Reviews for Hotel Le Manoir des Ducs
Review 1:The absence of staff, of other guests. The breakfast room as atrocious. No help with bags. Really, no infrastructure.
Review 2:The faded grandeur. The one member of staff that we saw was willing and kind.
Review 3:Too dark in the room. Stayed in a Suite but the toilet is separated from bathroom and no sink to wash Hands in the toilet. Broken tiles in the bathroom. Bath has lots of cracks. Lack of French charm in our room.
Review 4:A beautiful building with history. Friendly staff. Location is a good.
Review 5:Needs a little tidy up outside. Didn't find anywhere to sit in the sun. A bit dark inside.
Review 6:This is a very quirky hotel with the reception and rooms on the first floor. The restaurant which seems unconnected to the Hotel on the ground floor. Clean comfortable room and bed. Helpful staff.
Review 7:I was disappointed to see signs of lack of repair (leakey faucets - leaking a lot of hot water, shower drains slow, water damage to walls. - none of this was major, and I would stay again but it does downgrade the experience a bit. The Wi-Fi was slow, and the hotel really needs a computer with printer for guests (e.g. to book further travel plans)
Review 8:Beautiful manor, located across from a park, walking distance to downtown Epinal. I returned with my kids because I stayed there once before and was very pleased.
Review 9:This is a Michelin star restaurant with rooms and nobody said when I booked the restaurant would be closed for annual refub. Other restaurants were quite a walk away and if I had known I would have booked a better value hotel on the town centre. Very poor management to let this happen, or perhaps they just didn't care because I come from Britain.
Review 10:The Hotel reception itself is very dark and unwelcoming. Rooms were fine but a little old fashioned. Young reception staff were very casual. We got the impression that the rooms are really for people who have come to the restaurant and cannot drive home! Epinal old town was being excavated (July 2014) and was a nightmare. Not the Hotel fault, of course, but didn't make for a pleasant stroll about.
Review 11:Hotel location is quiet and just away from town centre. Parking easy and free. The 'associated' restaurant is awesome! It isn't cheap but there are very good reasons for that. The food was magnificent and superbly presented. Staff couldn't be more helpful.... very necessary as the menu is in French only.
Review 12:No nothing comes to mind, just that we should of stayed longer.
Review 13:We like the style and feel of the hotel and room. A liked the fact there was a superb restaurant below where we had an amazing meal and evening.
Review 14:family room had ridiculously low beams to hit your head on
Review 15:beautiful surroundings, lovely hotel
Review 16:Good breakfast let down by poor croissants!
Review 17:Big room, quirky decor, great restaurant downstairs. Staff very helpful in forwarding item left behind.
Review 18:Breakfast is a bit too self-serve but not a major issue for a business user
Review 19:Rooms are excellent - well decorated, big and very comfortable
Review 20:Atmosphere
Review 21:The building was very grand and our room was African themed and was large and sumptous. An easy walk into town and plenty of safe parking.
Review 22:No Hotel Bar, Restaurant is approximately €250 for dinner for two including house wine
Review 23:Decor
Review 24:This property and staff have the potential to do great damage to the reputation of Booking.com. While the bedroom facilities were clean and acceptable, nothing else was; the property displayed an acute absence of customer care!
Review 25:Nothing!
Review 26:Lighting needs some improvement. We had difficulty putting the key in the door lock as it was so dark.
Review 27:Lovely building, with antique furniture and paintings. All quite luxurious. Lovely big bath. Easy parking on hotel grounds. Nice hotel breakfast.
Review 28:The fact that I couldn't spend more days there!
Review 29:Amazing Hotel. One of the best ever I've been hosted, due to its unique old-style architecture in a well maintained building, while keeping a nostalgic atmosphere with its antique furniture. Highly recommend, instead of all boring standardized hotel franchises.
Review 30:Shame that the maintenance of this charming Hotel is not as good as it should It has real charm
Review 31:Interesting and in its own way a charming Hotel with unique decor
Review 32:This old manoir still needs some repairs to be made.
Review 33:Nice roomy place , two large windows with view on gardens. Good and tasty breakfast . Pleasant and helpfull people.
Review 34:The hotel was quite unique and resembled a manor rather than an hotel. Very close to the centre of Epinal and convenient and within walking distance all requirements.
Review 35:Beautful styled and presented Hotel and personalized room. Very friendly and communicative staff. Excellent Breakfast alternatives. Wonderful evening Restaurant on site with quality food and service.
Review 36:The room was dark due to the decoration but plenty of character.
Review 37:Lots of character, location good, parking good. Very good value for money. Good bathroom with a large bath.
Review 38:Gloomy aspect from outside (some windows were shuttered over) and thereception area upstairs was dark with an ill-fitting carpet. Breakfastwas over-priced at 15 Euros. The attempt at being in the luxury bracketdidn't quite come off but - as it was August the hotel was about to takea holiday and the restuarant was shut, which gave the whole place arather deserted feeling. We felt it needed some repairs - taps on thebath weren't securely fixed, the clothes cupboard was rather tatty andhad no door and the curtains trailed on the floor.
Review 39:Convenient and trying to be a little different. Parking was easy andsecure. The room was clean and pleasant.
Review 40:The utilities are a bit old and need renovation; although for us ingeneral totally acceptable in view of the whole setting. Breakfast is abit disappointing. Would stay again.
Review 41:Big rooms. The ancient atmosphere and decoration of the hotel.Having a lunch or dinner in the restaurant is a must and the bestpart of the town.
Review 42:Hotel Le Manoir was a surprise to us, but a pleasant one. Entering onthe ground floor you are redirected to the first floor for reception. The ground floor, as we later found out, is a top class restaurant whichis run separately from the hotel and is a marvellous place to treatyourself to the finest meal you could wish for....it does not comecheap, but as a special treat your money is not wasted. The hotel roomwas 'different' but quite spacious with table and chair, settee andlarge bed. Being in the attic the beam could be a problem to somevisitors! There was a spacious bathroom. The breakfast room is in the'bowels' of the building but beautifully planned and lots of choices foryour morning meal. It is within easy walking distance of the townthrough a nearby open park area by the river. A very pleasant stay in avery old and intriguing old mansion. Oh, and very easy parking.
Review 43:Part of a lovely family home in a pleasant suburb of Arras. Extensive, excellent accomodation and a very friendly and helpful host.
Review 44:I do not want to criticize so much but I do not think that the hotelis still worth 4*. In 2008 - a sign said -, it was given the 4* but upto now the rooms have not been maintained enough. The furniture isquite old, the paint is sometimes crumbling away from the walls.Everything was comfortable but old. The price for the breakfast (15 €)is far too high even if everything we needed was there. Anotherdisadvantage: When you stay in a room towards the main street in frontof the hotel, you can hear the noise from the street all night longeven with the window closed! All in all we had a great stay in Epinal but outward appearance and expected inner values of the hotel do not really match.
Review 45:The hotel lies in the city centre not far from shopping centres and fromthe station. The river Mosel can be seen from some of the hotel rooms. There is a parc quite close to it. The staff was very helpful andgentle. They even spoke a little bit of German. The bed was big enough, and bathroom and toilet were seperated. We had everything we needed!
Review 46:Having coffee in the rooms would have been nice
Review 47:Lovely staff My room was very chic The hotel is old but very well designed & Taken care of Having a balcony of my own was nice also
Review 48:Breakfast and breakfast room was poor. Particularly at 15 euros each
Review 49:Nice linens and bathroom
Review 50:OK its a Manoir but why so dark and ill illuminated? We were the only people left at that house over the night ! Fun for kids who seek ghosts
Review 51:The design and comfort of the room.Style of the hotel and it's artworks.Convenience to the city centre and other facilities.
Review 52:The lightening in the rooms
Review 53:The food was excellent
Review 54:Shower had broken attachments
Review 55:Bedroom was good, as was breakfast
Review 56:A little bit old fashioned, thick carpets, etc. Room was too much heated
Review 57:Romantic hotel, nice restaurant downstairs
Review 58:old style
Review 59:Friendliness of staff on arrival and at checkout ~ superb hotel in close proximity to town centre ~ if you want a wow, then stay here.
Review 60:Bizarre that the restaurant was closed for a month for theholiday season !!
Review 61:Quirky and interesting venue.
Review 62:Great value for money. Comfortable and spacious room, nice bathroom, nice towels, good parking arrangemnts,
