Reviews for Inter-Hotel de Bordeaux

Review 1:Staff very friendly, hotel very central and you can either park behind the hotel or directly in front of it for a small charge. Room warm and cosy and quiet in the morning.

Review 2:the decor in the room was a little outdated in places , but cannot really moan

Review 3:the reception staff were so nice and very helpful , really made us welcome , and even gave us a free coffee when we were leaving very early in the morning

Review 4:Great location and very accepting over dog staying. Very quiet at night though this was end of October unusually hot weather perfect for a relaxing break with good restaurants close by.

Review 5:No communication from the hotel. There was no confirmation of booking (were reassured by 'phone) and no response to a request for further information about the possibilty of arriving and parking up early. It turned out to be possible the day we arrived - possibly not always.

Review 6:The location in Bergerac is excellent. Secure parking next to the hotel was very reassuring. The room was pleasant clean and comfortable for the price. There is air con, but I don't know how it would cope with a hot summer night.

Review 7:The hotel was comfortable enough but with a coach party staying they kind of took over the only seating area and had no bar as such you just had to ask reception if you wanted a can of beer!

Review 8:Great location right in the centre of Bergerac and we were lucky that our stay coincided with the weekly market which was just amazing for fresh produce and well worth the visit!

Review 9:WIFI not consistent throughout hotel. It would have been nice to have either tea or coffee available in the afternoon especially as they have a wonderful pattisserie right next door!

Review 10:comfortable room, good quality breakfast buffet, the location was ideal with the town center and restaurants within 5 - 7 minutes walk. Owners and staff very helpful, especially Cecile.

Review 11:No bad experience but short of some facilities - no restaurant service or coffee-making facilities.

Review 12:Friendly and helpful staff. An excellent location in the centre of town, and clean rooms.

Review 13:Parking outside is tricky, although they do provide private parking (not complimentary).

Review 14:Only hotel we stayed in on this trip (total of 5) which had a bath as well as a shower! Staff were polite and informative (e.g. with advice on local restaurants).

Review 15:The receptionist the following day was not so happy and helpful.

Review 16:I loved the pool oh so refreshing, at the end of a hot and tiring day. The receptionist was brilliant on our arrival, nothing was too much trouble.

Review 17:No tea & coffee trays in the rooms.

Review 18:Very good stay, within the centre for all the shops and bars, the staff where very helpful and would assist us with directions, Isabella ( Reception) was wonderful and spoke really good English which really helped, our only negative was that they did not have a tea & coffee trays in the rooms, but we survived without.

Review 19:A small issue I have with many hotels not just this one but I wish they would put glass glasses in the room to drink out of not plastic cups!

Review 20:Very friendly reception, we had a comfort room which was huge and the secure parking is spacious and easy to park in which isn't always the case in France! The hotel is well located for the town and it was very quiet as we were at the back of the property and the air conditioning was very good. The girls loved the pool.

Review 21:We always feel that we would like more storage space in the way of shelves or drawers.

Review 22:We stayed at this hotel 5 years ago. we liked it then and it is still as good if not better. Good room and bathroom. Good to have secure parking at street level. Pleasant terrace for breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful - same manager as five years ago.

Review 23:It is in easy walking distance of the old town, adjacent to the lovely market. The swimming pool was particularly welcome after a hot day's sightseeing, eating and drinking.

Review 24:The hotel bar was not manned and you have to ask at reception for your order.

Review 25:The staff were friendly and helpful. They changed one room for my group even though the hotel was to be full. We were recommended the best restaurants and advised places of interest. Around the pool, we were asked if we should like to have drinks brought to us. These were very reasonably priced.

Review 26:Not having tea making facilities in the room

Review 27:A lovely hotel. The staff were very helpful and the accomodation and outside area was outstanding. Much better than the pictures on the internet.

Review 28:Had a lovely individual feel with tastefully decorated rooms retaining a traditional French style. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the buffet breakfast was very good. The old town of Bergerac was a short walk away where we found some amazing cafes, restaurants and creperies. Would very happily stay here again.

Review 29:There was nothing really that I didn't like.

Review 30:Room was very good. lots of towels. The breakfast was good. Parking was good. Staff very helpful. hotel position was excellent.

Review 31:Room was very hot and air conditioning was poor

Review 32:Very helpful staff particularly when we thought we had lost a wallet. The receptionist went out of her way to help

Review 33:The breakfast was okay but could have done with more variety. The lift was out of order and had been for nearly a week, which was disappointing.

Review 34:The staff were excellent, always helpful, happy to chat, and always with a smile. The hotel has a relaxed atmosphere that made it a pleasant place to spend time. The location close to the old town is good for the price.

Review 35:The location was great. Walking distance to lovely restaurants and old quarter of Bergerac. Staff really friendly and room nice and clean with air con which was a major bonus during the heat wave. Pool area and terrace were lovely

Review 36:Google maps directions not very good so quite difficult to find when it's your first time driving in France.

Review 37:Great location, at the top of the town. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Review 38:No room safe or tea making facilities. Ensuite very small but adequate and clean. Breakfast a bit basic but plenty of it, no hot food, except boiled eggs

Review 39:Reception staff very pleasant and helpful. Location within walking distance to town centre and railway station. Air conditioning a god send in 37 degrees heat. Lovely garden swimming pool.

Review 40:Finding out Breakfast was an extra on checkout. On check in we were told the times of Breakfast with no mention of additional cost. The Breakfast was very basic and not worth €9 per person

Review 41:Free Wifi and Location

Review 42:we checked in quite late so no interaction with the front desk, but they very kindly left us all the necessary info to get into the hotel and a heads up regarding the parking payment in the morning as we were on a city street. beds were comfortable, but the pillows were a bit flat and hard (however, i am a pillow person so others might not be bothered). breakfast was nice and a reasonable value.

Review 43:Room was smaller than expected as we had booked a 'comfort' room. BUT main problem was the room smelt! Needed airing or a room freshener, previous occupant seemed not to have bothered about personal hygiene.

Review 44:Breakfast at €9 pp was very good value, masses of choice and as much you wanted. Staff very helpful and friendly some with excellent English - and forgiving as we tried to use our French. Recommended good restaurants.

Review 45:Room was too hot and too dark. Air conditioning didn't work and the gentleman on reception in the morning seemed to think it was normal to have non functioning air conditioning.

Review 46:Location, Hotel Car Park, Very helpful lady receptionist.

Review 47:Receptionist didn't speak any English. Overcharged us until we showed him Booking.com email. Room very small.

Review 48:Location in centre of town. Parking was secure.

Review 49:Hotel generally looked and felt dated, and room was the same, though clean and reasonable comfortable. Small bathroom, with nowhere to hang toilet bags or towels once used.

Review 50:Pleasant staff, secure parking (at cost), convenient for exploring centre of Bergerac. Breakfast was average but fine.

Review 51:The room decor was so ugly but it would not stop me from using this hotel again.

Review 52:Comfortable, clean, very large room, great location for town and railway station, breakfast was delicious and ample, service was friendly and helpful and spoke adequate English. As far as rating a small french hotel this place was exceptional.

Review 53:No bad experience; decor was a little 'shabby' particularly in the bathroom but everything was clean.

Review 54:Well situated near town centre (close to market) yet just distant enough to be quiet. Old town and quay area pleasant 10-15min stroll away (uphill on way back). Free wifi worked without problem on top floor. Staff helpful and courteous in French and in English.

Review 55:I fell ill during my stay and the staff was very attentive and helpful. It felt like a family run hotel, not a chain. The location is brilliant, it is comfortable and pleasant. The buffet breakfast is very good.

Review 56:No Tea/Coffee making facility in rooms.

Review 57:Excellent location within easy walking distance of town centre and all amenities including local markets. All staff extremely friendly and helpful. Good continental breakfast. Attractive Pool and Patio area. Very comfortable bed, and bedroom

Review 58:Not a dislike of what the hotel offered but, for a recently refurbished hotel, it felt as if the owners had held too tight a grip on the interior design costs.

Review 59:Great location just a short stroll to the town centre. Easy access and parking with public car park opposite. Comfortable room with all facilities.

Review 60:rooms were a little on the small side but no other complaints

Review 61:nice rooms, pool great for a quick dip and breakfast was pretty good. Location was really handy, easy to find and park and only a short walk from the old town

Review 62:Basic bar facilities but there is one over the road

Review 63:Quiet part of town with easy access to the hotel and parking. Good spacious room, easy walk to old town centre with a wide choice of restaurants.

Review 64:No complaints at all! However, had room overlooking side terrace - rooms at front might be slightly noisy from traffic.

Review 65:Easy walk from station and the old town, in a leafy square. Lift, peaceful garden with swimming pool, and plenty of places to chat or read quietly indoors and out. Excellent buffet breakfast. Very helpful staff.

Review 66:Getting to it by car. We had hire cars that we were dropping off but we thought it would be easier to take our bags to hotel first. A major mistake as we have no experience with driving in old cities with bolards etc and no French. Very frustrating for an hour or so driving around and around. Eventually saw how a local lowered the bollards to get through and got as close to the hotel as we could.

Review 67:The position was excellent for our 3 day stay in Bordeaux. Very quiet, clean and comfortable.

Review 68:The bed was small and not very comfortable. No bar or evening restaurant.

Review 69:It was 10 minutes pleasant walk to the historic old town of Bergerac. Nice hotel with lovely helpful staff. Great swimming pool and superb breakfast.

Review 70:Wish we could have stayed longer.

Review 71:I liked the fact that the staff were kind and encouraging to my poor command of the French language, willing to help as I got confused and always ready to help in excellent english. Service could not be faulted. Facilities are great and it was only our desire to get out and see the sights of the Dordogne that stopped us making use of the pool as it looked very tempting. Inter-Hotel Bordeaux is certainly up to the standard of this beautiful and friendly area.

Review 72:Lack of tea/coffee making facilities in rooms. Lack of proper bar.

Review 73:Location close to both centre and railway station. Shops even closer and markets are right outside of hotel. All staff we encountered were very helpful with excellent English.

Review 74:Very few gripes. The pillow was a bit hard but I used the cushions on the bed instead. There was a slight smell of drains coming up from the basin but on the whole everything was lovely.

Review 75:The Hotel is well placed and the rooms small but adequately furnished. Breakfast was good value for money and the breads delicious - croissants, pain au chocolat, baguettes etc. Air conditioning was a bonus, we did not really need it at the end of September. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we had a most enjoyable time.

Review 76:The staff was very helpful and friendly. Received excellent service. I would recommend this place and in the future if I return to Bergerac I will stay at this place. Perfect!!

Review 77:A small gripe regarding the WiFi in that it was unstable and unreliable in most parts of the hotel apart from the lobby area. A bit frustrating but it's probably easily rectified.

Review 78:Ideally located, only a couple of minutes walk from the town centre. The garden and pool area was a great place to relax after a day out. Our room wasn't the largest we have had but it ticked all the boxes for cleanliness and it was reasonably furnished. Bathroom was more than adequate and spotlessly clean. The attitude, efficiency and friendliness of the staff was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble. Thoroughly recommended.

Review 79:Although the breakfast offered more than a typical French breakfast some of the croissants seemed stale.

Review 80:The hotel is convenient for both the old and new town and was only a short taxi ride from the station.

Review 81:There could have been more choice for breakfasts.

Review 82:A very positive impression as soon as we arrived - we were expected, there was no form filling that you usually get, just a warm welcome, useful information and the keys so that we could settle in. The location is very good, on a large square where there is a market a couple of times a week (we were never troubled by noise though) and on the edge of the historic town centre and so well placed for restaurants and attractions. There was always parking available on the square. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Review 83:The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the old town and has excellent secure parking facilities. The air-conditioning is easy to use, the pool pleasant to sit by and they serve a good continental buffet breakfast.

Review 84:small bedrooms, glass door to bathroom, no fridge, british channels on tv

Review 85:Nice location, friendly staff, helpful with information and language, plentiful breakfast

Review 86:We stayed for 6 days to attend a local wedding & also enjoy a holiday in the area. Loved the location & facilities the hotel has to offer & certainly recommend it to others. Several other wedding guests also used the hotel & we found we needed assistance to help us get the wedding (hairdressers, taxis etc) and the hotel staff were more than helpful with our needs. J&R

Review 87:The bed was very uncomfortable. The AC was very weak. Room seemed a little dingy; it's clean enough but needs an update.

Review 88:Staff were very accommodating and efficient. Breakfast was good value for a continental style. It was well priced. Parking easy and on site. Pool area nice.

Review 89:Lift too small. It would have been nice to have a bar in the hotel. The grass and garden around the swimming pool needs some attention. Duvet too hot

Review 90:The staff were very helpful, friendly and patient ,as my French is limited, and this made me feel at ease Breakfasts were very good and taken in a relaxed atmosphere. Location very good. Tres Bien.

Review 91:We had one problem in that one room had been smoked in by the previous guests. Windows had been left open and they offered scented candles and then gave us a discount.

Review 92:Good rooms and location, helpful staff, secure parking at back. All in all a good place to stay.

Review 93:Nothing

Review 94:We arrived late and the receptionist was very helpful, saving us a parking space. Some reviews have said it is dated but we thought it exuded French charm. The breakfast was good value at €9. The location was perfect and at the back of the hotel it was quiet

Review 95:Breakfast was a bit limited in terms of choice.

Review 96:Great location. Pool was nice to cool off at the end of the day and we especially liked the hotel parking at the back of the hotel; very convenient. Bedrooms were basic but clean and presentable.

Review 97:Rooms very very small, no tea /coffee facility's not suitable for family's with young children .breakfast very basic for the price.

Review 98:It was very central ,staff were nice .

Review 99:Slightly dated, was obviously staying in an older room. Hairdryer wasnt great so take your own. Breakfast was lacking especially for €12 each...reception had made out breakfast was included but had been added to bill on leaving, wish we'd eaten at a local patisserie instead!

Review 100:Hotel staff were nice & friendly. Room was nice amd spacious.

Review 101:The street the hotel is on is not as scenic as the nearby historic area. If you park on the street at night, be aware that there are extra parking restrictions some nights due to a street market on some mornings.

Review 102:The hotel was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The room was small by US standards but average by European standards. The location is a few blocks from the train station and a couple blocks from the historic part of town. Bergerac is a small town with some scenic areas, including medieval buildings. There are many restaurants, patisseries, and boulangeries within a block or two. The woman at the reception desk was very friendly and helpful - it was easy to communicate with her in English.

Review 103:Parking needs to be pre-booked. You can park on the street but restrictions apply which limit your freedom to come and go as you please. No mini bar or safe. Nice pool area but the pool was freezing during our stay as it is was not heated so we were not able to use it.

Review 104:Convenient location. Excellent sized room. Very comfortable.

Review 105:The room was very noisy, on questioning in the morning we were told there had been a wedding party upstairs and they had been noisy. She apologised but that was it. They were obviously partying and dancing above us all night, very little sleep was had by anyone.

Review 106:Excellent receptionist on arrival, friendly, helpful. Evening staff didn't speak though. Breakfast was good.

Review 107:Nothing although didn't have breakfast as bit over-priced for standard buffet. But lots of nice cafes nearby. Also didn't use pool.

Review 108:This hotel is located in the centre of Bergerac perfectly placed to watch France's final game before crashing out of football's World Cup on a big screen in the marketplace/carpark opposite. The room was small but clean but the staff were exceptionally helpful and accommodating directing us to very good restaurants in the old town just a 5 minute walk away. Would definitely return here and recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet comfortable night's sleep in the heart of this lovely town

Review 109:Parking - no indication on booking.com website that you needed to reserve a space in the hotel car park before arrival (for which a charge is made). The public car park and spaces outside the hotel are all chargeable. The public car park cannot be used on market days, so difficult to find a parking space if you can't park in the hotel car park.

Review 110:Location - the hotel was within walking distance of the old part of Bergerac. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 111:The hotel was 10 minutes from town centre and train station which suited our needs. The room was more than adequate for our short stay and the breakfast was very good. A pool at the hotel was a bonus after a hot day. In all a very well managed hotel and would definitely stay again

Review 112:Very basic amenities, poor room, small in size with very hard mattress on bed and nasty little pillows. This was meant to be a superior room too! There was very little choice at breakfast. Be aware they do not have a kitchen, so nothing cooked unless you boil yourself an egg and all self service. Definitely budget end hotel.

Review 113:Friendly staff

Review 114:Would be nice if dinner could be provided, although plenty of choice of eateries in the old town

Review 115:Friendly helpful staff, good breakfast and peaceful green sitting area around the pool

Review 116:Very helpful efficient staff. Had to curtail the stay due to illness and no problem with amending reservation. Will definitely be there again.

Review 117:A French/ British hotel where the staff spoke perfect English with a great location and easy parking and a good size room

Review 118:Nice comfortable hotel, convenient for the town.

Review 119:the staff where excellent and went beyond the call of duty to us as guests

Review 120:Convenient location. Secure parking.

Review 121:Location, good breakfast and friendly and helpful staff.

Review 122:Clean and comfortable, centrally located. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a wonderful Saturday morning market near the church.

Review 123:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Secure car parking available.

Review 124:It would be nice to have tea making facilities in the room for late night hot drink and early morning tea

Review 125:Very clean and comfortable

Review 126:N/A

Review 127:Very helpful staff. Having a private car park is a definite plus.

Review 128:The excellent help from the staff.

Review 129:Didn't like that for a small town at €90 (£65) per night that breakfast wasn't included in the price.

Review 130:Good location and cheap street parking.
