Review 1：This is a hidden gem of Andalusia and we are so glad that we found it. The reception by the hostel owner was lovely and within a few minutes we were in our room which was quite large with nice ensuite bathroom, table and chairs and a balcony overlooking the garden. It is about 10 minutes walk to the harbour and 5 minutes to the main street where there are a number of eateries. At night everything was quiet, although it was early January and I know that San jose can get very busy in the summer but this hostel is just off the beaten track of the main tourist area. Breakfast was a typical Spanish affair with toast and pate/tomotoes plus fruit, ham, yoghurt, tea, coffee and juice. If you arrive by hire car there is ample free parking on the quiet streets outside which was another bonus to us after having difficulties in other parts of Andalusia. We would definitely return if we are in the area again and certainly recommend it.

Review 2：Very thin walls! Unfortunately the owner was very rude because we gave feedback about the dirty sheets in bed. Not welcoming at all and should not work in hospitality business.

Review 4：This hostal was instantly warm and friendly, once inside the door when you saw the comfy sofa seats and a lovely children's play area with loads of colourful playing gear. Our room was very clean, well endowed with storage areas in a limited space. Room refrigerator a nice bonus. Hostal staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Breakfast, excellent. Great value all round.

Review 7：San Jose is a small, quiet, friendly town. Easy to walk around with a lovely beach. Town & hotel were far better than we expected. Owner was very friendly and courteous even though he could not speak much English. We thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Review 16：Pension is located in a lovely little town called San Jose, close to a town beach. 15 min by car you can get to beautiful Genoveses and Monsul beaches. Pension was super clean, decent breakfast included in the price. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Review 18：Excellent small hotel in five minutes walk from a beach. Our room was spacious and quiet enough. The breakfast was included in the room price - a great choice of meals and tasty coffee were provided. The receptionist is a great man, he works very hard providing much care to every guest and does try to help in any need. In our opinion this hotel is maintained in spotless condition, so undoubtedly we would stay there again.

Review 19：The BED(S)! Firstly, we specifically booked a double but we were sent an email after booking to advise us there were no more doubles and so we could join together two single beds. Secondly and more importantly the mattress was extremely hard, to the point of being painful. We later read similar comments in some reviews.

Review 20：The breakfast was more than ample and the hotel is a little bit quirky, in a good way! As it is slightly away from the main port there is no issue with noise and there was plenty of parking, even though it was high season.

The breakfast, which in our case was included, was good and abundant - excellent tostada com tomate! I surely reccomend this hotel for a staying in San José and visit Cabo de Gata (amazing place!!!!).

Review 45：Lovely little seaside village in a great location to explore Cabo de Gata National Park. Very friendly staff. Nice breakfast included with lots of coffee. Great showers. Easy walk to beach and cafes. We returned for a second night as we enjoyed the place and the scenery around the area so much.

Review 46：This was the winter, and hot water took a very long time to come, and was quite unreliable. San Jose in winter was even more shut up than I expected. It was very dificult to find anywhere open for an evening meal.

San Jose has excellent walking possibilities along the coast and in the hills. The Cabo de Gata natural park is very scenic.
