Reviews for El Pasaje

Review 1:Nothing!

Review 2:The location was perfect...immediately next to streets of tapas bars, restaurants, squares, markets and shops. Can walk everywhere to see everything - no need t use the metro or even get the tourist bus, although this stops right outside and does give a good view of the city

Review 3:On the first night we were slow to appreciate that Madrid night life will probably go on all night. Bring earplugs and close your balcony window and use the air con!

Review 4:Friendly helpful staff - small room, very clean and well serviced every day. The breakfast was small; croissant/toast and excellent milky coffee in the nearby restaurant but was good value and the waiters were v.friendly. There was an arrangement between El Pasaje and the above restaurant for discounted lunch and dinner which were fine - not top end dining but wholesome and adequate again the staff were v.helpful. Very central location, masses of choice ref eating and drinking.

Review 5:The room was small and stark. The heat came on for a long time, blowing directly on us and neither my daughter or I could turn it off. Then the air conditioning came on. We finally managed to turn the thermostat off around 2:00.

Review 6:The shower was in good order and there was lots of water pressure.

Review 7:First of all the hotel was too high valued in price...we payed 45 euros per night...In the morning you wake up early due to lots of noises and no sound isolation between rooms and hallway. The beds and pillows are according to us horrible and when u walk in the room for the first time you walk into a refrigerator...

Review 8:Loved the location, right in the middle of the centre between Sevilla and Sol plaza.

Review 9:When we arrive there was' not a room free for the first night They have changed this hotel for an Hostal (2 stars) that was near a dancing pub( we have never slepped the first night) Finally we have paied the same price

Review 10:Nothing

Review 11:The only thing that was a little bit uncomfortable, is the bed and the pillow that wasn't thick (at least that's the way I like it :)) but overall it was okay.

Review 12:The staff was very kind and helpful, and the geographic lacation couldn't be better, we only had to walk for 2 min to find ourselves in the middle of the city center. Overall, we were very satisfied!

Review 13:Our room was very dark, bed uncomfortable, with very bad covers, and even with the extra (thin) blanket it was freezing at night. It was very noisy from the street. Staff was missing. We were requested 5 EUR per luggage/ per day to leave our when we wanted to leave our bags there for a day.

Review 14:very good location

Review 15:I uncovered the sheet, under it on the bed there were a lot of short black hair (mine are blond), and it was very dirty, with spots, brrrrrr. I slept in clothes. I think they didn't hcnage the sheet, otherwise I don't understand how changing the sheet you can leave all the trash on the bed.

Review 16:Location, price, personnel.

Review 17:The noise. Under no circumstances read the crashingly inept Lonely Planey guide to Spain which in its 2013 pronounces this street devoid of bars. It is not. There are in fact five very active pubs or bars on what is also a busy cut-through for groups of drinkers. The noise (including trumpets) starts at lunchtime on weekends and runs through continuously to the city corporation's glass-collecting and street-cleansing around 4.00am.

Review 18:Location, price and cleanliness.

Review 19:Shower stall was small but at least it was a private shower.

Review 20:Quaint hotel one street off the beaten path to Puerto Sol. Easy walk to shopping, Metro, cafes.

Review 21:Unexpected and uninformed move to another hotel nearby. The star-rating is different but we've charged the same price. And there is no elevator. The noise from the club downstairs and nearby surroundings disturbed our sleeps. Unpleasant stay due to the change of hotel and noisy nights.

Review 22:Near the metro

Review 23:Only negative I can say is. Wish the tv had an English speaking station. While away we like to be informed what is going on. Cnn or bbc wouldhave been nice. Also as everyone has said if u want quiet don't getroom in front of hotel with balcony opt for back, vey noisy on fri anSat. An also we had to go cross street to sister hotel hotel Victoriawhen ever we needed to speak with someone. As our hotel didn'talways have someone on call but always vey pleasant when rhey were there

Review 24:Clean modern spacious bathroom an rooms all large for what you find inEurope. Room was spotless each day we came into our room .alwaysfriendly an helpful the girls we met in hotel when we did see them.Would recommend this hotel for location. In middle of everythingperfect location.

Review 25:Too strong air condition, only one regime (too cold at night with it but impossible to sleep without). It's to noisy outside

Review 51:Excellent staff. Very good location. A great place to stay for trip to Madrid.

Review 52:Room could be bigger

Review 53:Location, price

Review 54:- The beds are rather tough and the pillows are worthless.

Review 55:- Excellent service from the staff - Strong WiFi-signal - Very nice shower/bathroom

Review 56:Location

Review 57:bed for 2 people only 140cm small room was very narrow, maybe 8 qm very loud, you hear every door in the hotel being opened and closed

Review 58:nothing

Review 59:Check in time a bit too long

Review 60:Renewed and rooms quite decent, although no luxurious but quite good for a 3 stars hostel

Review 61:Beds are ok, but not the best

Review 62:Location, quiet place, room 301, no noise at all...

Review 63:Occasional noise from late night revellers

Review 64:Location, cleanliness and no fuss approach shown by the staff.

Review 65:Noise

Review 66:No facilities other than rooms Not always staffed but respond quickly to intercom.

Review 67:Excellent small rooms Closeness to Sol, Paseo del Prado.

Review 68:No kettles

Review 69:There is nothing to complain.Everything was perfect.

Review 70:Excellent hotel in all aspects.I would like to send thanks giving letter to the management of the hotel.Everything was so professional and the level of the survice was over than 5 star hotels compering to all European,Asia and Middle East hotels.I strongly recommend it for pleasure and business and hope to come back, soon.Congratulations for the top level management. It was pleasure to be guest of the hotel.

Review 71:Very comfortable, clean. The staff is very friendly. Situated in the heart of the City. I will recommend this hotel to all my friends. Thanks a lot !

Review 72:Naturally, you can hear the shouts, drunk songs and other noises up until 5 o'clock in the morning. You may want earplug to sleep. It's very clean, but very small. Cheap hotels. And you cannot see any staff at front desk not all the time. It's cheap and gives values, but you will get what you pay.

Review 73:Its very close to Puerta del Sol, where you can go anywhere in Madrid. And you will have hundreds of bars, taverns and restaurant in 100m radius.

Review 74:We can't think of a thing!

Review 75:Based in central Madrid which was ideal to get to everywhere we wanted to see. Staff very helpful (also spoke english). The room/bathroom was very clean (done everyday). Buffet breakfast included (very varied and as much as you liked!) but note across the road. Comfortable and good value.

Review 76:Even though our room was on the fourth (top) floor of the hotel we did get disturbed during the night by a couple of nearby bars when people left their premises.

Review 77:Cosiness of the hotel with only 11 rooms which are kept spotless by the hard working staff. Buffet breakfast was included in the price and was at a lovely restaurant close by the hotel.

Review 78:Very good location on a side street at only 2 minutes walk from the Plaza de la Puerta del Sol. Nice, clean and well equipped rooms. Aircon and fridge were a bonus on those very hot days. Rooms on the 4th floor are probably better than the lower floor ones in consideration of the local nightlife. Good buffet breakfast served in a nearby café.

Review 79:The basic continental breakfast is basic, literally. It includes only croissant with a cup of coffee and orange juice. and it is served in another Cafe near the hostel.

Review 80:The location is great and rooms are well-decorated and cosy.

Review 81:The staff didn't speak English, but they were helpful.

Review 82:It was well equiped for the money, and it was very well located. Also, breakfast was included which was an important aspect for me.

Review 83:We requested a 7:00 AM wake up call. I don't believe the call came at 7.

Review 84:It was right in the middle of downtown so had easy access to eateries and shopping and bars.

Review 85:Very noisy on a Friday night. Singing, drumming, marching in the streets until 5am. Breakfast so, so.

Review 86:Not far from El Prado and the train station. Friendly receptionist.

Review 87:Was a bit hard to find. Street was a bit noisy at night so I couldn´t open the window.

Review 88:Room was clean, breakfast was included, and I felt very safe leaving my things there for the day. Also, they let me leave my bags there before checkin.

Review 89:rooms a bit smaller (defenetly not small but a bit smaller than other hotels around the world) . it is not a problem , just noticed that. anyway this is not a resort so it is supposed you are enjoyng the city not hanging in the room. the reception is not working night time but few feet away (across the street) is the sister hotel and if you need something you can talk to them (they are the same people)

Review 90:The hotel is perfect! very clean, looks newly redone, in the very heart of the historical center, excelent price, good breakfast, in a small quiet side street, if your purpose is bussines or you want to walk around all the historical places, or shopping, this is all you need. feels like 4 star hotel only smaller size. a lot of small details make you feel good to be there. like quality of materials good desighn . real orange juice on the breakfast, small elevator for older people or luggage (it is a old historical building) . if i go back again .. will not look further
