Reviews for Silken Atlántida Santa Cruz
Review 1:A bit far from the old town, we had to walk 15 minutes to get there.
Review 2:Fast check-in, nice staff and room. We had a good stay overall. We didn't try the breakfast though, can't comment.
Review 3:Smelly bathroom (the shower curtain should have been replaced with newer shower curtains) it was also smell of smoke in the bathroom, probably through the ventilation system from other rooms(even if it is non-smoking hotel, there were no balcony, no rooftop bar (even if they have a large roof terrace).
Review 4:Nice staff, good location, quite clean. The downtown is about 10 minutes walk, there are several shopping malls near the hotel, and the bus station with buses for the airport. The hotel is quite clean, and you can open the windows. Aircondition works well without being noisy. Rooms were quiet. The staff is very nice, helpful and service minded. The hotel is a bit dated to deserve four stars. The gym is OK. Didn't try the breakfast.
Review 5:this hotel, is an absolute joke when it comes to internet, you get it free, if you want a device to see Facebook, to get premium for business , tv, films, etc, you have to a pay 7.50 euros a day, the breakfast was the same every day, no change at all, and the car park was 12 euros a day, we won't be going back the Barcelo hotel, was much better, and a great location too, and we paid nothing etc, so next year Hello Barcelo
Review 6:location
Review 7:On the very first day we arrived, we found out that the bathroom door didn't close in the Junior Suite Room, Exclusive! There was a cafeteria nearby our room, and there was a water machine from where warm and cool water flowed. When we arrived, we were still able to use it. However, by evening, the hot water didn't work. And by next morning, on the 24th December, even the cold water didn't come out of the water machine! We called the receptionist by telephone, and he said that he would come in two minutes. Despite he said that, we waited for nearly ten minutes, and he still didn't show up. We called the receptionist one more time, and he said that he would come right away. Again, he never came. We stayed at the hotel for a week, and nothing changed with the water machine. We had paid a lot of money for this exclusive room, and it seems that they all were wasted. The staff were very kind to us, however. That is why I hope they can fix this place into a more enjoyable place.
Review 8:The breakfast was wonderful. The bed and pillows were also comfortable.
Review 9:The breakfast is amazing.Tje location is very good, 5 minutes walk from the bus station, 3 minutes to the nearest shopping mall. The jacuzzi on the 9th floor is perfect. The staff is very friendly, helpful and professional.
Review 10:Not having a swimming pool which would have been perfect.
Review 11:Very close to the bus station which made going anywhere easy. Staff were very helpful and extremily accommodating. Will stay again, very good value for money.
Review 12:Fantastic hotel. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The glass lifts on the outside of the building were amazing. Lovely little roof terrace with sun beds & Jacuzzis. Well located close to two big shopping centres and several bars/restaurants. Easy walk to the sea front or centre of town. Breakfast was excellent.
Review 13:The room smell of smoke! The moquette: just horrible.
Review 14:Excellent breakfast. Reception staff helpful and friendly. Touristic info-point provided in the lobby. City centre quite near. Jacuzzi, gym and sauna free! Good value for money!
Review 15:Very thin walls between rooms - was able to hear everything from the room next to mine.
Review 16:Good overall quality, parking possibility, breakfast and location
Review 17:central in city right next to bus depo so getting around the island is 5 mins away, 10m taxi to north airport fast, really comfortable rooms and roof top gym sauna Jacuzzi sun Terrance is spot on to relax on sunny evening . keep up good work , have rebooked this hotel already for feb break..
Review 18:Great location. The bus station is in 5 min walk. The hotel looks very modern. The lifts are transparent and you can enjoy the view of the city while going to your room. The breakfasts are good.
Review 19:Fix the cracked window at the entrance revolving door.
Review 20:Walking distance to Titsa bus station Intercambiador. We also walked to the shopping centre and to the Mercado Nuestra Sra de Africa, wow. Shopping and restaurants.
Review 21:Our car got damaged in hotels underground car park, and we were not advised.
Review 22:Good atmosphere, food very good, central position and will definitely us it again
Review 23:The location is perfect for business or pleasure. The staff are excellent, full of local knowledge and are more than happy to make your stay memorable. The rooms are very clean, modern and comfortable. The facilities are value for money, and everything is included in the price. There is a tourist information located inside the hotel for additional information, just in case the silken staff are unsure of anything. The gym is small but perfectly adequate. Loved it!!! Thank you all at the Silken. I will be back and certainly recommend you. :)
Review 24:The sea front nearby is not good for tourists - mainly a business area with docks and a refinery. Sixteen euros each for breakfast seemed crazy, but the cafes behind the hotel meant that was no problem. No kettle/tea/coffee.
Review 25:Very convenient for city and OK for old town. Very friendly and helpful. We got an excellent price on a Sunday night. Nearby cafes also good for breakfast.
Review 26:Noise coming from the street at night, wi-fi code expires every 3 days, hard to park in the street.
Review 27:Location is brilliant, staff is very friendly and helpful. Bedroom always super clean and tidy.
Review 28:We were actually upgraded which was very nice. However the self service area was right outside our door and was very noisy.
Review 29:Central location,helpful staff
Review 30:We have stayed here several times with no complaints, but this time on saturday morning when we arrived for breakfast at 1030, there was no cooked breakfast available at all, and very very Little choice of anything else. The waiters were taking our plates away before we had even finished. I am aware that the hotel was quite full, but surely this should have been taken into consideration for breakfast time.
Review 31:Breakfast tea suffers from no boiling water being available - rather a minor point but I do like a good cuppa first thing!
Review 32:Staff were lovely; room spacious and comfortable - good night's sleep; breakfast well worth having, although it is better value to book as part of the rate (rather than take as an extra when at hotel - €16 extra). Right next to El Corte Inglès and Bus station, so convenient for both.
Review 33:Wi-fi at the beginning, did not take breakfast as offered per extra pay as it appeared too expensive for Tenerife.
Review 34:We enjoyed the efficient service, cleanliness, overall comfort and the facilities. The room was rationally organised and equipped with standard amenities. It had silent and good airconditioning. For our purposes the location was also very good.
Review 35:Rooms and corridors smelled rather of stale cigarettes but bearable all the same.
Review 36:Very good location near El Corte Inglese and Intercambiador (bus station). Good facilities and comfy bed. Perfect for arriving late at TFN.
Review 37:The gym is a bit minimal, but the roof top jacuzzi(s) make up for it though.
Review 38:The location is more business oriented rather than vacation. The beds are absolutely great, to the point I asked what brand they are in order to get one at home.
Review 39:Hotel starting to look a bit run down. There are only a few restaurants in the vicinity and there's nowhere to walk where one could appreciate the sea. It's very much a business/industrial area. We didn't have breakfast because it was Euro16 per head. Out of whack with a 3-course dinner.
Review 40:The staff were lovely. The restaurant was excellent - superb staff and cuisine and very reasonably priced. Cost Euro 18 per head for a 3-course, top-quality meal.
Review 41:Nothing
Review 42:7 min walk to tram terminus. Excellent free breakfast. Free wifi. Really comfy bed and air-conditioned room. Close to bay, to nice locations to walk around. Close to major shops if shopping is your thing (not for me). A few mins walk to bars. Free gym - pity I had no time to use it!
Review 43:Breakfast not included and cost 16 euros, slow Internet.
Review 44:Staff are friendly and helpful, clean room.near several malls. Within walking distance from main bus station and planetarium.
Review 45:Position, breakfast, very close to the city center, close to the shopping center, garage inside the hotel .... definitely a good price for the obtained ...
Review 46:Clean and very nice - central location,5 min walk from the Intercambiador and several shopping centres. Excellent Wifi ( we stayed in the room 512 ), nice selection of foods and beverages for breakfast. We definitely recommend the hotel to everyone!
Review 47:Nothing we didn't like.
Review 48:This is a beautifully run hotel. It is in a good location for the city, the staff were friendly and well trained and the breakfast first class. Could not ask for more!
Review 49:No English telly.c
Review 50:Very convenient for the shopping malls. Also easy from the bus station. Good Vista from our room. Lovely Jacuzzi at the end of the days shopping.
Review 51:First day we arrived we got a small room ugly backyard side, To change it was not possible the same day:-(
Review 52:Beatiful city view from the lift, helpful receptionists. No need to pay to park our car. Close to shopping center.
Review 53:We were given a room on the seventh floor and we found the window opened onto a large open well faced with occupied flats! Offered a smoking 8th floor street view or a non-smoking 2nd floor street view which we took.
Review 54:The staff were great, the breakfast buffet was delightful with plenty for every taste, including fruit, rolling toaster and artisan breads, fresh every day. The bus station is two blocks away and the new trams start below there. Get a Bono ticket (15 or 25 euros) at the bus station. You can share it between you and when it runs out, you just pay the Bono fare difference! The shop in the south airport (as shown on the web) hadn't got any and the sign looked old.
Review 55:Our room smelled smoky at the very beginning. The bed was not super comfortable due to the squeaking sound. The rooms definitely need some sound isolation and vacuum cleaning should not start that early on Sundays.
Review 56:Perfect location, friendly staff, a nice & clean room, and a decent breakfast. No bad experiences related to WiFi connection on our mobile devices. I liked the hot tub on the terrace.
Review 57:Hotel is clean but lacks any atmosphere as does the whole soulless city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife with it's ugly concrete blocks building architecture
Review 58:Location close to Santa Cruz bus station and Tenerife North airport (I flew to La Palma island from North airport)
Review 59:Wifi speed is medium to good however you probably require a PhD to register the multiple Wifi passwords without seeking help from the receptionist. This needs to become simpler urgently. The only thing missing from the room is a kettle with tea and coffee; that would be make it excellent.
Review 60:The staff was extremely helpful and the free access to the jacuzzi/gym floor gave us an extra smile. Breakfast is top for Spanish standards. Rooms are very clean with well-equipped bathroom. There is also a tourist advisor everyday until 1pm for free maps and info.
Review 61:The noise! Fellow 'guests' with no consideration and paper thin walls. Not 4 stars in our view. One of two lifts (11 floors) under repair for a few days. Russians partying on roof terrace.
Review 62:After a week of putting up with noise, we complained and on request they found us a quieter room for the second week.
Review 63:On a busy junction which made it noisy and unpleasant to walk to and from compared to other parts of town. 'Free' internet rarely strong enough to open a webpage or send an email. (Of course there is the option to 'upgrade' to faster wifi - meaning wifi that works, but it's honestly better to say there is no free-wifi than to suggest there is and then disappoint.) Others ni the group stayed in Iberostar, and there is no comparison.
Review 64:Nothing to particularly rave about
Review 65:Took a little while to find the garage in the one way system. Dining room a bit souless. Saturday night was only bar menu. Ask for room on outside of hotel if you need to open windows as overlooked by other flats very near
Review 66:Excellent location, walkable to bus station, tram and concert hall. Taxis in Santa Cruz plentiful and very reasonable. Would recomend.
Review 67:The breakfast assortment can be improved although it is not bad. The stuff was looking busy but in fact nothing so much was happening around. They could be more friendly and entertaining for the tourists like us.
Review 68:The hotel is just great for what you pay. Good location, nicely equipped room - decent bed, new TV, great view from the window, OK wi-fi Internet
Review 69:Not very central, but taxi rank located right outside.
Review 70:Very nice breakfast, with good selection of local products. Very comfortable room with large bed. Excellent shower. Nice rooftop views over the city.
Review 71:The original room was smoky although it was a non smoking room but reception moved us quickly
Review 72:Breakfast We were upgraded to the Exec area with free (very strong ) coffee Close to opera house Walking distance to bar district on - Calle Antonio Domínguez Alfonso 36
Review 73:Little natural light in room. Noisy restaurant
Review 74:Location , staff , executive floor and facilities, great breakfast , overall cleanliness, spacious office area in room
Review 75:We spent two nights at the Silken and found it to be very comfortable. The location is superb and the staff very friendly. It is close to the bus station a nice shopping mall and almost next door to Corte Inglese.
Review 76:Everything was satisfying for the money
Review 77:Hotel is almost central. couple of minutes walk to center but far enough to avoid heavy traffic, parking problem and noise
Review 78:No dislikes at all.
Review 79:10 minutes walk from bus and tram stations. 2-5 minutes to excellent shops. Free wifi, very helpful reception staff, clean and comfortable beds. Excellent breakfasts. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Santa Cruz.
Review 80:The rooms are not sound proof so you can hear your neighbours. But I noticed this to be a general problem with the hotels in Santa Cruz. It is also a bit pricey...
Review 81:It is located close to the main bus station and close to a good Japanese restaurant. Also, it is not far from the city center. The staff is always very nice and the rooms are modern. I didn't try the breakfast nor the spa/pool.
Review 82:Although situated in the heart of the business district the roads in and out of town were on our doorstop. Prices this side of town were cheap, less than half price compared to places like Adeje, and even better quality of service and hotel facilities. WiFi was solid in the room (8th floor) and the 8th floor was also a smoking floor so for two of our party this was a delight. Food was unexpectedly superb from a plain looking restaurant attached. Rooms were superbly equipped and the hotel had very secure, monitored, locked underground parking. What more could we want, definitely going back there.
Review 83:Wifi signal perfect but the connection was restricted and didn't work with mail program, really bad. Floor in the room not cleaned well enough.
Review 84:Jacuzzi, sauna and panorama on top floor. Close to shopping centre and bus station/tram terminus.
Review 85:The wifi needs to be changed as not easily accessible.
Review 86:The room was spacious and comfortable, the staff very welcoming and helpful and the location was perfect.
Review 87:The free WiFi was weak and you had to keep signing in to it. They need to keep on top of the cleanliness and fresh towels in the spa area more frequently.
Review 88:The jacuzzi and sauna were a nice bonus, the staff was excellent and the location perfect for our activities. We will be back.
Review 89:WiFi was rubbish and breakfast is far too expensive.
Review 90:This was my first time in Santa Cruz and the hotel was absolutely fine. It's located within minutes of the bus station and situated by some decent shopping malls. The staff were fine - not great but not bad; quite simply, they did their job. I did request a room several floors up but none was available so they offered me a 'junior suite' which was really big but slightly away from the main reception. Outside the room I stayed, free coffee and doughnuts were available. I never had breakfast - far too expensive I would argue. By European standards, this hotel is fine. Yes I would stay here again.
Review 91:wifi could be better
Review 92:kind reception, the upgrade to a superior room (excelent by the way), the breakfast was awesome, don't miss it. Only stayed for a night but overall the experience was very good.
Review 93:Room looked onto a tower block...no view of City or Sea.
Review 94:Modern Hotel in a really tidy part of the City. Friendly Reception Staff. King size bed. Super value at the price I paid, but I think I got lucky there.
Review 95:The waiters in the restaurant treat the guests a bit like they are bothering and in the way of their work. But this is the only negative thing I can say.
Review 96:As a basis for some tours of the northern part of the island this hotel is great. You are close to the bus station and have a nice city feeling. The room and breakfast were perfect.
Review 97:The breakfast wasn't worth the price-definitely not 4*.
Review 98:We arrived to hotel about 15.30 and our room wasn't ready. We had to wait over an hour for room but instead of standard room we have reserved we got upgrade to executive floor with free buffet - sancks, coffee, tea for 24hrs. and free parking space for 2 nights. (of course we had to ask for it ;) ) Room was ok, lady who was cleaning our room was super nice.
Review 99:Spent 10 nights here from 19th December 2014 and enjoyed every moment of it. Great location as walking distance to everywhere you want to go. The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. The restaurant food is brilliant and the accommodation is clean and well looked after. No complaints as the hotel made our holiday perfect.
Review 100:Room temperature was a little cool. Staff a little too fast at clearing tables at breakfast.
Review 101:Friendly atmosphere. The executive lounge for coffee etc. The dinner on Christmas day was excellent. Room
Review 102:- Centrallized air-conditioning refused to work properly for heating; - Cold from window-wall in a winter season;
Review 103:- Location is great: just near the bus station (direct connection to the airport Noret), tram station (direct connection to an old city La Laguna) and shopping mall El Corte Ingles; - Size of room is big enough, city view from window-wall;
Review 104:On this occasion we were given a supposed 'marital suite', room 608, but, although it had a double bed and a slightly bigger TV, it was no different to the standard room we stayed in last time. The window overlooked the atrium of the hotel and consequently the outlook was awful. This really spoiled the enjoyment of our stay.
Review 105:We really like this hotel and have stayed here before. The rooms are comfortable and clean with excellent facilities. The location close to the bus station, tram terminus, shopping mall and cinema is also excellent.
Review 106:check in was shocking, check in time said 12. got there at 12.30, told room not ready, come back in a few hours, came back at 3.30. had to go through check in again with some other uninterested member of staff finally got in room about 4.30
Review 107:location and room position
Review 108:Bedroom smelt of smoke Wifi would not work Wrong plug in bath so water ran out
Review 109:Great roof terrace, good hot tub Good location for bus station and cruise ships Good buffet breakfast
Review 110:A terrible welcome with the young girl who asked twice did we want to buy, meaning did we want to pay for staying. Sadly I was standing for 20 minutes, even though there were no other people around us. Breakfast was not good as it was sadly being closed before people were there. This is a review from 4 people sadly.
Review 111:Very clean and conveniant for personnel.
Review 112:Everything. I am definately going to stay there again. Make sure you request a non-smoking room if you are non smokers though they changed ours immediately. Fantastic location
Review 113:At night, rattling could be heard, eventually located to what appeared to be pipes behind the wall behind the bed, making it difficult to sleep. Breakfast, although the selection was very good, I did find the scrambled eggs and bacon.
Review 114:Position very good, Bed very comfortable (apart from the noise).
Review 115:In room TV was a bit dated and wifi was ok but had to keep putting in a code where my phone usually just saves it and connects when in hotel, it was a bit of a pain! And I needed to extend a few days which I notified the hotel Pryor to booking, the fee was much much more if I still wanted breakfast as I got the " internet deal"......come on!
Review 116:Great location smack bang in the middle of town, close to Candalaria hospital where we needed to be with our child. It was a stressful time made easier by this hotel. Rooms are clean and comfy, staff are nice and helpful. Breakfast was included and very good. The roof terrace and little gym and spa bit was a nice touch!
Review 117:Poor english of the Cleaning ladies, not All receptionists speak englosh too, carpet wasnt hoovered every day, general tidy up not done by All cleaners. Poor toothpaste, water too hot in jacuzzi, small flies in the breakfast juice jar, fruit and cakes not fresh in the morning bufet.
Review 118:No cocroaches, air cond., printing area. Nice view from the lift. Meat cheese bread crossaint very nice in the morning buffet. Fridge in the room
Review 119:The bar serves food only from 20.30 in the evening You can ear the noise coming from the street, even at the 5th floor.
Review 120:Modern and clean hotel Spacious junior suite with spa tube
Review 121:A lot of noise in the corridor (doors slamming and loud voices) starting from 8am on a Sunday morning. I think it was the cleaners starting work.
Review 122:We opted for the Champagne breakfast and it was amazing! Best room service breakfast we have had and great value for money.
Review 123:Great assets: the free parking space and the wifi in every room (you'd think this is basic stuff, but in Tenerife it's not, as we would later find out). Friendly and very helpful staff, good breakfast selection, spacious and clean rooms.
Review 124:- Via booking.com you don't get free parking, so you have to park on the street (free parking slots are available almost everywhere on the streets, though it is a pain to find one in certain hours of the day). - Didn't have a proper view from the room
Review 125:- The hotel staff was very helpful - The rooms are very clean, modern and comfortable
Review 126:Breakfast at 16 euros/ person WIFI works randomly and no access to any servers possible only web TV screen cathodic 50 cm (very old!!!) A bit of dust around the famous TV Stains on the carpet
Review 127:Rooms are OK, the location is good, prices are acceptable
Review 128:The "wifi" is a joke! 50kbps and only surfing feels like 1995... And the "gym" leaves a lot to be desired.
Review 129:Nice rooms, clean and comfortable hotel, good breakfast buffé, very nice people in the reception!
Review 130:Nothing at all we didn't like!
Review 131:The facilities, from our room to the restaurant were excellent! The staff were very helpful. The waitress/bartender recommend we go to La Laguna (it was Sunday and most places were closed). This turned out to be one of the highlights of our vacation as we got to see a spectacular local festival!! Followed by the World Cup final in the hotel lounge, ... what can I say but PERFECT!!
Review 132:no coffee making facility in room bar area not very inviting for pre dinner drinks
Review 133:great location very good breakfast good parking comfortable room
Review 134:Friendly staff and cleanliness of room first class. Breakfast selection superb.
Review 135:We did not like the very dirty carpets and the very smelly bathroom with no ventilation and resulting in the dampness
Review 136:We like comfortable beds
