Reviews for Apartahotel Vistamar San José
Review 1:Bathroom needs renovation. It was in poor shape and not cleaned well. The water in the shower was lukewarm. The heating did not work in the apartment and the manager had to bring in room heaters. On the whole a very disappointing experience. Thankfully, we were there just one night!
Review 2:The location was great with excellent view of the Mediterranean sea.
Review 3:Unfortunately the hot water system did not reach either of the two bathrooms and was only just warm in the kitchen., which we did report when we left
Review 4:Layout of the apartment, comfort and view. A fifteen minute walk into the centre, five minutes from a sandy beach. Large outdoor space with table and chairs.
Review 5:The town was very closed (which was kind of to be expected at the end of October), which meant that everything was open was at the opposite end of town & our end was a ghost town.
Review 6:View from our room. Helpful staff who muddled through happily with their limited English & our almost non-existent Spanish.
Review 7:Plumbing smells at times in the bathroom.
Review 8:Lovely views over the bay from the balcony. Comfortable well equipped apartment with secure parking. Easy walk into the village centre and beach.
Review 9:Not a single bad moment.
Review 10:Great location, very close to beach, 20 min walk to town - shops, restaurants. Apartments have all you need, full kitchen, nice furniture. Huge balcony with sea view. All in a classic "whitewashed" andalusian village. Very nice people. 2 swimming pools. Free parking. We needed an apartment to cook our food and it was just perfect.
Review 11:Be careful of the winds that whip up during the night and will leave any washing / clothing left out scattered everywhere along with the outdoor furniture , nothing to do with the hotel , just a warning.
Review 12:Friendly place in a lovely old town with superb views from our apartment on the fifth floor , huge terrace . Whilst not super modern inside the apartment was comfortable , good air con , slightly dated furniture but that's not the point , good value .
Review 13:We were there in April and unfortunately it was super windy so we couldn't take advantage of using the bikes or the mini golf course (it's on the roof).
Review 14:They have lots of great things to do at the hotel. There's a jacuzzi, swimming pool, ping pong, mini golf, bikes, etc. Our 3 bedroom apartment was fully equipped and had a great view.
Review 15:It was on the other side of the village to all the bars and restaurants!
Review 16:Good price. Good location. Nice and Quiet in off season! Helpful staff. Huge apartment with Wash machine in the kitchen and everything.
Review 17:We stayed in low season, so the main town was very quiet. Nothing to do with the hotel though.
Review 18:Beds were comfortable, even though they were 2 singles. Wifi was good, and view was perfect.
Review 19:WiFi connection was poor, and the linen etc a bit tired, but at 49€ per night for a decently equiped flat, you cant complain.
Review 20:We had the hotel to ourselves. Staff helpful and our flat was warm.Cafe etc closed, but central San Jose was only a lovely 10 minute walk along the town beach, and just 20 mins in the other direction got us onto some of the best beaches in Spain. Deserted and gorgeous.
Review 21:Nothing - however people should be aware that the main strip' in San Jose would be a bit of a walk.
Review 22:Everything - the kitchen, balcony and large shower/tub.
Review 23:If you are into modern all inclusive resorts don't come here. You just go to the supermarket, buy your groceries and wine and just live the retired life we all dream of. There is not a single thing we didn't like.
Review 24:The view, the location, the terrace, the bed, the washing machine, the beach 150 feet away, parking free and secure, laying in bed at night and hearing nothing but ocean through our windows. This place has everything you are looking for when you are ready to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the westernized big cities of Spain.
Review 25:nothing to dislike
Review 26:friendliness of staff. great tostadas for breakfast. close to the cliffwalks. easy to walk to centre of San Jose. well equipped kitchen
Review 27:The air conditioning didn't work very well in the bedroom but was fine in the lounge.
Review 28:The apartment was large; all rooms were large and well furnished. The balcony was also roomy with a great view.
Review 29:Very disappointed that our apartment got no sun whatsoever. So be warned if you go later than summer and like breakfast in the sun don't go for 304! Also our apartment and others beside it had the sea view obscured by a big new house! And we did pay the extra for sea view.
Review 30:Loved the proximity to the beach, and quiet setting, the willing and friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and that there was parking on site. Also liked the quiet bathroom, with no relentlessly noisy extractor fan.
Review 31:Our balcony did not have the best views - some rooms have better views so it would be wise to choose in advance.
Review 32:Very nice staff. Comfortable, spacious, well equipped twin bedroomed apartment. The second bathroom was a real plus.
Review 33:Wifi was *extremely* spotty inside the apartment. Very few eating/shopping options at that end of town. No kettle in kitchen. Water from faucet tastes unpleasant - this might be a small town thing though. Easy to buy water from local Tabac or in town.
Review 34:Apartment was outside of the centre, and close to a smaller, quieter beach in San Jose. Perfectly located to walk to Genoveses (30 min), drive to Monsul (10-15 min). Can highly recommend the latter, such an awesome beach. Everything in apartment was basic, but provided us with almost everything we needed. Staff were helpful, and friendly, and worked hard to communicate when our limited Spanish broke down.
Review 35:Looking a little old and not modern, but we were really not there that much! Sheets were stained.
Review 36:Location View from apartment Parking Price Pool Easy to walk to town
Review 37:Onsite beer price is too expensive for size of serving - flies at pool but there are massive amounts of flies all over San Jose (not their fault).
Review 38:Very friendly staff, large 2 bedroom apartment with a great deck overlooking Sea and pool. Would return without hesitation - nice to have space to spread out - wish we could have stayed longer.
Review 39:No breakfast due to low season
Review 40:Good views. Spacious apartment
Review 41:bar closed
Review 42:value for money and it was well presented with a full set of equipment
Review 43:Nothing!
Review 44:Great quiet location short walk to the town and close to beaches
Review 45:Bit far from centre of town. Smell of old cigarette smoke. Uncomfortable bed.
Review 46:View, pool, kitchen
Review 47:Location, very friendly staff, the mountainbikes, beautiful views!!
Review 48:Space, glorious seaviews and value for money..... So glad we went to San Jose and not one of the other villages.
Review 49:Lumpy bed and loud from wind.
Review 50:Good junction to beach
Review 51:Restaurant cloced
Review 52:Lagre room
Review 53:Sea view, minutes to beach, 15 min walk to main town.
Review 54:The TV remote didn't work in one of the bedrooms.
Review 55:Terrace had a fantastic view.
Review 56:Well perhaps the lack of Wifi in some areas is, in this day and age, a bit of a downer, but on the other hand getting away from modern technology is perhaps a plus.
Review 57:Second stay in these excellent apartments, in the magical Cabo de Gata region. San Jose is all within walking distance, with a beach nearby, and the Apartments have TWO swimming pools if the Med is not your thing! Local beaches full of reminders of some of our favourite films and Garcia Lorca wrote several plays in the area. Great place!!!
Review 58:No kettle!..
Review 59:Location and views, well furnished apartment cleaned every day, good sized balcony/patio with table/chairs and loungers, well equipped kitchen, underground parking and lifts, plenty of lights and power sockets, good shower and security and a decent pool....even crazy golf on the roof!! Near to bars and restaurants in town and close to beach.
Review 60:the hotel is dated and the facilities are very old.. furniture needs to be replaced and the sheets in a hotel should always be white, not green..
Review 61:the view was nice
Review 62:no water boiler (for tea etc.), wifi poor to very poor, shower/bathroom facilities rather old and uncomfortable
Review 63:optimal for hiking as well as beach trips, cozy apartements
Review 64:We were traveling in the off-season so it was very quiet in the town, and the reception wasn't 24 hours like it's advertised.
Review 65:Very well-equipped, spacious apartment in a beautiful town and even more beautiful natural park. I would definitely return.
Review 66:good size apartment, with large balcony looking over lovely sea view. Underground car park with elevator to all floors so easy to unload the car. Pool looked good too early in year to use! Hot tub needs to be booked 5 hours in advance so if you are going on a long walk book before you go
Review 67:We did not get an upgrade to a sea-view room - even if I think all appartments were empty at that time (winter). WLAN could be a bit better - but was OK.
Review 68:Nice appartments, equipped with everything you need, nice facilities.
Review 69:Leaves in pool, development site over the road, no on site facilities for eating at this time of year.
Review 70:Large spacious rooms, close to beach, accommodating staff, parking on site. Generally very clean and lovely large towels!
Review 71:We were on a hiking trip through the park and one of the very few tourist in town, no other guests in hotel but great service a very warm welcome! They offered help for everything. The apartement was clean and very complete, everything worked well.
Review 72:wifi kept dropping out. Hot water ran out very quickly. shower was a bit pokey but ok.
Review 73:location, sea view from the room was fantastic. Free parking right out front. Room was large. Beds comfy.
Review 74:I would have preferred a firmer mattress.
Review 75:It had everything you would need in a self contained apartment and a terrace with a great view. 2 pools. Quiet rooms, far enough away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to walk there if that´s what you want.
Review 76:Very well equipped and presented apartment accommodation with lovely views. Particularly liked the fac t we were given an aparrtment upgrade as they had the availability.
Review 77:No shops around in the area, at least in May.
Review 78:We staid for 5 days in May. Very good location a bit far from the center of the town but close to the beach and very close to the natural beaches of Monsul and genoveses
Review 79:Nice place for the holiday , seaview from the balcony is beutiful, godd equiped kitchen, free parking. There are two very nice beaches in the near National Park (without hotels).
Review 80:The apartment was very cozy and cute, but still had plenty of space. The kitchen was full equipped and the staff was very friendly and helpful! The views from the apartment were exceptional!
Review 81:The hotel staff are not terribly friendly. When we asked for an apt that actually had sun on the balcony they insisted they were full and couldn't accommodate us. We persisted and eventually they moved us. The rooms and bedding are shabby and the bathrooms in real need of renovation, not to mention a thorough cleaning. We were next to reception which was very noisy early in the morning. All in all I wouldn't stay here again.
Review 82:The view was great and we liked San Jose and its surroundings very much. We also had sime excellent food in the village.
Review 83:Welcome wasn't great. Arrived in high winds but despite the hotel having few guests we were put in the most exposed room. This meant that we couldn't use the expansive balcony. Hotel is a long walk into the village but the on site cafe was closed for breakfast.
Review 84:Clean and comfortable. Good parking. Surrounding area is stunning
Review 85:Perhaps need oven in apartment especially for longer stays. Only had long weekend. Sofa and chair could be upgraded. Not very comfortable.
Review 86:Views from the apartments. Seafront and harbour. Location being in a country park. Plenty of things to do and see.
Review 87:Clean, well-equipped apartment very close to a lovely little beach. A walk away from most bars and restaurants. Lovely view of the beach. Two pools.
Review 88:We had difficulty with the cooking hob which was difficult to operate
Review 89:Sea views, but only from floors 3,4 and 5
Review 90:Limited space around beds
Review 91:Good views.
Review 92:Clean good value for spring holiday
Review 93:We appreciated having a comfortable and clean apartment in a very pleasant location, out of season.
Review 94:There was no sun on our balcony for the whole stay. It is sad when you go there to enjoy sun.
Review 95:Everything. It was a nice cosy place.i would definitely recommend it.
Review 96:wifi not reliable. not much hot water but minor points.
Review 97:location, easy with vehicle. the view.
Review 98:Nothing.
Review 99:Fantastic location for walking to the beach, great views, apartment had everything we needed. Cleaning service superb.
Review 100:Very quiet place, free garage, excellent view from balcony, good equipment for breakfast
Review 101:It was a little tired and worn
Review 102:The apartment had an awesome terrace and view of the sea and town
Review 103:View. Balcony.
Review 104:1.Location perfect for our needs 2.Restaurants within short walking distance 3.Good beaches within walking 4.Pleasant and knowledgeable staff
Review 105:A bit dated.
Review 106:Comfortable and good value for money, good location with excellent parking.
