Reviews for La Flambée

Review 1:This is a an establishment with a high opinion of itself. We were handed our key and told we were in the annexe, which wasn't clear at time of booking. The room was dingy and soulless. We asked for tea in our room and were handed a tray to take over ourselves or we could sit in the lobby as there is no bar. Breakfast was awful. Cheap frozen petit pains and brioche straight from the microwave, apple juice only, no orange juice, and a pot of apple puree, like baby food. Other reviews rave about the surroundings but what's in the hotel is what is important, especially the staff. Some good staff training would not go amiss here.....and a rethink about breakfast.

Review 2:The hotel was easy to find

Review 3:Food was disappointing for us as non meat eaters and we felt was over priced. Same fish both nights we ate. Breakfast was presented without choice. We felt guilty asking for orange juice instead of apple and for rejecting the nat. yoghurt and apple purée.

Review 4:Situation. Good choice of wine with meals

Review 5:First night and first seasonal frostr- No hot water, no heating and room had mould on the walls! To their credit, after complaining, they upgraded us to a much better room and sorted out the heating, hot water problems

Review 6:The restaurant

Review 7:It's a typical French style hotel, full of character and little touches. A lovely reception, inside a wonderful wrought iron and glass entrance porch, fabulous stone floors, lovely dining area, fab bedroom, lovely gardens, animals roaming the grounds - goats, dog and cat and some rabbits. So lovely.

Review 8:Food is excellent & if you have set menu its worth every penny of the money, would recommend to anyone, remember though (like most places) they don't serve food between 2pm -7pm not a problem so long as you remember. Staff were very helpful. Grounds to hotel large & nice. Pool & tennis court looked nice although we didn't have time to try out. Our hotel room was dark & noisy (right above restaurant/reception) so I asked to be moved & they moved us straight away no problem -to a quieter room but unfortunately the loo only flushed occasionally. There was a bad smell on the 1st floor in the main hallway to the hotel rooms (maybe replace the carpet) & the some floors/doors creaked so maybe just needs a little tlc, it didn't stop me from sleeping or enjoying my short stay.On the whole a wonderful restaurant & staff excellent.

Review 9:Wifi not working anywhere in building -not a problem for me but frustrating for my partner.

Review 66:Rural setting but also close to the town. Lovely setting for evening meal, good food and friendly staff..

Review 67:Room and bed in the annex was damp. Insects in the room. Checked out early as did not want to spend another night in that room, Hotel was full so we must have been unlucky with the room.

Review 68:Food and service excellent.

Review 69:Nothing really but an interior seating area for a drink would have been nice.

Review 71:Room which we used was small, confort is very limited, television did not work properly.

Review 72:Personnel is efficient and we appreciated the food, although it could be improved in quantity (dinner) and price.Breakfast was very good(excellent bread);scrambled eggs in the morning would be much appreciated. Good bathroom.Very good parking facilities.

Review 73:Hotel situated on Perigeaux road some 3kms from Beaune town centre. Disappointing accomodation in that our standard room was in a dark annexe some 50 metres or so from the main building. Rooms drab and in need of a facelift albeit the en suite had been modernised. Hotel features a swimming pool but this has seen better days and was poorly maitained. Would not stay again

Review 74:Decent restaurant

Review 75:No lounge area to relax in after we had eaten.

Review 79:Comfortable, spacious room and bathroom (large, powerful shower). Restaurant, for both evening meal and breakfast was excellent. Staff were welcoming, friendly.

Review 80:The water feature in the pool was broken and it looked tatty -a shame.Just the odd thing broken or in disrepair took the shine off the hotel -everything else was so lovely. A bit of care and attention would makethis place superb.

Review 81:Relaxed, discrete service. Lovely staff. Clean and comfortable rooms, although not luxury and a bit dated, but nicely decorated neverthelesswith good bathrooms. Great food in the restaurant, lovely gardens and agood pool. We loved our stay.

Review 82:The hotel is located approximately 2.5km from the edge of town, about a 45 minute stroll. Breakfast a little disappointing, as no fresh fruit or cereals

Review 83:The hotel, grounds and swimming pool very well maintained. Set in its own large grounds. No faults at all with the hotel accommodation, all very clean and comfortable. Nice sized room and bathroom

Review 84:Room, though not expensive, cramped for that price. Were advised only one day in advance that there would be a wedding party at the hotel. With a promise to mute the music after 01.00 am, and the hotel full with wedding guests, decided to escape elsewhere. No lounge, bar or sitting facilities except on terrace

Review 85:Location and grounds

Review 86:Breakfast although adequate was exactly the same every day, some choice would have been nice. Disappointed that the pool did not open until 1 June.

Review 87:Hotel was very comfortable and room service / cleanliness was very good. Staff were all excellent and very helpful. We ate in the restaurant on one evening and the food was superb.

Review 88:The owners have a very large dog which could frighten guests. Also a fierce cat which spits at everybody. As we were travelling with our dog we would NOT have reserved this hotel had we known. We had to change rooms because the TV did not work properly (no sound), and no allowance was made for this. Rooms on the side facing the N21 could be noisy. We certainly would not stay here again, and would not recommend this hotel to any dog-owners.

Review 89:The grounds are extremely well kept and pleasant. A pleasant welcome from a young lady.

Review 90:Room was small and with large furniture it made it difficult fo two people to move easily once luggage was in the room. The bathroom lacked sufficient shelf space.
