Reviews for Casas Rurales Hermigua

Review 1:After one use towels smelled like mildew, but it was nice they provided towels in general

Review 2:The orange tree, the views, location, and very comfortable apartment

Review 3:At 40 Euros the 'cleaning fee' is a bit more than one would usually expect.

Review 4:The location and view is stunning - and the house itself is very nice. Comfy bed - lots of space - pleasant. Overall I would definitely recommend it. And though there was only two of us on the trip there's definitely space for 4 overall - and maybe even 5 with the fold down bed.

Review 5:The location in just stunning, it's close to lots of walking routes, the cottage itself is very comfortable and clean. We will definitely be returning.

Review 6:I hate to offer any criticism but to be fair to readers. I am strictlyno smoking on Booking.com and don't accept a whiff of stale tobaccoin a room. Self-catering is different and Spain is not a no-smokingcountry. I found that the lingering smell in the lounge was only therewhen you first opened the door and was never in the bedroom or bathroom.I do hope this doesn't put people off.

Review 7:Two things: location and level of support from the ownerThis would be described in England as a local country cottage in a genuine village (i.e. not full of tourists). Hermigua is in a steep sided valley with banana plantations. Step out if the front door for a beautiful view including mountains, palm trees and flowers The owner is Isabel who also works with Silvie at the local very nice hotel. Provided lots of information before I arrived, arranged for me to collect the key from the hotel and be shown the property. Stayed in contact during my stay and invited me to a complimentary breakfast at the hotel. Also, if you have a car, Hermigua is a great location to get around all parts of La Gomera.

Review 8:Car parking is on a road with a steep gradient reached by a sharp turn off the main (narrow) road. Care is required but all worth it for the wonderful location of this cottage.

Review 9:The property's nearest neighbours are over 100 metres away up the hill. We enjoyed the views, the tranquillity and the privacy. We could reach public transport and village restaurants, shops and cafes with care by foot by following the steep path down the hill. By car it was a five minute drive. There were good facilities for cooking and washing clothes - we will pack fewer clothes next time! The accommodation was comfortable. Staff at a nearby hotel picked us up when we arrived by bus and were always on hand to help as they did when we needed to change car hire plans. Hermigua is very quiet and the people laid back and friendly. It's a very relaxing holiday location and we will revisit the island next year. Despite it being high season we saw very few cars on the roads wherever we travelled on the island. It's a very scenic and relaxing destination.

Review 10:In order to get to the house one has to drive a very narrow road. The parking area is very small and is used by the neighbors. Carrying the luggage between the house and the parking area was a horrible experience. The worst thing, however, were the bugs. There were centipedes entering the house constantly. We had to kill tens of them every day. There were also other kinds of bugs, thin ones we don't even have a name for. They seemed to live on the pillows on the chairs in the house and attacked the textiles that we happened to put on the chairs. We were very stressed because we feared we might bring bugs home with us. Fortunately this doesn't seem to have happened.

Review 11:The views were great. The cold weather made the house cold but fortunately there were two portable heating devices. The wifi worked well and there was a washing machine for clothes. The staff was helpful.

Review 12:The access to the property is via a very steep road and them a winding ( mostly unmade path) down a steep hillside. Hence the suggestion to travel light and not take heavy suitcases.

Review 13:Beautiful quiet position with excellent facilities and a great view down the valley to the sea. A real get away from it all place.

Review 14:We loved our stay at house Fraille 1, the house is nice and had all the facilities you would expect in a holiday home and more. The bed was the comfiest I have ever had on any holiday. The view from the house was beautiful and I loved the fruit trees and beautiful flowers outside on the terrace. The woman who met us when we arrived (Sylvie?) was incredibly helpful and lovely, she helped us hire a car and gave us some very good advice about how to make the most of our stay on La Gomera. I would definitely return and I would definitely recommend staying here to friends if they are going to La Gomera.

Review 15:There wasn't anything at all to complain about.

Review 16:The cottage was in the heart of the community - very natural and rustic. There was a small supermarket very close by with a wide selection of goods. The cottage was very clean and the towels and sheets were spotless. There was a hair dryer, kettle and even proper drinking mugs! The use of the washing machine meant that we could travel quite light. Would definitely recommend the cottage, the village and the island without hesitation.

Review 17:Beautiful views in all directions Private yet only minutes from "main" road and local shops etc

Review 18:Peaceful private location with panoramic views. Quiet village with basic amenities. Good access to walking routes.

Review 19:View

Review 20:Very helpful communicative staff. Good facilities including washing machine and drying lines and racks.

Review 21:Incredible views from the lounge, and a good location.

Review 22:dead worms kept appearing on the floors every morning, especially in the bathroom. The house is very old - a good and bad thing. The house was dark and we couldn't see the wonderful views because of small windows and surrounding vegetation. There was no cleaning or changing of bedding towels during our 7 night stay

Review 23:space was good and the location was great for walkers. The house is very attractive externally and quite well kitted out.

Review 24:The hot water ran out if we showered and washed up. But we learned to let this reheat and to relax!

Review 25:The view from the full length windows of the house was incredible - right down the valley to the sea! The owners are very friendly, there was a lot of space, the kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfortable, the terrace was well linked. It was within easy access of the village and shops but on it's own little plot of land surrounded by gardens.

Review 26:Rough, steep path when carrying suitcases up and down. Narrow road down to village.

Review 27:Great location with fantastic views from veranda. Very peaceful and relaxing.

Review 28:No double bed it's 2 singles pushed together.

Review 29:Very friendly owner nothing too much trouble. A wonderfully quiet house with everything we needed. It's a steep set of stairs to the house not a problem for us but then it's steep everywhere in the area indeed on the island

Review 30:The apartment was quite dark, a few things were off- no soap, the wifi never worked, it got a little cold in night time w thin sheets, the coffiemaker didnt really work etc

Review 31:Friendly personelle, good email communication w the owner, the town of hermigua is wonderful, rustic apartment

Review 32:Location of the cottage was excellent, great views from the balcony. Cottage was spacious and the kitchen was good!

Review 33:All good. La Gomera is a mysterious island and the location of this apartment is beautiful, with amazing views.

Review 34:A little bit cold in the house

Review 35:Beautiful view from the terrace. Close from the ocean and national park.

Review 36:It's a steep walk to the road and restaurants.

Review 37:The location is terrific. Great views

Review 38:Comfortable and fully equiped apartment with own laundery.WIFI free. Nice place situated in valley.

Review 39:- the beds could have been more comfortable

Review 40:- very spacious house - amazing rooftop terrasse - great location close to the national park
