Review 1:Great hotel in Krems! We stayed there while visiting some wineries and was the perfect place to stay. Walking distance to downtown with free parking. Clean large rooms with nice outside patio. Free wifi and very good complimentary breakfast!! Highly recommend!
Review 2:Nothing. The shower could have been slightly bigger and we didn't have a kettle in the room, but overall it was very nice.
Review 3:Staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was large with good furniture and overall comfort. The location was convenient.
Review 4:Lacked air-conditioning and it was very hot when we visited.
Review 5:Fine Hotel reasonable rate and in good location. Room comfortable but not air-conditioned. Breakfast very good and staff excellent.
Review 6:My only criticism was lack of air con or even a fan. Room was too hot when temp was 36degrees.
Review 7:Good location between Krems and Stein centres. Short walk to railway station and ship station.
Review 8:the weather
Review 9:Not only is the location perfect, walking distance to old town Krems and Stein, but also to railway and biats. They have upgraded the historic house with great soundproof windows, elevator and decor; only lacking air conditioning as do virtually all hotels in Washau valley.
Review 10:We had a "comfort double" room which was great, ours had a couple of chairs and a little low table in a sitting area which we used for our 2 laptops - a little cramped for 2 laptops but we were happy with it and managed. We loved the place. It was quiet and comfortable. Staff was great. Would love to stay here again.
Review 11:- No elevator to each level. We had to carry our heavy luggage up stare. - room is relatively narrow and small. - nothing (ex cup, soap etch.) provided in the room.
Review 12:- Service in the breakfast was very kind and good. - breakfast was good.
Review 13:Krems is a great base for exploring the Wachau Valley and this hotel is a great choice. Easy 10 minute walk from the train station, friendly staff, comfortable rooms and good choice of nice foods at breakfast.
Review 14:No complaints at all.
Review 15:Easy walk from the train station. Clean, quiet, and comfortable room, and great good breakfast. Only a few minutes walk to the city center, and restaurants.
Review 16:"paper-thin" walls, you can here next door's conversations, telly etc.
Review 17:Staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast good choice and quality
Review 18:- some street noise at night with all three very large double-windows open; not a major issue
Review 19:- friendly, helpful reception by family that runs hotel - large, corner room, recently attractively renovated, with very good bathroom facilities - garden patio with tables/chairs - excellent quality, very abundant and high quality breakfast buffet - wonderful location just outside historic city gate; easy walk to center of historic - and very photogenic -Krems - free street parking in front of hotel
Review 20:The hotel is located pretty close to the Old Krems and to the pier where stop the boats cruising the Donau. The hotel is easy to reach by car and it is easy to park nearby (free of charge, asking at the reception). The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was kind and helpful. Breakfast was good and abundant. Not expensive.
Review 21:No dislikes
Review 22:Close to town centre with convenient on site free parking. The bedroom was large with a quaint little dolls house bathroom built inside the room ,and a separate toilet. The breakfast was comprehensive and good, buffet style.
Review 23:The beds were terrible, no comfort at all. Some rooms has the shower in the same room as the bed. Makes the room very moisty and with no air condition it was no good sleep.
Review 24:Very central, good breakfast and very skilled personnel. Special room for the bicycles in the backyard.
Review 25:The night was a tad warm and we missed having air conditioning. But, the windows could be opened.
Review 26:It was a family run hotel and the staff was very helpful and personable. Accommodations were attractive, comfortable, and clean. The hotel was close to the little town so we could walk there. Breakfast was super and I was even served eggs with a little daisy on the plate!
Review 27:wifi was not working very good in the room
Review 28:close to the old town and easy to drive to with car. Good breakfast. Room was ok, maybe little boring decoration. Nice garden on the backside.
Review 29:With no air conditioning, and very warm outdoor temperatures, opening the window was the only way to cool our room at night, so we heard street traffic well into the night.
Review 30:Breakfast was excellent!! Location was fabulous! Also enjoyed the rear courtyard.
Review 31:The owners/staff were very accommodating. They let us park our car even for a day we weren't staying there. The room was exactly what we asked in terms of view, location. The meals were excellent. We loved it.
Review 32:The toilet is away from the bathroom
Review 33:The room , location and food

Review 61:Location to old town
Review 62:There's nothing I didn't like.
Review 63:This was my second trip to this hotel. I'd stay again in a heartbeat. Location is excellent, breakfast plentiful, rooms comfortable, owners friendly.
Review 64:Loved everything about this hotel. The staff were extremely helpful with directions and tourist information. (In English!) The location- short walk to either old town - Steins and Krems; ambiance - traditional yet with modern amenities and great breakfast made our stay very enjoyable
Review 65:Good location especially if you like to walk. 15 minutes to train station, 10 minutes to Danube river cruise to Melk. Great breakfast. Hotel is quiet. Very clean. Great beds!
Review 66:The hotel rooms are cosy and quite comfortable. The staff is friendly and extremely helpfull. The hotel is right on the route of the Donau-Radweg. And, the breakfast is great - they feature seasonly produce and even have dried lime blossoms for you to make your pot of tea.
Review 67:Our standard room, while bright and cheerful, was barely sufficient for 2 adults with smallish suitcases. The biggest unpleasant surprise was finding hairs on the toilet seat and bed.
Review 68:Location was perfect for visiting both historic Krems and the Wachau region and staff were very helpful in pointing out the main attractions and venues for evening meals. The included hotel breakfast was varied, generous, tasty and filling.
Review 69:When I got to the room, it was incredibly hot inside (90-95 degrees and humid) and the window only appeared to open an inch or two. I went to reception to ask if they had a fan, and they did not. I explained that the room was very very hot. (The afternoon sun was shining into room and curtains were open) After getting absolutely no sleep, I found out in the morning that the window actually opens up more than two inches. I asked the woman at the desk about this and she said this is very typical of this region that the windows open up multiple ways. Well, seeing this was my very first trip to this region, I was unaware of this, and there are no instructions posted anywhere. I just wish the woman had made this suggestion the previous night knowing that I was having an issue with the temperature in the room. During my 2 1/2 week trip from Austria to Germany, this was a common occurrence where I would have a question about something, and would only be given a black and white answer, and there was never any "thinking outside the box" to try to solve a problem that the guest had. I still had a great time in this area, but it was frustrating something so simple, and not being able to open up a window, caused a night of agony, and it didn't need to be that way.
Review 70:Hotel was nice and room was very comfortable and updated. Town was beautiful as well. When I told people I was staying the night in Krems, they asked me why? But this town is a great base if you want to cruise the Danube because this is a stop for the river cruises. I did a round trip river cruise which took approx. 4 hours. I also walked around the town which was terrific also. Durnstein and Melk are also nearby.
Review 71:Great location, 3 minutes walk from the gate to the old town, 1 minute by car to the main road and near the river. Cosy room, helpful staff, nice breakfast.
Review 72:We stayed one night on our way to Vienna from Prague and enjoyed ourstay at this hotel. The room was spacious, with a sitting area, decentWiFi, clean, excellent continental breakfast included in the price. The hotel had free parking out front and was easy to find off thehighway. Staff was pleasant. We recommend the Brauhof restaurant whichwas close by the old town gate. Krems is a nice place to walk aroundand see the Danube.
Review 73:The room was very pretty and spacious. The front desk staff was friendly. Although we had a fan in our room, unfortunately the hotel does not have air conditioning. I would recommend the hotel as long as folks know a head of time there isn't air conditioning.
Review 74:I spent two very pleasant nights at this hotel. My room was extremely large, and included a sitting area with a comfortable sofa. The atmosphere is country casual, and there were all the necessary conveniences to make me happy. Everything was sparkling clean. It was also extremely quiet and peaceful, which was a real plus. Staff were friendly and helpful, and parking was available, close and free with the use of the hotel's parking cards left on the dashboard. Breakfast was absolutely splendid, with a buffet full of goodies including some fresh fruit - always a plus. the hotel is well-signed off the road, and located a few minutes walk from the old city center. I found several local restaurants at which to eat, including a strange but interesting Chinese one within a short drive.
Review 75:There was open bathoroom in my room and it was not so convenient. It's more B&B than a hotel but that was no problem.
Review 76:Location is very convenient - 5 minutes from the historical centre of Krems, 5 minutes to the university (there is a short-cut) and also very close to Stein.
Review 77:Very friendly and helpful owners. Very clean and comfortable room, free car parking and a good breakfast, Krems is a great town to visit and the hotel is a great base to explore the region
Review 78:At €86/night, a bit pricey.
Review 79:Acceptable, basic, super-clean room; very good breakfast; kind, helpful, professional staff. The historic centre of Krems is about a 10 minute walk but a pleasent one.
Review 80:About 15minutes walk from rail station and from town centres for either Krems or Stein
Review 81:Very helpful staff, well-modernised hotel with good quality breakfast
Review 82:My girlfriend and I liked this hotel. Situated less than 5 minutes walking distance to town centre. The rooms are nice size and older design in good condition. Walk in shower. No Air Con. Short 5 minute drive to nearby Durnstien and a bit further away (31km) Melk. In Melk there is a monastery called Stift Melk, a huge Palace on top of the hill that is easily visible but not so easy to find the parking. It is a must, the last part of the tour is the church with ceiling frescoes that are amazing. Truly magnificent church.
Review 83:Rooms do not have air-conditioning. There are no ice machines.
Review 84:Hotel has a great location, with easy parking on the street out front. The rooms are clean, and the breakfast is great. Good value.
Review 85:No air condition! Hotel staff should close windows after cleaning, as temperature in the hotel room was far above 30 degrees! Even hotter than outside the hotel...
Review 86:There is no air conditioning so the rooms can be quite warm at night if the weather is hot.
Review 87:Very clean, spacious room that looked over a courtyard in back and was very quiet. The breakfast was one of the best we had in 3 weeks of travel in Austria with fresh strawberries and lots of good cheeses, meats , breads, granola etc. The staff is Very Helpful and friendly --- it is family run and you can tell. Woild recommend it as a good value.
Review 88:The hotel is run by a young family, who with excellent staff, make you more than welcome. All speak excellent English. The establishment is bright, cosy and well located in the town.
Review 89:for some of the rooms, the elevator doesn't go up all the way and you need to drag your luggage up staircases. the rooms are very small (at least, the single bedroom was), no refrigerator, very bare room.
Review 90:they have a nice garden and restaurant, with decent breakfast. they don't overcharge you for anything else, also gives you parking permit cards if you need to park in the street right in front of the hotel. rooms and bedding were very clean, within walking distance of the stadtpark and the city center.
Review 91:I didn't get much sleep because our room faced the back of the hotel, and around 1am there was a lot of noise like rolling heavy hollow items on cobble stones, and bright beacons kept lighting up our room like lightening on a stormy night. This continued until 3am when I got up. The noise had ceased but two staff were sheltering [smoking] under a small shaded area directly outside our room and every time they moved the the search lights lit up the rooms on that side of the building. If you are a light sleeper I suggest you ask for a room at the front of the hotel, or try another hotel.
Review 92:Reception staff and restaurant staff were excellent. Breakfast was the best part of the booking.
Review 93:Good location for reasonable price.Outstanding breakfast buffet. Excellent coffee machine that offers a variety of options. Staff were always ready to help.
Review 94:One tiny suggestion - maybe consider some kind of cosy seating area indoors besides the very formal stark breakfast room setting, where people can relax a bit and meet other guests.
Review 95:Very conveniently-located. Family-owned. Very professionally-run. Owners take immense pride in their hotel and it shows. Happy to provide tourist information. The room are extremely nice indeed, immaculately clean and chicly decorated, no kitsch stuff!!
Review 96:- Old model of tv in the room- no leisure foyer in the hotel
Review 97:- Friendly and professional staff- location close to the Danube University as well as to the Old City of Krems - free parking place available, however, I would not complain if the parking should be paid - long family tradition of the hotel /haus - nice playground in the back yard, although I was alone - quiet area of the hotel location
Review 98:No airconditioning, street noise.
Review 99:Staff , proximity to the park and his- toric centre, BREAKFAST
Review 100:Clean, nice Hotel!
Review 101:Location, Good sized rooms, Good breakfast
Review 102:Perfect, nice & beautiful!!
Review 103:Room size and location were great. Quaint house with charming decor. Owners are nice and truly put care into the home.
Review 104:The room was overheated with no option for adjustment.
Review 105:The breakfast was very good in a beautiful room.
Review 106:Clean, updated, comfortable. The value was outstanding. And the best breakfast in Europe. Try the granola with the berry concoction.
Review 107:In a very good location for exploring Krems and the Wachau. Good and various breakfast
Review 108:Very friendly staff good location, clean, cosy room and a good breakfast buffet
Review 109:Friendly homely feel. Friendly hosts. Lovely decorated room.
