Reviews for Santateresa
Review 1:Lovely staff, great location, upgraded room at no charge, amazing views of the sea, room was better than some 5 stars have stayed in.. Would definitely recommend and book again.
Review 2:Bed /mattress was not great quality. Quite firm...only queen size mattress. Bed cover ...prefer a duvet slip that gets changed for each guest rather than having to use same cover as your blanket. Room rate / quality very expensive. Expected more. No coffee machine in room. No shampoo/conditioner. Only provided soap.
Review 3:Had a junior suite. It was spacious . Good Location, free parking, quiet area Staff were helpful. Clean.
Review 4:We loved the location of the property at the top of the hill + tip of the land. We watched beautiful sunsets and could easily walk to the main part of town + the marina by stairs.
Review 5:I expected more for the price I paid, but as I reserved in the last time I had to take a triple room to two people and It also got the price more expensive then should be.
Review 6:Location is good.
Review 7:Located on edge of old town so a few minutes walk from restaurants and shops. A good 20 minutes walk from the livelier new town and about 30 back uphill.
Review 8:Great views and very modern
Review 9:Bed was quite uncomfortable - it was 2 small single beds pushed together. The sheets were hard and coarse. The pillows were old. No duvet but old bedspread that was too heavy to sleep under. The air con machine was really loud above our heads so we found it very hard to sleep. Not great for the money you are paying.
Review 10:- Far from everywhere. You must go there by car - No restaurant in the hotel (although they have breakfast) or close to the hotel. You need to walk/drive approx 1km
Review 11:- Baby-Friendly - Great parking - Nice staff
Review 12:Staff should've told us that the drinks we got on arrival were not on the house, and also more clear about that breakfast was not included in the rate. Getting to and from the hotel was cumbersome, since hardly any taxis existed, and the small tourist train didn't go all the way, and started at the other end of the port. Rate was high. Neighboring lot was just a pile of rubbish, literally.
Review 13:Location was excellent, with great view and closeness to the castelle/old town. Room was good. Staff spoke good English.
Review 14:Price of the room is higher than it should be, we paid 330 €/ night and no WIFI in the room just in the lobby
Review 15:Location - specially the best is a view, nice room, wide-ranging breakfast, free parking
Review 16:No tea and coffee facilities in the suite type room that costs 295 euros per night. Rather strange...
Review 17:The sea view. The car parking. The location is perfect, away from the croud but withing walking distance from the historical center and restaurants. Friendly and helpful stuff.
Review 18:Horrible view from our window, tiny room, miniature table, very uncomfortable bed that kept splitting in the middle, had to sit down in bath to have a shower. Nowhere to relax in sun outside hotel- just rubbly ground. No refreshments or snacks available throughout the day- not even water.
Review 19:We were in Bonifacio. We were able to go to a sistering hotel to use pool. Staff were lovely and it was clean.
Review 20:The interior design was a little too over the top in places, but generally the pictures don't do it justice.
Review 21:Super friendly staff. Fabulously views of boats and Sardinian coast.
Review 22:Minor detail - no wifi in the rooms.
Review 23:Wuthering Heights set on the cliffs of Bonifacio. Loved i! Surprisingly modern well appointed facilities. Parking up top on the cliff was a serious bonus.
Review 24:Hotel location is perfect. The view from the room, by the sea, is marvelous . The staff is professional and very pleasant. The deco is very original. We really enjoyed our stay in Santateresa hotel.
Review 25:Although Santateresa is up on a hill from the old town, and you must drive around the citadelle and through traffic to get there, it was so nice to be away from the old town, but yet be able to walk there easily. Very friendly staff and great buffet breakfast! You are up on the cliffs and have a beautiful view of the Mediterranean and Sardinia.
Review 26:The shower didn't work properly. The beds were really hard. We asked for a double bed but we got two single beds instead.
Review 27:The room was clean. Wifi worked really well. View is nice, but if you don't have car it is hard to reach the hotel.
Review 28:The price of the breakfast was high. 15€ per person, so we had breakfast in the port.
Review 29:The location is perfect, the staff is very helpful. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable.
Review 30:On the clifs of Bonifacio, above the sea. Perfect view and very comfortable room. Very nice and helpful staff - early check in without additional fees. For travelers without a car it can be a problem, you have to climb the mountain in extreme heat but it's not crowded .
Review 31:The seemingly basic breakfast was €15 which we skipped and went to town instead.
Review 32:The location and the views all the way to Sardinia. Acceptable (free) wifi. Plenty of (free) parking space.
Review 33:The apartment was not in an ideal area, it had not been prepared as expected by the owner. My concerns were expressd directly to the owner and she if nothing else responded to the concerns.
Review 34:A bit of a walk from the Ferry but Worth a visit.
Review 35:The only negative is the fact that it’s about a 10min walk to the town and if you are arriving by boat from Sardinia, be prepared to book one of the 4 taxis in town and pay EUR20 for a 2 minute ride!
Review 36:This hotel is in a rather strange location in the middle of old ruins and thistles, so be prepared for the isolation. The benefit of this is that it is super quiet at night times, unlike in the old town which can get rather busy. The rooms are well appointed, with decent toiletries, comfortable beds and lots of space (we had a suite). Breakfast had a decent range, though could be improved. The views from the hotel are fantastic.
Review 37:The hotel location is excellent, with an amazing view of the cliffs, as it is located in the Citadel. We were very well welcomed by Mr. David, very kind and helpful. We have nothing to complain about this hotel, we had a memorable stay.
Review 38:Could have used better directions for walking off the ferry from Sardinia. Not really hotels problem, but a walking map on internet site would be useful!
Review 39:We really liked our room with small balcony over looking the ocea and cliffs. Absolutely beautiful.
Review 40:breakfast coffee should not bear that name; shower leaking, bed linen too thin and cover too heavy to sleep under, poor finishing of bathroom
Review 41:staff, breakfast
Review 42:A bigger balcony would have been nice, but I recon that the building is restricted. Bonificia is quite expensive.
Review 43:The location is excellent. Great base for exploring Bonificia.
Review 44:Just the Wifi was a little slow
Review 45:Great location. We had the junior suite and was perfect with a balcony overlooking the rock of Bonifacio. Great staff. Especially helpful was David who gave us great tips. Hat a car and we were not searching for a parking cos Santateresa owe their own parking. The cleaning ladies did also a great job
Review 46:Nothing, everyrhing was great. Probable a little overpriced.
Review 47:Everything was great. The view - purely fantastic. The hotels's a bit staying away from the downtown, but that makes just a few extra minutes of walking. Probably that's even better, as it gives more privacy and relaxation from the nightlife noise. The reception staff helped really a lot with finding and booking different entertainments around.
Review 48:Fair walk to restaurants
Review 49:Very nice location, maybe a bit secluded for some but nice if you like being away from tourists. Rooms nice and clean (a tiny bit small) with nice views of Sardaigna. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Review 50:to say one thing: we missed a simple lamp above the bathroom mirror - for easier make-up /hair, shaving (should be easy and inexpensive to fix but great value for guests)
Review 51:We much enjoyed our two nights at the hotel which is uniquely located at the top of the cliffs and in walking distance from the old town with its boutiques and restaurants. Good beds, nice looking furniture and decoration in general. Delicious breakfast including local speciality baked goods, jams, cheeses etc. The parking lot is definitely a plus. Very friendly staff, we got a map and were given lots of suggestions to make even more of our stay.
Review 52:The hotel is in a great location close to the upper town and the ferry terminal but in a very quiet location. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and appear to be recently refurbished. The bed was comfortable and the staff very helpful- when the air conditioner in our room didn't work well we were immediately shifted a new room.
Review 53:Great location, short walk to the old city.
Review 54:The view outside
Review 55:Location, very near the old town of Bonifacio
Review 56:Breakfast at15 euros each is a bit expensive
Review 57:Ideal for visiting the old town.
Review 58:late breakfast can be a bit short on assortment (no fresh orange juice, etc...) price a bit steep
Review 59:Very good location, car park, wifi
Review 60:Nice hotel. Good position on top of the headland. 5 minutes walk into the town yet far enough out for a quiet stay.
Review 61:Breakfast non included and price than to high for room without breakfast. No free shuttle too the airport
Review 62:Nice view
Review 63:Free parking
Review 64:Historical, sea view, big rooms and bathroom, walking distance to the center, quiet location, modern design, great value for money
Review 65:Breakfast price.
Review 66:Location. Comfortable room.
Review 67:Modern rooms and free parking.
Review 68:Rather overpriced. Breakfast pricey so we ate out. Adjacent area not very attractive.
Review 69:Being in the citadel. Free parking. Quality room.
Review 70:The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 71:Too far to beaches
Review 72:Rooms might be air conditioned but the breakfast area was not. Too hot and uncomfortable during summer
Review 73:bedding not comfortable, shower temperature fluctuates
Review 74:location, view, terrace, staff
Review 75:Free parking and position
Review 76:Best location in town, breathtaking view, great service, comfortable and tasteful
Review 77:A little pricey
Review 78:Great location Free parking Lovely staff Nice room great view
Review 79:Located in quiet area next to the center, very friendly and helpful staff
Review 80:Very exposed, with wind howling at night. Access difficult without vehicle. No frig or kettle or hotel information guide.
Review 81:Nice outlook.
Review 82:Nothing
Review 83:Brilliant view.
Review 84:Comfortable room , huge bathroom (we had a superior room 209). Short walk into the old town for loads of restaurants. Great views of Sardinia.
Review 85:wi fi
Review 86:can be a windy location as exposed on top of cliff
Review 87:great ocean views, plenty of parking, good location for visiting old town
Review 88:Quality of the construction
Review 89:The location of the Hotel, position at the far end right on top of the cliffs!
Review 90:The view is breathtaking, wonderful facilities, mini balcony, parking, walking distance to the Bonifaccio town center. I would go back there.
Review 91:Hospitality, friendness, breakfast ..... ALL
Review 92:Too expensive (190 eur for double room) for a good hotel hut not luxurious or outstanding
Review 93:Good location, close to the old city and with nice views
Review 94:the breakfast is not included
Review 95:Very friendly and helpful staff; the hotel is located in a very quiet area and the view to the sea is amazing
Review 96:quite expensive for the quality of facilities on offer
Review 97:great location
Review 98:Nothing.
Review 99:Great location, staff extremely pleasant, professional and helpful.
Review 100:Breakfast is way to expensive and off poor quality (heated croissants, pre-baked bread, industrial juices, awful eggs,...). Wifi is very slow. Decorating could be improved (it's a bit kitsch).
Review 101:Great location with a beautiful view. Parking
Review 102:The hotel has a modern interior with nicely fitted out rooms. I had booked for the parking amonst other things as we were hiring a car. I had booked then realised the car hire was closed Sunday. We caught a taxi to the hotel as only alternative was to walk or squish on the little tourist train. It is a steep walk to the hotel. The taxi service is sporadic. Sometimes they will go to this hotel and sometimes they won't. We had a small balcony with sea view. When we arrived the lady on reception was very helpful storing our bags till check in and coming to find us to let us know the room was ready. We visited the top part of the town and went down to the port in the evening. I think this is a very nice hotel. Even better with a car. Bonifacio is a very expensive town so the price is more than we have paid for other hotels of this quality, however is reasonable in comparison to other hotels in the town. We did skip the breakfast at 18 Eur as we were already over budget.
Review 103:The Personal is very friendly and helpful. We had a sweet with a wonderful view of the city. The room was spacious and very comfortly furnished. The location is perfect. Parking is avalible and the town easily accessible by foot. A perfect choice. Highly recomended!!
Review 104:not as close to the center as it might appear, it is a 10-15 minute walk to the old town and 25-30 to the harbour downhill;
Review 105:Nice location on the cliffs, beautiful views; rooms big and showers nice;
Review 106:The strong wind, but the hotel can't help that.
Review 107:The stunning location. Beautiful views over to Sardinia. Very pleasant and comfortable room. Very friendly staff. We would definitely go back again.
Review 108:not in historic town center -> about a 10-15 minutes walk to the historic town center and 20-25 minutes to the harbour (downhill);
Review 109:The location is really beautiful, but about a 10-15 minutes walk to the historic town center and 20-25 minutes to the harbour (downhill); the room and the bathroom were really nice and clean; free parking outside the hotel;
Review 110:The juice at the breakfast could have been home pressed. Coffee from machine. Parking lot in front of room. They could have had the parking lot on the other side and turned the existing parking lot into a garden. That would have made the view even more breathtaking. Slow internet, but that is a problem in most hotels.
Review 111:Great location. Newly refurbished building. Clean room. Nice staff. Ocean view from the room. Short walk to get to the Escaliers du Roi d'Aragon. Good breakfast with a good choice of various food. I can recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Bonifacio.
Review 112:Fabulous location within the old walled city, peaceful if somewhat isolated. Very modern and harmonious interior decoration. Professional and friendly staff.
Review 113:It was difficult to find. The website was a bit misleading on this. Forthe price I think breakfast should have been included. Euro16 wasexpensive a buffet breakfast.
Review 114:The hotel was very stylish and in a spectacular location.
Review 115:No door between bedroom and bathroom. No the-kettle or minibar in the room.
Review 116:Nice location - only 5 min. walk from the city center. Very quiet during the night. Friendly english-speaking staff.
Review 117:nothing
Review 118:Great hotel, nice (english speaking) staff, very nice rooms, private parking (which is hard in Bonifacio), very near to centrum Bonifacio. Good breakfast
Review 119:We stayed two nights and the first night we had a room with a view on a cemetery which wasn't very nice, but the lady at the reception arranged for another room the second night.
Review 120:Staff was extremely helpful and kind. All receptionists were very caring. We had a room with a view over the sea and Sardigna which is much better than the view over the cimetary. Spacious room, very clean, good breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel if budget permits.
Review 121:I've booked a superior double room for EUR190 and it turned out to be a room with a great view on a wall just 3 meters away from the window. All you could see looking out the window was a perfectly vertical plain wall - very well done as such. Not exactly what you'd expect for that amount from a superior room. I really think this feature does not qualify this room as superior - albeit certainly superior to, say, a dungeon. The hotel manager couldn't care less although finally we were offered a 10% discount which still made this an outrageously expensive stay.
Review 122:Good location with (free) parking for all.
