Reviews for Citotel Hôtel Athena
Review 1:The smell of the room and bathroom were as though there was mildew in the room. The location was not in Cap D'Agde, it was in Agde. That was very confusing for us trying to get there and asking around for the address. It's misleading. The breakfast was simple but I guess that's how it is in France. In America we like lots of variety, not the case here. Breads, nuts and dry fruit, yogurt, cheese and that dry meat.
Review 2:The look of the hotel is nice. The staff is very attentive and kind.
Review 3:The hotel is on a main road so traffic can be heard at all times. But it is not loud enough to be disturbing.
Review 4:Ease of access to the beaches around Cap d'Agde but sufficient distance away from them to be able to rest. Friendly and helpful staff. A delicious and varied breakfast.
Review 5:Scruffy bedrooms. Poor quality furniture. Desperate need for updating. Not worth any star rating. Front rooms noisy because of main road outside. Will not return
Review 6:Nothing
Review 7:Dated bathroom and dark towels, clean but old towels. Inadequate air conditioning, a stand alone unit not very cold. Overall a bit expensive for the quality but served it's propose.
Review 8:Large room with very large bed. Nice balcony.
Review 9:The shower head did not have enough power.
Review 10:The hotel has a relaxing atmosphere, the breakfast was good and plentiful. There is a couple of restaurants a short walk away and walking into Agde is only 25 min. Relaxing in the shade by the swimming pool during the day was recommendable. If traffic noise bothers you ask for a room facing the parking area rather than the pool.

Review 15:Noise from cars driving by my room

Review 17:We travelled in March and the hotel was very quiet probably only 2 or 3 rooms occupied. The pool was empty as it was being repaired and it was too cold that early in the season to swim anyway.
Review 18:We were in town on a boat buying trip so needed a base from which to drive around the area, to the marina etc. It was a very cost effective option. The continental breakfast was excellent.
Review 19:- even if when booking the checking in hour was 14:00 the hotel was closed up to 16:00; booking.com would need to take care of these mismatches - the receptionist was totally unfriendly - the room was humid, smelling
Review 20:The room was tatty and dirty. The bathroom was dated and in a bad state of repair (the shower was just a hand held shower head, the toilet seat broken, the tap wobblyetc etc) You needed a code to get in late at night but the reception did not give it to us ... luckily another guest was on their balcony and gave us their code.
Review 21:Nothing really.
Review 22:There is nothing much within walking distance and you will need a car.
Review 23:This is an okay hotel. It is perfectly satisfactory if you want a reasonably priced base for looking at the area or visiting the beaches. It is clean and has clean, reasonable ensuite rooms which are perhaps a little dated. Staff are quietly respectful and not over friendly. The swimming pool is just about big enough for a reasonable swim. There is free parking on site. I have visited this hotel before and it was perfectly adequate for my purposes.
Review 24:The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The facilities are good, including a swimming pool, which is a surprise for a hotel of its size. Breakfasts are adequate and value for money. The location is very convenient, particularly for the beaches, although you do need a car--it is a bit too far to walk anywhere from the hotel. However, there is plenty of space at the hotel for parking.
Review 25:Unfriendly hotel porter upon arrival who was in a hurry to get away andlock up the public areas including the guest lounge, bar area and pool.Lack of facilities available. Everywhere was locked up - not able to geta drink of water, use the wifi in the public areas or relax in thelounge areas. There was no access to any of these for guests.Disgruntled and unhelpful hotel owner.Said he cannot afford staff to manthe reception and provide drinks. Breakfast was sparse - mostly bread. The pool (which was also locked off) was dirty and not something youwould want to use even if it was accessible. The hotel is miles from anyshop or other facilities, or Agde town centre without available taxis orother transport being available. It is very shabby and seriously needsfunds investing to make this, the hotel it probably was years ago - soall in all an inaccurate description and pictures in the public domain.Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Review 26:Nothing.
Review 27:The location is a little bit off so a car is preferable. The internet connection was bad, failing all the time. It was a little better in the breakfast room, but it closed at 21.30.
Review 28:Good value for money, clean and nice rooms.
Review 29:Toilet had not been cleaned and still had traces from previous occupants of room. Toilet seat was broken. Noisy air conditioner. If you do stay here make sure to get a room onthe pool side otherwise you will not get any sun on the balcony.
Review 30:Hard to find since it is advertised as being in Cap d'Agde when it is adistance from that. Also the entrance from the road is abrupt with noadvance notice.
Review 31:This budget hotel is ok on comfort and the pool was a plus.
Review 32:Personally, I prefer the rooms at the back of the hotel as the front rooms facing the swimming pool get a lot of road noise from the dual carriageway immediately in front of the hotel. The rooms certainly have their quirks, the hand-held shower looks like a ray-gun and the industrial scale air-con looks like a 1930s robot - very effective but terrifying. Anyone who finds it hard to sleep with a noisy air-con might want to look elsewhere.
Review 33:Rooms are nice and big. Decoration is a little dated but it does have a rather quaint, almost colonial feel about the place. You need a car as the hotel is located away from any commercial area but otherwise it is well-placed either for Agde, Cap-d'agde or accessing any of the nearby beaches.
Review 34:We were in a front room & there was a lot of road noise - I would recommend a rear room.
Review 35:Nice friendly people. Not bad value.
Review 36:noise of the road at 30 meters
Review 37:perfect for a 1 night stay and even a pool
Review 38:Traffic noise
Review 39:Wonderfull Pool, and pleasant relaxed atmosphere.
Review 40:Very pleasant staff
Review 41:Comfortable with an interesting breakfast situation looking at a pool. The machine for coffee to select was important for us...
