Reviews for Kesähotelli Rentukka

Review 1:No mugs in the room (for a tea during the day, for example). No internet in the room (but that's alright !)

Review 2:The restaurant for breakfast was really nice ! And the concept of renting student room is original. Towels, soap and shampoo are provided :)

Review 3:If I would wish something it is to have the Bar Rentukka open also evenings in summer, at least a small terrace pub outside the restaurant building (as there was some years ago). And maybe some kitchenware for rooms.

Review 4:Nice and helpful staff, good breakfast and excellent bus connections to the centre. Well, I have been living there when studying about five years so I know exactly what to expect mand so there is also nostalgy for me.

Review 5:Very, very,*very* expensive for what you get, which is essentially a bare room in an unpleasant neighborhood, remote from the town centre. No Internet. No cooking utensils. Reception only open for short period. Little furniture. Thin curtains. Little ventilation. Astonishingly, this was literally the last non-luxury accommodation in Jyvaskyla, and subsequently also booked out. Given a choice I'd prefer to leave Jyvaskyla rather than stay there again.

Review 6:Clean. Only rooms left in town.

Review 7:Our room was basically a student's accommodation converted to a hotel room for the summer. The facilities provided are quite poor for the prices charged. The kitchenette was useless as the hotel did not provide pans or cutlery.

Review 8:+ The area around the hotel was quiet at night + The breakfast was good

Review 9:The room was really simple, more like a hostel but with own toilet. The furniture is very old. Remember to bring own shampoo. Not enough parking space near the buildings but you can park on some public spots.

Review 10:Quiet during the night, cheap compared to other options, the bed was clean and comfortable

Review 11:The breakfast time is very short, only from 7 to 9. So you have to get up early. More important, there is no Wifi in the room. Only in the reception, where is no table to put your laptop.

Review 12:The staff is very nice, patient and helpful

Review 13:A bit overpriced for something that is essentially a student residence. I kind of felt like I was taking over someone´s private room. The bathroom of the restaurant where breakfast is had was filthy. I agree with a reviewer that the room could have cutlery.

Review 14:Breakfast had a large selection. Good location, a bit far from the city center if you are walking, otherwise OK. Very green scenario around, as in all of Jyvaskyla, in the middle of the forest. Helpful staff

Review 15:A student dorm room in a Sovjet like complex with Teo singel beds and curtains, no carpets or anything additional does not fullfill the requirements of a hotel- and is defenetely not wort the money. Sure clean and safe neighbourhood, professional staff but come on! Half or a third of the price would have been fair.

Review 16:Disgusting, covered with graffiti, restrooms in the breakfast area had basins for vomiting. I cannot believe they charged 75 euros a night for this squalor.

Review 17:Leaving the place

Review 18:The place was advertised as having a kitchenette, and there was a stove and sink, however this was completely unusable as there were no pots or pans, no cutlery, plates or cups, and not even a kettle. Clearly a traveller cannot be carrying a cooking pot with them! This was especially disappointing, as being out of the town, it was not practical to be staying there and need to be in town for all your meals. In addition there was no internet, which seemed ridiculous as there were plenty of university wifi systems, which they could have negotiated use of for the guests.

Review 19:the heat in the room due to lack of AC, as well as parking can be a bit tricky!

Review 20:centre to city as well as budget price clean and nice continental breakfast

Review 21:No air conditioning, no cleaning, dirty walls, dirty elevator, no showergel (bring your own or buy in the shop), poor quality breakfast, carparking overbooked, long walking distance. At price it cost during Neste Oil Rally not worth it AT ALL!

Review 22:Our room was on the top floor of a set of flats. Really hot at night and was difficult to sleep. Only a problem for one night as it was an unusually hot day for Finland. Going to the lake helped though.

Review 23:Really nice place, about 20min walk from the centre. Usually we got the bus (number 18) in the morning and walked back in the eve. There is a nearby lake that is very nice. Must go for a dip if you get a chance.

Review 24:- Price is way too high - No fresh towels - Room temparature too high - The curtains are too light, so in the summer you can't get your room dark

Review 25:- Enough place to park if you are in a building at the front - Oven works nice to bake bread - Breakfast was ok

Review 26:No elevator, not practical if you have luggage. Service is minimal and early closing reception

Review 27:Room ok and location fine. Clean and relatively comfortable for a brief stay

Review 28:This is a university dormitory which is available for accommodation during the summer time. My girlfriend was studying and living there during her studies. Unfortunately, the room we got was the worst she has ever seen there. Maybe because there has been some wing under reconstruction, but this was really under our expectations and much poorer in comparison to other similar facilities provided by other universities during summer or hostels in Finland. For emergency overnight stay only.

Review 29:Bring your own soap.

Review 30:The poor value-for-money was due to prices being maxed out all over with the city fully booked. Otherwise an ok place to sleep, if a bit of a walk from centre.

Review 31:Location isn't great for people without a car

Review 32:Nice staff, really helpful

Review 33:Breakfast was awful. Bread was hard like stone, juices were rotten. No TV inthe room. Very bad and poor hotel. NOT reccommend.

Review 34:Only for students. Low standards

Review 35:Nothing

Review 36:TV

Review 37:pysäköinti

Review 38:-No internet -breakfast not included in price -only 1 towel (neverreplaced) -reception closes at 22.00 - problem if you arrive laterSince there is a whole kitchen in the room, at least one pot, one plate, one glass, one fork/knife/spoon should have been included. One who travels for business cannot carry or buy new cutlery. Taken into account all the above, 50 euros per day is a bit expensive. pot

Review 39:The room was big, comfortable and clean

Review 40:away from the city centre

Review 41:cleanliness

Review 42:it was a cross between a jailhouse and dormitory

Review 43:nothing

Review 44:Poor quite awfull room. Only for sleeping. Good choise if you have activities and no time to spend in hotel.

Review 45:rooms are extremely hot

Review 46:location

Review 47:price is too high

Review 48:cozy hotel, silent locality, staff of ready sympathy, friendly people
