have metal rollers you have to travel along these (these are a little like a rolling road where they test the breaks for an MOT). So they made the wheels slip, which in turn stalled the car and put the abs breaks on. Then it was so tight I feared reversing in case I caught the wall., however there is no option as I needed a running start to get up. I must have attempted this half a dozen times, in the end I had to apply so much gas the smell of burning rubber was unbelievable. I also needed my husband at the top of the exit to stop pedestrians crossing as I shot out. This is not something I will be repeating!

Review 11:The hotel was in the center of Jaun. The staff were helpful even thoughthey did not speak much English and our Spanish was very limited. We hadan issue with the air conditioning and they moved us straight away toanother room (a bit better and certainly a nicer view but not the bestair con). If you don't have a car or it is small, this is a nicecentral place to stay and only 5-10 mins walk from the center with bars, restaurants and shops (which appear to close in the afternoon and re-open around 6pm). There is a bar and restaurant in the hotel (try thesteak) and the staff are friendly and helpful, however there are plentyof places to eat in the town if you venture out.

Review 12:No bad points at all.

Review 13:Great location, easy to find, free secure parking for the motorcycle, friendly staff and only a short walk to the centre of town.

Review 14:Rotten fruit at breakfast, the rest of breakfast average. Some daytime staff didn't speak any English.

Review 15:One helpful staff member 'Natcho'.

Review 16:Just to mention it is hilly and could restrict some people

Review 17:Hotel right in the centre close to all bars and restaurants. There was quite a lot to visit. Very Friendly and helpful staff. Onsite parking was useful.

Review 18:Renovation in progress. Very steep ramp down into basement parking

Review 43:Lack of WiFi a massive pain - one of the reasons for booking yet too many people > Fail!

Review 44:Allowed bikes in the room. On site cafe good value.

Review 45:buffet very poor, no visible selection

Review 46:Rather old installation for a 4 star hotel. Poor breakfast in the cafeteria, I.e. Coffee and a pastry or toast.

Review 49:Bit noisy at night

Review 50:terraza bar -pleasant setting and helpful friendly staff.

Review 51:Hotel confortable, style old fashion avec parking gardienné.

Review 52:We knew that there is a Disco in the hotel on Saturday nights but our Thursday night stay was ruined by the disco going on until 6.00 a.m. The whole hotel vibrates all night. I told the receptionist that I did not want to pay for the room that night and he agreed that a lot of people complain and that he would not charge us. I also rang reception at 4.15 a.m. to be told that the disco is very bad and there are lots of complaints !

Review 53:Friendly staff

Review 54:They turn the fuses off at the mains after someone leaves to save power without letting you know, so when I arrived I thought the power was out (which it was!) The water in the pipes was making strange noises all night long. The WiFi went out for 4 hours after I arrived, then would only work intermittently from thereon in.

Review 55:Staff are exceptionally apt. Receptionist's level of English superior to any that I have seen so far in my 10 years of travel throughout Spain. Very accommodating. Lots of information available about Jaén itself. Massages available to be had in your own room! Tapas bar was beautiful. Had takeout and the reception sent it up to my room. Room may have only been a single, but it still had all the splendor of a double. Warm and nice views. Nice décor. There was a bath in my single room.

Review 56:Unfriendly reception staff who only smiled when we paid the bill. Give Saturday night a miss; the on-site disco resonates throughout the hotel.

Review 57:Well situated. Good room; nice facilities. Pleasant restaurant.

Review 58:No information in the room about hotel facilities or even wherebreakfast was provided.

Review 59:Good sized room: modern and spotless with efficient and friendly staff,it is in the centre of town yards from bus station and a few minutesfrom the rail station.

Review 60:Young people drink in the park close the the hotel on Friday and Saturday nights, when it could get quite noisy.

Review 61:The hotel staff was very friendly and they made sure that we would get a double bed with views to the park, although the hotel was completely full during the weekend we stayed there. Very near to the center and all the facilities of the city.

Review 62:The breakfast was not up to what I was expecting in this category ofhotels. It was quite poor as far as the options that were available onthe buffet Unfortunately, except the very kind receptionists, at the barthe majority of the personnel was not speaking English

Review 63:The hotel is located in the city center and everything is considered tobe within walking distance. The rooms were clean and spacious with avery good value for money. Free wi-fi was also available. Therestaurant/bar had very good food at reasonable prices.Receptionists were very helpful and friendly

Review 64:The services in "The Terraza". I have been observed a greatdistance between quality service of waiters. In my first night, thewaiters show me the menu in spanish and english. The count coming witherror, but the problem was quickly solved. But, in a scenario in otherextreme, my last presence in The Terraze the waiter service areterrible!!! I asking about the english menu, but the 2 waiters tell methat english menu don't exist! After some minutes, the "seniorwaiter" bring to me the english menu.
