Reviews for Résidence Pierre & Vacances La Forêt
Review 1:The only complaint I would have was about the internet connection. Although we paid for the high speed connection (15 euros for 3 days), the connection was very unreliable & continually dropped out
Review 2:The apartment was very comfortable, well laid out & spacious. The location was good, only 75m to the nearest lift/piste. There were shops, a bakery, ski hire shop & a good restaurant very close by.
Review 3:We had a two bedroom apartment for the two of us, would have been cosy had we been seven.
Review 4:Proximity to the slopes, well equipped apartment, well placed for Flaine Foret and Forum restaurants and shops. Our fifth floor apartment had a great birds eye view of the centre of the resort below.
Review 5:Rooms are extremely tired, functional but shabby. Building and resort isn't pretty. Lack of bars restaurants nearby compared to other resorts
Review 6:Ski /boot room, location for skiing, staff were lovely and helpful when reception was open, functional apartments
Review 7:flat needs a brush up, Dirty carpet, bath needs to be redone before it will be seriusly damaged by water
Review 8:great location, nice South facing view with balcony. well equipped kitchenette. good skilocker and included boot dryer. Nice and friendly staff
Review 9:Apartment looked tired and ready for refurbishment. Carpets need professionally cleaning or replacing. Very uncomfortable beds, slept very badly the whole time we were there.
Review 10:Very friendly & helpful staff. Well equipped kitchen. Good location a short walk to the slopes.
Review 11:Everything a bit run down. We had moody patches in the corner of our living room. The main cupboard door didn't open. The telephone was not connected and they couldn't do anything about it. The internet was not working. Loud music coming from pub below at night.
Review 12:Convenient location Supermarket next to lobby
Review 13:Close to slopes, ski school and ski hire. Lovely warm boots in the mornings. Sofa bed was comfy and hassle free. You could buy a baguette for breakfast without even putting shoes on.
Review 14:WiFi was as bad as it gets Initially charged for the WiFi and when I complained the receptionist said they had no record of me paying and thus it was "impossible" that I've paid. It was a highly unpleasant converstation, implying that I was lying. The day after they appologized for their error and refunded me my money. They had tiny charges for simple things that putting your luggage in a storage room for 1.50€ a luggage. The money the get for this must be worth less than the annoyance and work it creates. The room wasn't that fresh, with stained carpet and generally worn interior.
Review 15:Location Ski and boot lockers with dryers and a place to sit down to put on boots Layout of room
Review 16:Wifi had to be paid for and was very poor. They seemed to be having problems with the lifts, as myself and my daughter got stuck for up to 10 mins on three occasions. Shops in resort quite expensive.
Review 17:good location. Staff polite and Spoke English fluently. Apartment well equipped with kitchen equipment including a dishwasher, and was comfortable enough. Good selection of shops available close by. lockable Ski lockers for each apartment in basement of residence.
Review 18:When we arrived, the reception desk was closed. After looking around for an emergency number for an hour, we were told they were not expecting us. Booking.com managed to get us in their sister hotel, 5 star. However, it was unclean and they were a number of house rules, and when we got to our room it was freezing. I'd give this more of a 4 star, so I imagine the original hotel to be more a 3 star.
Review 19:The only negatives - Slow intermittent wifi, and the noise from customers leaving the Flying Dutchman pub every night when it closed at 0200hrs
Review 20:On arrival, even though the reception area was closed, there was a simple procedure for picking up the keys to our apartment. The apartment (South Facing) was bright, spacious and clean with a well equpment kitchen. Good Selection of British Tv Channels. Very Friendly Staff
Review 21:Hard beds wifi almost useless a bit worn out & in need of renovation could be cleaner
Review 22:Very good location for skiing Friendly helpful staff Ideal for a skiing holiday
Review 23:Nothing left in apartment such as washing up liquid, salt etc from previous guests, totally cleaned out from previous occupants which is fine but would have been handy to know this from the outset to come prepared. Also, had to request the cleaning pack and not enough pillows for the beds, but provided on request. A little starter pack would be appreciated, especially given the price paid. No oven, just microwave.
Review 24:Comfortable and functional, close to the lifts. Enough space for 6 people in a 6/7 apartment. Plenty of storage space for all. Décor a little tired but perfectly clean and adequate. Quiet location but close enough to facilities and directly opposite lift to the Forum. Plenty of glasses and crockery in kitchen. Reception desk ladies very personable, friendly and helpful. Boot room great - warm boots every morning. Great views out to the mountain and resort. All in all a very pleasant stay and would return and/or stay in PV again.
Review 25:the village is quiet in summer but still very beautiful and amazing value.
Review 26:amazing location, hotel room was huge, 2 bedrooms, very clean and amazing value for money
Review 27:Heated ski lockers Location to slopes Value for money
Review 28:Convenient practical location
Review 29:Apartments very basic for price and needed a good clean
Review 30:The locality of the Apartments were good
Review 31:street noise on south facing rooms, when pubs close.,
Review 32:adequate for 3 of us.. might be cramped for 4-5
Review 33:Great location and good value for the money .
Review 34:weather,location and skiing in Grand Massi
Review 35:No 24 hour reception No wifi Quilts to small and thin Not enough pillows
Review 36:The apartments were a good size
Review 37:Friendly staff, clean rooms, easy to get to the slopes
Review 38:Location, fresh bread from supermarket, great staff throughout!
Review 39:internet is very bad
Review 40:close to slopes close to bars and restaurants
Review 41:Wifi
Review 42:Location Comfort All you need is just meters from you
Review 43:Being charged an extra €90 on arrival for a south facing room and none existent wifi. Smell of smoke
Review 44:Heated boot rack - being able to book 5 days instead of a full week.
Review 45:We lost the sun apres ski Hard beds
Review 46:The view! The spacious layout in the living area Having two toilets and showers plus a bath Friendly bonjour greeting from reception everytime we passed
Review 47:Excellent location, a few metres from the lifts. Having read some recent reviews, we were slightly worried about our stay but we found the apartment was clean, comfortable and well decorated.
Review 48:The upkeep of the hotel is maybe not top notch
Review 49:Very good location, close to ski rental and the ski slopes and some restaurants. Great with a simple convenience store in the building
Review 50:The mattress on the beds were too firm. And the pillows on the beds were in adequate and far too small.
Review 51:Helpful staff clean and tidy interior. The apartment was well kitted out with good kitchenware and a decent cooker. Very good starter pack. Very good location fabulous views from the runs. Lots of hot water to bath and washing. Quiet rooms. It had a nice feel/LBR's. Local ski shops very helpful and local restaurant perfectly good and friendly. An excellent stay.
Review 52:Reception not manned on our arrival and nowhere to put cases. Hence a difficult arrival. Local ski hire shop helped out otherwise day one would have been a disaster!
Review 53:Carpets could have been a little cleaner
Review 54:Location to the ski slopes and amenties in village. Space in apartment, ski lockers with boot driers, friendliness of staff, availability of board games for free.
Review 55:The beds were so hard we had to de-camp to the sofa bed. Our 5th floor apartment was near the Dutch bar which was quite noisy, particularly at throwing out time.
Review 56:Excellent location as close to lifts. The apartment had everything we expected and needed. Overall good value for money. Very handy having a small supermarket in the building so we could have fresh croissant & bread for breakfast without having to go too far.
Review 57:The hotel is located very close to the lifts and ski school meeting point. The shop is downstairs and a number of restaurants around. We liked the pizzeria that is in the Hotel. We stayed in a deluxe apartment for 7 people (stayed 5) and found it spacious and comfortable. You can't expect more from a ski accommodation. Nice views from the balcony. Hotel staff at the reception is helpful and polite. Excellent ski storage facility. Cooking facilities in the apartment are good ( used a lot). We have not used Wi-fi, so no comments on this.
Review 58:Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean apartments. Beds made up on arrival ( unlike many other french ski apartments). Doorstep skiing, plus they gave us 20 percent off at the on site ski hire. What more could you ask for?!
Review 59:We paid 2,50€/day for WIFI access that worked only in the lobby.
Review 60:Very friendly staff, great location vis-a-vis village amenities (shops, bars, restaurants) and ski slopes&lifts.
Review 61:WiFi disgusting!!! ((( I paid the money, but not in the hall or not in the room, I could not work normally! Constantly breaks the connection, not reconnect. Speed as in 1996. The year before, wifi worked steadily, and this year it did not work. (((
Review 62:Dirty apartment, unmade beds with lots of hairs on the mattress. They even forgot to leave towels on the apartment and left only one toilet paper roll for 4 peaple, 2 days!... Too much expensive for what you get!..
Review 63:kitchen well equipped
Review 64:- Lack of clear indications on how to get to the hotel; staff wasn't helpful in sending us a map on how to get there - it's completely lost and even local people were unable to explain to us how to find it. It's scary - especially if you get there after dark.- the booking.com showed us this hotel as 15km away from Chamonix; it misled us! in fact the hotel by car was located 65 KILOMETERS FROM CHAMONIX, with a windy and difficult road (especially in the night) - sheets were stained with blood! - a lot of insects inside the room - level of hygiene was pathetic
Review 65:Price
Review 66:We went in the summer, the price was fantastic (50 euro per night forfamily of 5). Our family loved hiking to Lac du Flaine and taking thecable car to the top of the mountain (about 10 euro per person) andseeing the amazing view of Mt Blanc and surrounding peaks. From other reviews I knew I should not expect complementary towels, shampoo, dish washing soap etc. Only one roll of toilet paper. I guess that helps keep the cost really low, so I can't complain.
Review 67:We asked for three special requests.1. Two toilet for the large group. 2. Quiet area of the appartments. 3. Internet faclilities. We go 1. A single toilet 2. Locate on the first floor above the Black Diamond disco 3. Internet that could best be discribed as spasmodic. No refund given. The appartments lok tired but good for the price. Would not stay there again.
Review 68:Close to the slopes
Review 69:Reception hours not long enough. Room needs updating, safe was broken. Kettle too small - not enough for 7 people! No instructions in the room about the hotel, Flaine or cleaning the kitchen on departure.
Review 70:The hotel was in a great location with good facilities, eg ski shop and supermarket within the same building. The ski locker room was excellent. Good cleaning pack in kitchen. Lots of storage space. Quiet room. Very close to ski lift.
Review 71:Apartments are very small, 1 bedroom for five people (including pull out sofa and trundle bed) although this didn't matter too much as we didn't spend much time in the apartment. No tea, coffee etc in room, no hairdryer and only one roll of toiletpaper. Although the apartments are self catering these would have made a big difference.
Review 72:Great location, very easy to check in, lockers for storage of equipment. Ski area is brilliant, lots of snow and terrain for all levels.
Review 73:Fantastic location in the town and accessibillity to the slopes. Therooms and hotel are basic but have everything you need - given the costits great value for money. The shop / supermarket in the hotel madeit really easy for meals (and the kitchenettes in the rooms were wellequiped). Also the ski lockers provided for each room were great!! Iwould definitely reccommend this hotel - I think some of these otherreviews on here are very unfair!!
Review 74:Cleanliness of apartment on arrival could have been better, but there was good cleaning equipment for any missed bits and for general tidying up during stay. The carpets needed replacing preferably in a more serviceable colour. They made the apartment look very grubby. There was noise until 3am from the bar located under the hotel.
Review 75:Great location, right by the ski lift and ski lesson meeting points. The apartment was a good size, although we booked the 7 people option for 5 of us. Comfy beds and good bedding. Wonderful views. Helpful staff, and handy shop and ski lockers on site.
Review 76:The beds were slightly uncomfortable
Review 77:The apartment was a fantastic size for the four of us and it was comfortable and appealing to spend time in. It was very well catered with a well equipt kitchenette. Great and easy access to the slopes, shops and restaurants.
Review 78:Being given one toilet roll for the week and having to buy more. Beingcharged to use the luggage room on last day Euro2.50 Per bag. Noiselevels from people above us. Charged for poor Wifi.
Review 79:Accomadtion was clean and adequate for ski needs. Very close to slope.Pizza restaurant in house very good, likewise supermarket and breakfastcafe good. Lockable ski lockers also a bonus.
Review 80:lets start: - folding sofa bed is terrible; we had to take the matrices and place them on the floor! how bad is that!!! - Internet connection is 15 year old technology; not worth 15EuR; - room/apartment was not clean; had a bad smell; made from cheap materials; finishing/decorations are made with terrible quality; - the bright Sofa fabric was never washed and had dark color due to the multi-year dirt accumulated; - washing machine was not available in the room and single wash in the building was 12EUR. it;s per singe use! not the whole day or week or at least an hour. -
