Review 1：when I first went there directly and asked for a room for the price I had seen on booking.com, the receptionist declared those cheaper rooms were sold out. So I did not take a room but went to a wifi cafe instead, just to find out, unsurprisingly, that I could still book their more affordable room online. Not a good way to make a guest feel welcome... (had good experiences there with other receptionists, though) Concerning the room: not recommendable if the view & light are important to you, just concrete walls outside the window. (as the big roof terrace can be used as a balcony replacement to some degree, it was ok for me).
Review 2：extremely convenient location, nice city view from the roof terrace where the breakfast is served (the roof terrace was also good for chilling out in the evening). If you're used to buffet breakfasts, this one might be too small and simple for you. I personally liked it, though (nice coffee!).
Review 3：No mechanical ventilation. All sorts of activities could be heard from the other rooms ("interior" rooms). Interior room: very dark.

Review 5：No Wifi in the room but only in the rooftop breakfast place. It takes time to get hot water from the shower. Noise and can hear clearly when other guests passing by in the aisled. They close the hotel door at 10pm, not feel comfortable to shout and ask to open door. Receptionists don't speak English well. No parking place, the hotel locates on pedestrian street.

Review 7：The hotel has very thin walls or doors. It was very noisy from neighbors and people in the hallway. Also the pipes was very noisy with a loud tone when the neighbor used water - in the early morning :-( The room is very dark and dificult to get any fresh air when you have a room to the yard.
Review 8：The breakfast was good and the woman serving the breakfast was excellent :-). The very central location is perfect for walking distance to everything. It said the wifi is only in the terrace but it was working in my room in 6th floor :-)
Review 9：Good value for money and very well situated hotel on the Calle Castillo mall in central Santa Cruz. Breakfast is served on the top floor with a view of the city and the sea. The Staff is forthcoming and helpful; cleaning is good. I stayed for over one month and will stay again if I come back to Santa Cruz. Most things in the city are within walking distance if you stay at this hotel.
Review 10：Noisy! You hear everything from the corridor and outside and the adjacent rooms. Light from the corridor is visible through and under door frame in the room. Annoying pigeons on the breakfast terrace. The breakfast was same everyday and is served, no buffet - it was not sufficient for me. It takes ages until hot water starts pouring in the bathroom. BTW the shower head was damaged and one could easily cut his hand accidentaly. Boiler made LOUD whistling in the middle of the night. Don't get me wrong - I sleep about 30 nights per year in mountains and woods in the open air so I'm not sissy at all, but when I do stay in a hotel, I want it to be calm at least.

Review 12：Extremely noisy in early mornings. Stayed at the 7th floor and were woken up at 5.30am by the noise of garbage carts and street cleaners every single day of our one-week stay. WiFi is available on the restaurant terrace on the 8th floor only. The worst was no parking places for hotel guests. Parking in downtown Santa Cruz is more difficult than in NYC during peak hours.

Review 32：I often have to go to Santa Cruz for business reseating, I usually stay for 3 nights as the hotel is so central, I.e for transport and shops. The staff are always helpful, and the lady at breakfast is always obliging, the breakfast area is on roof terrace with nice views. For the price this is an excellent hotel.

Review 46：The staff in the evening is poor in English. The carpet in the wardrobe was very very smelly. We have to go to reception in the evening for another carpet. The towels are old as well. The bed sheet is too small, not able to cover the mattress properly. It always shifts during the evening.

We can even watch firework on Christmas evening from our window. This makes it very noisy in the night, with endless people walking through. If you are sensitive to sound in the evening, please consider another hotel. The balcony is nice, with good wifi. The breakfast is served to your desk on the balcony. The room is cleaned daily and towels are changed.

Staff is very nice, rooms are nice and clean,they have tv and refrigerator,you can go to sleep whenever you want to because it is very dark in the rooms (ideal for passionate couples :-), breakfast was great,lady that served breakfast was very nice,the view from the terrace was beautifull,it had elevator,check out is very simple,location is in the centre of the city with shopping stores,restaurants and pastries,good value for money,wifi is on the terrace(but the terrace is really nice)

Review 108：Very simple rooms with no sunshine entering to the room, you have to switch on the lights during the day as well. Wifi works only in a small part of the terrace. The breakfast is not too big and the same stuff every day. The recepcionist couldn't answer my simliest questions and sometimes what she had said turned out to be wrong.
Review 109：Our room was very dark, with window only to inner shaft. The shaft is too small, maybe 5x5 meters, and deep, the lower inner rooms are really too dark. I wonder whether that is even legal. Rooms oriented to street are probably much better.

The bed linen were washed with some irritating detergent, our skin always felt ichy, as soon as we went to bed. The WLAN did not work. The breakfast was served on a aluminium tray like in hospital and the quality and selection of the food was not very good. We only ate breakfast once and then enjoyed breakfast some where else.
