Reviews for Hotel Torrecerredo
Review 1:They got the essentials all right. Location, views, comfy beds, lots of hot water, the best 16E meals I have ever eaten, great hosts supported by fantastic staff.
Review 2:Spent two nights here, and we really enjoyed our stay. The view from the room was amazing, overlooking the mountains. Friendly staff, who all spoke good English. They serve dinner as well, which was so good the first night, that we decided not to go into town for a meal the second day either.
Review 3:Nothing.
Review 4:The staff were excellent, very helpful and considerate. The evening meals were great value and a real taste of the region. The breakfasts were good with fruit and cold meats cheese available as was an egg dish omelette etc. You could also order a packed lunch if you were out for the day.
Review 5:In general the craftsmanship of the baths and rooms is not the best. They do what they are supposed to do. The bathroom was a bit cramped - however once we learned to work the shower it was hot with great pressure.
Review 6:The hotel was fabulous - it was in a great location. It was close to town and the hikes. The staff was lovely. Breakfast was a buffet with eggs made to order. Overall it was a great place. The view from our room was amazing.
Review 7:The weather! Thankfully that was out of the control of the management sono complaints from me!!
Review 8:Jim the owner and his excellent efficient staff made this 3 night halfboard stay a real joy. The food, drink and craic (as they would say inIreland) was second to none. The food was fresh plentiful and varied.Breakfast was lovely with a good selection of cold meats (the mostfabulous chorizo!! Thanks Jim for my gift!), cheeses, bread, cereal, eggs and most importantly...FRESH Coffee!! This was a 50th birthdaymotorcycling trip for myself and my travelling companion and the hotelwas in the perfect location for the Picos de Europa national park. Thehotel was up a track off the main road into Arenas de Cabrales andthis proved to be a positive with the bikes being out of view. There's a short walk into the pretty village with a fewrestaurants/bars and several shops including a"supermarket". This location is a little over an hour fromSantander and couple of hours from Bilbao so if you're looking forsomewhere with a relaxed atmosphere in the mountains with good routesfor both walking and motoring...this is your hotel. Once I'vesaved up enough for another ferry crossing I shall be back!
Review 9:would have preferred tea /coffee making facilities in the room
Review 10:Staff were excellent - proprietors very friendly and have a wealth of knowledge related to the area plus excellent chef
Review 11:We loved the big buffet breakfasts, the rustic bar, the views of the mountains, the delicious homemade dinners and local wines, the friendly family-run atmosphere, the fact it was only 5 mins walk from the village, the kindness of the owners.
Review 12:The staff was very helpful and very friendly. Made us feel immediately welcomed. All sorts of activities can be arranged from Torrecedero to discover the magnificent nature and gastronomy of the region. We also received great tips on what to do based on physical condition and the age of our children -spot on! There's nothing like a full day trekking and coming back to a warm shower and a delicious, well prepared dinner! Will certainly return!
Review 13:Not easy to find on an ordinary map but if you get to Llanes you should be ok
Review 14:The food, the welcome, the wine, the staff and the hotel are excellent. If you want a real chill out hotel in a lovely location you must stay at the hotel
Review 15:Nothing to dislike.
Review 16:Such a relaxing Hotel. Happy and helpful staff and the owners were just as welcoming. Unusual rustic/quirky decor but better than anonymous over-priced hotels. Good food, fantastic views from our bedroom and the most comfortable bed. Plenty places to visit of great beauty and just a short walk to town. We stayed there 3 nights and had a most enjoyable time. Lots of walkers stay at this hotel and seemed to enjoy themselves as well.
Review 17:Appreciate its tough for smaller hotels, but would like to see individual meals offered rather than a 4 course menu. Food on offer is generally excellent though!
Review 18:The owners and staff are particularly friendly and approachable. They always have time for you. This isn't some corporate, polished Euro hotel. Its a friendly, family run hotel offering good value where you can kick back and relax.
Review 19:We have stayed in this area before, but the Torrecerredo made the experience much more enjoyable. Pilar and Jim made guests of all nationalities welcome, and were helpful with their advice about where to go and what to do. The food during our stay was outstanding, combining local traditional food with more international tastes. Overall, a friendly and enjoyable experience.
Review 20:beds in upstairs twins not very comfortable for us plus the legs were very dodgy (on bed not us!). We had 2 twin bedded rooms, one had a lovely refurbed bathroom and altho ours was older had tons hot water. Our rooms needed bit of a good flick of duster but we were ok with it.
Review 21:loved the location, to look at that view every day must be amazing. Jim and Pilar very friendly hosts, good suggestions for river swimming for our teenagers and walks for us oldies. Masses of local knowledge, we couldn't fault them.
Review 22:when we arrived at the hotel, I was quite unwell, suffering from a stomach virus. our room was not ready however the owner put me in one of the 'available' rooms so I could lie down until the room was ready. they also cooked me a special meal which was a local remedy for stomach illness which helped me recover. all in all they went above and beyond to care for my well being. whilst I was lying in bed recovering I was accompanied by fantastic views of the picos out of my window. we will definitely come back again next time we come to the Picos.
Review 23:The outstanding location with views to the countyside and the mountain range (yet close to the town centre), each room's little terrace to relax and the staff's kindness.
Review 24:The location,( stunning views) the hosts and their sharing of information and local knowledge was invaluable.
Review 25:Great location, gorgeous views, lovely staff who will make you feel welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Review 45:Friendly, helpful owners that spoke English and knew about local walks and where to eat. Stunning views - even though cloudy during our visit. Interesting Spanish breakfast cakes. Nice walk up hill behind hotel.
Review 46:nothing
Review 47:the staff were very helpful and friendly and despite being the end of the season were still enthusiastic and welcoming, facilties were not luxury but perfectly adequate.
Review 48:Just one or two of the fixtures and fittings need attention e.g. loo seat in bathroom didn't fit the loo and had become detatched before we arrived
Review 49:Friendly, helpful staff. Fantastic views. Relaxed atmosphere. Not fine dining but very tasty meals after hard days walking in the mountais. Very good value.
Review 50:The rooms facing south are hot during the day. Try to get a room on the north or west side. The double beds are only just a double not queen or king; 2 people in them just roll into the middle.
Review 51:Vegetarian food was great. Good choice of food for breakfast and plenty of it. Great location just out of the town and set slightly back from the main road. Quiet at night.
Review 52:Access road to hotel is very narrow and difficult to find.
Review 53:The view from the hotel of the mountains was good on a clear day. The dining room is interesting in decor, clean and with a good view. Food was imaginative and good value. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful.
