Reviews for Hotel Carmin

Review 1:Location, parking right at the front door, good value breakfast and the two guys who run the hotel are amazing. They spent heaps of time with us helping us planning our route for the next days journey. They told us where to head to for a lovely dinner and where to shop - they couldn't have been more helpful/ friendly. the hotel is pretty basic but its clean and tidy and i would most definitely stay there again.

Review 2:The hotel was an older building that had been very nicely renovated, it kept its older charm whilst being modernized and made very comfortable. The rooms were well appointed, functional, modern and clean. The ensuite bath was modern and well renovated. Breakfast was served the next morning for, I think, 10 Euros, it was very good and extremely convenient to not have to go searching for a breakfast location. The 2 proprietors were delightful gentlemen. They guided us well to dinner the night we arrived and were most helpful with suggestions for locations to visit on the Normandy beaches and beyond. Parking, while initially a concern, proved to be easy, with free spots located on the street directly in front of the hotel. All in all, I would highly recommend Hotel Carmin as a well priced, comfortable and clean accommodation.

Review 3:none

Review 4:The staff were very pleasant, and very helpful. The location was ideal close to all different types of transport. The Trams were a god send. and cheap way to see Le Harve very enjoyable. Found some good places to eat which was in walking distance. Overall a nice place to stay.

Review 5:No complaints.

Review 6:The guys who run/own this hotel are so welcoming & friendly. Nothing was a problem for them. It's in a great location. Easy drive to nearby Honfluer.

Review 7:Nothing- except having to leave.

Review 8:Made to feel so welcome! Owners couldn't have been more helpful. Both rooms were stylish, modern and extremely comfortable with excellent en suites. Lovely breakfast- excellent choice!

Review 9:The hosts were delightful! Charming, friendly, good sense of humour and interesting to talk to-- Powhatan more can you ask for? They allowed us to store our bikes inside the hotel too. Nicely decorated lobby and rooms with attention to details e.g., flowers in lobby, tea kettle in the room, and good lighting in the bathroom. Excellent bed; double windows, no noise. I highly recommend this hotel.

Review 10:Told by one staff member how lucky we were that he spoke English. Smoking in room opposite, towel placed across door threshold. Asked to move room but told hotel was full. Staff on Sunday were much better.

Review 11:Very clean comfortable bed.

Review 12:Had to call for late check-in on Friday night (I think beginning of the weekend check-in time should be at least until midnight).

Review 13:Service, friendly staff that really is invested in running the hotel well. Clean. Good internet. Details that are aimed at traveler (napkin with a nice map of Normandy with suggestions for places to visit).

Review 14:Small rooms, but clean.

Review 15:Receptionist was very accommodating and eager to help us. Have us a very nice recommendation of the restaurant "le Taverne" a block away, which I recommend. Good beer, wine, food and atmosphere.

Review 16:Excellent staff. Very friendly, welcoming and go out of their way to accommodate your requests. Superb central location, yet quiet and easy and cheap parking in the Green zone. Now we have found it it will be our hotel of preference in Havre.

Review 36:Good Breakfast quality food and drinks. Staff spoke English

Review 37:Warm welcome, attention to details, good breakfast for a reasonnable price, truly a good value.

Review 38:Was not clear that breakfast was going to be charged if reserved but didn't have it, had to insist to be taken off the bill.

Review 39:Good value and clean

Review 40:Very central location, friendly staff who are happy to give you travel tips.

Review 41:very helpful and sent us in the correct direction for "our priced" restaurants. Provided information for Paris which was our next stop

Review 42:Location was very central The management greeted me and informed me that I had been upgraded at no cost. The room was spacious & very clean & the optional breakfast was reasonably priced. I would return without hesitation.

Review 43:I stayed on the night of 10th,May, but two days later, I got one mail from this hotel, they told me they found a wide flood has been stated on the carpet of the room and no leaks have been repoted by the maintenance. and they have been invoiced on my credit card. as the bedroom could not be rent for 2 days. it's a big surprise to me, to be honest, when I left, I didn't notice the flood they mentioned. So I asked for a picture to show the flood to me. but they said a picture can't show the surface damaged.I really can't accept this explanation. my feeling is very bad, like was robbed. I have stayed in Netherlands for few years. this is the 1st stupid experience. I will never stay this hotel in future.

Review 44:The personal service was excellent. They made us feel very welcome, gave us a map of the area with recommendations of what we should see and supplied an excellent breakfast.

Review 45:Our stay at the Carmin was very good. The host was excellent, friendly, cheerful and most helpful with the local knowledge. I highly recommend this hotel, it has good value for the money. The rooms are large, quiet and very clean. A perfect stay for me.

Review 46:They could really do wit ha proper coffee machine for breakfast as the current one is really bad, otherwise the breakfast was super nice.

Review 47:Very nice rooms - nothing luxurious but very clean and nicely done, bed is comfy. Staff is very friendly - really family feel.

Review 48:Internet a little slow

Review 49:Staff were excellent and very helpful. Gave directions, arranged transportation. Property was very clean. Would stay there again.

Review 50:colour scheme - grey but didn't really matter

Review 51:the staff were very helpful; the breakfast excellent, the room well appointed and spotlessly clean, quiet at night

Review 52:Didn't find Le Havre a great city. Fair walk from hotel to promenade.

Review 53:The staff were particularly friendly and helpful with good sense of humour. Nice room with space and pleasant bathroom. Easy to find parking nearby once we had our bearings. Some lovely places nearby.

Review 54:It is not a problem of the hotel just want to mentioned it, the city isnot so nice but you can go to Etretat (really nice cliffs with the stonebeach). If you want to travel to Honfleur, Deauville and so one – placeswhere you have to take the bridge “Pont du Normandie” – you have to bearin mind that it will cost you 10.60 eur per day to drive this bridge. The parking is not provided by the hotel but it is not a big deal topark for the half of the day 2 eur (till 9:00 A.M., during the lunch andfrom 7:00 P.M. is for free). For us it was not a problem but just togive you right impression of the hotel, the bathroom is not the new onebut is clean and you do not miss anything there. The windows are notpossible to close completely, for us not a problem was too hot for us sowe keep it open.

Review 55:The hotel stuff was really really friendly and nice, they even waitedfor us till 10:35 P.M. although they are closing reception at 10.00 P.M.They even gave us tips what we should see late in the evening. The hotelis already older but it is clean and the room are big enough. It islocated directly in the city, even though the hotel is not providing theparking it is not a big deal to park nearby and the hotel stuff hasexplained us how we could park at the best price, so they really careabout the clients. The last night we went to Jean Luc Tartarin (we weretold that has 2 Michelin Stars) and food and wine was really worth ofthe money – one of our nicest experience ever.

Review 56:There was a little anxiety about car-parking, but this was easily sorted out and is common in such conveniently located city hotels.

Review 57:The staff were most helpful, tailoring their suggestions to each guest's needs and could not be faulted for their friendly, humerous style, with genuine concern to make your stay in Le Havre as enjoyable as possible.

Review 58:Came from south of France to see leseuer exhibition in museum as advertised on webpage but found closed for two years ......sorry Not fault of hotel of course and they were very helpful

Review 59:Great owners very helpful Good location and immaculate and very comfortable Reason we came to le havre was to see Australian drawings by leseuer in museum natural history

Review 60:That we had to leave and that I can't go there again soon.

Review 61:The two men who own the hotel are so neat! They are funny and caring. They run. a great business but are very concerned that their guests are comfortable. They provided us with an excellent taxi driver to take us to Normandy beaches. My sister said"you can't put a price on that day" and that we would never view those war fronts in the same way. Forgot to tell you that the breakfast was exceptional! Would return for the croissants!

Review 62:Jean-Pierre and Thierry were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We arrived before check-in and they stored our luggage while we toured the city. When we returned, the luggage had been placed in our room. The room was quite comfortable. We'll definitely book the hotel again if we ever return to Le Havre.

Review 63:The people who run the hotel are really helpful - upgraded me to a nicer room as I had been before! Always made to feel welcome, and it is perfectly situated for the town centre

Review 64:Absolutely fabulous organisation of everything... From the ability to keep everything in one 'casier' in the room to all the magazines and brochures in the lobby. Plus, The breakfast food was delightful! Service was well above average, if not excellent and the entire hotel was spotless and tastefully decorated.

Review 65:Tricky windows that wouldn't close completely. We didn't like the city but that's of course not the fault of the hotel...

Review 66:The friendliest staff on earth! Nice location with many shops, a park and the beach in walking distance.

Review 67:No parking at hotel, and needed to use parking bays around the corner -not too complicated, but needed to be careful.

Review 68:Good basic hotel - no frills - but owners extremely helpful andconsiderate. Situated near Hotel de Ville, and all major shopping areas.15 minutes walk to the beach and marina. Owners speak very good English.Breakfast only at the hotel, but many eating places nearby.
