Reviews for Hôtel Périer Du Bignon
Review 1:Lovely 18th century building very tastefully and sensitively updated. Excellent and friendly staff, beautifully decorated rooms and wonderful food. Plenty of private parking. Perfect all round
Review 2:Restaurant closed too early and breakfast spread poor compare to Best across river...
Review 3:The Room is beautiful and the Loft Room is timeless... not your typical Boxed template room...
Review 4:Room decore very dated, twin beds were tiny and there is easily enough room to have wider ones. Room decore is gloomy and dated, not depicted on the website
Review 5:Staff friendly and great location. Good value
Review 6:Staff seemed very inexperienced. Bar was non existent, had to find a member of staff and order drinks then hope they found where you were when delivering them. Breakfast was expensive and ran out of essential items by 8:45am (open until 10:00am) Electricity in room was not working, Manager had to sort out problem. Room safe was locked and staff could not open it, therefore no room safe. Dinner was expensive, wine list very expensive 40eur for a sub standard chablis, one of the cheapest on the list.
Review 7:Comfortable bedroom
Review 8:The room was very warm and the air con control was disconnected.
Review 9:Loved the ambiance and decor. Secure Parking. Friendly and helpful staff on Reception and Dining Room.
Review 10:Difficult to find, a more precise map showing one way streets would have been helpful. Gardens a bit tired, went to sit on a lovely seat but it had stale bird droppings on it. Breakfast was expensive for what was on offer. No air conditioning, room very hot in July.
Review 11:Welcoming staff, lovely dining room and evening meal. Garage parking. Beautiful building.
Review 12:We had booked a superior room which was lovely. However there was a noise in the room a buzzing. We called reception and he came up and did not know where the noise was coming from. We asked to move but we were given a smaller standard room. When we were checking out we said that we were not happy with this as it was a single room (no door on toilet ). There was no apology or anything taken off our bill. Yes we were paying less than the their agreed rates but that is not the point. Customer service is poor and needs improvement.
Review 13:The hotel itself is very nice a country house style. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant is good value for money as the food is very good. The rooms are decorated to a good standard and are clean. The pool and gardens are a great feature.
Review 14:Breakfast was a disaster. No staff around, tables not cleared which meant guests sitting down to dirty plates. Breakfast items running out and not replenished. Many disgruntled guests.
Review 15:Beautiful building, superb dinner in the lovely garden.
Review 16:No kettle in the bedroom. Parking was a bit of a problem as the car parks were full of conference attendees but as we had a motorbike they could squeeze us in. The extractor fan didn't work in the toilet.
Review 17:The staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and very nice. The hotel was in a good location as a stopover with a bit of luxury on our journey from Tours to St Malo.
Review 18:Room not cleaned during stay, no hot breakfast, no spa facility available. Room was very dark and not furnished adequately. One light not working told reception who did nothing about it. Asked for twin bed on arrival, was told that this would be sorted out the next day as no availability, despite the hotel being empty! This was never sorted out in the end.
Review 19:Good location
Review 20:small dark room ;curtains obscure half the window and you can't open the windows without passing the curtains one way then another and at the end of this" chase croise "the windows are opened but not the curtains.Dark furniture absolutely basic despite being ina "superieur" room. No air conditioning.Hotel is in residential area and at weekends young teenagers hold parties in surrounding houses. On the Friday we were booked they sang and shouted and played music until 4am. There was no one answering our calls in the hotel reception as we were desperate to change rooms. We suppose that the neighbours act as retaliation if the hotel hosts events such as wedding??
Review 21:The breakfast and it was free as we had not slept all night
Review 22:No information in the room about Laval. No kettle. Expensive. Not many staff around.
Review 23:Bed was good and location good. Pool was clean.
Review 24:Rooms nee air conditioning
Review 25:Clean, comfortable very friendly and helpful staff. Made to feel very welcome. A good stay.
Review 26:There was a little smell from the pipes in the toilet
Review 27:Strongly recommend
Review 28:Quality hotel
Review 29:Nothing.
Review 30:Staff extremely friendly . Great location. Very quiet and beautiful gardens.
Review 31:Nice central hotel
Review 32:ultra modern bathroom facilities.
Review 33:the building and garden. Most helpful and friendly staff. High quality food..
Review 34:Pleasant comfortable accommodation. Courteous and attentive staff.
Review 35:Price is a little too expensive
Review 36:Comfort bed, Free-Wifi, Heated floor, spacious room
Review 37:I didn't like the automated coffee machine for breakfast. I would prefer coffee from the kitchen. There was a lack of shelving in the bathroom so I ended up placing my toiletries bag on the bed. Bathroom could have done with a few hooks to hang towels/clothes/bathrobe.. Very picky, I know. I really did like it a lot.
Review 38:stylishly good rooms. very comfortable rooms. Excellent staff who could not have been more helpful. A very good restaurant with good service. I thought that the hotel was great value for money and I will definitely stay there again. The owner has put a lot of thought into his hotel and deserves success.
Review 39:Over priced wine selection. 38 euros for their cheapest bottle of wine is just tooo much. No air conditioning or fan in the room. The room opened onto a public terrace with French doors so could not be left open at night while we slept to get air to circulate when very hot! No fridge. No proper make-up mirror
Review 40:Really great staff and hotel facilities. Food was excellent if a little pricey.
Review 41:No air-conditioning in the bedrooms located under the roof, which was a little bit pity. A little bit expensive.
Review 42:We liked everything, nice staff, very-well decorated and clean, very good breakfast. Great bathroom with old-fashioned bath tube.
Review 43:Wines in the restaurant overpriced.
Review 44:Beautiful hotel, friendly attentive staff, excellent pool (we did have excellent weather) a very comfortable terrace room. A very convenient location in the centre of Laval.
Review 45:It's a very small point, but I would have liked cheese or ham included in the choices at breakfast. Even the smaller hotels I stayed in during my French holiday offered these.
Review 46:I liked the whole atmosphere of the hotel, both inside and out, and its very convenient location en centre ville. The bedroom was spacious and had everything I wanted - except, perhaps a tiny fridge for keeping cold drinks. The staff were very helpful and efficient. I cannot comment on meals generally, as I only had breakfast there. I had all other meals at the home of French friends.
Review 47:Poor management left the quality of service up to the commitment of individual members of staff. Some were very good - some less so. When we arrived we were left at reception for 15 minutes although other staff passed by and ignored us. No one appeared to have overall control of service delivery.
Review 48:Quite, peaceful and relaxed. Good room and facilities. However difficult to get priority in the restaurant and the breakfast was inadequate.
Review 49:Everything shut down on a Sunday - dining room, bar, etc Hotel appeared to be run by one member of staff from reception, who even served breakfast. Breakfast itself was quite meagre and very expensive at the price. No air-conditioning - our bedroom window was small and our room stuffy on a warm night. A free upgrade - there were plenty of rooms available - might have helped to compensate for the lack of dining room and the difficulty of finding somewhere reasonable to eat in the old town on a Sunday evening.
Review 50:Beautiful surroundings - hotel, swimming pool, grounds. Car parking arrangements straightforward. We were allowed to check in before mid-day.
Review 51:Absolutely nothing. Loved everything about this hotel.
Review 52:The hotel is in a perfect location for walking around the city. The rooms are spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The gardens are lovely and being able to have dinner on the terrace was divine. The staff were excellent and would highly recommend if you are staying in Laval
Review 53:Our room was very spare and had minimal clothes storage space. Our room only had enough towels for one guest, so we requested more, which was no problem. Breakfast, although reasonably priced, was minimal. A good hotel for the business traveler, less so for a leisurely getaway.
Review 54:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The dining room was very lovely and served delicious, reasonably-priced cuisine for dinner. The room and facilities were very clean.
Review 55:Room is very poor. I requested to awake. I had no call.
Review 56:No air conditioning
Review 57:Charming hotel, nice restaurant and lovely grounds Staff was wonderful and helpful and very pleasant
Review 58:The staff, the ambience, the room, the food, the grounds.
Review 59:Restaurant Gardens
Review 60:Open hole "window" between room and bathroom.
Review 61:Comfortable bed, exellent kitchen.
Review 62:The bathroom in our room smelled awful.
Review 63:The hotel staff was very accommodating and friendly.
Review 64:Classy place and extremely comfortable and peaceful. Really enjoyed my short stay.
