Reviews for Sercotel Rey Sancho
Review 1:Offered upgrade to suite but we were not told it was adjacent to busy lift. Difficult to get to sleep by noise from busy use at bed time. Staff very glum.
Review 2:Excellent garage parking
Review 3:Mature female reception staff member who checked us in had poor English & couldn't really explain how to work the room air conditioning. The floor of the gym was littered with dead cockroaches. There were bare wires exposed in the bathroom ceiling in one room above the bath
Review 4:Pool attendant was very helpful. Rooms quiet enough & comfortable bed allowed a good night's sleep
Review 5:Was told there was no Iron or Ironing board and to use the hotel services. Services only available in the morning. Then to find they actually had a iron and ironing board and we trying to make me pay for ironing .. not impressed.
Review 6:Location, 5 min walk from the centre of pallencia
Review 7:The breakfast was very poor. The hotel mayn have been good once, but seems to be have let go.
Review 8:The bed was very comfortable. The pool was very good. The set lunch was very good
Review 9:Not the hotels fault but my satnav couldn't locate hotel as new entrances to underground carparks very close to the hotel had been located where my satnav wanted to take me.
Review 10:very helpful staff. Parking was problem (there was a wedding taking place) but receptionist said she was finishing shortly and kindly gave me her parking space. Lovely pool area and very short walk into city centre
Review 11:Comfortable
Review 12:Breakfast wasn't the best
Review 13:Location was near centre of town.
Review 14:Air conditioning was a bit disappointing.
Review 15:Great location next to the town centre. Lovely swimming pool and very friendly staff.
Review 16:Pool ok but no water. Phone ok but unable to make calls. The hotel and surrounds was to say the least very tired. Sadly it certainly didn't do what it said on the tin!
Review 17:Unable to locate hotel at first due to signs being covered by undergrowth. Restricted parking.
Review 18:Nice restaurant. Comfortable room. City centre location but still quiet.
Review 19:We passed the hotel 3 times and finally went in to enquire if it was the Rey Sancho. It has no visible ID. No lift to lower level. Inadequate sound proofing between bedrooms.
Review 20:Stopping place en route to Santander.
Review 21:Looked scruffy from the outside, not like the picture could do with a bit of a makeover. Hairdryer was broken, shower leaked very small garage
Review 22:It was near the city centre, the hotel was comfortable the food was good
Review 23:the barman was not very friendly.
Review 24:very friendly reception staff , excellent place to stay on the way to santander for the ferry , its only 2 hours away
Review 25:It was hard to find as there was no hotel sign displayed outside. It had "Residencia Catillio Ray" displayed on the wall but not vissable from the road.
Review 26:A well run clean hotel with helpful staff
Review 27:The only fault was that the air conditioning unit in the room was very loud.
Review 28:Travelling from Galicia to Barcelona by motorbike, we used this hotel as a 1 night stopover. Having done this trip several times, I can honestly say this was the best hotel we have stayed in. The price was fantastic (€55) the room was huge, with a 2 metre wide bed and a seperate living room area with sofa and coffee table. The pool was an excellent way to refresh after a 5 hour ride. We didn't try the restaurant, so can't comment on the food. Definitely recommended.
Review 29:Excellent, food also. However, no facilities for my disability scooterexcept for outside, and that difficult to reach. The stairs were anightmare for me, particularly the walk to breakfast on the lowestfloor. Staff spoke no english and would or could not help. I found myown storage solution, in the garage with the cars, and could only use iton your premises by the pool and the outside eating area.
Review 30:Honestly, I cannot think of a single thing other than their restaurantstaff seemed a bit "snooty", though that definately could have been acultural barrier. Still found them to be helpful.
Review 31:The staff were very helpful. Although we had a bit of a languagebarrier, they went out of their way to be helpful and we had no problemcommunicating. The room was lovely, clean and plenty of hot water!! Wewere in Spain to watch our son play in a football tournament and theHotel Rey Sancho graciously made their pool available to our son and 5of his teamates. Very accomodating! Kind and enthusiastic staff.
Review 32:Arrived at night. Would have been better had name of hotel been displeyad prominently. Was not sure it was correct hotel - had to get out to make sure. Sign visible from street would have helped.
Review 33:It doesn't look very elegant from the outside!
Review 34:It is a lovely, elegantly decorated, friendly hotel on an island nearthe old centre of Palencia where there is the most wonderful Cathedral.
