Reviews for Hotel Rural Casa Los Herrera
Review 1:I wish they did not have bright white lights in the bedrooms. It created such a "cold" atmosphere. It would be better to have light bulbs which give "warm" light. The room was really nice, but I think lighting in general could be better (more lamps!). It would have created a cosier atmosphere in the room. Also, for some reason they do not recommend that restaurant La Chacaras. I have no idea why. It was the best restaurant we dined at. The tapas place they recommended, Casa Creativa, was absolutely terrible. The worst tapas I have ever had in Spain. But all in all, this is a good choice in Hermigua.
Review 2:The hosts are wonderful. They really try to ensure you have a good stay, and it seems they aim to be the best hotel in Hermigua.
Review 3:The freezing cold swimming pool, only twin beds
Review 4:The kindness and helpfulness of the staff, the food at breakfast, the location, the shower room, the bedroom and the terrace.
Review 5:Nothing
Review 6:Really loved everything about this location. A beautiful hotel, super cosy rooms and comfortable beds. Excellent location for hiking, helpful staff and great views from the terrace and our room. Excellent break-fast
Review 7:Wifi was patchy at best!
Review 8:Beautifully restored finca in a sleepy little town. Spacious rooms, friendly staff and a very private pool area on top terrace with 'views to die for'. Hearty breakfast ( inclusive) completes the winning formula.
Review 9:The owners couldn't have been more helpful during our stay. They both always had a smile on their face. The breakfast was superb and set us up nicely for a day of hiking.
Review 10:The rumours are true this really is a lovely place to stay. Exceptionally friendly family run hotel where nothing is too much trouble. Great rooms and such a good breakfast you wont need lunch. We wanted to do plenty of walking and this was an excellent location for that. Easy walk to nearby restaurants
Review 11:Nothing, but I wouldn't recommend going with small children.
Review 12:This is a lovely hotel - carefully converted from an old building. Both our rooms had private terraces and there were plenty of other places to sit (in and out) as well as a small rooftop pool. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast good. A good restaurant opposite and a really good one (El Faro) 20 min walk done the road.
Review 13:We loved everything about our stay at the Casa Los Herrera
Review 14:We had a lovely room. The people were very welcoming and friendly Delicious breakfast The honesty bar The location of the hotel in the village is perfect. Hermigua is a laid back and relaxing destination
Review 15:This is not a place to stay if you don''t like hills!
Review 16:Small, quiet and friendly hotel. Whenever we asked for advice the staff were really helpful. The other guests were really pleasant making breakfast a really enjoyable start to the day.
Review 17:Nothing at all. Everything high quality.
Review 18:As our second visit to this hotel, everything was as before. Wonderful hosts, very friendly and helpful. Welcoming room, very clean, well presented. Lovely, restored building retaining character and charm, whilst providing excellent, modern facilities. A great place to stay.
Review 19:Limited range of restaurants within walking distance although very good ones (we stayed 10 days at the hotel). More are accessible with a car.
Review 20:Very helpful people who helped us hire a car for a few days and were very good at giving advice about the local area. Fantastic fresh and locally grown fruit for breakfast. Nice walks from the hotel.
Review 21:Hot water in shower sometimes ran out.. Better to use mattress protector rather than plastic on beds...
Review 22:Breakfast! Ana and Jorge were really lovely hosts! We had a wonderful time!
Review 23:What's not to like?
Review 24:Cheerful helpful hosts. Spacious clean comfortable room and shower with lovely balcony Super breakfasts often included mangoes Unusual beautifully adapted old house with lift. Jordi and Josefina were so warm happy and helpful. Quiet position near several lovely restaurants.
Review 25:Probably the best place to stay on the island. Cannot praise enough the owners of the house (hope you are doing well). The room, interior decoration, breakfast - everything was just great in this rural case in the little northern town in Herrera.
Review 26:The wifi was sometimes a bit sketchy, but as this also affected other places and restaurants in the area, this was likely caused by the bad weather and the local telco connectivity, and not their fault.
Review 27:We stayed at Casa Los Herrera for 9 nights in November, and had a great time on La Gomera. Jordi and Josefine are very friendly and helpful, and we felt welcome from the beginning. They gave us good tips for tours on the island. Breakfast was great, with fresh fruit and bread, and egg and bacon prepared on order. Rooms are clean and nicely decorated, we liked the terrace very much.
Review 28:The place was beautifully decorated and very clean, jorgi and his wife were very accomodating and always had a smile on their faces...will defo be returning

Review 49:A very friendly small hotel with good facilities and excellent breakfasts. Staff very helpful. By taxi rank if you need it. Car hire also close by.
Review 50:That we couldn't stay another week!
Review 51:Such friendly hosts, fabulous breakfasts, no distance to walk to several great restaurants, quiet rooms,
Review 52:Friendly owners
Review 53:Everything.
Review 54:Great value for money and exceptionally friendly.
Review 55:The pool upstairs, the privare terace of the room, the well decorated rooms, the friendliness of the owners
Review 56:Lovely hotel with a fantastic breakfast. wish we could have stayed longer!
Review 57:Very little, indeed.to dislike. Perhaps a lounge bar would have helped conviviality, although a supply of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks were available 24 hours a day on an honesty arrangement - you simply entered what you had taken on a sheet. Also a fridge in the room would have been helpful to keep drinking water cold. Other that departing the hotel was the only part that we disliked.
Review 58:Extremely friendly reception by all members of staff with a warm welcome, and, as it was mid-morning a cup of coffee and piece of toast. The hotel is delightful, rustic, with lots of character. The bedroom was well furnished with quality furniture, bedding and fixtures. Excellent bathroom and facilities. Bed most comfortable. Hotel was quiet despite despite being close to a church whose bells toiled. A small boutique hotel that has much to commend it. Breakfast was superb, and plentiful. We will return, many times, we hope!
Review 59:Nothing not to like. .fantastic

Review 61:Nothing at all - this is an absolutely superb rural hotel.
Review 62:We had a room with a private terrace which gave a great feeling of space, as did the very many public rooms and terraces and the rooftop swimming pool. I loved the furniture and decor - the staff were all friendly, charming and very helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Staying here was a wonderful experience.
Review 63:Nothing to dislike unless your born to quibble.
Review 64:Small family run hotel of a traditional style. 8 rooms with real wood ceilings. Excellent breakfast. Our room had a large outside area where you could relax. Excellent restaurant across road. Nice relaxing venue.
Review 65:Loved everything about the place and the friendly hosts. The casa is very well located, by the church & the bus stop was less than 5 minutes walk away. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable, breakfast was excellent, additional plus was the scrumptious tasting fried eggs & Nespresso coffee. The team was very helpful with walking tips around the area and I was dropped me off at the National Park Visitor Centre on a Sunday when no taxis was available. There is a very cosy lounge and, self service mini bar and a pool on the top floor with amazing views of Hermigua.
Review 66:There is nothing you could dislike about this hotel.
Review 67:Beautiful hotel.very friendly staff, good choice of breakfast.location quiet ,very pictuesque setting,
Review 68:Everything. The owners were just so helpful and thoughtful. Always lots of suggestions how to manage getting places, what to see and where to eat. The building itself is grand..beautiful locale. Everything is great!
Review 69:Nothing. I liked or loved every aspect of this charming casa rural.
Review 70:The hosts are very friendly and helpful. This was the third time I've stayed there and Jordi and Josephina greeted me like an old friend. Rooms are peaceful, comfortable and clean. Fresh, scrummy eggs cooked to order for breakfast.Lovely views from terraces, where you can smoke. Good to cool off after a long walk in the swimming pool, which has stupendous views. Self-service "honesty" mini bar was handy.
Review 71:North of the island means the weather more often cloudy (I think). So had no chance to use the pool. At this time of year seems very few restaurants etc open - but the one that was was great _ El FARO. NOthing we didnt like about the place
Review 72:Lovely friendly staff and also friendly people staying there ! Could not find fault at all.
Review 73:The rooms can be a little noisy but then there wasn't much noise to make this a big issue. The wifi signal is limited to the reception and breakfast areas due to the old thick walls, but again this is a minor issue.
Review 74:The hosts are very friendly and helpful. They made us a great breakfast each day. The hotel is in a good location with restaurants and shops close by and with easy access to the walking paths.
Review 75:Casa Los Herrera is in a perfect spot to explore Hermigua and the north of Gomera. The hosts are a charming couple, and the hotel itself is very comfortable. You probably won't find better on the island.
Review 76:Leaving!
Review 77:Everything about this hotel is perfect from the rooms to the breakfast. Particularly the owner though. The place is peaceful and spotless with areas to sit and comfortable atmosphere.
Review 78:Estancia perfecta! El hotel lo lleva una familia que te hace sentir como en casa. La habitación era confortable, limpia y bien decorada y el desayuno buenísimo! 100% recomendable! A perfect stay! The hotel is family run and they make you feel at home. The room was comfortable, clean and well decorated and the breakfast was delicious! 100% recommendable!
Review 79:Lack of freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast
Review 80:Peaceful location, friendly and helpful hosts, very comfortable beds, spacious and pleasant interior, everywhere immaculately clean.
Review 81:There is not anything at this hotel to dislike!!!!!
Review 82:Every staff member at this hotel were very helpful friendly and genuinely nice people. This hotel is a gem found on the island of La Gomera and we will go back again and again in the future.
Review 83:The weather was horrible and it didn't matter a bit!
Review 84:From the welcome (out of hours, no trouble) to the departure, everything was a delight. Great, original food on set menu with minimal choice, good inexpensive wine, great coffee. Lovely rooms and decor, quiet. Intimate atmosphere. Fun company.
Review 85:This hotel is a fabulous little and peaceful retreat and became one of my all-time favourites: - very friendly owners, always willing to help with travel advice or share some stories about Hermigua area :-) - beautifully arranged rooms, spacy terrace, rooftop pool with views of village and mountains
Review 86:-
Review 87:Friendly, efficient and helpful staff. Relaxed atmosphere of the hotel. Excellent location in the centre of the village and yet with superb mountain and valley views.
Review 88:We liked just about everything at this lovely hotel and agree with all the previous guests. We did not have time to enjoy a breakfast because we had to catch an early ferry but the evening meal was delicious. We hope to return and enjoy more time at thid lovely hotel with its friendly and helpful staff..
Review 89:One small point for improvement: there are no free outlets in your roomto for instance charge your phone.
Review 90:If you’re staying in de North of La Gomera, Hotel Rural Casa Los Herrerawould be definately the perfect place to stay. The hotel only has 8 rooms and is completely run by one family. There’s nothing impossible for them. Every morning there's a different kind of breakfast, with fresh fruit from the region. We happened to be there for a few nights at the end of December 2012 until January 2th 2013, and were surprised by a real New Year’s breakfast with Churros con cholocate! Besides your own spacious room with complete bathroom you have a nice terrace, because balcony is not the appropriate word for it ;-) The guests have a swimming pool on the roofterrace and a living room on the first floor to their disposal, with computer and free (wifi) access to the internet. The views from the hotel to the mountains are stunning. Hermigua is located near the access of Parque Nacional de Garajonay, a must see! Actually the whole island is worthwhile, a real paradise for hikers. If you want to make your holidays on La Gomera a memorable one, book a few nights in this casa rural in Hermigua. You won't regret it! Last tip: have dinner in restaurant Chacara (where the locals come to have dinner too) and avoid El Faro if possible (where only tourists come to have dinner). You surely will notice the difference between those two restaurants concerning the meals and the service you get!
Review 91:It's amazing !!! Super friendly Very quiet Old and expensive style Pool on the roof! Good breakfast include
Review 92:Nothing.
